Islandia está desplegando un espectacular y peligroso poder volcánico, con la erupción de un nuevo volcán que está lanzando nubes de lava al cielo después de semanas de un aumento en la actividad sísmica.

Se declaró estado público de emergencia el lunes, luego de que el volcán Grindavík explotara justo al sur del Aeropuerto Internacional de Keflavik y la ciudad capital de Reykjavík. Las imágenes muestran cómo las rocas explotan hasta 300 pies en el aire.

A public state of emergency was declared as the Grindavík volcano exploded Monday ... just south of the Keflavik International Airport and the capital city of Reykjavík, and video footage shows molten rock exploding up to 300 feet into the air.

The eruption created a 2.5-mile fissure, which sent a stream of lava flowing through the surrounding towns ... while hundreds of cubic meters spewed across the Reykjanes peninsula.

The Icelandic Meteorological Office listed the time of eruption at 10:17 PM ... after closely monitoring seismic activity in the area for a while.

The flow has slowed since its peak on Monday evening ... and lava fountains have fallen from 300 to 100 ft.

However, evacuated areas are still off-limits, and authorities remain on high alert ... with local experts warning it's possible several more cracks could open in the ground.

Madonna says she was in a deep, controlled sleep during her hospitalization this year -- noting how lucky she is to be alive and giving insight into what she remembers in that state.

The singer made the startling revelation over the weekend during a show in Brooklyn, serving as one of the latest stops on her tour. At one point during the concert, she paused to address the crowd ... and said she'd been induced into a coma back in the summer.

Check it out ... Madge explains that a friend of hers, Shavawn, was one of the few people on hand when she passed out on the bathroom floor and made sure she got to an ER STAT.

Madonna thanked her personally -- Shavawn was in the audience that night -- and then went on to say that she also has her Kabbalah teacher to thank for being there at her side while she was in comatose. Interestingly, Madonna says she can remember hearing his voice.

As for what she can recall her teacher saying while she was under ... a common ask that anyone in that situation can identify with, especially when tending to a loved one.

Now, Madonna says when she regained consciousness ... one of the first things she saw was her six children sitting around her hospital bed. She jokes that it took a life-threatening situation to finally get all of them in one room, but sounds grateful they were there.

Madge has talked quite a bit about her health scare throughout her tour, which resumed in October -- although, she's confessed along the way that she's still not necessarily 100%.

You'll recall, she suffered a serious bacterial infection that put her out of commission for a good while ... but eventually, Madonna was back on her two feet and out in public again.

A group of Colorado thrill seekers were filmed hanging out of an SUV that was speeding backwards before it flipped over and crushed the passengers, seriously injuring them.

Saturday's disturbing crash in the parking lot of The Market in Colorado Springs was all caught on video, which was posted on social media.

Check it out ... five people are sitting in the open windows of the black SUV, which, suddenly, starts driving fast in reverse.

The vehicle does a donut before tumbling over on its side and squashing the passengers against the asphalt.

Freaked-out bystanders -- who were shooting cell phone footage -- ran to the aid of the victims. One person carries away a woman who appears to be unconscious. Other good Samaritans try to lift the SUV off the victims trapped underneath it.

Colorado Springs PD officers responded to the scene and arrested the driver, Marisol Wentling, for vehicular assault. Wentling was not injured.

As for her victims, several were rushed to local hospitals to be treated for "serious, life-threatening injuries," according to a police statement.

A public talking to from Madonna would make many want to dissipate into a deep, dark hole -- but Andy was delighted by the scolding -- mouthing "I love you" to the star.

In fact, he was so thrilled he shared the clip on IG, writing that as a lifelong Madonna fan, he was blown away to be called a "troublemaking queen" -- and couldn't wait to go back.

The duo's paths have crossed before IRL ... with them posing together for a snap as far back as 2009 ... though it looks like Andy's consistently found himself in the fan zone with her.

As for what jibes Madonna was referring to ... we don't know for sure, though earlier this year, Andy said he was so over the Material Girl not materializing on his show.

Kanye West was apparently up in the air a lot over the past 48 hours -- 'cause the dude just landed in L.A. with none other than Will Smith ... this after a quick trip to the Middle East.

