Jace owed $411K on his South L.A. home where he shot his wife. Jace stopped paying his mortgage and was on the brink of a foreclosure sale ... according to documents obtained by TMZ.
Jace's bankruptcy settlement allowed him to drastically lower his monthly payments, but he went delinquent again late last year.
As TMZ first reported Jace called 911 last night and said he shot his wife in the face, allegedly while his 2 children watched.

The judge just threw the book at Michael Lohan's baby mama Kate Major -- sentencing her to 8 months in jail for being a really drunk scofflaw.
Major was hauled off to lockup in Palm Beach Monday after pleading guilty. The DUI conviction triggered a probation violation, stemming from Major's 2012 battery case ... when she allegedly attacked a police officer in Boca Raton.
As a result, the judge revoked Major's probation and sentenced her to 8 months in jail ... with 70 days credit for time served. Major will begin serving the balance of her jail time immediately.

Joe Francis ARRESTED In Alleged Girls Gone Wild Attack
Joe Francis was arrested Friday for allegedly attacking an employee at his old stomping ground -- the offices of "Girls Gone Wild."
Apparently Joe felt like reminiscing ... so he showed up at the L.A. offices Friday night. Problem is -- there's a restraining order prohibiting him from coming within 100 feet of the building.
Joe didn't care, and made his way up to the 10th floor where he got into it with a security guard ... according to law enforcement sources.
Security called the cops as a GGW employee tried to block Joe in the offices. The employee says Joe shoved him, and that triggered a citizen's arrest.
Cops took Joe to the station where he was booked for misdemeanor battery and released.
He's got another problem. There will almost certainly be a court hearing where Joe could be held in contempt for violating the restraining order, and that could mean time in the slammer.
Francis tells us the person he got into it with is the new owner of GGW and says the guy has a "business vendetta" against him.
Francis claims he had every right to be there because the restraining order is no longer active ... and also claims the security guard "manhandled" his pregnant wife.
We got him on the way out of jail ... but at the time, he clearly wasn't in the talking mood.

'N Sync Singer 'MTV Cribs' House Allegedly Hit ... By Ninja Burglars
Where's Superman when you need him? Joey Fatone's famed "MTV Cribs" house -- the one with an entire room dedicated to the Man of Steel -- has allegedly been hit by a few NINJA BURGLARS ... but police arrested the suspects before any real damage was done.
A rep for the Orange County Sheriff's Office in FL tells TMZ, the three suspects were arrested Monday evening outside the 12,300 square foot 6-bedroom mansion ... after cutting through the fence.
Police say the men were dressed in all black ninja-type outfits and were carrying backpacks containing zip ties, duct tape, and handguns. According to police, one of the suspects fled and hid in nearby bushes ... but was quickly sniffed out by a K-9.
Cops believe the burglars are the same perps who burglarized a nearby home last month ... also dressed as ninjas. That break-in was caught on tape (above).
Either way, the ninjas ain't Fatone's problem -- he sold the house in 2011 ... for $3.9 million.
Alec Baldwin BUSTED In NYC For Illegal Biking
9:30 AM PT -- Alec is going off on Twitter, writing, "Officer Moreno, badge number 23388, arrested me and handcuffed me for going the wrong way on Fifth Ave ... Meanwhile, photographers outside my home ONCE AGAIN terrified my daughter and nearly hit her with a camera. The police did nothing."
And the zinger, "New York City is a mismanaged carnival of stupidity that is desperate for revenue and anxious to criminalize behavior once thought benign."
Alec Baldwin was detained in New York City Tuesday morning after riding his bike the wrong way on Fifth Avenue and 16th street.
Here's the crazy part ... it seems one of the factors in the arrest was that Alec didn't have his ID on him when he was riding.
We're told Alec was taken to the police station so he could be properly identified ... standard ops.
Law enforcement sources tell us Alec was belligerent with officers while in custody ... which resulted in his getting a ticket for disorderly conduct -- on top of the ticket for riding the wrong way.
Sources tell us he was riding alone ... it was just for exercise. Alec's wife was not there.
The ID part of the story is kind of amazing, because Alec is a fixture in New York.

