Jon Jones 'Model Inmate' During 1st Night in Jail

Published | Updated

Jon Jones' first night behind bars in Albuquerque was a quiet one ... with officials telling TMZ Sports the UFC star was a "model inmate."

Jones turned himself in to authorities Tuesday morning after a warrant was issued for his arrest for violating his probation. As we previously reported, Jon was on probation from his 2015 hit and run conviction and officials believe his drag racing incident with cops last week may qualify as a violation.

We're told Jones is in a segregated cell at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Bernalillo County away from the general population because of his celebrity status. One official told us, "It's for his own protection."

A jail source tells TMZ Sports, "From the moment he walked into the jail, everyone knew he was there. It got around fast. Everyone knows who he is because he was just here a few months ago to speak as part of his community service."

As far as Jon's diet behind bars ... "he's on a standard 2,800 calorie plan."

Jon will remain in jail until he faces a judge which could happen as early as Wednesday.

Red Bull Sued Forget Wings ... Your Drink Killed My Son!!

Red Bull energy drink got one guy so hyped up on caffeine it destroyed his heart, and his family says the company knew about the medical risk ... but did nothing to warn consumers.

Ann Lemley is suing the energy drink giant over her 44-year-old son William's 2014 death. In the lawsuit, obtained by TMZ, she says William died after ingesting "toxic amounts of caffeine and other chemicals" in Red Bull.

Lemley points out in the suit ... multiple studies have been done about the negative health consequences of the popular beverage. She claims Red Bull fails to alert its customers to risks associated with the drink ... including hypertension and cardiovascular conditions.

Her son ultimately died of a string of heart ailments.

Lemley's suing for more than $35 million in damages. We've reached out to Red Bull, but have not heard back.

7:30 A.M. PST -- A rep for the company tells TMZ, "Over 60 billion cans of Red Bull Energy Drink have been consumed since it first went on sale in 1987 and it is available in over 165 countries because health authorities around the world have concluded that it is safe to consume.

The European Food Safety Authority has recently again confirmed the safety of energy drinks. So, there is no justification to treat energy drinks differently than coffee, tea or other caffeine containing soft drinks. One 250 ml (8.4 fl oz) can of Red Bull Energy Drink contains about the same amount of caffeine as a cup of coffee (80 mg)."

Chris Brown Alleged Ex-GF Shut Down in Court ... No Restraining Order

She'd already been granted a temporary restraining order, but on Tuesday in a L.A. court a judge asked Patti to hand over proof of any threatening messages from Brown. She told the judge she'd erased them because they scare her and she "didn't want the memories."

She also admitted she didn't have Chris' phone number or email address after being grilled by Chris' lawyers, Ben Meiseles and Setara Qassim.

The judge quickly tossed the case.

As we reported ... Patti is the same woman who got arrested for refusing to leave in December.

Sources connected to Blake tell us the photo in question -- which was posted on Instagram -- shows him obliging a fan with a pic as he walked by the hotel.

William Shatner Sued You're My Dad ... Now Beam Me Up $170 Million!

A radio DJ is suing William Shatner for $170 million, claiming the actor is his father and has been denying it for years.

Peter Sloan, 59, says Shatner admitted he was his dad back in 1984 on the set of "T.J. Hooker." Sloan tells TMZ he believes his biological mother and Shatner had a fling while they were both acting on Broadway.

In his suit, Sloan says Shatner did a complete 180 later ... hanging up on him when he called the actor. He claims a rep contacted him to say Shatner denied paternity and refused to take a DNA test.

Sloan says he requested another paternity test in 2011 but got denied because, as Shatner's lawyers put it ... he's "an incredibly busy, 80-year-old man, and is not interested in spending time discussing this issue with you."

Sloan wants $50 million for pain and suffering, $90 million in punitive damages and $30 million in compensatory damages.

"I feel that police used a technicality to ticket me for drag racing, for simply revving my engine and acknowledging some of my local fans. I regrettably said words to the police officer out of frustration, for which I apologize for, but I do feel this was excessive."

UFC superstar Jon Jones called a police officer a "f**king liar" and a "pig" during a heated exchange in New Mexico last week ... and TMZ Sports has the footage.

He added, "You're despicable."

The officer replied, "I feel the same way about you sir."

Jones went on "The MMA Hour" with Ariel Helwani and later apologized -- saying he was emotional and shouldn't have said what he said.

The UFC issued a statement saying, "We are aware of the situation and are looking into the matter. We've also been in touch with Jon's team regarding the matter."

We've transcribed part of the video below ... it's pretty crazy:
