Carrie Fisher Traumatic 'Last Jedi' Scene Hard for Family to Watch

Published | Updated

Carrie Fisher's final 'Star Wars' scenes hit too close to home for the Fisher family ... TMZ has learned.

Carrie's brother, Todd Fisher, tells us the family recently saw 'Last Jedi' and struggled watching General Leia in one particular scene ... which was extremely traumatic for the character. We don't want to say anything more than that with the movie just being released Thursday night.

We're told the family had actually seen an early cut of the film while Carrie was still alive. They saw the scene in question back then, and say it wasn't nearly as gut-wrenching. Again we'll avoid spoilers and leave it at that.

The family did enjoy the tribute to Carrie at the end of the flick. Although Lucasfilm has already announced Carrie won't be in 'Episode IX' ... we're told the family hopes Leia will continue to live on in the 'Star Wars' world in some spirit.

They're also not opposed to a CGI Leia like we saw in 'Rogue One.'

Tupac Murder Weapon Was Found!!! Current Location a Mystery

Published | Updated

The handgun used to shoot and kill Tupac Shakur turned up in a Compton backyard -- 19 years ago -- but, mysteriously, no one in law enforcement seems to know where it is today.

That bombshell information comes from a police document dug up by producers of the A&E docu-series, "Who Killed Tupac?" According to the document, here's how it unfolded.

A .40 caliber Glock was found by a citizen in his backyard in 1998 ... which he reported to police. Compton PD records show it was booked as found property on May 30, 1998.

In 2000, L.A. County Sheriff's Dept. took over law enforcement of Compton, and 3,800 confiscated firearms -- including that Glock -- were transferred to the LASD.

Fast forward to 2006, when Deputy T. Brennan -- who'd been working the Notorious B.I.G. murder -- was sifting through records. According to the doc, he recognized the address where the gun was found as the home of the girlfriend of a prominent Crip member ... known to have beef with Pac.

The deputy immediately ordered ballistic testing, and bam -- the results were a match for the firearm used to kill Tupac.

You'd think the weapon would be immediately sent to Vegas, where Pac's murder was still unsolved. Instead, a federal prosecutor assigned to the case cited concerns the discovery might alert potential conspirators -- and recommended the gun NOT be turned over to LVPD.

It's not spelled out in the document, but it seems the concern might have been about renewed gang violence if it came out a Crip was tied to Tupac's murder.

Tupac's brother was floored by the information when he met with Benjamin Crump, the civil rights attorney producing the A&E series.

A&E says it contacted LVPD, and some officers said the gun definitely never got to them, while others said they were unsure. Bottom line ... if anyone knows where it is now, they're not copping to it.

The final episode of "Who Killed Tupac?" airs Tuesday night.

Terry Glenn Cops Release Crash Pics from Fatal Wreck

Ex-NFL star Terry Glenn crashed his truck into a concrete divider on a Texas highway after apparently tailgating at the Dallas Cowboys game ... according to the police report obtained by TMZ Sports.

The Irving Police Dept. has now released crash photos and incident reports from the Nov. 20 crash that killed the former WR and left his fiancee severely injured.

Cops say Glenn was driving his Ford F250 around 12:18 AM when he hit the entrance to the toll lane and flipped. Neither Glenn nor his fiancee were wearing seatbelts.

Glenn's fiancee suffered injuries to her face and a possible broken collarbone.

Cops say Glenn was transported to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead short time later.

Glenn's fiancee admitted she had been drinking earlier in the day -- but "was not clear" if Glenn had consumed alcohol, too.

Officials conducted toxicology tests on Glenn's body -- so far, no word on the results.

We broke the story ... Billie and Bryan think Gary's public appearances cheapen Carrie's legacy, and want Corby to keep Gary out of the spotlight.

Corby says she isn't in it for the money, but adds it's clear to her now ... Gary provides emotional support to fans who are missing Carrie.

Carrie Fisher Beloved Dog, Gary Caught in Emotional Tug of War

Published | Updated

Carrie Fisher's French bulldog, Gary, is one of the most popular pooches on the planet, but his public appearances have upset Carrie's family ... TMZ has learned.

As you'll recall ... when Fisher died, Gary went to her assistant, Corby McCoin. There have been numerous stories out that Carrie's daughter, Billie Lourd has the pooch, but it's not true. Corby has had the dog since Carrie died.

