Fyre Festival Sandwich Pic Was the Real Scam Guests Had Real Food!!!

Published | Updated

The Fyre Festival's now notorious sandwich photo was the staff lunch and guests actually got awesome food ... so claim sources connected to festival organizers.

We're told guests were served chicken, pasta, burgers and fries and salad ... not just a gnarly cheese sandwich. As for breakfast ... donuts, waffles and coffee.

People who attended the festival tell us quite a few people were actually staying in villas near the campsite ... the tents were low-end accommodations. And, we're told, the people who rented villas had access to speedboats.

We're also told Billy McFarland vows to return everyone's money, and he's "devastated."

We haven't gotten any word that anyone has received a refund ... so far.

As we reported ... there's a $100 million lawsuit against McFarland and Ja Rule, claiming they committed fraud and lied about the festival from the get-go.

Ja Rule's Fyre Festival Bahamas Drops the Hammer ... New Party Rules in Effect

Published | Updated

The Bahamas learned a hard lesson after Ja Rule's Fyre Festival crashed and burned ... and now the government is promising serious policy changes for future island events.

Sources at the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism tell TMZ the agency will be implementing a stricter vetting system for future festivals, and it will check in with organizers multiple times during the planning process.

We're told the only reason the Ministry didn't step in sooner with the Fyre Festival is because it didn't have the authority. It was a private event, so the government couldn't get involved until guests' safety became an issue.

As we first reported, the Fyre disaster could end up costing the island nation millions of dollars -- it's a bad look for a country that relies heavily on tourism. The MOT says organizers for Fyre have taken full responsibility, and going forward ... the Bahamas will take appropriate steps to protect its good name.

Also, not shockingly, we're told Ja and Billy McFarland have been barred from repeat business on the islands.

Donnell Rawlings Delta Fight Was Totally Avoidable Follow These Rules, Folks

Published | Updated

Donnell Rawlings isn't surprised the Delta fight went down in the ATL ... but he says it was totally avoidable if people would just do a few simple things onboard the aircraft.

We got the comedian Sunday at LAX and asked about the Delta brawl where a pilot punched a woman in who was in an all-out brawl with another passenger. He had A LOT to say.

Donnell's not surprised it went down in Atlanta, and his reasoning is pretty hilarious.

As for the pilot ... Donnell says he must've gotten some combat training somewhere ... like a Trump rally or something.

CLOSE-UP OF THE FIGHT

The Delta pilot who smacked a passenger and then walked away delivered the punch to get the woman to release a choke hold she had on the woman she was fighting ... at least that's what the airline concluded.

When you watch the video, it's confusing. It appears the pilot almost gratuitously delivers the punch out of frustration and then walks away. But a Delta official tells TMZ the video doesn't show everything, and based on interviews with the pilot, eyewitnesses and information from cops ... the pilot saw the woman in question choking out the other woman. And the pilot did what he could to release the dangerous grip.

As we reported ... the pilot was taken off duty after the incident but put back on the schedule after the airline concluded he did nothing wrong.

Neither of the women wanted to press charges against anyone.

The Chainsmokers Crash Chi-Town Senior Prom

The Chainsmokers gave a class of seniors in Chicago a gigantic surprise when the boyz crashed their prom.

The DJ'ing duo played a surprise set Saturday night for Chi-Town's Huntley High School at at the Hyatt Regency hotel, right after their concert across the street at the Allstate Arena.

Turns out the performance was pre-planned -- and free if you can believe it. Some kid from the school had contacted their management a couple weeks before to schedule the "impromptu" show. Most of the kids at the prom had no idea they would show.

However it came to be ... they rocked the house.

'The Simpsons' Spoofs Trump's First 100 Days ... Kill Spicer, Put Ivanka On SCOTUS

Published | Updated

"The Simpsons" envision Ivanka Trump as a Supreme Court Justice, and Sean Spicer killing himself ... at least in the show's version of Donald Trump's first 100 days in office.

The spoof airs on Sunday's episode, and even the staunchest Trump haters would have to say it's super dark -- Spicer hanging himself in the White House Press Room, Ruth Bader Ginsburg getting 86'd for Ivanka, while hawking robes and the prez himself weeping over ... well, you gotta watch.

Of course, Trump's made no secret of his love for FOX News. Gotta wonder if he'll be watching the mother ship Sunday night.

Justin Bieber Sorry, Kendrick ... I Won't Sit Down to be 'HUMBLE.'

Published | Updated

Justin Bieber's dance moves are about to go viral -- dude was GIGGIN' hard to Kendrick Lamar's new single at an NBA playoff game ... awkwardness be damned.

The Biebs had box seats for Game 5 of the Clippers/Jazz series in L.A. Tuesday night, and was inspired to get up and dance when he heard Kendrick's song, "HUMBLE."

Some ticket holders got an up close and personal show of JB doing his thing ... especially the guy next to him. Too close, maybe.

Kendrick was in the house, and had the honor of sitting courtside. Key word ... sitting. No one knows his music better than K-Dot.

Doris' 1-year death anniversary was actually last Monday ... so we're not too sure how to explain the delayed reactions. Either these well-wishers have been living under a rock all this time, or ... no, that's the only explanation.

Soooo ... RIP, Doris. Again ... still.

April the Giraffe Park on the Hunt for Sponsors For Baby-Naming Ceremony

Published | Updated

April the Giraffe is coming back online post-birth ... but she needs some serious cash flow for the sake of the animals.

