11:32 AM PT -- A rep for ESPN tells TMZ Sports, "As the show progressed, we felt Bomani had made his point and had openly discussed why he was wearing the shirt, and we wanted to keep the focus to the topics of the day."

A cover-up at ESPN ... well, more a like a partial cover-up ... when Bomani Jones was asked to cover up his t-shirt that had the word, "Caucasians" printed across the chest.

The shirt is mocking the Cleveland Indians logo -- which many people find offensive. The shirt also flips the script by replacing the image of Chief Wahoo with a blonde white guy with the dollar symbol poking out from the back of his head.

Sources tell us, "ESPN freaked out" and asked Jones to cover up his shirt. We're told midway through the show, BJ slightly compromised and partially zipped up the front of his hoodie ... hiding part of the image.

JCPenney is defending its "period skirt" to the max, touting it looks good any time of the month.

The chain is now responding to criticism that the design on the fabric looks like a woman bleeding out as she strolls down the street ... seemingly unaware she's attracting sharks.

The store responds, "We think it's a fab skirt for any time of the month. Period."

Now for what we think is the real story. Penney's new CEO, Marvin Ellison, has vowed to rebrand the struggling chain, making it more modern. He's already made strides, and you gotta believe someone in his brain trust mentioned the design would be slammed by angry women.

Here's the other side ... Ellison clearly knew the skirt would attract attention, so at least to us it seems like a clever plan from the get-go.

The melee that erupted around Kylie Jenner -- between a defensive grandfather and photogs -- was fueled by alcohol ... according to the grandpa's family.

We spoke to the mother of one of the 3 girls who were waiting for Kylie outside The Nice Guy Saturday night ... when the girls' grandfather opened a can of whoopass on the paps.

Sporting overalls and a cig hanging out of his mouth -- gramps looked like he was straight out of central casting, but his daughter says the fight wasn't an attempt to grab the spotlight ... it's just that he was drunk.

The mother, who wants to remain anonymous, tells us grandpa had a few drinks before going out, and then some more at a bar in Hollywood. She says the family had gone to The Nice Guy specifically to see KJ, because her 11-year-old daughter and her 2 friends are obsessed.

She says the girls are now grounded from following Kylie because she doesn't want people thinking they're stalkers. As for grandpa -- she insists he's normally a "warm, caring man."

This is Courtney Stodden at her most interesting -- setting herself on fire. Seriously.

She was attempting some sort of seance on Periscope Sunday night when she apparently unwittingly dipped her bleach blonde hair into a burning candle.

Chris Brown called himself a "piece of sh*t" this morning after ranting against R&B singer Kehlani ... essentially saying her suicidal episode is a P.R. stunt concocted for sympathy.

Brown -- who's friends with Kehlani's NBA star ex-boyfriend Kyrie Irving -- went off on Kehlani in the middle of the night saying, "There is no attempting suicide. Stop flexing for the gram. Doing sh*t for sympathy so them comments under your pics don't look so bad."

As we previously reported, Kehlani was placed on a psychiatric hold Monday after posing a threat to herself in the wake of rumors she cheated on Irving with a previous boyfriend.

For the record, Kehlani strongly DENIES cheating -- saying she and Irving were broken up when she got back with her ex.

But Brown ain't buyin' it -- trashing Kehlani in several tweets ... and saying she's basically been blackballed from NBA games.

The Internet went insane over Brown's comments -- with people coming out of the woodwork to blast the singer for being insensitive.

Brown responded by saying, "I'll be the BIGGEST PIECE OF 💩. But ima ride for my Homies regardless. KYRIE is probably one of the only good guys left. IDGAF!!!"

As for Kehlani, it's unclear if she's in the hospital -- but sources close to the singer tell us she's doing much better.

Lamar Odom is playing with fire -- boozing at an Irish bar early Easter Sunday morning ... hours before he went to church with the Kardashians ... TMZ Sports has learned.

We spoke with multiple staffers and patrons at the bar who tell us Odom arrived to Johnny O'Brien pub in Sherman Oaks, CA with 2 unidentified male friends just before midnight on Saturday -- and stayed until around 1 AM on Sunday.

Staffers confirmed Odom ordered 3 Remy Martin drinks and paid for them himself.

Hours later, Odom was spotted at church with Khloe Kardashian and company ... wearing the same sweatshirt, shades and chain. He was holding a Starbucks coffee cup.

The whole situation is concerning to say the least -- considering Odom has serious substance abuse issues ... which culminated back in October when he overdosed on cocaine and sexual enhancement pills.

