James Corden Sorry for the Bad Weinstein Jokes
James Corden is apologizing for making light of the Harvey Weinstein scandal with tasteless jokes he made onstage ... and after Rose McGowan teared into him online.
Corden issued an apology Sunday saying "To be clear, sexual assault is no laughing matter. I was not trying to make light of Harvey’s inexcusable behavior, but to shame him, the abuser, not his victims. I am truly sorry for anyone offended, that was never my intention."
The "Late Late Show" star caught a ton of flak this weekend for jokes he cracked while hosting the amfAR Gala on Friday in L.A.
Straight out gate, host @JKCorden with Harvey Weinstein jokes. Too soon? Some laughs, some groans #amfARLosAngeles pic.twitter.com/nx88w5UwUe
@chrissgardner
Corden's comments were met with a lot of groans and little laughs, but he persisted and kept the offensive Weinstein jokes coming through the night. One of his biggest critics was Weinstein accuser Rose McGowan, who called Corden a "MOTHERF****** PIGLET" on Twitter.
3) @CBS DONATE TO @ELAWC OR YOU TOO SUPPORT RAPE CULTURE #fuckjamescorden
@rosemcgowan
If there's one thing we've learned this week ... it's that Rose knows no filter ... and takes no prisoners on the subject of Weinstein. Seems Corden knows that all too well now.

Harvey Weinstein Au Revoir Legion d’Honneur! FR Prez Revoking Award
Harvey Weinstein's crumbling rep is now an international affair -- France plans to strip him of an honor they hand out to stand-up guys ... which their Prez says he ain't anymore.
Emmanuel Macron announced Sunday that France was moving to revoke Weinstein's Legion of Honor -- the highest French order of merit that can be bestowed for military or civil acts. Weinstein got the distinction in March 2012.
As we reported ... Weinstein just got expelled from The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences this weekend as well.
Up until now, France was saying they were only considering revoking Weinstein's Legion of Honor in the wake of multiple accusations of sexual harassment and assault.
Looks like they've turned the corner on the issue ... Macron says he's already asked the French Academy to begin the process of stripping Weinstein.

Woody Allen 'Sad' For Weinstein Hopefully No Witch Hunts!
6:25 PM PT -- Woody Allen has clarified his "sad" comment over Harvey Weinstein in a statement to Variety ... saying " When I said I felt sad for Harvey Weinstein; I thought it was clear the meaning was because he is a sad, sick man ...Lest there be any ambiguity, this statement clarifies my intention and feelings."
Woody Allen says he feels "sad" for Harvey Weinstein after being accused of sexual harassment and assault -- but he also hopes no witch hunts come out of this.
Woody told the BBC Saturday that he felt for everyone involved in the Weinstein scandal -- including the women making the allegations, and Harvey himself.
He explained ... "The whole Harvey Weinstein thing is very sad for everybody involved. Tragic for the poor women that were involved, sad for Harvey that (his) life is so messed up."
Allen -- who's been accused of sexually abusing children -- went on to say he'd heard rumors about Weinstein before, but never took them seriously because he was only interested in making his own movies while working with the guy.
And while Allen says he hopes this can be a teachable moment in Hollywood, he also doesn't "want it to lead to a witch hunt atmosphere, a Salem atmosphere, where every guy in an office who winks at a woman is suddenly having to call a lawyer to defend himself."
Pressing his luck?

Harvey Weinstein Booted from The Academy
Another huge blow for Harvey Weinstein -- The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has kicked him out.
The Oscar winner is no longer part of the Oscar club after the board of governors -- which includes Hollywood royalty like Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks -- met at their headquarters in Beverly Hills Saturday and voted to expel him ... stripping away his lifetime membership.
The Academy issued a statement after the meeting, saying their decision was made to "send a message that the era of willful ignorance and shameful complicity in sexually predatory behavior and workplace harassment in our industry is over."
It continued ... "What's at issue here is a deeply troubling problem that has no place in our society. The Board continues to work to establish ethical standards of conduct that all Academy members will be expected to exemplify."
As we've reported ... Weinstein's been fired by his own company and is currently in Arizona for rehab.
He won an Oscar in 1999 for "Shakespeare in Love" and was nominated in 2003 for "Gangs of New York."