Of course, he was also just in Vegas the day after that (Friday) where he went on an unhinged rant ... and once again invoked the name of Adolf Hitler, not to mention Jesus.

It appears that sometime between then and now ... Ye hopped a plane all the way across the world to do something in Saudi Arabia, where he'd been spending much of his time over the past couple months or so working on his new album. Perhaps he went back for that?

In any case, looks like he ran into Will on his way back home ... and they boarded together.

Will was noticeably out there himself and documented it all publicly on his IG ... performing at a music fest in Saudi Arabia alongside DJ Jazzy Jeff ... and his son Jaden was there too.

Unclear who else might've been on the plane with them or to what extent they all interacted -- but from this photo alone, it's pretty clear they're at least somewhat chummy/friendly.

As for Ye ... hey, the dude's still filthy freaking rich and can go anywhere he wants at the drop of a hat. He might've lost hundreds of millions last year, but he's still got plenty of Benjamins to his name. That much is clear from this seemingly sudden 8,000-plus-mile jaunt.

The reality star posted a couple videos over the weekend showing off this Christmas present she says she received from a company called Prenuvo -- which does full-body scans, and which actually hosted Kim and some other family members to do a diagnostic screening.

Looks like they used the imaging they got of her brain, and sent her a 3D model of it for the holidays ... and from what we can tell, Kim's impressed with the thoughtful gesture.

Kim actually worked with Prenuvo earlier in the year, and encouraged people to plunk down for the company's scan ... noting it could detect something you might not normally catch. The only problem, for some, is that it's pricey -- about $2,500 per scan.

Might not be something everyone can afford, but Kim sure sounds thankful she got it done.

Anita Baker's latest live performance is catching a little heat after she apparently got testy with the audience out in Texas -- parts of which were captured on video.

The legendary crooner was doing a show in Houston's Toyota Center Friday night and playing to a pretty solid-sized audience ... but at certain points during the gig, AB appears to have gotten into it a bit with some folks down in the front row.

There are 2 videos, in particular, that are circulating online right now -- one shows Anita telling some people right below her near the stage to stop recording ... in the middle of a song.

There's another moment where Anita could be seen/heard asking for security to boot folks.

Overall, this seems to have left a bad taste in people's mouths -- with some online complaining that Anita was more concerned with arguing with a select few ticket-buyers than doing the best job she could onstage. Others claimed she seemed to miss some lyrics ... and alleged her performance, overall, was relatively short-lived and somewhat sloppy.

Now, there's a good handful of people defending Anita ... saying the folks in the front row were, in fact, acting up and testing AB. Others said the performance, at large, was great.

Of course, the larger backdrop to this is the Babyface feud she was in earlier this year while on the road -- during which she got into it with both him and his fans in the Twitter-sphere.

Colin Jost was strong-armed into making his wife, Scarlett Johansson, the butt of a joke he was forced to deliver on 'SNL' ... and he has his good pal Michael Che to thank for it.

Last night was the sketch comedy series' last show of the year, and every Christmas -- the two "Weekend Update" hosts have a tradition of writing jokes for one another that the other hasn't seen ... but has to read in front of the audience as if it's coming straight from them.

It's one of the better segments on the show these days, and 2023's iteration didn't disappoint -- especially for one crack Che made Colin read ... at the expense of his A-lister spouse.

The premise was highlighting a new NY law that now allows movie theaters to serve booze -- which Colin then said would serve as the only way he can get through ScarJo's "little art movies" ... with a flash to an OTS graphic of her in "Black Widow."

It was a pretty sick burn (from Che) and the audience definitely seemed to notice ... cackling and dropping the collective "OOOOOHHHHHHH" to signify how wild it was that her hubby was saying that.

Of course, it's all in good fun ... and Colin rolled with it, including reading the tail end of Che's edgy joke for him -- in which he said, "I'm kidding, honey. I love all of your movies. And if you ask me, you're an even better Black widow than Coretta Scott King."

The funniest part about all of Colin's jokes -- which were written to be pretty racist against Black people -- is that Che brought out a (fake) civil rights activist to sit next to him while he delivered all of these ... and Che ribbed him about it each and every time.
