Nicki Minaj Meek Doesn't Do Drugs His Pee is Just Deceiving

Published | Updated

Nicki Minaj was way more than a ride-or-die chick when she took the stand Thursday on his behalf ... she also vouched for a curious, bizarre drug test her boyfriend failed.

Meek Mill was in court on a probation violation in his drug and gun case. As we reported, he left town without getting court permission, but it turns out there was a lot more he allegedly did.

According to legal docs, during a drug test Meek handed the lab tech a specimen that turned out to be cold water. Meek allegedly told the tech it looked that way because he had just consumed a lot of water, adding he was a bodybuilder and drank protein shakes that make his pee appear that way.

Nicki testified that Meek was telling the truth about his drug test, and said if she knew the protein shakes would make his urine appear like water, she would not have let him drink it.

And Nicki insisted to the judge, Meek doesn't do drugs and did not fake the test.

The judge was skeptical, saying she felt Meek was thumbing his nose at the court.

Mohamed Hadid Criminal Charges Filed Over 'Starship Enterprise' Mansion

Published | Updated

Mohamed Hadid now faces criminal charges after allegedly thumbing his nose at his neighbors who are at war with him over his nearly-built mansion that looks like the Starship Enterprise.

The city has been after Hadid's construction company for years. The main house is 30,000 square feet -- 9,000 more than the City of L.A. approved. There have been other violations, according to city officials, but Hadid's company allegedly just kept going, blowing off the building dept.

Hadid's company was charged with 3 criminal building complaints, but on Wednesday a judge ruled the father of Gigi and Bella Hadid is now also a defendant.

The size of the mega-mansion isn't the only issue ... neighbors say it poses a threat to their lives -- they say the land the home's built on has unstable ground and El Nino could cause serious landslides.

Mohamed's mansion has become a landmark in Bel Air over the years, boasting a 70-seat IMAX theater, yet it only has parking for 6 cars.

The Daily Mail has been reporting on the story, citing a comment Hadid made on Instagram hours after the judge joined him in the case. Hadid said, "The higher you get, the more people want to climb just to knock you down. Just remember, only a fraction realize their own dreams and will never reach where you are."

Chef Amanda Freitag My Diner's On the Chopping Block

Published | Updated

Celebrity chef and "Chopped" judge Amanda Freitag has an ironic dilemma ... although she's a pro at saving failing diners, her own is about to go belly up.

Freitag revamps struggling diners on Food Network's "American Diner Revival." She's also part owner of the retro NYC eatery, Empire Diner.

According to legal docs obtained by TMZ, Empire Diner is four months behind in rent. The demand is ominous ... cough up $119,070.80 by December 14th or clear the building.

A source at the diner -- famously featured in Woody Allen's "Manhattan" and the opening credits of "SNL" -- tells us the employees just found out about the problem, and they're devastated they may lose jobs right before Christmas.

A rep for Amanda tells us the chef hasn't been involved in day-to-day operations since July, but she still retains an ownership stake.

Nicki Minaj Mum on Marrying Meek

Published | Updated

Nicki Minaj did not reciprocate when she took the stand on behalf of her beleaguered boyfriend Meek Mill ... saying NOTHING about marrying him.

Meek's freedom is on the line, because he violated probation by failing to get permission to leave Philly for the AMA's last month. Permission is required since he's on probation for gun and drug charges.

Meek's lawyer told the judge his client seriously wants to marry Nicki, but she said nothing when she testified on his behalf. She did acknowledge they're in a romantic relationship.

NICKI AND MEEK ARRIVING

Nicki did say she'd like to have a private sit down with Meek and the judge to prove he's a changed man. Nicki said the judge would be impressed with Meek's charity work and his frame of mind.

She also said Meek's kind of a nimrod when it comes to scheduling trips, and if she was put in charge of his calendar there wouldn't be another problem. Meek is currently her opening act.

