Frank Ocean isn't backing down from his father -- who sued his son for saying he used a homophobic slur -- he's doubling down, insisting dear ol' dad said the word.

The singer responded to the lawsuit, saying he doesn't deny writing the Tumblr post last summer after the Orlando nightclub shooting. Frank recounted a time his father called a transgender waitress a "f****t" when he was a kid.

According to the docs ... Ocean claims his statements are true -- and that's all the defense he needs to fight his father's defamation suit.

The guy arrested at 50 Cent's mansion was dressed like a cat burglar, and did his research before the alleged caper, but still got thwarted by a top-notch security system ... TMZ has learned.

Elwin Joyce tried to make his way into the home through the generator room, but set off an alarm that alerted property manager, David Holloway ... according to the police report.

Law enforcement sources tell us Holloway peered out and saw Joyce creeping through a garage, and moving across the mansion's grounds. We're told that's when Holloway ran to his vehicle and drove to the main road to call 911.

We're told Joyce was wearing dark clothes and a dark knit cap when cops busted him. Officers found a printout of directions from a nearby hotel to Fiddy's pad ... indicating the burglary was anything but random.

Joyce was charged Wednesday in Hartford Superior Court and is being held on $125,000 bail.

Conrad Hilton exploded in anger during his arraignment Wednesday, saying in the courtroom, "So f***ing gay."

Hilton did not enter a plea to violating a restraining order by trying to break into the home of his ex-girlfriend over the weekend. While our camera mic didn't pick up the homophobic slur ... our reporters in the courtroom say it was audible.

The judge agreed to release Hilton on $90,000 bail, but there were strings attached. The judge said Hilton, Paris' younger brother, could only be released to the custody of his father, Rick Hilton. The judge also said Hilton must agree to enter a hospital where his condition could be properly diagnosed.

The hospital the judge selected is Menninger hospital in Houston.

At the end of the hearing, the judge asked Conrad if he would comply with the order, and Hilton responded, "I am sorry to the court and the entire state for disrespecting the court. I am not obsessed with hookers and I'm sorry."

Conrad's courtroom explosion comes on the heels of a similar outburst when he was arrested early Saturday morning.

Conrad Hilton's behavior has been erratic for so long ... E.G. Daily's house was on a security lockdown long before he arrived on her doorstep last weekend.

Sources close to E.G. tell TMZ both she and her ex-husband, Rick Salomon, decided to significantly beef up security measures to protect their daughter, Hunter, from Conrad. Hunter lives with her mom.

We're told it was obvious to them the restraining order against Conrad wasn't working, so they took other measures:

-- 24-hour round-the-clock security ... with a few guards now living at the homes on a permanent basis.
-- Adding lighting and updating security camera sensors ... E.G. gets a direct camera feed to her phone.
-- 2 Rottweilers patrol the grounds.

As we reported ... E.G. says she and her family have had numerous run-ins with Conrad after his 2015 arrest for breaking into their home -- and even though she didn't always call cops ... it's obvious she was preparing for the worst.

Abby Lee Miller's got a way better attitude about prison life than she had toward many of her "Dance Moms" students.

Abby was pretty upbeat Tuesday after getting sentenced to one year and a day in a federal facility for fraud charges -- and, in fact, was already talking about creating a new reality show while she's in the pen.

Abby told ET she's going to pitch a new show ... "I have been so very successful -- maybe that'll be some time to work." She said the show will be about dance. Do what ya know.

She also talked about adjusting to life in prison, saying, "There's a few physical limitations, dietary limitations [in prison], of course, but it'll be OK."

Sounds like Abby's trying to pour some lemonade.

Phaedra Parks' punishment for spreading lies on 'RHOA' should go beyond her reality show firing, she also needs to lose her license to practice law ... according to a guy who lives to challenge the 'Housewives.'

Michael Lissack has filed an official grievance with the State Bar of Georgia against Phaedra for her behavior on 'Real Housewives.' He told us why he thinks Phaedra's treatment of Kandi and Porsha this past season is grounds to yank her law license.

