Vivica A. Fox should've gotten busted this weekend ... for excessive chugging of Will Smith flavored Kool-Aid -- after actually claiming "After Earth" is a great movie.

Vivica looked our camera guy dead in the eye and said ... unsolicited mind you ... "I totally recommend for you guys to go check it out this weekend starring Will Smith, Jaden Smith. It's awesome."

Vivica couldn't stop gushing ... you have to hear the rest of the over-the-top promotion for her old "Independence Day" co-star.

It's kind of hysterical considering 'Earth' has been universally panned by critics who've said things like, "Summer 2013 has its first bomb" ... and, "Yes, it's that bad."

So, who's lying ... Vivica or the critics?

Jennifer Lawrence took a break this weekend from winning Oscars (and the 74th annual Hunger Games) to get back in her blue Mystique makeup on the set of "X-Men: Days of Future Past" in Montreal.

Her body of work never disappoints.

Sylvester Stallone says he's flattered that Bollywood is gunning to remake "Rambo" ... telling TMZ the guy rumored to play the lead role is way more RIPPED than he ever was.

Sly -- who's still in pretty damn good shape -- was leaving Cafe Roma in Bev Hills this weekend when he told us he was "flattered" by reports that Indian actor John Abraham would take over the role.

"Actually, he's built better than I ever was," Stallone told us.

FYI -- Abraham is a 40-year-old former model who's become a huge action star in Bollywood ... but in better shape than Stallone?? He was pretty jacked in "Rocky 4."

Matt Damon and Michael Douglas getting naked in jacuzzi was a glorious occasion ... at least according to Prince von Ahole who can't stop gushing about the A-listers stripping down while filming "Behind the Candelabra" inside his digs.

As TMZ first reported, Zsa Zsa Gabor's hubby struck a deal with the people behind HBO's Liberace-themed movie to film in his mansion for a few weeks, in exchange for a $70,000 payday.

Now that the movie has aired -- and we've seen what went on behind closed doors -- our photog had to ask ... what was it like to have the celebs running around naked all the time?

In her first red carpet appearance since announcing she underwent a double mastectomy, Angelina Jolie posed for pics with Brad Pitt today at the London premiere of his movie "World War Z."

In an op-ed piece for the New York Times last month, Jolie revealed she underwent a preventative double mastectomy back in February because "doctors estimated that I had an 87 percent risk of breast cancer and a 50 percent risk of ovarian cancer."

Since making the announcement, Jolie has been recovering at home in Los Angeles before taking on her next project -- directing a film called "Unbroken."

Jean Stapleton -- who played the iconic role of Edith Bunker on "All in the Family" died Friday in New York City. She was 90.

According to her family, Stapleton passed away of natural causes.

Stapleton won three Emmys from her work on "All in the Family" opposite Carroll O’Connor’s equally iconic character, Archie Bunker.

Stapleton's last major role was in the 1998 film "You've Got Mail." She played a co-worker of Meg Ryan's character.

Her husband of 26 years, William Putch, passed away in 1983. She is survived by her two children, John and Pamela.

"Wedding Crashers" Owen Wilson, 44, and Vince Vaughn, 43, reunited at the premiere of their new movie "The Internship" in L.A. this week.

Question is ...

Scott Thorson -- Liberace's former lover who was just portrayed by Matt Damon -- has been bailed out of jail by Dennis Hof, the owner of the Bunny Ranch brothel ... TMZ has learned.

Thorson's life with Liberace is the subject of HBO's "Behind the Candelabra" -- but not covered in the movie is the fact Thorson has been sitting behind bars in Reno since February 22 ... waiting to be sentenced on burglary and identity theft charges.

Thorson pled guilty last month after getting busted for using stolen credit cards. Attorney David Houston is representing him at sentencing in July.

Hof tells TMZ he decided to help because he felt Thorson -- who has stage II colon cancer -- was not getting proper treatment in jail.

Philip Seymour Hoffman just got out of detox for a drug problem that was spinning out of control ... a problem he desperately wanted to nip in the bud ... and he's already back doing a movie.

Hoffman -- who struggled with substance abuse in the past but kicked the habit for 23 years -- fell off the wagon more than a year ago. He tells TMZ it started slowly with prescription pills, and recently escalated to snorting heroin.

Hoffman -- who won a Best Actor Oscar in 2006 for "Capote" -- tells us the heroin use only lasted a week or so and he quickly realized he needed help, so he checked himself into a detox facility on the East Coast.

He says he was at the facility for 10 days and checked out last Friday. Hoffman credits what he calls "a great group of friends and family" for helping him seek the treatment he needed to get better.

And at least for now, it seems it worked, because Hoffman is clean and back on a movie set in Europe.

Who you gonna call? The police!

