Logan Paul Sparred 4 Gronk Bros While Training for Floyd ... 'They're Massive'
-
Exclusive
- 3.8K shares
Logan Paul took on FOUR members of the Gronkowski family while training for his upcoming match against Floyd Mayweather ... and claims he handled all of 'em!
But, there's no beef -- it's all love -- and Logan and Rob Gronkowski spelled out the whole situation to TMZ Sports.
Rob didn't actually fight because of that whole football thing he's got going ... which probably makes Tom Brady and the Bucs happy.
But, all 4 of his brothers -- Glenn, Dan, Chris and Gordie -- laced up the gloves to go a few rounds with Paul back in April ... and it seems Rob was genuinely impressed!
"I was the official referee," Rob tells us ... "and good thing I was the official referee. My referring skills were pretty legit, 12 out of 10!"
The Gronks were trained up by two legendary fighters -- Winky Wright and Antonio Tarver ... and Logan says his main focus point was avoiding getting rocked!
"They're massive," Logan tells us ... "I'm f**king 6'2", 200 pounds and I go in there and all of Rob's brothers are towering over me! They're all taller than me vertically, they're all wider than me horizontally. These are huge humans! "
"Honestly, I walked in and I was like. 'Alright, I'm pretty sure I'm gonna kick their ass but I cannot get hit obviously.' They don't know how to box but they got some power and if they hit me, that could be it, man!"
Logan says Rob's youngest bro, Glenn -- who played fullback in the NFL -- has some legit skills and even connected with a quick jab ... but ultimately, Paul proved to be the superior fighter.
Logan tells us he plans to release all of the sparring footage later this week.
Again, the session was super friendly -- and the guys are all joking about it now ... but Logan says he thinks Rob could have a real future in fighting if he commits to it after his NFL career wraps up.
"Anyone with Rob's height and size and power ... if he just dedicated himself to it then yeah!"
"[Rob] pulled me off his brothers once or twice, and I was literally like 'Holy f**k, this guy is strong, dude! I was like bro, he tossed me! I felt powerless!"

UFC's Michael Chandler Rooting for Conor McGregor Resurgence ... Hopes to Fight Him
-
Exclusive
Michael Chandler REALLY hopes Conor McGregor can return to his old, dominant self ... not just because he loves a comeback story, but also he knows it would be HUGE for his bank account.
Chandler is currently the #4 ranked UFC lightweight -- and he's fighting #3 ranked Charles Oliveira Saturday night at UFC 262.
If he wins that fight, Chandler will likely get the winner of Dustin Poirier vs. Conor McGregor ... and he's fired up about the whole situation.
"They’re #1 & #1A in my book," Chandler says ... "I’ll be watching, keenly, to see who my next opponent is."
Chandler says he has a ton of respect for Poirier but admits, "I want to see Conor come back, man. There’s nothing better than when a guy as big as Conor McGregor, falls short, loses and is able to pull himself back and win. It’s a huge story, it’s a huge storyline."
Of course, Conor was one of the most feared fighters in the UFC around 2015, 2016 ... but lost some of his momentum after taking L's to Floyd Mayweather in 2017 and Khabib in 2018.
McGregor was also knocked out by Dustin Poirier in January 2021 -- leaving some to wonder if Conor's best days are behind him.
But, Chandler says a McGregor victory over Poirier would be huge for the sport -- and could also set up a very lucrative fight for himself.
"Obviously, the athlete in me wants to fight the winner of [Poirier vs. McGregor], the businessman in me wants to fight Conor of course, but all of it hinges upon me having a phenomenal performance on May 15."
As for his current opponent, Charles Oliveira, Chandler knows how dangerous he is.
"Charles Olivera has cut his teeth in this UFC lightweight division over the last couple of years. 8-0 in his last 8 fights. [He has the] most submission wins in UFC history," Chandler says ... "He’s dangerous every single place."
"But then you also got the outsider, the dark horse, the newcomer in myself. I’m going to be carrying that American Flag, I come to fight, I’m going to keep you on the edge of your seat. You don’t know what’s going to happen whenever I’m inside that Octagon. I’ve never been in a boring fight win, lose or draw. So UFC 262 will be top-notch entertainment for MMA fans. For everybody who’s going to be there, I can’t wait to feel your energy and hear your roars, and for everybody who’s watching out there who buys the PPV, I can’t wait to share this moment with you guys because we’re going to make history on May 15."

