1:08 PM PT -- Police have just released additional details about Gibson's arrest, saying he is accused of punching some guy at a nightclub on July 8th, breaking his jaw. Law enforcement says the fight apparently started with a verbal argument.

According to police, Gibson was booked on 2nd degree battery and later bonded out.

11:42 AM PT -- "Boobie" Gibson issued a statement to TMZ ... confirming he turned himself in to authorities earlier today.

Additionally, Gibson tells us ... "Earlier this month during the Essence Music Festival, I was involved in an incident with other individuals while I was out with my wife."

He continues, "It's unfortunate that some see opportunity in taking advantage of people who work hard for what they have achieved."

Gibson says he takes pride in being a role model for his son and other kids who look up to him -- and adds, "Once all the facts of the incident come out, I expect to be fully vindicated."

Keyshia Cole's husband Daniel "Boobie" Gibson -- a professional basketball player -- has been arrested in New Orleans today ... and according to reports, he's been charged with assault and battery.

TMZ has confirmed ... 27-year-old Gibson -- who played for the Cleveland Cavaliers last season -- turned himself in to the New Orleans Police Department earlier today.

The details surrounding the alleged assault and battery are unclear -- and cops have not identified the accuser.

There are reports that the alleged attack occurred at the Essence Festival earlier this month.

Gibson was released from custody at 11:09 AM local time.

The lead guitarist for legendary punk band Bad Religion claims his wife is "unstable and violent" and has attacked him on multiple occasions -- once with a freaking clothes hanger.

52-year-old Greg Hetson claims he and his 28-year-old wife Alia have been on the rocks since they got married in 2011 -- go figure. Tensions reached a fever pitch this week, after Alia got a restraining order, claiming he threw her on the floor during a blowout argument.

Greg filed his own legal docs, insisting HE'S the one who's been physically abused, and he cited multiple incidents. He claims ...

-- She forcibly shoved an apple core in his mouth
-- She pushed him out of their car and drove off, dragging him down the road
-- She attacked him with a clothes hanger and hockey equipment

He also says she stole $18k from their joint bank account. Good luck on that one, Greg.

Beth Chapman is learning the hard way ... you don't call another chick a whore and a slut in Colorado ... because she's now facing imminent arrest.

Beth and hubby Dog the Bounty Hunter were fishing at a lake earlier this month when a car roared by ... which didn't sit well with the famous couple and their kids. Beth allegedly began berating the teenage passenger, whom she called a tramp, a whore and a slut, among other choice words.

The situation escalated ... and Beth called 911, claiming one of the people in the party she confronted was ominously carrying a gun with his hand on the grip.

By the time cops arrived, Beth and her brood had split. But the teen filed a criminal harassment complaint. Under Colorado law, if someone taunts, challenges or uses "coarse language" against someone, it's a crime. It appears slut and whore qualify.

So cops issued a summons for Beth to appear in court on the misdemeanor harassment charge. Law enforcement tells TMZ ... they called her on her cell several times to come down to the station to pick up the summons, but she blew them off.

So police issued an arrest warrant, which means Dog could make some money by cuffing his wife and taking her to the station -- kidding.

Cops tell us ... Beth's lawyer has already contacted them, and arranged for Beth to turn herself in and accept the summons.

Kanye West must have a really good lawyer, because law enforcement sources tell us it's virtually certain he will NOT be charged with ANY crime in connection with last week's paparazzo attack.

Here's the way we're told it will play out.

LAPD robbery detectives are investigating the photog's allegation that Kanye tried to steal his camera -- but our sources say that dog won't hunt. The D.A. will NEVER charge Kanye with felony attempted robbery, because there's no proof he tried to pilfer the camera at LAX.

We're told cops will send the attempted robbery file to the D.A. and they expect it will be rejected within days.

The next step -- the file goes to the L.A. City Attorney for a possible misdemeanor criminal battery prosecution. But here's why that won't happen. We're told Kanye is willing to ante up some cash to make the case go away, and it's perfectly legal. It's called a civil compromise and it's done everyday.

So Kanye will skate ... and probably attack another photog.

"Curb Your Enthusiasm" star Jeff Garlin went ballistic on a tiny helpless woman inside her car, screaming, giving her the finger, and smashing her window with his bare hands ... all over a parking space ... this according to the alleged victim, and now she's suing his pants off.

A woman named Rachel Depaz filed the lawsuit against the actor for assault and destruction of personal property ... stemming from his arrest last month in Studio City.