Dan Aykroyd became the focus of a homicide investigation when a landfill worker uncovered film of the actor standing over a bloody corpse -- and it turns out he's guilty ... of making a really bad movie.

Law enforcement officials in Calgary, Canada tell TMZ the dump worker found the damaged film on Wednesday afternoon, and turned it in to police ... thinking he had stumbled upon evidence in a murder.

We're told the employee didn't recognize Aykroyd, but once investigators cleaned the dirty negative they spotted the ghostbuster. Problem is ... they couldn't tell which one of his nearly 100 flicks they were seeing.

Police then contacted All American Speakers -- a company that books celebs for events -- and also Dan's reps ... who revealed the scene was from the 1990 bomb "Loose Cannons."

If you've never heard of it ... that's cool with Dan. When we called about the investigation he told us, "The movie should have been left in the landfill where it belongs."

Case closed.

Looking like the latest Kardashian TV show spin-off, movie director M. Night Shyamalan brought along his gorgeous brunette wife and three daughters to the premiere of "After Earth" in New York City on Wednesday.

While the 42-year-old "The Sixth Sense" filmmaker has not revealed any plans to exploit his beautiful brood by having a bunch of cameras follow them around documenting every single scripted scenario, you never know what kind of last minute twist M. Night might have up his sleeve.

The tacky leather jacket Corey Feldman wore in "Dream a Little Dream" has FINALLY been returned to the actor ... TWO YEARS after someone jacked the $100k item right from under his nose, TMZ has learned.

It's a crazy story ... Corey claims someone snatched the coat while he was hanging out at the House of Blues in L.A. back in 2011 ... and years later, it magically resurfaced at a flea market in Boston.

Turns out, the guy who bought the stolen jacket in Boston realized what he had -- and got in touch with Feldman to return it ... but he wanted something in return.

Feldman was willing to play ball and hammered out the following deal:

-- He flew the guy out from Boston to L.A.
-- He put the guy up at the Andaz Hotel on Sunset Blvd.
-- He gave the guy a 6' female bodyguard to "protect him" during his stay
-- He brought the guy on stage during a rock show in L.A.

Feldman also donated some of the profits from his band's concert to a charity of the jacket-holder's choice ... which turned out to be OneFundBoston.org (which benefits victims of the Boston Marathon bombing).

Damon Wayans Jr. became the most popular guy in an ATL nightclub this week ... when he whipped out his credit card and bought a round of 200 SHOTS ... TMZ has learned.

It all went down inside Vanquish nightclub on May 20 -- where DWJ and "New Girl" star Jake Johnson had been shooting a scene for their movie "Let's Be Cops."

We're told the club was packed with more than 200 extras for a crazy bar scene -- and Damon was so pumped about how the scene went down, he sprung for shots ... FOR EVERYONE!

Damon even jumped behind the bar at one point and helped pour the booze ... tequila, vodka and Jägermeister.

Total bill -- $2,300 ... plus tip (we're assuming he tipped).

FYI -- Damon was sporting a full cop outfit for the scene.

"To protect and serve ... booze."

Comedian Chris Tucker is finally getting serious about paying off his enormous $12 million tax debt ... so much so the actor cut a check (okay, two checks) for almost $1 MILLION.

As TMZ first reported, the "Rush Hour" star is knee deep in tax problems. The IRS says he owes over $11.5 million in unpaid taxes from a slew of years. Plus, the state of Georgia says he owes $590,000 from 2007. All totaled, he owes over $12 million.

CT took the hint to cough up some cash and paid off the GA state tax lien ... PLUS another GA tax lien no one even knew he had. The breakdown:

1. $592,594.82 for 2007 -- PAID
2. $392,332.16 for 2006 -- PAID

All in all, "The Silver Linings" star dropped $985.028.98 chipping away at those pesky tax bills.

Nickelodeon is brainwashing your kids to think Italians are all bootlegging mafiosos and it MUST be stopped -- so says a pissed off Italian-American advocacy group, demanding parents BOYCOTT Nick's new flick.

The Italian-American One Voice Coalition -- a major national org. fighting against negative Italian-American stereotypes -- is peeved over the TV movie, "Nicky Deuce" ... set to bow on May 27th.

FYI :The flick is about a dorky Italian-American teenager who transforms himself into a mobster (to be cool, duh) ... just like his Italian-American uncle, who has mafia ties. Like "The Sopranos" with kids.

But One Voice tells TMZ ... this "trash television" is an affront to their culture, meant to "brainwash a new generation with an insidious and hurtful stereotype of Italian Americans."

"It is beyond reprehensible that Nickelodeon would so grossly abdicate any semblance of corporate responsibility and target young children with a biased, stereotypical movie."

They add, "We are appealing to all parents to not have their children watch this garbage."
