12:31 PM PT -- Cam suffered two "transverse fractures" in his lower back and will remain in the hospital overnight ... according to the Carolina Panthers.

Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton was hospitalized after his truck was flipped over in a car wreck Tuesday in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Officials say two cars were involved in the wreck ... Cam's truck and a sedan ... which collided on a bridge right in front of Bank of America Stadium where the Panthers play.

Cam was seen on his back on the side of the bridge where the accident took place ... grimacing in pain. Several people were seen tending to the 25-year-old QB.

We're told Cam kept trying to stand up after the accident ... but couldn't ... and eventually relented and waited for help to arrive.

Multiple emergency vehicles raced to the scene. Cam reportedly told paramedics he did NOT want to be transported to the hospital ... but eventually gave in.

He was placed on a stretcher and loaded into an ambulance which rushed him to a nearby hospital.

As for the condition of the other driver, officials tell us the person was also transported to the hospital -- but did not suffer any life-threatening injuries.

A witness at the scene tells TMZ Sports ... Newton was "t-boned" from the left side, swerved, and then flipped over.

The witness says he observed Cam crawling out of the back window of the truck ... he walked over to the curb and laid down.

The witness says, "Cam didn't blow any lights or stop signs" and believes Cam had the right of way through the intersection where he was struck.

Kansas City Chiefs safety Eric Berry has been diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma, which his doctors have described as "very treatable and potentially curable" through chemotherapy.

Dr. Christopher Flowers, a lymphoma specialist at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, said in a statement, "The goal of Mr. Berry's treatment is to cure his lymphoma and we are beginning that treatment now."

Berry said through a statement, "My family and I are very grateful for the amount of support we have received over the last couple of weeks. I can’t tell you enough how much I appreciate all the words of encouragement, the blessings and well wishes."

Rapper Beanie Sigel was rushed to a local hospital Friday morning in New Jersey after he was shot in the stomach ... and cops believe there was a scuffle before he got capped.

Pleasantville PD officials say they responded to a shooting around 10AM and discovered Sigel on-scene ... but he was NOT unconscious.

We're told the rapper was immediately taken to a local hospital and rushed into surgery.

Cops believe there was a physical altercation before the shooting ... but they don't know if the other man on scene was involved, or just a witness -- since he's refusing to talk.

Police are waiting to interview Beanie for more info ... so as of now, there are no suspects.

Victor Cruz won't let a busted right knee keep him from hitting the party scene ... 'cause the NY Giants star hit up a huge party in Miami Thursday night -- with his knee brace -- and we've got the pics.

Despite the fact he's recovering from a season-ending torn patellar tendon in his right knee that he suffered during a game back in October, Victor was seen laughing and having a great time at the party.

Meanwhile, back in NY ... Cruz's teammates -- who have lost 7 straight games -- are preparing to take on the Titans this weekend.

Cruz seems to be making good progress on the knee -- he looked pretty spry while walking through a NY mall a few weeks ago ... and told us he expects to be busting out his salsa again very soon.

Video of Tracy Morgan walking around -- 6 months after the accident that nearly killed him -- is pretty damn inspiring ... considering what the comedian's gone through.

Tracy made a rare public appearance outside a NJ post office on Wednesday ... moving slowly and gingerly with the help of a walker. His fiancée, Megan Wollover was nearby for support.

As for how his recovery is going ... a determined Tracy told the camera guy, "I'm fighting everyday."

Dr. Nancy Snyderman once again tried apologizing for breaking her Ebola quarantine ... but again, there were asterisks and excuses.

Snyderman sat down Wednesday morning with Matt Lauer and in her own way tried apologizing for breaking her Ebola quarantine.

She said she was sorry, but then made excuses ... she and her crew had taken their temps for days and they were fine ... somehow justifying her decision to break the quarantine for a restaurant run.

She said she was sorry for "adding to the confusion" about Ebola ... though we're pretty sure Nancy is the only person confused about the meaning of the word "quarantine."

Two guys accused of attacking a "Young and the Restless" actor on Thanksgiving Day ... have been charged with a slew of crimes ... including assault with a deadly weapon and DUI.

Corey Sligh was walking in a Rite Aid parking lot on turkey day when the alleged assailants -- Dusan Lilic and Nikola Ilic -- hit him with their car. Prosecutors say the suspects were speeding through the parking lot, and got pissed when Sligh and his GF asked them to slow down.

According to prosecutors they smashed Sligh with the car door, then got out and beat him to a bloody pulp. Sligh had to be hospitalized with multiple injuries.

NHL legend Gordie Howe has suffered a major stroke ... and is currently being treated in the intensive care unit at a hospital in Lubbock, TX ... this according to his son.