UFC's Giga Chikadze Max Holloway Wouldn't Last 2 Rds ... I'm UFC's Best Striker!!
-
Exclusive

“I guarantee you I’m the best striker [in the UFC] and a much better striker than Max Holloway. I just need my chance to prove it."
That's UFC rising star Giga Chikadze officially throwing down the gauntlet ... challenging the featherweight G.O.A.T. to a scrap when talking to TMZ Sports.
Chikadze's stock is soaring after the 32-year-old put Cub Swanson away with a BRUTAL liver kick only 63 seconds into their co-main event fight last weekend.
🚨 GIGA KICK ALERT 🚨@giga_chikadze sent Cub Swanson to the canvas 😤 #UFCVegas25 pic.twitter.com/TzNPMW9TFY
— ESPN MMA (@espnmma) May 2, 2021 @espnmma
Giga -- 13-2 (8 KO's) -- is now the #10 ranked featherweight ... so we asked him to name his dream fight.
“For sure Max Holloway.”
Why Blessed? He's the definition of a problem inside the Octagon.
"His fight against Calvin Kattar, I watched that fight and it was probably one of the best performances I’ve seen in a featherweight division," Giga says.
"Every time he was doing some crazy boxing combo I said, 'Man, I wanna fight him!'"
Of course, Holloway didn't just dominate Kattar (he landed a record 445 significant strikes) ... he's beaten Jose Aldo (twice), Brian Ortega, Frankie Edgar, Anthony Pettis and Jeremy Stephens -- to name a few.
Despite his ridiculous resume, Chikadze isn't afraid to say he has better hands (and legs) than the former champion ... and a fight with Max would be over inside 10 minutes.
“It doesn’t matter if it's gonna be a 3-round fight, 5-round fight ... I only give [Holloway] 2 [rounds]. That’s the max.”

Kayla Harrison I’ll Be Greatest Female MMA Fighter Of All-Time ... Down To Fight Amanda Nunes
-
Exclusive
"9 fights into my career, I believe that I'm going to be the greatest."
That's 30-year-old MMA star Kayla Harrison predicting that she -- NOT Amanda Nunes, Cris Cyborg or anyone else -- will go down as the best mixed martial arts fighter ever.
TMZ Sports talked to Harrison -- a 2x PFL tourney winner who's undefeated in the cage -- after DOMINATING Mariana Morais at PFL 3 ... where she won by TKO in only 83 seconds.
After the fight, Harrison sent a message to the MMA world ... saying, "If anyone thinks they can step to me they can come get in the cage. From now on, I'm the baddest woman, in this room and in any room."

Kayla Harrison. #2021PFL3 pic.twitter.com/ZZzWjGjHEH
Of course, only 1 person can be the baddest ... and if it's Kayla, that means it's not the current (widely accepted) G.W.O.A.T., Nunes -- the UFC's bantamweight and featherweight champ.
But, was Harrison -- who is also a 2x Olympic gold medalist -- calling out Nunes?! Kayla says definitely not.
"It's not personal. It's not directed at Amanda [Nunes]. It's not directed at Claressa [Shields]. It's not directed at Cyborg. This is about me and my belief in myself."
FYI, Harrison and Nunes are super cool with each other ... and even train at the same gym -- American Top Team -- in Florida.
Why'd Kayla make the bold proclamation ... well, she says she got tired of being politically correct.
"I think I just realized that it’s time to stop being this golden girl or like this miss congeniality. I truly believe that what I said I feel is the truth. So why wouldn’t I say it."
There's more -- after her fight, Harrison took a jab at "YouTuber idiots" who think they can fight ... so we asked the combat sports star about Jake Paul.
Kayla says she'd never actually fight JP (not worth her time) ... but added, “Big trees fall hard. I have no problem taking [Jake Paul] down and beating the crap out of him.”