'Friday the 13th' Star Hoping to Kill Some Motherf*****s!!! (TGIF the 13th???)
The guy who played Jason Voorhees in the 'Friday the 13th' movies is out for blood -- due to some pent up rage after a 3-hour makeup session.
Kane Hodder tells us he's reprising his role from the seventh 'Friday the 13th' -- when he actually took off the mask -- for "Rock and Shock" horror movie convention in Worcester, Massachusetts. Naturally, it's going down today ... Friday the 13th, and he says this will be his swan song.
Kane made it clear he's NOT a fan of the makeup process, but since he had to sit through it ... he'd love to act out a few scenes. Emphasis on ACT. We hope.
Still, there's one awesome reason he'd go through it again. Hollywood's just gotta call.

Harvey Weinstein Will Challenge Firing At Tuesday's Board Meeting
Harvey Weinstein will challenge his firing by The Weinstein Company at this month's Board of Directors meeting ... TMZ has learned.
We're told the firing is on the Board's agenda for the October 17 meeting. Sources connected with Weinstein say he will be present by phone -- Weinstein is expected to be in a live-in rehab facility ... we're told he's checking in as early as Friday.
Our sources also say Weinstein's civil lawyer, Patty Glaser, will be present at the meeting as well to make the case.
We're told Weinstein's position -- he did not violate his current contract, which he signed in October 2015. He maintains no sexual harassment complaints were lodged after he signed the contract. We're told TWC never gave Weinstein it's reason for the firing.
What's more, we're told Glaser will argue Weinstein could only be terminated after mediation and arbitration.
We're told the company's position is that it had a right to fire Weinstein immediately and he has a right to challenge the decision in mediation and arbitration.

Powerful men in Hollywood have been preying on women because that's how lots of men are built ... so says "Law & Order" titan Dick Wolf.

Gwyneth Paltrow Courage In the Face of Adversity
Gwyneth Paltrow faced her demon head-on, and she's not hiding after publicly blasting Harvey Weinstein for sexually harassing her.
Gwyneth was out Thursday in Santa Monica, heading to a meeting. It's the first time we've seen her since she accused Weinstein of getting sexually aggressive with her in the mid-'90s when she was 22.
As you know, Weinstein's since been axed from the movie production company he founded after Gwyneth, Ashley Judd, Rose McGowan and many other women came forward with similar stories.

Harvey Weinstein Dinner Before Rehab in AZ
Harvey Weinstein had what looked like just another night out with friends Thursday, which could not be further from the truth ... because he was with his team of doctors.
Weinstein had dinner at Uncle Sal's restaurant in Scottsdale, AZ ... what we're told will be his last supper before checking into a nearby rehab facility. The restaurant is in a strip mall 15 minutes from the Phoenician Resort, where he checked in Wednesday night after flying from L.A.
The fallen mogul broke bread with 3 guys and a woman -- who we're told are part of his medical team -- and eyewitnesses say you would never know Weinstein was in the eye of a ferocious storm. One witness said, "He was acting normal, fine, like he didn't have a care."
He clearly has a care. As we reported, his daughter called 911 Wednesday, saying her dad was suicidal and upset, although when cops arrived she took it back and said they were just having an argument.
As Weinstein goes for help in the land of McCain, his lawyers are hammering The Weinstein Company. TMZ broke the story ... TWC may have violated his contract by firing him. The contract shockingly allowed Weinstein to stay on with the company -- regardless of how many sexual harassment claims were lodged -- as long as he paid the settlement costs and a penalty to the company.

