Tori's Ex Spills Spelling Secrets
Being married to Tori Spelling comes with many perks, one of them being privy to intimate details about the Spelling household.
Charlie Shanian, the first Mr. Tori Spelling, is breaking his silence to "The Dr. Keith Ablow Show" and opening up about his high profile marriage and his ex-wife's relationship with her parents, Aaron and Candy Spelling.
Charlie reveals to the syndicated talk show that Candy told him if he didn't sign the pre-nuptial agreement the invitations to the wedding would not go out in the mail.
Bobby's New "Tenderoni" -- Video Vixen?
Recent reports have suggested that Karrine Steffans, the self-proclaimed "Video Vixen," may have caused the impending divorce of Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown. But a source with knowledge of the relationship tells TMZ that it's Brown who has sought out Steffans for moral and financial support: He stays at her L.A. home "frequently" and Karrine actually ponies up for Bobby's pre-paid cell phone.
As TMZ reported earlier, Houston's publicist Nancy Seltzer confirms the Grammy award-winning singer will file for divorce from husband Bobby Brown. The couple has one child, Bobbi Kristina.
Bobby recently talked about asking out Whitney for the first time on "The Tyra Banks Show."
According to the TMZ source, there is in fact no romance between Brown and Steffans, and that outsiders are creating that illusion because of her past, in which she was known as "Supahead" by legions of R&B and hip-hop artists to whom she provided sexual services on the sets of their videos. She wrote a book about her experiences, "Confessions of a Video Vixen," which was a New York Times bestseller.
Steffans recently told the New York Daily News' Lloyd Grove that her relationship with Brown was "a really tricky situation" and called him her "dearest friend," but wouldn't admit to having a physical relationship. During the summer, at a concert Brown gave with fellow '80s artists Bell Biv Devoe and En Vogue at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles, Steffans was backstage and in fact took Brown home in her car. Brown had told the audience that he and Whitney were on the rocks and that he needed a "tenderoni" to take home; it appears he found that "tenderoni" in the form of Steffans. Brown and Steffans' encounter that night was caught on tape by a show called "I Married A Baller" on the TV One network.
Ironically enough, Steffans told Grove back in August that she didn't want to "wreck any marriages" and that she was "a big fan" of Whitney's. "I want her to come back and sing her heart out," said Karrine of Whitney.

BULLETIN: Whitney Houston To File For Divorce
Singer Whitney Houston will file for divorce from husband Bobby Brown. Houston's rep Nancy Seltzer confirms to TMZ that Houston intends to divorce Brown, and that filing for a separation is just a "legal technicality" on the way to divorce. Seltzer did not divulge any further details concerning where or when the filings were made, and calls to Brown's lawyer were not returned.
Houston and Brown have been married for 14 years and have one daughter, Bobbi Kristina.
Whitney was spotted out last night with producer Clive Davis at the 15th Annual Ella Awards at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills. Davis recently said that a new album from Whitney Houston is in the works.

Celebrity Break-Up Scorecard: Nick vs. Jessica
The question on everyone's lips after TMZ's exclusive story about the Jessica Simpson-Nick Lachey financial settlement was naturally: Who came out on top? From a purely financial standpoint, Jessica may have won the battle, with a far bigger stake of the couple's estate. But who's really winning the post-split war -- if it can be called that -- between the two former "Newlyweds," not just in money, but in love, family, and career? We've done a breakdown of the two stars' lives to see who's going to be the true winner in this relationship when all is said and done.
REBOUND ROMANCE:
Nick: He started off with the mystery girl from Ohio, then there were a couple of outings with Kristin Cavallari, and it seems as though he's found a steady in steamy Vanessa Minnillo -- she even met the family recently.
Jessica: The cloud of rumor started over alleged homewrecker Johnny Knoxville, then moved onto funnyman Dane Cook, and, then, last week, singer-songwriter John Mayer.
ADVANTAGE: NICK. Things are not going your way in the love department when John Mayer calls you "desperate." As for Nick, moving on is always a good thing, especially when your facilitator is as hot as Vanessa is.
Jessica and Nick Settle Money Dispute
TMZ has learned that Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey have divided up the assets in their marriage, and Nick agreed to less than his share in order to avoid an ugly court fight.
The couple amassed a fortune during their three-year marriage, in no small part because of their MTV reality show "Newlyweds" and the avalanche of endorsements and other deals that followed. Jessica refused to sign a prenuptial agreement, so under California law the assets -- estimated at $36 million -- are to be divided equally. So Jessica and Nick should each get $18.
Nick will take significantly more than the $1.5 million, but considerably less than 50%
As TMZ first reported, Jessica (we're told at the behest of her dad, Joe Simpson) offered Nick a relatively measly $1.5 million to walk away from the marriage. Sources say Joe Simpson believed Nick didn't have the stomach to put up a fight over money. Nevertheless, Nick rejected the offer and the former sweethearts decided to make their divorce final and try to hammer out a property settlement.
Sources say in the property settlement -- which has not yet been filed in court -- Nick will take significantly more than the $1.5 million, but considerably less than 50% of what he and Jessica earned during the marriage. Two sources in Nick's camp made it clear to TMZ that Lachey agreed to end the dispute because he does not want to hurt anyone in a contentious court battle.
Ironically last week, a reporter on a red carpet relayed a message from Joe and Jessica Simpson to Nick: "They love you. You're still part of the family." Nick blanched and said "Well, good, that's nice to hear...." The reporter persisted "...Jessica will always love you." Nick's classic reply: "Okay, then!"

