The entire sports world is reacting to the attack at Manchester Arena, with some of the biggest stars in sports taking to social media to voice their condolences and feelings about the terror attack.

The venue has played host to some of the world's biggest sporting events including the 2002 Commonwealth Games.

Here are some of the reactions.

Manchester United: "We are deeply shocked by last night’s terrible events at the Manchester Arena. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all those affected."

Manchester City: "The thoughts and prayers of everyone at MCFC are with those affected following the horrifying events of last night."

Ariana Grande has indefinitely suspended her world tour in the wake of the terrorist bombing in England ... TMZ has learned.

Sources connected to Ariana tell TMZ, she will not perform Thursday in London and has decided for now to put the entire European tour on hold. She was scheduled to perform in England, Belgium, Poland, Germany and Switzerland.

Ariana just tweeted, "broken. from the bottom of my heart, i am so so sorry. i don't have words."

As we reported, Ariana is inconsolable ... "in hysterics" after the bombing. As one source said, she's incapable of performing for anyone. She and her team, we're told, are also deeply concerned about security.

Ariana's manager, Scooter Braun, said, "We mourn the lives of children and loved ones taken by this cowardly act," adding, "We ask all of you to hold the victims, their families, and all those affected in your hearts and prayers."

3:15 AM PT -- The death toll has risen to 22.

4:50 PM PT -- Police are now treating this as a terrorist act. There are reports the explosive device was a "nail bomb" ... which explains the images of victims, several bleeding profusely on the scene.

4:25 PM PT -- People connected with the show tell us they heard what sounded like an explosion in the rotunda area where merchandise is sold -- in the venue but outside the seating area. There was an immediate stampede for the exits.

4:15 PM PT -- Law enforcement says at least 20 people are dead. A video posted on social media purportedly shows a flash in the arena (left side of above video), and then a boom is heard.

3:45 PM PT -- Greater Manchester Police say there are a "number of confirmed fatalities and others injured." It's unclear if the injuries are from the stampede or from a blast.

3:30 PM PT -- London police just said, "Emergency services responding to serious incident at Manchester Arena. Avoid the area."

3:25 PM PT -- Several people present -- including actress Julie Hesmondhalgh from "Coronation Street" -- say there was no explosion but rather a loud bang, which created a stampede and people were injured trying to get out of the facility.

An explosion rocked an Ariana Grande concert in England Monday, sending scores of people running for safety and nearly 2 dozen are dead in what may be an act of terrorism.

The concert was held at the Manchester Arena ... the explosions occurred at the end of Grande's concert. One of the concertgoers tweeted, "Just ran from an explosion, genuinely thought were going to die."

People are writing on Twitter that there is blood everywhere ... people are injured and bleeding.

Chris Cornell was so respected and loved by other musicians, his friends, and millions of fans. They're all honoring the iconic singer as they get the sad news of his death.

Stephen Colbert flat-out called for President Trump's resignation ... the prez admittedly shared classified intel about ISIS with Russian diplomats.

Colbert obliterated Trump during his Monday night monologue after the Washington Post reported the prez had leaked the info. Tuesday morning, Trump tweeted he had "the absolute right" to do so.

The 'Late Show' host disagrees, strongly, but did find a silver lining ... "The good news: Trump found the leaker."

The Trump-Colbert feud -- the gift that keeps on giving.

James Woods went after Anderson Cooper with a brazenly homophobic tweet about Cooper's now infamous eye roll.

The actor posted a GIF of Anderson rolling his eyes during an interview with Kellyanne Conway a few days ago. He captioned it ... "As his butt plug dislodges during a newscast."

Woods makes no secret of it -- he's a staunch conservative and vocal supporter of President Trump. Clearly, he'd side with Conway over Cooper.

However ... this remark makes Colbert's "cock holster" comment about the prez seem tame.

J.K. Rowling is warning 'Harry Potter' fans not to shell out any Galleons for a handwritten prequel that fell off the back of a broom ... as in, it was stolen.

The burglary happened last month in Birmingham, England at the home of someone who purchased the prequel at a 2008 charity auction for about $40k. It's a pretty cool piece of Potter history -- 800 words written on a postcard that lay out the story of Harry's pop, James Potter, and godfather, Sirius Black, as teenagers.

Cops still haven't made any arrests, but J.K. made a plea Friday to her 10 million followers. Just a matter of time till someone whips out the Probity Probe and finds it, we're guessing.

The prez apparently just realized Rosie tweeted 5 months ago that then-FBI Director James Comey should be fired. So, he tweeted Thursday, right at Rosie, "We finally agree on something Rosie."