Canelo Alvarez and Billy Joe Saunders are fighting in front of a MASSIVE crowd Saturday night, but promoter Eddie Hearn says you should NOT worry about Covid ... 'cause there are precautions in place to keep fans safe.
The fight's going down May 8 at AT&T Stadium in Texas -- where there are no restrictions -- and will likely be the most attended event in America since the pandemic struck early last year.
"We're gonna be just under 70,000. So it's gonna be incredible," Hearn says ... "I think I remember seeing Canelo box Liam Smith and it was about 40,000 people there and the atmosphere was just absolutely insane. This is gonna be a very, very special atmosphere."
Some people have said packing the building with fans is a bad idea ... so we asked Eddie to address the situation.
"We're not the first in terms of big numbers returning to Texas. All sports now have been bringing crowds back. You've seen no spikes because of that," Hearn says.
"There will be masks worn, mandatory, on Saturday night. I've noticed, to be honest with you, as a Brit coming into states that have opened up like Texas and Florida, people aren't going out there care-free and just ignoring rules."
"People are actually being sensible and they will be Saturday night, and everyone will have a safe night."
FYI, AT&T Stadium AKA Jerry World is huge ... it fits about 80k with room for over 100k with standing room.

2:50 PM PT -- Jake Paul says he WAS punched in the face -- and claims it was one of Floyd's bodyguards who threw the punch.
"1 of Floyd’s 30 bodyguards got a clean shot on me in the eye," Jake said after the incident ... "RESPECT!!"
He added, "Honestly have had 3 easy fights as a pro so been itching for some real action."
Jake also said his plan from the beginning of the media event was to steal Floyd's hat -- so in his mind, it's mission accomplished.
1:33 PM PT -- Whoa!!!! Things just got VERY physical between Floyd Mayweather and Jake Paul during a confrontation AFTER the face-off between Floyd and Logan.
Jake got in Floyd's face while Floyd was doing an interview and snatched the baseball cap off of Floyd's head.
5/6/21
Things went berserk from there -- and it appeared as though punches were thrown. Hard to see who threw the shots and if anything landed. You could see Jake's shirt was ripped and stretched out after the melee.
Mayweather was PISSED -- and raged after the two sides were separated, unlike anything we've ever seen from him before.
At one point Floyd shouted, "I'll kill you mother****er."
While Floyd and Jake were going at it, Logan was forcefully restrained by people who realized they need to keep these dudes healthy in order to cash in on June 6.
Story developing ...
1:15 PM PT -- Floyd just told Logan Paul he'll fight both Logan AND Jake Paul on the same night ... June 6.
He also vowed to knock out Logan in the fight -- calling the Pauls "two fake fighters."
Logan responded, "The only thing that's fake on this stage is Floyd's f**king hairline."
Logan brought up Floyd's domestic violence conviction in an effort to rip on Mayweather. Floyd said Logan is entitled to his opinion on the matter but quickly changed the subject.
The Paul bros proceeded to mock Floyd's age -- Floyd told them he's gonna treat them like one of his grandkids and whoop their asses.
12:34 PM PT -- Surprise, surprise -- the event is running behind schedule ... but don't worry, we're told it's still set to go down shortly.
So, grab a snack and stretch your legs, but be sure to check back in when things kick off in a matter of minutes.
Logan arrived to Hard Rock Stadium in Miami like a badass ... showing up in a chopper. Of course, his lil' bro, Jake, was there to hype him up!!
This should be good ...
Logan Paul and Floyd Mayweather are going to stand face-to-face in Miami on Thursday in an event to promote their upcoming boxing match ... and you KNOW it's gonna be a spectacle.
It's all going down at 12 PM PT -- and we'll live stream the whole thing here.
Logan has been extremely confident he'll be able to bang with one of the greatest pugilists of all time. Expect to hear a lot from him.
Floyd -- who's 50-0 as a pro fighter -- is also a master trash talker who famously verbally sparred with Conor McGregor for months leading up to their big fight in 2017.
So, when Floyd and Logan -- two masters of promotion -- get together, you know it's gonna get crazy.
The two are set to throw down at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami on June 6. Ex-NFL star Chad Ochocinco has agreed to fight on the undercard, though his opponent has not been confirmed yet.
Chad is also expected to be at the media event on Thursday -- so plan to hear from him as well.
Logan is 0-1 as a pro boxer -- losing his first sanctioned bout to YouTube star KSI in a controversial decision.
His younger brother, Jake Paul, on the other hand, is 3-0 as a pro ... coming off an impressive knockout victory over UFC fighter Ben Askren.