The 86-year-old Hall of Famer has been experiencing ministrokes for the past several months ... and had been recovering from a more serious stroke he suffered on October 26th.

Howe had regained movement in his right side and seemed to be doing better when this latest stroke occurred.

A man who sent Ariana Grande a 42-pound pumpkin and other weird gifts showed up at the NYC headquarters of her record label wearing a Santa suit ... and that was enough to put him on a psych hold.

Tim Normandin had been warned by cops to stop harassing Ariana ... in addition to the pumpkin, he sent her Yankee candles, a $200 anklet from Kay Jewelers and a rock from the White Mountains of New Hampshire.

Doctors performing Joan Rivers' fatal procedure were rooting around in her throat with a surgical instrument even as her vital signs deteriorated ... this according to a new report.

And the doctors delayed calling 911 for a critical 10 minutes and instead tried reviving her themselves ... this according to the NY Post.

The Post report says even before Joan went into cardiac arrest ... her pulse and blood pressure were dropping quickly -- a sign she was in the danger zone -- but the doctors continued scoping her larynx and trachea.

Joan's pulse had reportedly sunk to 47 prior to the anethesiologist administering Propofol.

TMZ broke the story ... a federal report showed there were major problems with the amount of Propofol used on Joan.

Dr. Lawrence Cohen from Yorkville Endoscopy and Joan's own ENT, Dr. Gwen Korovin attempted to resuscitate Rivers, but failed during the critical 10 minutes.

Dr. Korovin and Dr. Cohen have not responded to reports detailing alleged errors during the procedure.

David Prowse told the Mirror.uk he'd love to join the original cast with a cameo in the upcoming trilogy ... even though Darth Vader is dead -- but says it would be difficult due to his condition.

Scott Stapp is irrational, incoherent, delusional, psychotic, dangerous and needs to be involuntarily committed to a mental facility again and he's in great danger because he's trying to detox himself without help ... this according to his estranged wife and mother-in-law.

Jaclyn Stapp and Hayat Nesheiwat filed legal docs Wednesday ... trying to convince a judge Scott needs to be committed for 60 days ... this after he was released from a 3-day psych hold a short time ago.

The women echo what cops said before getting the 3-day hold ... they say Scott refuses to get help and is deep into drugs, including amphetamines, steroids, weed, coke, PCP, Ketamine and others.

They say the Creed frontman has been leaving messages that his son's school is about to be attacked by ISIS, biological weapons are on the way, he's been poisoned and he's threatened to hurt people. He's also drained his bank account and is living out of his truck.

The women say Scott is lying on the video he released -- that he's clean -- and the real issue they say is that he's trying to detox himself which if true can sometimes be fatal.

Scott's wife and mother-in-law also say they fear he'll harm himself or others if he's not committed.

Busta Rhymes looks more like Busta head ... because Friday in New York the rapper face planted off the stage at a concert -- and the results were plasmatic.

Rhymes made a surprise appearance in the wee hours of the morning at Webster Hall during another rapper's concert ... and fell into the crowd after he slipped while leaning into the pit.

We're told Busta went backstage and got cleaned up -- he never re-emerged for the crowd.

Creed frontman Scott Stapp was placed on a psych hold after cops say he had drug-fueled paranoid delusions he's a marked man, and his wife says he hears voices and worries his kid will get attacked by ISIS.

TMZ has obtained a Madison County Florida Sheriff's Dept. report which says deputies found Scott on the side of a road Nov. 13 and he appeared wasted, incoherent and rambling that someone was trying to poison him. Cops placed him on a 72-hour psych hold.

Jaclyn Stapp -- who filed for divorce last month -- then filed new legal docs claiming Scott is off the hinges, threatening to kill himself and his AA sponsor, and she says he has the wherewithal to do it ... he has guns.

According to the police report ... Jaclyn said Scott hears phantom voices and has visions of people on fire. She says he's also paranoid. He left a message with the dean of his kid's school on November 10, warning that the school was about to become the target of an ISIS attack.

As for why he's out of his head, Jaclyn says he's on a potentially fatal drug binge, fueled by steroids, weed, cocaine, PCP, Special K, Crystal meth, and various Rx drugs.

Stapp posted a desperate video Friday, saying he's broke, sometimes homeless and sometimes goes without food. Jaclyn says it's because he blows all of his money on drugs, and has resorted to pawning personal items to fuel his habit.

Jaclyn dismissed her petition Friday to lock Scott up ... we're told she's now talking to Scott and hopes she can accomplish her goal by communicating with him and convincing him he needs help.