Nicki and Meek have some convincing to do. At one point the judge said out loud, she felt like Meek was thumbing his nose at her.

The case was recessed for a week ... Meek could be sent back to the big house, worst case scenario.

Nickelback's Chad Kroeger Sued You Went Silent About Gnarly Throat Condition

Published | Updated

Lloyd's of London filed a lawsuit against Nickelback lead singer Chad Kroeger, saying he failed to disclose a preexisting condition in his throat.

Nickelback canceled more than 60 concerts over the summer during their international tour because Kroeger had a cyst on his vocal chords that kept him from performing.

Kroeger got surgery to remove the cyst in July, and filed a $13 million claim with the band's insurance company to cover losses for canceled concerts.

But according to docs, the insurance company says he had the condition before Nickelback got its Lloyd's of London policy ... and Chad never told them about it.

Lloyd's is suing to cancel the policy.

Meek Mill Facing Jail ... AGAIN

Published | Updated

Meek Mill could have his probation revoked this morning, and it appears it's because he took a trip without permission.

Meek's on probation from a drug and gun conviction back in 2009. According to court docs, as of November 1, 2015, he was required to obtain a travel voucher before leaving Philly.

The judge ordered Meek to appear in court Thursday morning, for a probation violation.

Reading between the lines, it seems Meek may not have gotten permission to attend the AMAs in L.A. on November 22nd.

If Meek screwed up, he could be sent to jail. This wouldn't be the first time he served time for violating probation. It happened last year and he was sent to jail for several months.

A&E's 'American Takedown' Sued READ THE SIGN ... We're Lawyers, Not Crooks!

Published | Updated

A&E Network went gunning for alleged fraudsters, but due to a ONE SECOND screwup ... a couple of DUI attorneys got burned instead, and now they're doing what attorneys do.

The snafu went down during an episode of "American Takedown" -- a Morgan Spurlock produced investigative show -- which was tracking lawyer Cory Meltzer and chiropractor Roger Bell. They were suspected of pulling an insurance fraud scam in South Florida.

Problem is, the program aired a quick shot of the wrong Meltzer & Bell signage. Instead of the counselor and the chiro's office ... it showed a sign for Larry Meltzer and Steven Bell, DUI attorneys.

Larry and Steven say the error hurt their good name (yes, that can happen to lawyers) ... and could potentially damage their business. They reached out to A&E and got an apology letter from an executive producer who admitted the mistake and said A&E would air a retraction.

Apology not accepted ... Meltzer & Bell sued 3 months later for unspecified damages.

The company behind the lawsuit is Cutting Edge Music -- which claims "The Hills" contains a baseline featured in the score of a movie called, "The Machine."

C.E.M. says it not only owns the licensing rights to the song -- but insists they NEVER gave permission to The Weeknd to use it on his song.

But the smoking gun, according to the suit, is a tweet allegedly sent in March by one of Weeknd's producers -- in which he complimented the composer for the movie music and said it "might make it 2 the weeknd next album."

He added, "Huge fan of what u did 4 the machine movie."

Two months later, the song was released -- became a monster hit -- and C.E.M. was furious.

Now, they want Weeknd to fork over the profits from the song -- though they haven't mentioned a specific number.

We reached out to Weeknd for comment -- so far, no word back.

The Game scored a small legal victory because he and his lawyer are the '95-'96 Chicago Bulls of the L.A. court system ... at least that's how Game sees it.

As we previously reported, Game's facing a slew of criminal charges for punching an off-duty cop during a rec league basketball game -- and for allegedly threatening 2 guys who served him in that case.

During a preliminary hearing on Tuesday, one charge of criminal threats got dropped, and another threat charge was reduced from felony to misdemeanor.

He's still facing assault and battery charges -- and the case will continue later this month, but for now Game's really satisfied with his attorney, Charlie Unger. A regular Jordan and Pippen, they are ... according to the defendant.