If Quavo and Saweetie weren't broken up, they might be celebrating together -- neither of them will face criminal charges for their elevator altercation ... TMZ has learned.
Law enforcement sources tell us ... the case was referred to the L.A. City Attorney's Office, which declined to file charges. We're told, based on the evidence -- surveillance video of the then-couple in a physical confrontation -- there was no likelihood of a conviction for either party.
Remember, we'd been told the cops wanted to talk to both Saweetie and Quavo to get more info on what went down before and after the video, but we now know that never happened.
The exes were clearly looking to put the situation behind them, and, at least publicly, it didn't seem like either was holding a grudge over the fight. Quavo said, "We had an unfortunate situation almost a year ago that we both learned and moved on from. I haven’t physically abused Saweetie and have real gratitude for what we did share overall."
Saweetie said something to the same effect ... while also indicating this was far from the last straw in their relationship, noting there were other "hurdles" before they split.
With the case behind them, they can officially close the book on their relationship ... for good.

The bartender claims Songz ignored his warning that he wasn't allowed on the bar ... so he put his hand on Songz' back to get his attention, and tell him to get down.
That's when Songz allegedly turned around and struck the bartender in the head with a closed fist, looked at the other bartenders blankly, then continued watching the show ... according to the docs.

4:09 PM PT -- The New York Rangers are FURIOUS with the NHL for its handling of the incident ... saying Wilson deserves to be suspended indefinitely for the "horrifying act of violence" ... and calling out the league's head of player safety in the process.
"Wilson is a repeat offender with a long history of these type of acts and we find it shocking that the NHL and their Department of Player Safety failed to take the appropriate action and suspend him indefinitely," the team said in a statement Tuesday.
"Wilson's dangerous and reckless actions caused an injury to Artemi Panarin that will prevent him from playing again this season."
"We view this as a dereliction of duty by NHL Head of Player Safety, George Parros, and believe he is unfit to continue in his current role."
Capitals winger Tom Wilson body slammed Artemi Panarin in the middle of their game on Monday ... rag-dolling the Rangers star on the ice -- and now, EVERYONE's pissed over it.
The wild scene all went down in Madison Square Garden ... wherein the 2nd period of the Washington vs. New York tilt, all hell broke loose near the Capitals' crease.
As a pile built up around the goal mount, 27-year-old Wilson jumped on Rangers star Pavel Buchnevich ... and then slid in a dirty punch that pissed off NY players.
As the Rangers rushed to Pavel's defense ... Wilson fought back hard -- and went to work on throwing Panarin all over the ice.
You can see in footage of the melee, Wilson body slammed the Rangers' 29-year-old goal scorer not once, but TWICE ... and it was violent.
Fortunately, it seems Panarin escaped the fracas without serious injury ... but the NHL world was sent into a frenzy over Wilson's actions regardless.
Despite Wilson receiving 10-minute misconduct ... many on social media called for more severe punishments from the league -- with Rangers coach David Quinn ripping the guy for his actions after the game.
"We all saw it. There's lines that can't be crossed...one of the star players in this league now who could have been seriously seriously hurt in that incident" - David Quinn on the Tom Wilson incident with Artemi Panarin and Pavel Buchnevich pic.twitter.com/jDxrvNpyQ3
— Rangers Videos (@SNYRangers) May 4, 2021 @SNYRangers
"We all saw it," Quinn said. "There are lines that can't be crossed in this game."
He added, "You got one of the star players in this league now that could have gotten seriously, seriously hurt in that incident ... You all saw what happened, and it happens time and time again with him. Totally unnecessary."
Wilson ended up with the last laugh ... the Caps player not only flexed on the Rangers from the penalty box -- but he helped Washington win the game, 6-3, scoring an empty-net goal late in the contest.

