Katherine Jackson to Produce MJ Movies

Published | Updated

TMZ has learned ... Katherine Jackson is knee-deep in a business deal to produce and distribute several movies on Michael Jackson's life, and she is on a collision course with the MJ estate.

Howard Mann, the guy who co-authored Katherine's coffee table book, "Never Can Say Goodbye," is also producing a movie that will feature video from Michael Jackson's childhood through the end of his life.

We're told Katherine has hundreds of hours of video, including the family's big move from Gary, Indiana to L.A. after The Jackson 5 signed with Motown.

We're told Mann just bought the rights to 26 hours of Michael Jackson video ... owned by Michael Jackson's former business partner/confidant Marc Schaffel. We're told Mann has paid Schaffel in the eight figures for the video.

Now here's the problem ... the Michael Jackson estate has the exclusive right to market Michael Jackson's name and image. We're told Mann and company are comfortable with their legal position, because the beneficiaries of the estate -- Katherine and Michael's kids -- are profiting participants in the movie. In fact, Mann tells TMZ he and Katherine plan on releasing a series of movies.

The estate would not comment, but as far as our research shows, there's no loophole when it comes to marketing Michael Jackson's name and image -- whether Katherine and the kids are beneficiaries or not.

'Bueller' Star Busted Irresponsible Sex Offender

Published | Updated

When Jeffrey Jones -- the guy who played Principal Rooney in "Ferris Bueller" -- turned 63 last September, he forgot one very important birthday ritual ... updating his sex offender registration.

As you may know, back in 2003 Jones pled no contest to paying a minor for the purpose of taking sexually explicit photos ... and was required to register annually as a sex offender.

But according to the L.A. County District Attorney's Office, Jones blew off the requirement back in September ... a big no-no with officials. In fact, it's a felony.

Last Wednesday, cops finally caught up with the actor and arrested him. He was later freed on $20,000 bail.

If convicted, Jones faces up to three years in state prison.

Sylvester Stallone Partners with Gotti's Son

Published | Updated

TMZ has learned Sylvester Stallone is in serious talks with "Junior" John Gotti to make a movie about his mobster icon father, the late John Gotti.

Sources say Sly will play Gotti, who died in prison in 2002. The story is based on "Junior" John's recollections of his tumultuous relationship with his dad.

"The Dapper Don" was the boss of the Gambino crime family -- one of the most powerful mafia families ever.

Gotti was convicted in 1992 of committing 13 murders. "Junior" Gotti was convicted of racketeering and got out of prison in 2005. He was indicted for racketeering and murder conspiracy in 2008 but the case ended in a mistrial ... and then "Junior" wrote a children's book.

As for Sly playing Gotti -- good casting, we might add -- we're told the project is far enough along that he's ready to pick a screenwriter.

Bam Concussion Screwed Up 'Jackass 3-D' Shoot

Published | Updated

Bam Margera has a pretty ridiculous problem on his hands -- he says the concussion he suffered this past weekend screwed up his upcoming shoot for "Jackass 3-D" ... because his stunt involved being hit in the head.

Bam tells TMZ he flew from West Chester, PA to Los Angeles yesterday so he and the boys could shoot the intro to the movie -- in which they're all supposed to take gnarly shots to the dome in 3-D slow motion.

Bam says his head-shot scene has to be rewritten because he suffered a concussion and internal bleeding on Saturday -- when he was allegedly attacked by a bat-wielding 59-year-old woman.

As for Bam's replacement scene ... it's probably gonna hurt anyway.
