Jason Oppenheim Some Realtors See No Problem with a Jew Representing Kanye ... In Sale of Malibu Estate

Jason Oppenheim, president and founder of the famed Oppenheim Group, is now representing Kanye West in the sale of his Malibu beachfront estate, and there's been some criticism Oppenheim should not represent an antisemite, but we've contacted some high-end realtors who feel it's absurd to have a litmus test on which clients they will represent.
The L.A. realtors we've spoken with say there is no way in this divided social and political climate anyone can do business by excluding clients whose views they find offensive. The example that repeatedly comes up is the war in the Middle East. As one high-end realtor put it, "What are we supposed to do, ask a potential client if they side with Israel or Palestine?"
An extremely successful L.A. realtor begged to differ, saying, "Wait a minute. Kanye is one of the biggest antisemites in the world. I would never represent him, ever."
But another realtor said, "Are we supposed to see if a client is a registered Republican and say screw you, I'm not representing you?"
It goes beyond religion and politics ... one realtor said, "What if a client has an offensive post on Instagram? Or what if a client's in the middle of nasty divorce and I side with their spouse?"
Several realtors said it's ridiculous to think they would Google every prospective client to look for a reason not to represent that person.
And one realtor, who was at one time a practicing lawyer, said it's absurd to think an attorney would judge a client before taking a case, adding, "It's just not reality."
And a realtor we spoke with said what if a client had a different view on gay marriage? He said, "At some point it just becomes impossible to do business."
DECEMBER 2022
That same realtor asked, "What about the buyer who pays Kanye $53 million for the Malibu property?" before adding, "What if Kanye goes to a Mercedes dealership. Should they not sell him a car?"
We tried contacting Jason Oppenheim, but could not get a comment.

KANYE WEST TAKE A LOOK INSIDE GUTTED MALIBU PAD ... On Market For $53M!!
Kanye West's completely gutted beachfront Malibu pad clearly needs a whole lotta love ... with aerial snaps showing just how soulless it looks pre-renovations.
Despite the mansion being listed for an eye-watering $53M, the new owners will have to drop plenty more $$$ to breathe some life into the unbearably bare 3-story abode -- which doesn't even have plumbing, electrical, or HVAC.
Obviously, this means the 4,000 square ft home can get a total transformation ... as it won't come with the rapper's favored minimalistic aesthetics, but it currently sticks out like a sore thumb, nestled among the other coastal properties.
Kanye purchased it a few years back for $57M ... and began remodeling it with famous architect Tadao Ando -- though it's found itself in a lawsuit.
As we reported ... Kanye is being sued by the former project manager who was overseeing the remodel ... who wasn't happy about the gutting.
But "Selling Sunset" star Jason Oppenheim, who has the listing, isn't fussed about the legalities ... telling us it's a rare chance for the new owners to restore the waterfront property to their own taste.

Taraji P. Henson I'm Way Underpaid In Hollywood ... And I'm Tired of This Crap!!!
Taraji P. Henson is tired of working her butt off in Hollywood and being paid a fraction of what she feels she's worth ... getting emotional over what she says is a huge pay gap.
The actress broke down in tears when asked if she was seriously considering quitting acting, telling Gayle King she feels uncertain about her on-screen career, and money's the main factor.
Taraji says she's still being underpaid for big movie roles despite being a well-established and super famous actress ... reaching a boiling point.
The way Taraji explains it ... even if she's paid $10 million for a movie, she won't see anywhere near that when the dust settles ... taxes take a huge chunk and then she's got to break off a bunch of money for her team.
Taraji says ... "the math ain't mathin" .... and it sounds like this has been an issue for her going back a while now.
In her interview with Gayle, in which she's plugging her new movie "The Color Purple," Taraji recalls her contract for 'Benjamin Button' ... she says she was asking for $500,000 and was only paid $100,000.
Taraji's gone on to do tons of movies and win awards, but she says every time she thinks she's broken through, she's humbled at the negotiating table.
It's an emotional conversation ... and Taraji is not alone in this boat in Hollywood.