In the docs -- obtained by TMZ -- Depaz says it all started when Garlin blocked her in a CVS parking lot and refused to move out of the way. The two exchanged (possibly rude) gestures and eventually Garlin snapped, getting out of his car.

Depaz says Garlin then "slammed his fist against the driver's side window so hard that it broke the glass."

In the docs, Depaz describes herself as 5'2" and says she was in fear for her life, calling Garlin a "very large, powerful and threatening man." FYI -- Garlin's about 6'1" and pretty heavy.

Depaz is suing for unspecified damages.

Former NFL running back Larry Johnson has struck a plea deal in his domestic violence case -- and won't spend a single day behind bars for allegedly choking out his ex-GF during an argument in a Vegas hotel.

TMZ broke the story ... Johnson's GF claimed the ex-KC Chiefs player grabbed her by the neck and strangled her so hard during a 2012 spat at the Bellagio hotel, she lost consciousness.

When hotel security responded to the scene, Johnson was still fuming and told the guard, "I'll rip your f**king vocal cords out," ... so said the police report obtained by TMZ.

But today, Johnson struck a deal with Vegas prosecutors ... in which he agreed to plead no contest to misdemeanor domestic battery and assault ... and in exchange, NO JAIL.

Instead, Johnson got 1 year probation, 48 hours of community service, six months of counseling classes and must pay a $345 fine.

Chris Brown and Drake now have something else in common besides Rihanna -- a New York judge just ruled they don't owe a CENT to a nightclub they brawled next to last summer, TMZ has learned.

As we reported, Brown and Drake were sued for $16 million by Entertainment Enterprises, the company behind Greenhouse nightclub in NYC.

Greenhouse is adjacent to W.i.P nightclub -- where Chris and Drake's entourages got into a massive bottle-throwing brawl last June -- and EE said their reputation took a massive hit following the ordeal because of its proximity to Greenhouse. EE said the brawl cost them a lot of money.

Drake responded to the lawsuit, saying it wasn't his problem -- because he can't control how the media reported the incident -- and this week, the judge in the case took his side.

The judge said Drake and Chris had no duty to the club to behave -- especially because their brawl didn't even occur on Greenhouse's premises -- and while nightclub brawls are unfortunate, they're not uncommon ... which means EE can't just sue whenever a fight happens.

The lawsuit was tossed out.

Former "Real World" d-bag Puck can't seem to stay out of jail ... he was just arrested again on charges of domestic violence, TMZ has learned.

Puck -- real name David Rainey -- was popped on July 13th in L.A. and charged with inflicting bodily injury on a woman who cops say is a "spouse, former spouse, cohabitant or former cohabitant" of Puck (a.k.a. domestic violence). He was also charged with trying to stop the woman from reporting it.

Specifically, law enforcement sources tell us ... Puck and the woman got into a physical altercation, but when she tried to call the police ... Puck allegedly grabbed the phone away and hung it up.

He's currently behind bars. Bail is set for $50,000.

The photog who was attacked by Kanye West at LAX Friday is the SAME paparazzo who was attacked by Britney Spears in the famous umbrella incident ... TMZ has learned.

The pap -- who goes by the name Dano -- was on the receiving end of crazy Britney's Mary Poppins-style attack back in 2007. The word on the street was that Dano was more than a tad aggressive.

After the umbrella incident ... Dano put the umbrella (she left it on the street and he picked it up) on eBay. He also put the Ford Explorer she dented on the website and the bidding reached more than $30k.

But those figures are small potatoes ... we're told he also raked in a fortune from his video of the incident.

As for Friday's incident ... we broke the story .... Dano wants to press charges and Kanye is now a felony suspect for attempted robbery.

5:28 PM PT -- The victim wants to press charges against Kanye ... law enforcement sources tell TMZ. What's more, our sources say he's been interviewed by cops and they've determined he did indeed suffer injuries during the attack. Cops will refer the case to the D.A. as a felony attempted robbery and not a battery case. The routine is to go after the suspect for the most serious charge.

Kanye West has been named a felony suspect in the LAX attack Friday afternoon ... TMZ has learned.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... police suspect Kanye committed an attempted robbery when he assaulted a photog at the airport and tried to jack his camera.

The case has now been transferred to the Robbery Homicide Unit and cops are currently putting a file together.

Our sources say the case will be referred to the L.A. County D.A. for possible prosecution.

The victim was taken to the hospital after the attack. His condition is unknown.

A lot happened this week ... another Kanye attack, a racist attack against Oprah by a jealous actress and a venomous reaction to a magazine cover. So we gotta ask ...

