Joe Jonas knows when you’re as hot as Gigi Hadid you’re not single for long ... which would be a great reason for him to be so damn close to her in this pic -- but it might not be what it seems.

Newly single Gigi -- who just broke up with Cody Simpson -- was spotted hanging out with Joe in L.A. on Wednesday ... and cruising puppies in the window of Bark N' Bitches.

Normally, shopping for a joint pet is a sure sign of coupledom -- but a source close to Joe and Gigi tells us they're just longtime friends.

Then again ... you gotta start somewhere.

P.S. no puppy was purchased.

Nick Jonas is pulling double duty ... hosting The Kids Choice Awards and, maybe more importantly, delivering booze to thirsty chicks.

TMZ spoke with Angela Mayhew who says that Jonas came to her West Hollywood apartment with a bottle of pinot grigio for her and her friends. But he didn't stop there ... she tells us Jonas joined in on the fun, having a glass himself and playing two songs.

With Tiki Barber calling for Coughlin's job, Nick Jonas -- a huge NY Giants fan -- is still supporting his favorite head coach, telling TMZ Sports he loves the guy ... despite the team's 3-7 record.

Terrell Owens is taking on Kevin Jonas and Gilbert Gottfried in a battle for Donald Trump's approval -- because they're all on the next cast of "Celebrity Apprentice."

Joe hit up a Copperfield show at the MGM Grand where he got pulled up on stage and David asked him when he last got laid. Joe said it's been about a month ... the crowd loved it.

The main event went down Saturday at Beacher's Madhouse ... where Joe was once again called up on stage. But instead of a magician, he was entertained by two little people strippers ... a mini Miley Cyrus and a girl who holds the distinction of being one of the smallest strippers in the world.

We're told the Beau Joie Champagne was flowing ... along with several bottles of Casamigos Tequila sent over by George Clooney.

Joe Jonas made a spontaneous endorsement for a fan’s high school presidential campaign ... which put her over the top on election day!

Now, the hot topic is whether JJ's endorsement constitutes tampering.

Joe Jonas wields great political power ... among high schoolers at least ... after his campaign endorsement helped a girl win her student council's presidency.

Here's how it went down ... the JoBro was at Monday night's Los Angeles Kings game when he was approached by a fan for a photo. She then took it a step further ... and asked him to film a short video telling the students of Culver City High School to vote for her for student council president.

He did and Mia posted the vid to her Instagram page that night ... and won the election Wednesday morning. Mia (middle) tells TMZ she doesn't think she won the election JUST because of the video, but she did have a few people in the halls at school tell her they voted for her because of it.

Joe tells TMZ, "Really excited the ad worked! I've actually launched a political ad firm - but only for high school and college campaigns, and only while I'm at sporting events. We're open for business!"

Kevin Jonas -- in an effort to find new ways to make a buck -- has a baronial way of making a quick killing ... renting out his sprawling New Jersey manor and throwing in Super Bowl tickets.

Kevin's crib is 36 minutes from the stadium so ... for the convenience and the amenities he wants $20K a night. He's throwing in 4 tickets to the big game.

Of course ... WHERE you sit in MetLife Stadium is critical. Kevin says the seats are good ... but he's not specific.