Justin vs. Britney The Battle Rages On?
Pop star Justin Timberlake famously put his breakup with Britney Spears to song with his hit "Cry Me a River." But with Justin's new album "FutureSex/LoveSounds" a week away from release, it seems Justin isn't done digging up the past.
In a song on the new album titled, "What Goes Around..." Justin seems to make more references to his former flame. Check out these lyrics and decide for yourself:
"It's breaking my heart to watch you run around
'Cause I know that you're living a lie."
Will Jack White Permanently Dump Meg?
Even though Spin magazine just named the White Stripes one of the top 10 live bands, there is at least a possibility that the duo will not be hitting the stage anytime soon or possibly never again. Obviously, Jack White's extended tour with what seemed a side project in the Raconteurs is spurring this kind of speculation. But, Jack himself has helped fuel the rumors.
Back in July, Jack reportedly said that if he were starting a band, his old pal Meg might not make the cut: "If I was making up a band, I wouldn't make up The White Stripes." At that same time, White was also quoted as saying his new band is more "easy going." That maybe a hint that those reports that Meg White was actually his ex-wife and not his sister as originally publicized are true.
Now, Jack adds futher mystery in a recent chat with NME, where he coyly ducks the question as to whether he'll continue on with the Raconteurs or put out another White Stripes record. White says: "We're all ready to make a lot of records, but we don't know what we're going to do first though."
If I could pair up with sexy Meg, I think the choice would be easy. But, from Jack's perspective touring with your purported ex-wife might not be all that much fun. I think Jack will do his best to keep both projects going. The White Stripes do have something special - at least on stage - and that's always hard to walk away from ... no matter what's happening off stage.
Nick Shacks Up With Vanessa
Things are getting ever more serious between Nick Lachey and his summer squeeze Vanessa Minnillo, just as reports of a relationship between his ex Jessica Simpson and singer-songwriter John Mayer heat up.
A TMZ spy who recently rode in an elevator with the pair at Minnillo's apartment building say they were "totally into each other," very affectionate with one another, and were oblivious to anyone around them, and Lachey has been spotted shacking up chez Minnillo regularly when he's in Manhattan.
Jessica's 'Public Affair' With John Mayer
Jessica Simpson's album "A Public Affair" isn't the only thing coming out today.
Us Weekly is reporting that she and Grammy winning singer/songwriter John Mayer are an item, but sources say Simpson wants to "keep it private." Um...sure!
In the past, rumors have swirled linking Jess to everyone from Johnny Knoxville to comedian Dane Cook to Maroon 5's Adam Levine.
If reports are true, this would be her first relationship since breaking up with ex-husband Nick Lachey.
Mayer previously dated Jennifer Love Hewitt.

Bruce and Patti Go Rumor-Squelching
UPDATE 6:08pm: Bruce Springsteen has posted a statement on his website, brucespringsteen.net: "I hesitate to use this website for anything personal believing it should remain a place where fans of my music can come free of the distractions that occasionally arise with the rest of my job. However, due to the unfounded and ugly rumors that have appeared in the papers over the last few days, I felt they shouldn't pass without comment. Patti and I have been together for 18 years- the best 18 years of my life. We have built a beautiful family we love and want to protect and our commitment to one another remains as strong as the day we were married."
Bruce Springsteen and Patti Scialfa threw some cold water on rumors that a split between the two of them was imminent with a little antique-shopping trip last Friday -- and even gave fellow patrons an impromptu concert.
TMZ spoke to Judy Barnaby, a manager at the Antique Center of Red Bank in Red Bank, NJ, about an hour from New York City, who told us that the couple showed up on Friday afternoon and perused the store's antiques for about an hour, holding hands and acting "not at all different" from their customary behavior.
Denise Richards' Bazaar Behavior
As everyone now knows, Denise Richards is in the midst of a messy divorce from notorious Hollywood bad boy Charlie Sheen and is dating Heather Locklear's estranged husband Richie Sambora.
In the September issue of Harper's Bazaar, Richards divulges some insight into the question everyone has been wondering: Why in the world would anyone marry Charlie Sheen?!
Richards reveals that despite knowing Sheen for two years "we didn't date long, and that was a big mistake." Denise admits she fell in love even though she "couldn't comprehend" his sordid past.
Unlike Sheen, Richards says "I've never done drugs, never been around a prostitute, never known any porn stars. I grew up in Illinois, not L.A. He told me that was in his past, and I believed him."
Despite being accused of stealing Locklear's, her former best friend's, husband, she says their friendship ended prior to hooking up with Sambora and was "not salvageable."
And even though Denise claims she wasn't looking to fall in love, she says "when Richie and I got together, I couldn't pass it up."
Now Denise is focused on raising her two daughters and raising awareness for kidney cancer, which her mother suffers from.
We imagine avoiding running into Locklear is also a priority.

