USC didn't just take Lane Kiffin's dignity, the university might also be in a position to take his house ... TMZ has learned.

We broke the story ... after Lane accepted the head coaching job at the University of Southern California in 2010, the school agreed to loan him $500k to use toward the purchase of a $5.5 million mansion in Manhattan Beach, CA.

But there was a catch ... under the terms of the deal, if Lane got fired or quit during the life of the loan, USC could demand the $500k back, plus interest STAT ... and if he didn't pay up, SC could foreclose.

SC didn't disclose the length of the $500k note in official records ... and it's unclear if it's been forgiven.

However, these types of deals are usually made by an employer to keep an employee from bolting for greener pastures (like Lane's been known to do) ... and it's common for the term of the loan to be AT LEAST as long as the employment contract.

So, the question ... did Kiffin outlive the term of his $500k loan from SC, or is he still on the hook for the money?

Hope Eddie Van Halen swims as good as he plays guitar -- 'cause his L.A. home got drenched after a contractor screwed up his remodel, and ended up costing him more than a million bucks ... according to a new lawsuit.

The lawsuit -- which was filed today by Eddie's family trust -- says Troy Builders Group was hired back in 2008 to do a remodel and construction, but the project was rife with major problems ... most relating to waterproofing.

In the docs, Eddie says the shoddy work included poor drainage, leaky roof and chimney, poorly installed gutters and flashing -- all of which caused water to flow into the home.

But here's how you know the house belongs to a guitar god -- EVH claims he also suffered mold damage, not just on wood surfaces, but in his ELEVATOR SHAFT.

Moldy shaft ... never good.

According to the docs, Eddie's already out more than a million bucks to repair the damage. He's suing the builder for the cash plus interest.

The real estate market MUST be getting better ... because a big-time realtor from "Million Dollar Listing NY" is feeling awfully generous -- giving his employees in Stockholm a free trip to Miami.

Fredrik Eklund -- who commutes between his homes in Stockholm and NYC -- posted a photo of some pretty happy workers in Sweden -- where he opened a real estate biz four years ago.

Eklund tells TMZ his company's sold so much property .... he decided to drop around $150K to fly 40 employees to Miami ... where they'll live like rock stars -- fancy dinners, boat tours and nights on the town. It's not all fun and games though -- they'll do a little work, too.

The people who ACTUALLY live inside Walter White's house on "Breaking Bad" tell TMZ ... no amount of meth money could ever convince them to sell.

Fran and Louie Padilla have been living in Walt's crib since 1973 ... and its quick rise to American landmark status has been a lot to handle (over 1k visitors just this month.)

The Padillas are not scared off or tempted by a financial windfall ... they say the memories from the years they spent raising a family at the White residence are without a price tag.

"Modern Family" star Jesse Tyler Ferguson went on a trip to "Breaking Bad" mecca this week ... and lucky for him Walter White wasn't home during his tour.

George Zimmerman has a new set of legal woes -- his mother-in-law just filed a police report, claiming George stole furniture and a TV from her house.

Shellie Zimmerman's mom owns the house where George and Shellie were living before they split. The mom claims George was ordered to vacate no later than yesterday ... and apparently when he did her stuff went missing.

The house was also the scene of the gun incident earlier this month, where Shellie called 911 and claimed George was threatening her with a gun.

Sometimes it doesn't pay to party ... 6 youngins were arrested Thursday for causing 10s of thousands of dollars in damage after breaking into the house of former New England Patriots' star Brian Holloway ... and now TMZ has learned more than 200 others could be arrested as well.

As we previously reported ... Holloway claims hundreds of teens broke into his house near Albany and trashed it over Labor Day weekend.

The 6 kids -- ranging in age from 17 - 20 -- were taken into custody and arraigned on various charges, including criminal trespass. The 19-year-old was charged with felony burglary and felony criminal mischief. And 3 of the adult kids were charged with endangering the welfare of a child. The 17-year-old was charged with felony grand larceny.

Only a handful of parents even bothered to call Holloway after the incident to apologize or offer help in repairing the damage.

Holloway posted hundreds of names of the partygoers on his website. Now the cops are telling TMZ, "We currently have over 200 names ... Once we've established proof of their presence at the party, they will be asked to turn themselves in."

And here's how crazy that could be ... the courts can't handle that kind of volume, so cops say they will be arraigned in groups of 10 to 12.

Corey Feldman's pad got swatted last night -- and TMZ has slightly scary (yet hilarious) footage of a bath-robed Corey and one of his "angels" getting the shake-down from cops.

Law enforcement sources tell us LAPD got a call of unknown trouble at Feldman's house -- which he's douchily dubbed the Feldmansion -- and responded around 2 AM with multiple cruisers and a chopper.

Corey quickly came out of the house with his arms raised, and got frisked by cops. In typical Feldman-fashion ... he had not one, but TWO female companions in lingerie ... who were also frisked.

We're told cops searched Corey's place, but left after determining everything was kosher.

Maybe Corey's $250 mansion parties aren't so bad after all.

Who are we kidding? Yes they are.

Lamar Odom is holed up in a private home in a gated community 100 miles from L.A. ... and his life is now revolving around smoking crack and partying with 2 young women -- and he's intimate with one of them.

Multiple sources privy to Lamar's current state tell TMZ ... Lamar has a driver who is regularly shuttling back and forth from L.A. to his rental home with one purpose -- scoring drugs, including crack.

We're told Lamar is so paranoid ... he insists the driver only buy small quantities of crack at a time, so as not to draw too much attention to him -- and that means frequent trips to score the drug.