'Home Alone' McCallister Family Was Top 1% Wealth ... So Say Economists
Macaulay Culkin's family in 'Home Alone' was certainly presented as wealthy in the flick -- but as it turns out, they were actually in the top 1% ... according to real-world economists.
The NYT asked a question that's been on movie lovers' minds for years now -- just how rich were the McCallisters??? They ended up consulting experts at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago -- plus diving into a ton of other research -- to get somewhat of a clear answer.
For starters, the outlet went to real estate sites like Realtor.com to gauge where exactly they lived in Chi-Town -- and about how much their mansion might've cost back in the late '80s/early '90s, the period in which the film is depicted. 'Memba, it came out in 1990.
Per the Times, the house that was used as the famous exterior for 'HA' actually belongs to a super ritzy burb in Chicago called Winnetka -- one of the most expensive neighborhoods in America. Based on median incomes for folks who lived there back in the day ... the economists the NYT consulted peg the McCallisters as a likely $305,000/year household.
Mind you, they landed on that amount for the time period ... so, adjusted for inflation, that comes out to about $665,000/year in 2022. In other words, they're pretty GD rich.
Now, in terms of how Kevin McCallister and co. made that type of money and what his parents might've done for work -- the Times uses context clues in the movie to speculate that the mom was a successful fashion designer, and that pops was a general businessman.
It's a pretty fascinating deep dive into the beloved classic -- and if they were, in fact, as ballin' as the Times suggests ... it makes sense why the Wet Bandits targeted their home.
Merry Christmas, you filthy (broke) animals.

"Vanderpump Rules" star Randall Emmett has put his beautiful L.A. pad back on the market, a place he and Lala Kent used to call home is now discounted ... relatively speaking, anyway.
Randall's spacious house, on the iconic Mulholland Drive, has been listed once again for $4.995 million -- yes, nearly $5 mil can be a deal in L.A.'s crazy market.
The 4,276-square-foot property comes with a long swimming pool, a pickleball court and huge windows offering a great view of the surrounding area.
TMZ broke the story, Randall first listed the spot in May of last year, asking $6.295M for the pad ... since then, it's gone through numerous price changes -- dropping to $5.7M, then a flat $5 mil and now even lower!.
He's also temporarily pulled the plug on selling the property, and ended up listing it for rent for a while. It's unclear if anyone ever took him up on the rental offer, but now the sale goes on.
You'll recall, the OG listing came after Randall and Lala called off their 3-year engagement, which resulted in her moving out. A source told us Randall was looking for a bigger home for his family after the split.
David T. Kessler of Coldwell Banker Realty holds the listing.

Boxing Star Dmitry Bivol Shovels Praise On Jake Paul 'I Respect Him'

Dmitry Bivol -- one of the biggest names in boxing -- is giving Jake Paul his flowers ... telling TMZ Sports the internet star's fighting career is impressing the hell out of him.
"To be honest," Bivol told us just days after Paul scored a violent knockout win over Andre August, "I like that the guy who's not boxer, he really loves the sport."
"We see he's training hard. I respect him for this."

Of course, when Paul first got into the boxing biz, many saw it as a gimmick -- as he was fighting social media personalities and former professional athletes. In fact, Canelo Alvarez said back in 2020 that Jake and his brother, Logan, were displaying a "lack of respect" for the fight game with their choices of matchups (an opinion he later changed his tune on).
But, Bivol made it clear to us he's loving what he's seeing from Jake -- saying the 26-year-old is taking all the right steps when it comes to being a real-deal pugilist.
"He's going and doing his fighting," said Bivol, who beat Canelo back in May 2022. "He's not just like, 'I will beat everyone' and think like this."
Paul is currently 8-1 in his career with five knockouts -- and he's made such an impact on the sport through his nine fights so far, Team USA boxing just partnered with him so he can help promote Olympic fighters as they get ready for the Paris Games in 2024.
As for Bivol's own boxing career -- he's got a big tilt coming up this weekend against Lyndon Arthur on DAZN's Day of Reckoning card ... but, if he gets by that matchup, don't expect him to get in between the ropes with Paul anytime soon.
"My goal is not about money now," he said of a potential fight with the YouTuber-turned-fighter. "My goal is about belts."