Is Bruce Running Into Another Woman's Arms?
The New York Post reports that Bruce Springsteen's long time marriage to Patti Scialfa is in deep trouble.
The alleged problem is Bruce's blossoming friendship with a stunning 9/11 widow the Boss met when he organized the "America: A Tribute to Heroes" telethon. The two have been spotted several times at the Beacon Hill Beach Club and the Stone Pony, the Asbury Park watering hole made famous in "Glory Days."
The Post quotes several "friends" of Springsteen who can't seem to decide on whether the couple is on the rocks or not. One friend says "They're separated, but everyone has been sworn to secrecy," while another friend states "He's just a really big flirt. There's nothing going on. Bruce and Patti are very much partners. They go at it a lot and fight, but they also work at it a lot... Patti is a strong woman. They are not going anywhere." Confused yet? So are we.
A Springsteen representative declined comment.
Wilson Tightlipped About Hudson
With Kate Hudson absent from tonight's UK premiere of "You, Me and Dupree," co-stars Owen Wilson and Michael Douglas were bombarded with questions about the newly separated actress.
While speaking of a co-star's well-being would normally be tough as it is, Wilson had an even more daunting task of avoiding questions regarding a rumored affair he had with the blonde actress.
Owen didn't offer much to probing reporters saying, "I assume she's in California ... I think she's doing fine, yeah" before moving down the arrival line.
Meanwhile, Michael Douglas offered his sympathy for the actress saying, "Chris Robinson is a great guy and she is and I wish them well. They've got a young child and they'll do the best they can."
Weezer Staying Together?
We, like many outlets, reported the statements by Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo last month that seemed to indicate that Weezer was no more. At the time, Cuomo said:
"Really, for the moment, we are done. I'm not certain we'll make a record again, unless it becomes really obvious to me that we need one done."
Being an astute observer of musician behavior (note to certain regular commenters: I'm being sarcastic in saying that), I predicted that there was no way Weezer would not play together again. The band proved me correct. On their website, they posted the following missive:
"...A Public Service Announcement from the weez: We right here! (except for Pat who's on a family vacation right now) this PSA has been brought to you by the fine guacamole dip at Scott Shriner's house, co-sponsored by a ring of fine cheese, and a dish of fresh figs from the back yard. Now please, take those "weezer split?" headlines and place them firmly into the "Don't believe the hype" bin. And have yourself a fine afternoon now. "
Alrighty then. Just what is next for these guys is unclear, but it looks like retirement is not in the cards for the kings of geek rock. Of course, Weezer founder Cuomo has apparently gone without sex for three years so don't rule out not seeing new stuff from these guys until 2010!
Paul and Heather -- Too Close for Comfort
Sir Paul McCartney and Heather Mills avoided having a close encounter in London on Tuesday. The duo's near-miss would have been an uncomfortable situation, at the very least, especially considering the fact that Mills recently discovered quite publicly that Sir Paul had changed the locks at his London home.
The estranged couple, who are in the midst of a bitter divorce, wound up at Heathrow Airport at the same time to catch separate flights to the U.S. that were departing only a half-hour apart.
The former Beatle arrived at New York's JFK airport flanked by two heavily-armed security guards and two giant bodyguards.
Mills, on the other hand, found her way to Los Angeles, where she is rumored to be meeting with lawyers to file for a more profitable divorce settlement here in the US.
The former model was later spotted emerging from her estranged husband's LA home, before heading to Beverly Hills for a day of pampering, shopping and dining with friends.
Nicole & Brody: Round 2
Nicole Richie and Brody Jenner were spotted together again last night for a dinner at Il Sole.
While Brody, who just recently split with "Laguna Beach" babe Kristin Cavallari, told photographers yesterday that the two were "just friends," their continued outings together suggest something more.
Richie also just had a break up from ex-fiancé DJ AM, so she and Jenner could definitely be labeled as "on the rebound." Take a look for yourselves and decide if they're a couple or not.
