WE'RE JUST FRIENDS

Tom Brady says he doesn't understand why everyone's making such a big deal about his friendship with Donald Trump ... essentially telling people GET OVER IT!

After President Trump gave an inauguration speech saying Tom had called him to congratulate him on the election ... Brady was asked about his relationship with POTUS on the 'Kirk and Callahan' show on WEEI.

"I have called him, yes, in the past. Sometimes he calls me, sometimes I call. But again, that’s been someone I’ve known. I always try to keep it in context because for 16 years you know someone before maybe he was in the position that he was in."

He then dropped this line -- "Why does everybody make such a big deal? I don’t understand it."

For his part, Brady says there are "a lot things" he and Trump disagree on -- though he wouldn't get specific. He also wouldn't expand when asked how Gisele feels about his friendship with Trump.

Still, Brady made it clear Trump's his boy ... and he doesn't plan on turning his back on the guy.

There will be no premiere for "A Dog's Purpose" because the studio that produced it is still reeling from the video TMZ posted showing it's animal star in distress, and there's worry PETA might create an embarrassing or even violent scene.

Amblin and Universal studios are still reviewing footage that syncs up with the video we posted to determine what happened to Hercules when he clearly was recoiling as his trainer tried pulling him into the water. The studios say the dog is fine and was never abused.

The studios know lots of people are upset after seeing the video and there's particular concern about PETA.

Jets Legend Mark Gastineau Diagnosed with Dementia, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's

NY Jets legend Mark Gastineau says he's been diagnosed with dementia, alzheimer's and parkinson's ... and suggests it was caused by football.

The 60-year-old appeared on 'Sports Zone' on WOR radio and revealed his health issues -- while also saying he's working to help young players avoid the same fate.

"I want to get out and I want to help other kids & youths coming into the game," Gastineau said.

"There's techniques out there that if I would have had them, I know that I wouldn't have the results that I have now."

Gastineau says he does NOT regret playing football -- he just wants to help make the game safer moving forward.

"I don't want [my health] to overpower or overshadow the 'Heads Up' program" -- a program that promotes youth safety in football.

"I want it to be a warning to mothers and fathers to be able to put their kids into safe places to be able to carry on a team sport that I think is going to be way far beneficial to them then if they didn't have that in their lives."

'A Dog's Purpose' Huge Fine and Jail Possible

Published | Updated

"A Dog's Purpose" crew members are now under investigation by Manitoba's Chief Veterinary Office, and jail time is on the table if the agency finds any wrongdoing.

The CVO tells TMZ it received a formal complaint on Wednesday, and has begun looking into what went down on the set during filming in Winnipeg.

TMZ posted the video of Hercules, a German Shepherd, appearing terrified to get in churning water to shoot a scene for the movie. The trainer tried for about 40 seconds to put Hercules in the pool. The CVO says it wasn't involved with the filming, because a rep from the American Humane Association was on set. That rep, we've learned, has since been suspended.

The Office could levy a fine up to $10k and/or sentence offenders to up to 6 months in jail.

Producers for the film say Hercules was not harmed during filming.