Kanye West Selling Malibu Pad For $53 Million ... After Gutting The Place

Kanye West will no longer be tied down to the Malibu beach home he bought for tens of millions of dollars only to totally gut it ... he just put it on the market with a celeb realtor.
Ye is asking for $53 million for the beachfront home he bought a couple years ago for $57 million ... and 'Selling Sunset' star Jason Oppenheim has the listing.
This is the place Kanye was remodeling with famous architect Tadao Ando ... and it's also at the center of a lawsuit.
The Malibu mansion is huge at 4,000 square feet but there's a catch ... Kanye's renovation gutted the property, removing all the home's windows and electricity.
As we reported ... Kanye is being sued by the former project manager who was overseeing the remodel ... and the guy says they had a huge falling out over Ye's insistence on ripping out plumbing, electrical and HVAC.
Jason tells TMZ ... "The interior finishes have been removed, and this creates an unbelievably rare opportunity to buy a Picasso on the water with the ability to restore it to your own specific standards, with modern technology and excellence."
While there's a lot of work needed, the home is smack in the middle of Malibu and right on the water's edge ... so it's sure to get a lot of interest.

Deep breath paisanos, PR crisis averted for Tommy DeVito! 😰
Just hours after the NYG signal caller caught grief online, DeVito made things right with a local Jersey restaurant owner and fans by showing up and hanging out with a gang of Big Blue fans ... where he took photos, signed autographs, and ate!
The controversy started this week when the owners of Coniglio's Old Fashioned pizzeria in Morristown (NJ) accused the 25-year-old rookie of going back on his word, alleging Tommy agreed to a $10k appearance fee, only to double his rate after the Giants' big MNF win over the Packers on December 11.
But, we're told the whole thing was just a big misunderstanding.
Sean Salci, DeVito's marketing agent and attorney, told us his client wasn't aware of what was going on, and there was never a concrete deal in place.
Still, DeVito was criticized, and the young signal caller wanted to make everyone happy ... so he made a surprise appearance at the pizza parlor.
"DeVito and the owner made good," Salci said. "He got the full experience today."
Class Act: Giants QB Tommy DeVito showed up on his own this afternoon and unpaid to Coniglios, the pizza shop that originally had scheduled an appearance.

Kim & Kroy Slash Mansion Price by $500k ... We Gotta Sell, Sell, Sell!!!
-
Exclusive
Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann are desperate to unload their Georgia mansion to mitigate their money woes ... evidenced by the fact they just dropped their asking price by a serious chunk of change.
The on-and-off couple -- who are still in the middle of a divorce -- are now asking $5,500,000 for their Milton, GA estate ... after initially listing it for $6 mil in October.
Not the biggest slash in the world, but it is substantial ... and obviously, they hope the move will get someone to bite. Time will tell if it works -- fact is, the housing market is a bit sluggish right now, and interest rates are quite high.
The other thing to consider here, comparable houses in their immediate area -- in some cases, on the same street -- are going for considerably less money ... so they might need to go even lower than this.
Remember, Kroy was recently begging a judge to allow him to put the house up for sale as a way to deal with the mounting debt they find themselves in ... and it looks like he and Kim finally got on the same page, despite their ongoing back-and-forth feuding/making up.
Whether they end up sticking at $5.5M or dropping their price to a bit less, they'll still clean up compared to what they bought this crib for back in 2012 ... just $880,000 at the time.
At this point, ya figure they'll have to take what they can get ... but it seems like they're trying to maximize that. KZ and KB are deep in the red, and need every penny they can muster.