Odom's body has been through war -- he suffered multiple strokes and organ damage due to the overdose ... so drinking might be the last thing you'd expect to see him do.

We reached out to Odom's camp several times -- but so far, it's radio silence.

Margaret Cho pissed off an entire comedy club, sparking fights as she went off about being a rape victim, and ripped into white audience members.

TMZ obtained the video shot at the Stress Factory in New Brunswick, NJ Saturday night ... and you can hear the crowd is restless and angry. Witnesses tell us Cho started her set with a "debbie downer" discussion of her rape, Garry Shandling's death ... and white people having it so easy.

We're told she also made several gay jokes, and at least one such punchline led to 2 men in the audience fighting.

When much of the crowd had enough, they broke for the exit. As one angry customer put it, "This is comedy before Easter?? Rape, rape, rape?"

We're told Cho called some of the people bailing, racists and overprivileged white people. She blurted out, "You will never get a cent of the money back that you paid."

We've reached out to Cho and her team, but no response yet. On Twitter, she blamed the mess on jet lag ... but felt there was nothing wrong with talking rape during her routine.

It's no wonder Katt Williams got tossed around like a rag doll by a 17-year-old boy ... the kid was a bona fide high school wrestler.

A spring break bro with a cannon for an arm is facing up to 6 months in jail after nailing a cop car with his football -- a dumbass move that went viral.

Gulf Shores PD in Alabama has issued an arrest warrant for Kameron Lane Heady after officers, like thousands of other people, saw the clip of Heady winding up and targeting one of their units patrolling the beach last week.

Cops down in Gulf Shores responded to the video with their own, saying -- "Great arm, Bad decision" and informed Heady they were looking to put him in cuffs. Sounds funny, but cops tell us they're serious as a judge in a wet t-shirt contest.

Cops tell us Kam hasn't turned himself in yet. Max punishment if he's convicted of misdemeanor harassment would be a $500 fine and 6 months in jail. It's unlikely he'd get locked up, but that $500 would buy a lot o' kegs.

Seems Draymond Green is off the hook for that whole 118 mph video -- with the California Highway Patrol telling us "We can’t investigate an infraction that wasn’t committed in our presence."

As we previously reported, Green posted a video of a car hitting 118 mph on a NorCal highway on his Snapchat ... and in what might have been a confession, he later called the whole thing "bad judgment."

We spoke with the California Highway Patrol to find out if they're investigating the situation and they told us straight up -- no.

"The CHP is not investigating this video because it’s not at the level of reckless driving," CHP public information officer Daniel Hill tells us.

"Driving over 100, though dangerous, is not necessarily reckless. It would just be an infraction and we can’t investigate an infraction that wasn’t committed in our presence."

A 17-year-old whose breast was exposed during a Madonna concert in Australia could have gotten the singer in some serious legal trouble, but turns out Madonna's instincts were good.

Josephine Georgiou was pulled onstage at Madonna's Brisbane concert Thursday night and without warning the singer yanked Josephine's top, exposing her left breast to the audience.

There's an Australian criminal law that prohibits anyone from touching a woman's breasts, even over clothing. Australian authorities tell TMZ, they would only go after Madonna if the alleged victim complains, and Josephine thinks what Madonna did was awesome.

Josephine, who appears to be an aspiring model, says, "Seriously, why would I sue Madonna for the best moment of my life?"

BTW, the age of consent in Australia is 16, although the indecent assault law applies to minors and adults.

And one more thing ... if you type "Josephine" in Google this morning, it autofills her last name as one of the top results.

Forever 21 has pulled a controversial t-shirt after getting a huge backlash from consumers who called the gear "shameful" and "rapey."

The graphic tee featured a slogan that seemingly referred to sexual consent: "Don't Say Maybe If You Want To Say No." The Internet response was overwhelmingly negative, with Twitter users accusing Forever 21 of cracking jokes at the expense of rape victims.

Justin Bieber's world tour opener at KeyArena went off without a hitch, with one small exception -- the people who made some of his merch would've bombed in a 3rd grade spelling bee.

One of the t-shirts sold inside the concert had white lettering that read, "Many Are The Plans In A Person's Heart, But It Is God's Purose that Prevails." Ooops.

We found out Bitter Face Vending Inc. was hawking the gear ... but it was printed by a company called Bravado. One "Belieber" told us she dropped $45 for one, but didn't notice the error because of all the mayhem surrounding the booth.