Never mind that Rosie was calling for Comey's head because she blamed him for Hillary Clinton losing -- therefore putting Rosie's archenemy, Trump, in the White House.

Pretty sure Rosie won't be amused by Trump cozying up to her ... even sarcastically.

Bingo! Rosie just clarified her feelings on Comey, and called out Trump's "motives."

Wendy's just rewarded the teen who tried to score a year's worth of chicken nuggets -- even though he fell more than 14 million shy of the restaurant's Twitter demands.

We ain't hating, since Carter Wilkinson DID beat out Ellen DeGeneres for most retweets in history -- 3,433,823 with his #nuggsforcarter campaign. Ellen previously had the record for her Oscars selfie.

Getting that record was good enough for Wendy's which said Tuesday morning it's hooking up Carter with a year's supply of free nuggs. Dude got a certificate and vouchers to make it official.

Carter started his quest last month when he tweeted Wendy's asking how many retweets he needed to score the deal. Wendy's said 18 million.

He got a nice discount.

11:05 AM PT -- TMZ has confirmed 2 more people have received funds from Nicki, with one payment being for $800. Everyone else waiting for theirs ... sit tight.

Nicki Minaj didn't just talk the talk (or tweet the tweet) -- TMZ has learned the rapper ALREADY started transferring thousands of dollars to college students who asked for her financial help on Twitter.

The story is great ... a fan sent Nicki a meme Saturday night on Twitter jokingly asking if she would fork over a check to cover some college fees.

Nicki replied, "Show me straight A's that I can verify w/ur school and I'll pay it. Who wants to join THAT contest?!?! Dead serious. Shld I set it up?"

As you can imagine, Nicki's timeline BLEW UP with requests from students -- and Nicki responded to more than a dozen offering to hook 'em up.

Some people asked for help with student loans costing thousands of dollars ... others asked for less in tuition fees, books and other school supplies. Nicki was pretty thorough in her questioning why these folks really needed the money.

We checked in with some of the lucky beneficiaries who told us Nicki has already started to send the money. She asked for bank info through the DMs, and one person we spoke with said he already got $500 from Minaj.

By the way, Nicki says she might open up the vault again in a month or 2 ... so, get those report cards ready!

The Chainsmokers gave a class of seniors in Chicago a gigantic surprise when the boyz crashed their prom.

The DJ'ing duo played a surprise set Saturday night for Chi-Town's Huntley High School at at the Hyatt Regency hotel, right after their concert across the street at the Allstate Arena.

Turns out the performance was pre-planned -- and free if you can believe it. Some kid from the school had contacted their management a couple weeks before to schedule the "impromptu" show. Most of the kids at the prom had no idea they would show.

Barack Obama took his first shot at his predecessor since inauguration day, lightly jabbing President Trump's speedy Twitter fingers ... and reportedly made a ton of money while doing it.

The diss came Thursday in NYC while the ex-prez was speaking to a crowd of A&E Network's advertisers. While presidential historian Doris Kearns Goodwin interviewed Obama, she asked how he handled frustrating moments in the White House.

Barack coolly replied, "For starters, by not having a Twitter account."

It was an expensive joke for A&E ... which according to the NY Post, paid Obama $400k for the speaking engagement. He's reportedly making that same amount to speak at an upcoming Health conference put on by Wall Street firm Cantor Fitzgerald.

"Silicon Valley" star Amanda Crew got an eyeful of some guy's junk when she checked her text messages ... but her cool chick reaction made his day.

Amanda says the strange schlong came in the middle of a string of texts from a guy who thought he was texting someone named Sarah. He started, "Hey sexy girl. Can't wait to see you again."

Then came the pecker shot. Amanda let him down easily, and then posted the full exchange. She was nice enough to remove his phallus though.

The lesson: beware wrong numbers while sexting. Ya probably won't be as lucky as this guy.

Skrillex was pulled over and handcuffed Wednesday night, and he blamed Elon Musk.

Law enforcement sources tell us the superstar DJ was driving on the Sunset Strip in his Tesla with music -- his own music -- blaring for all to hear.

Cops pulled him over to deal with the noise issue, but when they asked for ID, Skrillex came up empty-handed. That prompted the cops to order him out of the car and then slap on the cuffs.

Cops somehow figured out he was Skrillex and the car was his ... they uncuffed him, cited him for a noise violation and driving without proper ID, and let him go on his merry way.

Skrillex then took to Twitter and complained to Elon ... but it's really more like a Tesla endorsement.