THIS VIDEO IS CRAZY ... Kanye West viciously attacked another photog at LAX Friday afternoon -- and it was so bad ... paramedics rushed to the scene.

Kanye was on his way out of the airport when he was swarmed with paparazzi, snapping pictures. One photog -- not TMZ -- probed Kanye with a bunch of questions.

Kanye told the man not to ask him questions, but he kept going -- and Kanye attacked, attempting to wrestle the camera from the guy's hands, and the man fell down. Kanye then immediately jumped into a waiting car and took off. Paramedics and police rushed to the scene.

Kanye had been out of the country since last week ... when he laid down his now-infamous anti-pap rules, telling our photog NEVER TO TALK TO HIM EVER. The extent of the photog's injuries are unclear.

Amanda Bynes was unceremoniously ejected from a Ritz-Carlton in NYC Thursday after allegedly smoking weed in her hotel room and being so rude to hotel staff ... she made one poor girl cry ...sources tell TMZ.

Amanda begs to differ, telling us she left the hotel voluntarily -- and does NOT smoke weed.

Our sources say Amanda was a nightmare from the get-go, smoking weed everyday despite warnings from hotel staff. We're told Amanda tried using spray chemicals to mask the weed smell.

But that's not it ... we're told Amanda was unspeakably rude to the hotel staff, telling the front desk girl she was "too ugly" to check her in. We're told Amanda then offered her plastic surgeon's services to the desk girl in question ... and the tears started flowing.

The bad behavior continued until Thursday .... Amanda was scheduled to check out at noon, but the hotel staff had had enough ... and kicked her out several hours before mandatory check out.

In case you're wondering where Amanda's going next -- we're told she was last seen getting into a cab headed to LaGuardia Airport ... bound for L.A..

Kanye West must have spiked the Kool-Aid that Kris Jenner drank, because only a drunk lady would concoct such a ridiculous justification for Kanye West's violent outburst at LAX last week.

Kris appeared on "The Talk" Thursday and urged people not to come down on Kim Kardashian's baby daddy for breaking our camera -- after our photog dared to speak and compliment the rapper.

Kris feels like it's important to know what happened in the 15 minutes before the attack. As far as our camera guy goes ... the answer is nothing. Beyond that, she's kidding, right?

The DJ who claims Justin Bieber spat in his face inside of a nightclub in Ohio last week has lawyered up -- and filed a police report against the singer ... TMZ has learned.

The man behind the allegation is Addison Ulhaq -- a DJ at the Social Room in Columbus -- who told police the trouble began on July 13 when Bieber's security team thought he was taking pictures of the singer inside the VIP room of the club.

Addison -- who's a junior at Ohio State University and a neuroscience major -- says he didn't snap ANY photos ... but Bieber didn't buy his denial and cussed him out and spat in his face.

The police report, obtained by TMZ, reads -- "The victim stated that the suspect told him that 'His mother was a bitch, his father was a bitch and he is a bitch.'"

Addison's lawyers say Bieber's spit assault left saliva and mucus in Addison's eye, nose, and mouth ... disgusting.

Following the alleged altercation, Addison said he got tested for Hepatitis, but the test came back negative.

In the police report, cops note -- "The victim stated that he does not want anything done at this time and just wants to document the incident."

It's unclear if Addison plans to file a lawsuit ... but it definitely looks like he will.

So far, no criminal charges have been filed.

Nipsey Hussle tells TMZ ... "hyper-sensitive LAPD officers" overreacted and used excessive force when stopping the rapper and his crew at a Trayvon Martin rally yesterday -- and he insists he did NOTHING wrong.

We broke the story ... Nipsey was handcuffed after cops believed he may have been brandishing a gun ... but later let him go when they realized he was not in possession of a firearm.

Now, Hussle tells us ... cops blamed the mix-up on officers who were monitoring the event in a police helicopter ... and they believed they saw Nipsey with a gun.

Nipsey says the confusion may have stemmed from an incident with a random person who threw a bottle at Nipsey's car. Nipsey says he and his crew got out of the car to say something to the bottle-thrower ... then quickly got back into their car and drove away. Moments later, they were surrounded by cops.

Nipsey tells TMZ ... he's especially upset at the way cops treated his brother (who is disabled) -- "They pushed his face on the concrete. They dropped a knee in his spine then twisted his arm and cuffed him while he was not resisting."

Nipsey says cops held them on scene for 4 HOURS ... before they eventually determined no one in Nipsey's crew had a gun.