Rose McGowan I'm Slaying Jeff Bezos Now ... You Knew About Weinstein!!
Rose McGowan is wasting no time -- shortly after getting back on Twitter she launched an attack on Jeff Bezos and Amazon Studios ... but it's still all about Harvey Weinstein.
Rose posted a pic of a female samurai with the caption "it's on" ... then lit into Bezos over a blown script deal and Weinstein. Rose claims she told the head of Amazon Studios Weinstein had sexually assaulted her.
1) @jeffbezos I told the head of your studio that HW raped me. Over & over I said it. He said it hadn’t been proven. I said I was the proof.
@rosemcgowan
She also hints Bezos and Amazon were going to sell her script to The Weinstein Co. -- or as she put it ... "a Weinstein bailout" -- which would clearly piss her off.
There's a lot more, but Rose's bottom-line is she wants Bezos to "stop funding rapists, alleged pedos and sexual harassers."
5) @jeffbezos Be the change you want to see in the world. Stand with truth. #ROSEARMY #Amazon
@rosemcgowan
As we reported, Twitter blocked Rose's account after she posted someone's phone number ... but she's not backing down from her public attacks on Hollywood power players.
We've reached out to Amazon ... no word back yet.

Ben Affleck 'Groping' Was All On Camera and I Liked It ... Canadian Host Says
Ben Affleck did NOTHING wrong by holding and caressing a TV host in 2004, 'cause it was nothing but a gag for cameras ... according to the woman herself.
We spoke to Anne-Marie Losique -- who was aggressively snuggled by Ben in the interview that surfaced amid the Harvey Weinstein scandal -- and she has zero gripes. She's aware many people see it as inappropriate, but stresses all of the heavy flirting ONLY happened on camera.
She says it was a thing she and Ben always did when she interviewed him. Anne-Marie adds ... when the camera was off, Ben was totally professional.
As we reported ... Ben apologized Wednesday to ex-'TRL' host Hilarie Burton for groping her breast in 2003. He's said nothing about the Anne-Marie clip, and based on everything she says ... there's no reason for him to do so.

Harvey Weinstein 'I'm Not Doing Okay, Gotta Get Help!' And Screw Those Celebs
Harvey Weinstein pled his case for getting a second chance in Hollywood on his way out of town -- but he also seemed to take a parting shot at the celebs who've been bashing him.
Weinstein left his daughter's L.A. home shortly after 3 PM Wednesday, and directed the paparazzi as if he were on the set of one of his Oscar-winning movies. It might be his last film for a while -- Weinstein made it clear he's not in a good place, begged for a second chance and admitted, "I gotta get help, guys."
TMZ broke the story ... Weinstein's now getting that help. He took off on a private jet Wednesday evening, bound for an Arizona treatment facility.
Interestingly, in this video he's leaving his daughter Remy's home ... the same place police responded earlier in the day when she called 911, and said her father was "suicidal and depressed."
As Weinstein bolted for the airport, he told photogs he was "not like those f**king pricks who treat you like s**t." Watch ... sure sounds like he's referring to Hollywood's A-list, many of whom have condemned him over the last 48 hours.
Grudge much?

The spokesperson added ... "Twitter is proud to empower and support the voices on our platform, especially those that speak truth to power. We stand with the brave women and men who use Twitter to share their stories."
Rose McGowan has been booted from Twitter for tweets attacking Ben Affleck and Harvey Weinstein.

And Matt Damon wasn't spared ... Rose tweeted, "What's it like to be a spineless profiteer who stays silent?"
And Harvey Weinstein was in Rose's sights ... after the New Yorker tweeted the police audio of Harvey's conversations with Ambra Gutierrez, Rose tweeted, "Now imagine his huge size, its monster face/body closing in on you. In one second your life path is not yours. You have been stolen."
And of her own encounter Rose posted a pic of herself and tweeted, "This is the girl that was hurt by a monster. This is who you are shaming with your silence."
It appears Rose just got a time-out ... she may be back as early as today ... but Twitter made its point.