Chris Brown I Didn't Confess to the D.C. Assault
Chris Brown did NOT admit he assaulted the alleged victim in his D.C. criminal trial.
Mark Geragos Tells TMZ ... when Brown admitted to a probation violation Friday in the Rihanna case ... it did NOT constitute a confession in his assault case. Geragos says all Brown did was admit he violated probation in D.C. -- he was not more specific.
Geragos tells us ... HE -- not Chris -- conceded there was a factual basis to conclude his client violated probation based on the police report.
What's more, Geragos says there's no way the D.C. prosecutor could use Brown's admission as a confession, because the standard of proof in a criminal case is much higher than in a probation hearing.
Geragos says he merely told the Rihanna judge it's "more likely than not" that Chris screwed up in D.C. In a criminal trial, the prosecutor must show Chris screwed up beyond a reasonable doubt.
As we reported ... even though Chris was ordered to serve another 131 days behind bars for the probation violation ... with time served and jail overcrowding, he could get out in a matter of days.

Chris Brown Ordered to 131 More Days in Jail
Chris Brown has just been sentenced to spend another 4-plus months in jail ... for violating his probation in the Rihanna case ... but the reality is, he could be released by week's end.
Brown was in court Friday afternoon ... where he admitted he violated his probation by getting into a fight with a dude in Washington D.C.
That's all the judge needed to hear. He sentenced Chris to 1 year in jail. HOWEVER, Chris got credit for 116 days he spent in rehab, and another 59 days behind bars. That leaves 131 days in the pokey.
But we're told the L.A. County Sheriff's Dept has been releasing inmates sentenced to 1 year after 240 days. And here's the thing. Chris gets credit for 2 days for every 1 he served behind bars, so when you add it up, he has credit for 234 days -- 6 days shy. So he could be released in days.
The judge could have gone a lot harder -- 4 years in prison. But Chris got a break because the judge took into account he was recently diagnosed with bipolar disorder, which could account for some of the violence.
The judge also ordered Chris to attend therapy sessions with a shrink 2 times a week. And he must submit to random drug testing 3 times a week.
Chris is not out of the legal woods ... his D.C. assault trial is set to start in the following months.

Chris Brown Worse For Wear After 7 Weeks in Jail [VIDEO]
Chris Brown looked haggard and tired in court Thursday afternoon during a hearing in the Rihanna case.
TMZ broke the story ... Brown has been behind bars since March 14, when the judge threw him in jail after getting kicked out of rehab for the second time.
Brown looked defeated as the judge ruled he will remain in jail -- at least until the next hearing May 9 ... when both sides will come back to court and say whether they could strike a deal over the probation violation.
Brown had to endure a LONG flight from L.A. to D.C. and back ... so he could attend his assault trial in the nation's capital. That trial has been postponed.
In the meantime, Brown sits in an L.A. jail, with the prospect of going to prison for up to 4 years if the judge decides the singer violated his probation ... that is, if a deal isn't struck.
Paul Simon & Edie Brickell Booze Fueled Violent Domestic Confrontation
Edie Brickell had a "strong odor of alcohol on her breath" during the heated argument that turned physical last week with hubby Paul Simon, this according to local police.
Simon and Brickell were both arrested and charged with disorderly conduct after a domestic dispute at their Connecticut home last weekend.
The New Canaan police report, which was obtained by the Stamford Advocate, says Brickell told police Simon did something that "broke her heart." It goes on to say Simon shoved Brickell and she slapped him in response. That's when he called 911 ... but hung up before speaking to anyone.
Brickell told police Simon "was acting like a spoiled baby by calling 911 and that he did not care about their children." The report says Edie had "a strong odor of alcohol on her breath" and became agitated at times.
Seems like they've both calmed down since then -- they were both in court this week and refused to get any kind of protective order.