Lamar almost never leaves the home. He's smoking crack and partying with the 2 women, both in their early 20s. His life now revolves around smoking crack and listening to rap music.

Our sources say Lamar is extremely paranoid about getting caught. He believes people -- not the 2 girls -- are watching him so he's using a phone app that allows him to text people but the texts are automatically deleted once the texts are read. The app also notifies Lamar if they try and screenshot the message.

Lamar's best friend is also staying at the house.

We're told Lamar has been living in 3 different residences in the last 2 months -- partly because he feels if he stays on the move he won't get caught.

As for Khloe ... we're told Lamar isn't worried that she'll leave him. He says he knows she loves him and has stood by him throughout the entire drug saga so he's convinced she won't abandon him now.

Kid Rock and his fam can sleep soundly ... the man accused of attempting to drive his van through the front gate of the singer's home has been sentenced to several years in prison.

42-year-old Brian Duane Keith got nailed on three counts -- attempted home invasion in the 2nd degree, malicious destruction of property, and malicious destruction of a building.

Keith -- who was captured on surveillance video of the July incident -- smashed several windows after breaking Kid Rock's gate.

Keith was immediately taken to prison to begin serving a sentence of at least 46 months.

Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick need bigger digs -- because procreation is on their minds ... again.

Living is hell for them right now ... The family of 4 is currently crammed into a 5,100 square foot box in Calabasas. With only 4 bedrooms and 5 baths ... it's like Ethiopia with an Armenian twist.

So ... we found out Kourtney is headed for greener pastures. She checked out this home in Hidden Hills -- 7,500 square feet, 6 bedrooms, 8 baths and, just a stone's throw from her mom, Kris Jenner, who lives 2 miles away.

BTW, the price is sure reasonable -- $6.495 mil.

11:43 AM PDT: Justin Instagrammed a few minutes ago, "Don't listen to em. I still got all my jewelry." Here's the deal. Justin is lying to cover for his "friends." A half hour later, he took the comment down. Let us assure you ... the theft happened, and he kicked the Lils out of the house.

Justin Bieber has finally had it ... TMZ has learned Lil Twist and Lil Za are both persona non grata at his Calabasas mansion after expensive jewelry went missing.

Sources connected to the Biebs tell TMZ ... Justin was furious earlier this month when he discovered the jewelry and other items were nowhere to be found. Twist and Za had both been staying at the house and they had thrown several parties in Justin's absence.

We're told Justin had no idea who stole the items, but blamed Twist and Za because it was on their watch. He ordered them out and our sources say both of them are PISSED.

We're told Justin has finally seen the light that he's gotta change ... or else. Justin just performed in Singapore (above) and actually showed up 15 minutes early, but not before he gave 30 tickets to kids from a local orphanage.

Our sources say Justin is privately saying he knows he's been on a bad path, and it seems at least for now he's moving in the right direction.

Turns out Brian and his wife are also sitting on a 15,000 square foot palace in Georgia that's straight outta "Gone with the Wind" -- but better, 'cause this place has a lake, a recording studio AND tennis court.

Alex Rodriguez -- who signed a $275 million contract with the Yankees in 2007 -- is now pinching pennies by downsizing in a spectacular way.

A-Rod -- who dumped his $30 million oceanfront Miami palace -- just bought a nearby condo for $2.1 million -- around 15 times cheaper than his previous digs.

And when we say it's modest, we mean it. The "luxury" condo, purchased last month, is 1,725 sq. ft with 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms -- a broom closet in ARod's world.

The Miami mansion was a comfortable 19,861 sq. ft., with 9 bedrooms, 11 full bathrooms (plus 2 half bathrooms), a 4-car garage, a state of the art security system with 16 cameras, and a Zen garden.

A-Rod appears to be gearing up for a long winter in an uncertain future.

The plot thickens in the story of ex-New England Patriots player Brian Holloway ... who went ballistic after his New York home was trashed by a horde of rowdy, drunken teen vandals. Turns out the house was already in disrepair and in FORECLOSURE, and his neighbors smell a rat.

TMZ has learned ... Holloway owes a whopping $1,006,348.80 on the house ... it appears he was delinquent on paying his mortgage and the bank then demanded payment of the entire balance.

Brian hasn't lived in the home for a long time -- he's in Florida -- and neighbors tell us they thought the house was abandoned. In fact, before the blow-out bash, neighbors say kids staged a number of parties in the house -- which has no furniture.

Neighbors think the kids who Brian is now attacking are getting a bad rap. They say there was already plenty of damage to the home before the party in question -- broken doors and damaged floors. And ... there was plenty of preexisting graffiti covering the walls.

Some neighbors are suspicious of Brian's motive in requesting financial help to pay for repairs on his PayPal account. They think he's trying to create sympathy so money floods in and he can save his house.

As for Brian ... he tells TMZ there was some preexisting damage, but the 300 hooligans really trashed his crib. He also says he's been trying to renegotiate with the bank for 2 years.

11:40 AM PDT: We just spoke to Joe ... who told us he's contacted his accountant who's going to take care of the problem.

Joe Francis' money problems are compounding -- 7 months after "Girls Gone Wild" declared bankruptcy, his bank has started foreclosure proceedings on his Bel Air compound.

The estate is sick ... worth an estimated $11.4 mil.

According to JPMorgan Chase Bank ... Joe has slacked off on mortgage payments to the tune of $127,686.91.

In addition to "Girls Gone Wild" filing for bankruptcy ... Joe's also been ordered to personally pay $19 million to Vegas casino mogul Steve Wynn. And we're not even gonna mention the jail sentence hanging over his head.