The indoor camera feed that captured the birth of April's baby will be re-launched next week. This one won't run 24/7 -- it'll have set times. This time we'll see April indoors and out.

Here's the catch ... April needs new sponsors, and the zoo she's staying at is taking bids.

Folks at the Animal Adventure Park tell us they're accepting 2 sponsors to help continue their conservation efforts -- one for the live stream, and another for the live web show next Monday where they'll announce the calf's name.

A third of the proceeds will go to the park, another third to the Giraffe Conservation Fund and the remainder to a charity -- Ava's Little Heroes -- that helps families with unforeseen medical costs.

As we reported ... April's live stream pulled in some big viewer numbers, with Toys 'R' Us sponsoring the live stream.

We did some checking, and it looks like the new deal could rake in 6 figures.

United Airlines Would-Be World's Biggest Rabbit Dies Onboard Flight to U.S.

Published | Updated

United Airlines is catching more flak this week after a rabbit set to become the world's biggest bunny died on-board one of its flights.

The 3-foot bunny named Simon reportedly died Monday night on a United flight from Heathrow to O'Hare -- yes, really.

The breeder, Annette Edwards, says Simon was healthy before boarding ... but was found dead in the plane's cargo hold upon landing. It was reportedly on its way to a new celeb owner in the States.

The rabbits cost around $6,400 to raise, and Edwards sells them for $640 a pop. Simon, who was 10 months old, was expected to surpass his 4-foot, 4-inch dad ... and snag the record for world's biggest.

United -- which is already dealing with a PR nightmare -- reportedly said it was saddened to hear this news and that it's trying to determine why Simon died.

Pro Golfer Matt Goggin United Went All Dao On My Clubs!

Published | Updated

Matt Goggin wants justice for his broken golf clubs -- he's just afraid to demand it from United Airlines for fear of getting manhandled a la Dr. David Dao.

The Australian pro golfer's pissed off about 3 of his clubs getting snapped at the head. As he put it ... it's the first time in more than 20 years his gear got destroyed in flight.

Naturally, Goggin was looking to give someone an earful -- if only he had flown a different airline. He tweeted, "I was going to complain but I must admit I'm a little intimidated by @united."

He's obviously referring to the infamous video of Dao getting jacked up.

Lucky for Matt, TaylorMade Golf responded and promised to replace the clubs. As for United? Maybe they've just got bigger fish to fry.

Dr. David Dao's Lawyer Repping Mom from American Airlines 'Her Concern Was Her Child'

Published | Updated

Dr. David Dao's lawyer from the United incident is now on board for the mom from the American Airlines incident, but it sounds like this one ain't going to court.

Attorney Tom Demetrio went on "Today" Monday morning to announce he's representing her, and clarifies she was not actually struck by the stroller, but says the flight attendant came damn close to hitting his client's baby.

He admits the fact that neither mother nor child were actually struck means a lawsuit probably won't happen. As we reported, American suspended the employee, apologized for his actions and upgraded the mother to first class for the remainder of her trip to Argentina.

Meanwhile, Demetrio says Dr. Dao is still hurt from the United confrontation, and confirms what we already suspected ... they're filing suit.

April the Giraffe Live Stream ... By the Numbers

Published | Updated

April the Giraffe's live viewing party is hours away from coming to an end, but when the lights go out, the final numbers for the 2 month long Internet sensation will be staggering.

The Animal Adventure Park in NY is cutting the live stream Friday at 4:30 PM ET ... and it's already had nearly 232 MILLION viewers since it started on February 10.

Total minutes spent watching -- and mostly waiting for April to give birth -- is 8 BILLION minutes worldwide. We're told 1.2 million people were watching when she finally did squeeze out her calf last weekend.

Make no mistake ... April made history, because YouTube tells us her channel is the second most live-viewed ever. Only League of Legends eSports channel has more, and you don't get the miracle of life watching that!

The big winner here is obviously Toys 'R' Us -- which came on as a sponsor, pre-birth.

Peace out, April. Thanks for mammaries memories!

Starbucks Barista Not Getting Fired Post-Frappuccino Trashing

Published | Updated

The Starbucks barista who blasted his company's glitter-coated sensation -- the Unicorn Frapp -- is NOT getting canned, and is actually getting a promotion of sorts.

Our Starbucks sources say Braden Burson will not be disciplined by bosses at the Colorado shop where he works -- despite his social media bitching about too many people ordering the beverage he calls a nightmare to make.

In fact, a rep for the company told us the brass is interested in hearing more of Braden's feedback to improve the experience for customers and employees. It sounds too good to be true: Trash your employer's product, then get invited to chat with the bosses?

We're a bit skeptical too ... especially since Braden's video has all the markings of a brilliant viral ad campaign. BTW, he's since deleted the vid ... another common viral strategy.

But if people keep ordering the new frapp, and he keeps complaining ... who knows? Kid could make VP before he's 20!

Betsy DeVos Sec. of 'Educatuon' ... White House Trollin'?

Published | Updated

Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos got a new title Monday, courtesy of a seriously ironic White House flub ... and we'd like to believe we're being trolled. No, we HOPE we're being trolled.

The White House posted a pic of DeVos reading to a bunch of kids at the annual Easter Egg Roll, but labeled her "Secretary of Educatuon" in the caption.

Of course, the Internet's been going off in the comments, but this is hardly the first typo in White House press releases under the Trump administration. Is someone just having a laugh, or ...

Thoghts?
