Big Boi is crediting a carpenter for saving his marriage ... but not just any carpenter.

Our photog got Big Boi at LAX and congratulated him on reuniting with his wife, Sherlita. The two filed for divorce last year ... but withdrew their legal docs earlier this month.

SHOTS FIRED AT CHAD OCHOCINCO ... and the woman pulling the trigger is his ex-wife Evelyn Lozada!!!

The "Basketball Wives" star -- who happens to be engaged to L.A. Dodgers superstar Carl Crawford -- was hangin' at GNC at the Beverly Center ... when we asked to see the massive 14.5 carat diamond ring he gave her back in December.

That's when Evelyn flashed the ring ... and a little bit of sass ... taking aim at the puny 10 carat rock Chad gave her back in 2010.

Jill Whelan -- who famously played Capt. Stubing's daughter Vicki on "The Love Boat" and Lisa (the sick girl) in "Airplane!" -- is getting divorced.

Jill filed legal docs -- obtained by TMZ -- citing irreconcilable differences. Jill -- now 47 -- and her husband, John Chaykowsky have an 8-year-old son. She wants full legal and physical custody.

Jill -- who has worked sporadically since her big roles -- also wants spousal support.

The couple married a decade ago.

BTW ... "Airplane!" -- best move ever.

Columbus Short is learning a lot about the legal system these days ... today's lesson -- you don't show up in family court and your wife will take you to the cleaners.

The former "Scandal" star was just ordered to fork over a whopping $17,005 a month in spousal support to estranged wife Tanee Short. And if that's not enough, he also has to pay $4,542 a month in child support.

But wait ... there's more. Columbus got tagged for $25,000 to cover Tanee's legal bills.

Short's side of the counsel table was empty. No Short, no lawyer.

Short hasn't even responded to Tanee's divorce petition.

Melanie Griffith has a problem ... she's divorcing the husband whose name is emblazoned on her arm and she wants it removed ... which takes time, so Melanie has now figured out a shortcut.

Antonio Banderas' soon-to-be ex-wife is sitting for photos right now in NYC. She's doing a magazine spread showcasing her newly decorated Central Park West apartment.

Sources connected with the shoot tell TMZ ... Melanie has laid down the law -- Antonio MUST be Photoshopped out.

Our sources say Melanie -- who used makeup to cover the tattoo last week -- plans on having it lasered off, but has yet to find the time.

Andre 3000 is not the only person with whom Big Boi has reunited ... we've learned he and his estranged wife have dropped their divorce ... shocking because it was super contentious.

As TMZ first reported ... Big Boi's wife, Sherlita Patton, filed divorce docs last October after 11 years of marriage. She demanded support and full custody. Big Boi responded that she wasn't getting anything without a fight.

But in quiet fashion ... the two filed docs earlier this month asking the judge to 86 the divorce ... and the judge obliged.

The move is not completely out of left field -- Big Boi posted a photo of Patton on Mother's Day with the caption, "Happy Mother's Day to my queen."

Zoe just signed on as the new star of "NCIS: New Orleans." According to legal docs -- obtained by TMZ -- she'll be raking in $45K an episode.

Zoe's hubby, J.P. Gillain -- a struggling actor -- just filed for divorce, and she doesn't think it's coincidental. J.P. is asking for joint custody, and she suggests a motivating factor is that he wants child support.

Zoe is also incredulous ... because she goes on and on in the docs saying J.P. has never been a hands-on dad, to the point where he doesn't know how to put their 18-month-old Sebastian to sleep.

Zoe used to be rolling in dough, starring in "JAG" for years. But when the show went off the air she couldn't get an acting job -- she was a life coach and J.P. waited tables.

Zoe wants to move to New Orleans to shoot the show, and she's now asking the judge for an emergency order giving her temporary full custody, but J.P. strongly objects.

Sara Evans' ex-husband has become a country music cliche ... fighting with his ex, dodging an arrest warrant, and so deep in debt his main assets are a couple dozen chickens.

Craig L. Schelske filed docs in his bankruptcy case, listing a mountain of debt and a sorry, short list of assets. For starters he owes Evans $333K. Lots of other debts as well.

Now the assets ... 25 chickens (valued at zero) and 2 bags of chicken feed. And then there's 60 DVDs, 3 silver coins and 40 books, all worth a grand total of $100. And of course there's a 12-gauge shotgun, a rifle and a hand gun.

He also lists 4 vacuum cleaners and a card table. As for cars -- he has a Ford F-250, a Chevy pickup, a Chevy Tahoe and a Honda 4-wheeler.

As for the warrant -- it seems Craig stopped paying Sara child-related expenses, so the judge slapped him with a contempt citation and made him a wanted man.

You may remember ... Evans and Schelske went through a brutal and ugly split ... he claimed she exposed their kids to drugs and alcohol on her tours ... she claimed he was banging the nanny and was obsessed with porn.

Sum 41 singer Deryck Lavigne Whibley has officially erased Avril Lavigne from his life, and ... more importantly, his signature -- a judge just granted his name change.

The rocker’s request to drop Avril's name was stamped on Thursday. As we first revealed, Whibley had secretly taken her name during their 2006 marriage ... to become Deryck Jason Lavigne Whibley. Deryck's name change was filed a few months after Lavigne married Nickelback frontman Chad Kroger ... which is probably not a coincidence. The fact Deryck has a new fiancée probably influenced the change too.

Melanie Griffith thinks she's a better parent than Antonio Banderas -- a dog parent, that is -- and she's dead set on getting custody of their three dogs in the divorce ... TMZ has learned.

As TMZ first reported, Griffith filed for divorce on June 6 after 18 years of marriage to Banderas.

Child custody won't be an issue -- their daughter turns 18 in September -- but sources close to Griffith tell TMZ she is angling for custody of their three dogs. The former couple has one terrier mix and two shepherd lab mixes they adopted last February.

Our sources say Melanie is the better dog owner between herself and Antonio ... and the pooches mean the world to her.

Alec Baldwin wanted to play Benjamin Franklin in a new movie ... and we didn't find out from an agent, a publicist or a movie studio ... we found out from the divorce docs of a TV soap star.

"The Bold and the Beautiful" star Katherine Kelly Lang finalized her divorce this week from hubby Alex D'Andrea ... and in the docs, she gives up any claim to movie projects D'Andrea was involved with ... including the Franklin flick.

In the section marked Community Property Awarded Transferred to Respondent (Lang's ex), it mentions Walter Isaacson's book about Ben ... which had been optioned by D'Andrea, Alec and William Baldwin for a TV mini-series.

According to the docs, the three pitched the idea as a co-production with Sony, but it never found a home. Their option ran out and the rights reverted back to Isaacson because "Sony could not find a network to co-finance and/or broadcast the project."

Sherri Shepherd can keep talking for a living about anything she wants ... except the identity and location of the woman who is carrying her baby ... so a judge ordered today.

Shepherd was a no-show in court today, but her estranged husband Lamar Sally was there to argue that their entire divorce should be sealed. The judge did not rule on the case as a whole, but did order both sides to stop talking about their surrogate -- either her identity or location.

As we first reported ... Lamar is concerned a publicity crush at the hospital will endanger the baby.

Nonetheless, he has revealed the due date is July 28.