Lissack's a former Smith Barney director who famously blew the whistle on his firm in 1994 for overcharging municipalities. This also isn't his first 'Housewives' rodeo either -- he claims to have exposed Vicki Gunvalson last year for allegedly running a fake cancer charity.

What's odd is ... the guy who's complaining so hard about the 'Housewives' seems to be watching them as closely as any superfan.

Phaedra's rep tells us, "This is a frivolous complaint filed by an attention seeking fan. We fully expect that it will be dismissed."

Richard Simmons isn't anti-LGBT by suing "National Enquirer" over a story claiming he's been transitioning to a woman ... at least not according to transgender model Carmen Carrera.

'Enquirer' claims Simmons isn't pro-LGBT because his suit claims defamation and that suggests being transgender is a bad thing. Carrera says that's just BS.

Zion Moreno -- a trans model who is vying for a shot in the next Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition -- says it doesn't matter if Simmons is transitioning ... there's a bigger issue the Enquirer is missing.

3:45 PM PT -- Despite his no-show, Conrad's been officially charged with a felony count of driving or taking a vehicle without consent. He was also charged with 2 misdemeanors for violating the restraining order Hunter Daily has against him, and contempt of court ... also a misdemeanor.

Conrad Hilton -- who went off the rails Saturday morning with racial and homophobic insults directed at cops -- will stay in jail another night because he decided court was not for him.

Hilton was supposed to be arraigned Tuesday but we're told he simply refused to come out of his jail cell, so he never made it on the bus from County Jail to court.

Turns out ... if he refuses to come out there's nothing Sheriff's deputies -- who control the jail -- can do short of getting a court order allowing them to physically remove him from his cell and take him to the courtroom.

Hilton was arrested after allegedly stealing a Bentley from Rick Salomon's home, driving it to his ex-girlfriend's house and trying to break in. The ex-GF has a restraining order ... Hilton was arrested for violating that order.

TMZ broke the story, Conrad's attorney and family are trying to get him hospitalized as a condition of bail.

The arraignment was rescheduled for Wednesday.

12:35 PM PT -- Police caught a suspect on the grounds, and determined he'd actually forced his way into the residence. Farmington PD says Elwin Joyce has been charged with 2nd degree burglary, trespassing, criminal mischief and attempted larceny.

Police say Fiddy's security was alerted when an entry alarm went off, and then called cops.

50 Cent's Connecticut estate is surrounded by police right now as they investigate an attempted break-in ... TMZ has learned.

Several marked and unmarked police vehicles were in the driveway and on the street Tuesday afternoon outside the Farmington, CT spread. Sources connected to Fiddy tell us police were alerted by someone on the property.

It's unclear if anything was taken ... or if anyone's been arrested. We're told 50 Cent was not home at the time.

One possible reason for so many cops responding -- the place covers a ton of ground ... 50,000 sq. feet for the home on 17 acres of land.

Jodie Sweetin's ex-fiance is going to do time for gun possession, but it won't be hard time in state prison ... as long as he doesn't screw up again.

Justin Hodak entered a no contest plea on Friday and got a suspended sentence of 6 years and 8 months. The judge said he'll only have to serve 120 days in L.A. County Jail, and he's getting credit for 56 days already served. In addition, he must complete a 52 week domestic violence course, and stay away from Jodie for 5 years.

If Hodak messes up any of that, he could get slapped with that 6 years and 8 months. Talk about motivation to keep your nose clean.

Tarek and Christina El Moussa hired a guy to find homes for them to flip, but he claims the "Flip or Flop stars haven't paid him a dime, and are now more than $30k in the red with him.

Jonathan Schmier is suing the reality TV stars for stiffing him on deals for 5 homes in North Carolina. In docs, Schmier says the couple's company -- Next Level Property Investments -- hired him last year to lock potential flip-worthy Carolina pads.

He says he was told the El Moussas, who normally only shoot in SoCal, would be branching out to the East Coast.

