Bill Cosby Celebs Blacklisted by Insurance Companies Because of 'Cosby Effect'
Bill Cosby has made it next to impossible for entertainers and athletes to get insurance companies to write them adequate policies protecting them from lawsuits.
Various well connected sources in the insurance industry tell us, the flood of accusations and lawsuits against Cosby has scared insurance companies, which now realize the comedian's insurance company may have to pay out tens of millions of dollars to his alleged victims.
It all centers around umbrella policies ... which allow people to get massive supplements to their homeowners and auto policies. Celebs with lots of money often get umbrella policies that will cover $20 million to $30 million in lawsuit judgments.
We're told in recent years insurance companies have been reluctant to write umbrella policies for high-profile people -- especially athletes. Our sources say it goes beyond celebs who commit misdeeds. Insurance companies know high-profile people have become targets for people who just want to make a quick buck.
"The Cosby Effect" has now made it next to impossible for entertainers, athletes and other people who have fame and fortune.

Madeleine Stowe Naked & Afraid ... I Was Robbed at Gunpoint
Madeleine Stowe says she survived a terrifying ordeal -- a home intruder putting a gun to her neck in the middle of the night, and making off with $75k worth of jewelry.
According to law enforcement docs ... Stowe and her husband, Brian Benben, were asleep at home last September, when she was awakened by someone rummaging through their master bathroom. Madeleine, who was nude at the time, says she went to check it out -- and was confronted by a Latino man, the intruder, who pointed a handgun to her neck.
The former "Revenge" star told police the man spoke in broken English and demanded, "I want all the valuable, I want something." She says she gave him a bag filled with $75k worth of antique jewelry, and then he made a clean getaway.
A few months later cops busted the suspect, Walter Canizalez, as he was allegedly attempting another heist. Police believe he's pulled 3 other armed home robberies, and he's been charged with more than 15 counts ... including robbery and sexual battery.

Warren Sapp You've Got a Clean Slate ... After Brutal 2015
Warren Sapp is officially out of the woods ... finally off probation after a tumultuous 2015, a year that included charges for prostitution and domestic violence.
Let's not forget how totally screwed Sapp was this time last year ...
He was arrested for prostitution in Arizona in Feb. 2015 ... and a few months later, cops in Vegas popped him for domestic violence. Officials say he stomped on his girlfriend's head and bit her.
Sapp cut a huge deal to keep him out of jail in the hooker case -- officials would drop the charges when he finished counseling. But if he got in trouble before he completed the classes, all bets were off.
Fast forward to April 2015, the domestic violence incident. He got 6 months probation in that case ... while prosecutors in AZ argued that the incident violated the terms of their deal.
In fact, AZ prosecutors begged the judge to throw Sapp in jail! But the NFL star dodged a bullet (proving he completed the classes right before the Vegas arrest) ... and the charges were dropped.
Now, we've learned his Vegas probation is over ... so, for all intents and purposes, Sapp has a clean slate.
Don't screw it up.

Journey thinks Monster just got "cold feet," and decided to book a cheaper act. They're suing for breach of contract and want the dough.

Joan Rivers Malpractice Suit Settled for Millions
The Joan Rivers malpractice lawsuit has settled for millions of dollars ... TMZ has learned.
Melissa Rivers sued the clinic where Joan Rivers slipped into unconsciousness and never recovered. Melissa sued Yorkville Endoscopy as well as Dr. Gwen Korovin, the doctor who allegedly was not authorized to be in the surgery room and was working on Joan when the emergency occurred.
The settlement came very quickly by legal standards ... it never even reached the deposition stage.
As for the money, our sources would not be specific, but one source insinuated it is in the 8 figures.
You may recall one of the doctors took a cell phone pic of Joan when she was under, which became quite embarrassing for the clinic.
Melissa Rivers says she's happy "those culpable for [Joan's] death have accepted responsibility for their actions quickly and without equivocation." She hopes the lawsuit and settlement will force an elevation of standards in outpatient surgery clinics.

Ex-UFC Fighter Diego Brandao Yes, I Pulled a Gun at Strip Club
Ex-UFC fighter Diego Brandao has admitted to pulling a gun during an altercation with bouncers at an Albuquerque strip club ... but the former "Ultimate Fighter" champ insists it was only in self-defense.
TMZ Sports obtained video of Brandao being grilled by cops following his arrest on April 15th -- during an incident in which cops say the fighter pistol-whipped a bouncer at Knockouts bar after he was denied entry. The bouncers told cops Brandao was too drunk to get in.
During the interrogation, the 28-year-old Brazilian fighter begins by adamantly denying he ever had a weapon -- but the cops pressed him hard and warned there would be consequences if he was lying.
"Listen, you just said you don't wanna f*** your life," one of the cops told Brandao ... "If anybody comes up with video showing that you had a gun, you're life is gonna be f***ed."
Brandao immediately changed his story and admitted to having the gun -- but says he only pulled it out because one the bouncers had a gun. Plus, Brandao says he was being choked out and wanted to put a stop to it.
When cops asked Brandao what happened to his gun, the UFC fighter said he broke it into several pieces and scattered them away from the bar.
During the interrogation, cops suggest there may be video of the entire incident -- and it could hold the key to Brandao's case.
We spoke with a rep for the Bernalillo County District Attorney's office ... who tells us prosecutors are still considering whether or not to file formal charges.

Chris Brown Pisses Off Cops with Doughnuts
Chris Brown is no Ice Cube ... because when he says "f*** the police" they take it real personal.
Brown was going crazy Wednesday at around 6 PM on an ATV in his Tarzana neighborhood. He and a buddy were doing doughnuts, ending up on a lawn or 2 ... then racing up and down the street.
The neighbors were pissed for several reasons. The ATVs were making ear-shattering noise ... also kids were playing in the street. Someone confronted Brown and threatened to call the cops if he didn't stop. We're told Brown responded, "F*** you and f*** the cops."
The neighbor was true to his word and called police, who came knocking at Chris' door and asked to speak with him. The person who answered said Chris would not come to the door and if they had a problem they should call his lawyer.
The police were not amused. We're told they will go to the L.A. City Attorney and recommend prosecution for the crime of disturbing the peace.
Law enforcement tells us Brown has become hated in the neighborhood. Residents have been complaining of non-stop nocturnal noise and they say gangbangers have been coming in and out of his house.

Shaun White Band Member Sues You're a Sexual Harassing Diva
Snowboarding legend Shaun White is being sued by the drummer of his rock band Bad Things -- who says White was a controlling, self-centered diva ... who sexually harassed her for years.
The woman behind the lawsuit is Lena Zawaideh -- who formed the band with White back in 2008.
Zawaideh claims White immediately took the role as band leader due to his fame and connections -- and worked out a deal to pay Lena and the rest of the members $3,750 per month to be in the group.
But things turned ugly in 2013 ... with White allegedly demanding the band to follow him around the country to rehearse while he was training for the Olympics.
Zawaideh also claims White forced her to rehearse while sick, demanded she cut her hair before a show in France ... and ultimately stopped paying her because he felt she didn't need the money.
The most serious allegation in her lawsuit, Zawaideh claims White "made inappropriate and sexually harassing and suggestive comments" to her in person and in texts.
Zawaideh says White owes her more than $42k in back payments -- but she wants A LOT more than that now ... because she's suing for punitive damages.
We've reached out to White's camp -- so far, no word back.