Now here's the conflict -- Corby wants to take Gary to various functions, including ComicCons, where people can interact with Gary and somehow feel closer to Carrie. We're told people over at Lucasfilm contacted the folks at ComicCon and asked them to block the appearance, which they did.

There was another event last April in Orlando which held a "Star Wars" celebration. We're told Mark Hamill wanted Gary to come out on stage with him. We're told the P.R. Dept. for "Star Wars" shut it down because Billie didn't want it ... and there have been other failed attempts as well.

Sources connected to Billie tell TMZ ... she and her dad, CAA head Bryan Lourd, fully understand how much Gary meant to Carrie, but when she died Gary was really nothing more than a dog, and they didn't want the animal to define the memory of Carrie ... they felt it cheapened it.

We're also told Bryan asked Corby to delete Gary's Instagram, which has more than 160,000 followers ... again, because he feels it cheapens Carrie's legacy.

We're even told Bryan offered Corby $250 a month in return for not parading Gary around, possibly for money, but Corby declined.

We broke the story ... 'Last Jedi' director Rian Johnson says the upcoming film will pay homage to Fisher's beloved dog, so no matter what -- he's still got some time left in the limelight.

His urine tested positive for all those drugs, plus other powerful opiates such as Hydrocodone, Hydromorphone (Dilaudid), Oxycodone and Oxymorphone. He had no alcohol in his system.

The M.E. says the death was accidental. It's known that combining Fentanyl and Xanax can cause respiratory distress, coma and possibly death.

Chester Bennington Hog-Tied Drowning Attempt ... Coroner Redacted Info in Autopsy Report

Published | Updated

Chester Bennington got extremely drunk, hog-tied himself and threw himself into his swimming pool in a suicide attempt 9 months before he hanged himself -- something the L.A. County Coroner knew -- yet it was redacted from the autopsy report.

Sources familiar with the investigation tell TMZ, Chester's widow, Talinda, told the Coroner's investigator that Chester consumed a large quantity of alcohol, hog-tied himself and threw himself in the pool in November 2016, but had a change of heart and was able to break free from the restraint and climb to safety.

We're told Talinda's lawyer, Ed McPherson, contacted the County lawyer for the Coroner last Friday and asked that this information be redacted. We're told the Coroner's lawyer at first said no, but McPherson persisted, arguing that "marital privilege" should make the information protected. The Coroner's lawyer agreed and the passage was redacted from the autopsy report.

Our sources say there was a division of opinion in the Coroner's Office, with some saying there's no such thing as "marital privilege" in an autopsy investigation and further saying such a privilege has never been used to keep information secret.

It's especially interesting because, immediately before the redaction, there's a passage about Chester drinking heavily back in 2006 and threatening suicide before leaving the house with a gun. That incident was not redacted.

Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter tells TMZ, "The report stands as is," and he would not comment further. We also reached out to the head Coroner but he did not return our calls.

Chester Bennington Autopsy Report Released

Chester Bennington's autopsy shows he had a trace amount of alcohol in his system when he hanged himself ... TMZ has learned.

According to the autopsy and toxicology results, obtained by TMZ, the Linkin Park singer's blood also tested "presumptive positive" for MDMA (ecstasy) ... based on one test. Two subsequent tests did not detect the drug, and the ultimate conclusion was Chester was not under the influence of drugs when he died.

Authorities found a prescription bottle of Zolpidem -- generic Ambien -- on his dresser. There was also a pint glass of Corona, which was less than half full -- and an empty bottle of Stella Artois.

Police found pieces of fingernail underneath his iPhone and on a table in the bedroom. Chester's wife, Talinda, told cops he would do that when he was anxious. She said Chester had a history of depression and previous suicide attempts -- including one in 2006 when he left the house with a gun after drinking heavily.

Talinda added Chester was currently in an outpatient treatment program. A month before his death, Chester reportedly told friends he'd been sober for 6 months.

He'd been prescribed anti-depressants in the past, but had not taken them for more than a year ... according to Talinda.

TMZ broke the story ... Chester committed suicide July 20 by hanging himself. The report says he was found with a black Hugo Boss leather belt around his neck. He still had the boarding pass in his pocket from the flight he'd taken from Phoenix the day before his death.

There was no suicide note, but police found what they call an "apparent biography," which was handwritten.