Schmier says he delivered what they wanted, but never got what he wanted ... a paycheck. In the suit, he says he was promised $5,000 per home ... plus he wants minimum wage for the hours he logged. Grand total owed -- $37,800 ... according to Schmier, anyway.

Former "Dance Moms" star Abby Lee Miller is going to prison for a year and a day after a federal judge handed down her sentence Tuesday morning in federal court.

Miller had been indicted on 20 counts of fraud connected to hiding $755,000 in earnings from the government. During the trial she took the stand and begged the judge for mercy, saying she had fallen victim to the sudden fame that came when "Dance Moms" took off.

Abby will reportedly serve her sentence in a federal facility near L.A. ... and after she gets out she'll be on supervised release for 2 more years. She will also have to pay about $160k in fines.

Doesn't sound like it, but she got off easy. She could have gotten 5 years in prison and $5 mil in fines.

Deadline first reported the sentence.

"Love & Hip Hop: New York" star Tahiry Jose got an awful birthday present -- handcuffs and a trip to jail after an alleged beatdown.

The incident went down on Cinco de Mayo, Tahiry's 38th birthday, after she got into a physical altercation with a woman who was staying in her New Jersey home.

According to arrest docs, Tahiry punched and scratched the woman in her face ... and yanked her hair, leaving "reddish bruises" on the right side of her face.

Tahiry tells TMZ ... SHE was the victim, and was merely defending herself. She claims she got home and the woman -- whom she'd just recently allowed to stay with her -- jumped her and started breaking stuff.

Tahiry was booked for assault and released the next day, but says she plans to press charges too.

We'll say this, the ex-roomie probably stepped to the wrong chick. As 'LHHNY' fans know, Tahiry's always down to throw down.

9:05 AM PT -- The Bristol County D.A.'s Office just said they plan to appeal the judge's decision.

Aaron Hernandez's conviction for the murder of Odin Lloyd has officially been dismissed by a judge.

The case went before the court in Massachusetts early Tuesday morning where Hernandez's team argued that the conviction cannot stand because he had not exhausted all of his appeals before his death. The doctrine is called abatement ab initio.

Prosecutors argued against it -- claiming Hernandez knew about the rule and used it as a loophole in a diabolical plot to get millions of dollars from the Patriots for his family.

The evidence, prosecutors claim, was spelled out in his suicide note to his fiancee, Shayanna Jenkins ... in which he told her, "You're rich!"

Prosecutors say Hernandez knew if his conviction was erased the Patriots would have to pay out the remainder of his NFL contract ... estimated to be worth around $6 million.

Prosecutors claimed he shouldn't be rewarded for cutting his own appeal short by committing suicide -- but ultimately the judge didn't see it their way ... and cleared the conviction.

Odin Lloyd's family was in the courtroom when the judge announced her decision. They were visibly upset and left the courtroom in a rush.

NFL lineman Michael Oher -- the inspiration for the movie "The Blind Side" -- turned himself in to police on Monday to be booked for allegedly roughing up an Uber driver. He looked pissed.

Conrad Hilton's family will use his arrest after going off the rails at his ex-girlfriend's house to get him help ... TMZ has learned.

We broke the story ... Conrad was arrested Saturday at 4 AM after allegedly stealing Rick Salomon's Bentley, driving it over to his ex-girlfriend's house and trying to break in.

Conrad was arrested for violating a restraining order after going on a vulgar rant against LAPD cops.

Hilton, the younger brother of Paris and son of Rick and Kathy, is still in jail on $60,000 bail.

The 23-year-old's lawyer, Robert Shapiro, tells TMZ he will appear in court Tuesday with his client and not only ask for bail, but Shapiro will ask the judge to impose a very specific condition ... to allow Conrad out ONLY if he agrees to enter a hospital where doctors can diagnose what's wrong with him.

Shapiro calls Conrad's behavior "bizarre and unusual" and says he needs help.

Rick and Kathy Hilton have struggled in recent years trying to help their son, but the issues clearly can't be solved by discipline.