KISS THE BABY!!
Ex-NFL superstar Chad Ochocinco has signed a deal to fight in an exhibition boxing match on the Floyd Mayweather vs. Logan Paul undercard -- the very first fight of his career.
In other words, Chad is making his boxing debut at 43 YEARS OLD!
The former Cincinnati Bengals WR has been training his ass off in boxing gyms for years -- but never really expressed serious interest in taking a fight.
But, Chad says he was approached by Mayweather Promotions CEO Leonard Ellerbe recently ... and offered a spot on the undercard for the big June 6 event at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.
Chad says he immediately asked his family for their thoughts -- and when they gave their blessing, Ochocinco told Ellerbe he would do it!
Ochocinco -- formally known as Chad Johnson -- broke the news on the "I AM ATHLETE" podcast.
So far, no opponent has been locked in -- but we're hearing promoters are looking to match Chad up against another former non-boxing athlete.
The obvious choice would be ex-NFL wideout Brandon Marshall, who's been putting in serious work in the boxing gym for years ... and has openly talked about wanting a big-time fight.
In fact, Brandon spent some time training with Evander Holyfield who compared Marshall to heavyweight knockout artist Deontay Wilder.
As for Chad, he's already got a new nickname -- calling himself, "Sweet Feet Johnson!"

Jake Paul vs. Kamaru Usman Would Be Top 3 Best Selling Fight Ever Says Manager Ali Abdelaziz

The highest selling combat sports events ever by (reported) pay-per-view buys ... Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao (4.6 million), Floyd vs. Conor McGregor (4.1 million) AND ... Jake Paul vs. Kamaru Usman?!
That's what "The Nigerian Nightmares" manager, Ali Abdelaziz, believes will happen IF a fight between his client and YouTuber turned boxing star Jake Paul can be hashed out ... as long as UFC honcho and master promoter, Dana White is involved.
"Dana White has to have the microphone, he has to be the promoter," Ali says, later continuing ... "[Dana's] gonna get the UFC monster machine behind it and it's gonna sell I think, this fight did 3, 4 million Pay-Per-View buys, right, but on UFC's platform."
Of course, Jake -- 3-0 in the ring -- and the UFC welterweight champ went back-and-forth with the trash talk earlier this week ... with both guys saying they want to fight.
To put the PPV #'s into perspective, Paul vs. Ben Askren reportedly sold 1.5 million PPV's (a total some have questioned) at $50 a pop. But if the figures are accurate ... just do the math.
So sure, Jake would get the bag ... but Ali says the fight would be more a slaughtering than a boxing match.
So let’s get this straight:
— Jake Paul (@jakepaul) April 28, 2021 @jakepaul
1. Usman calls me out to fight on TMZ sports interview
2. I quickly accept the challenge to fight and will give him biggest pay day of career ($10m+)
3. Usman then backs out of fight because I’m “a Disney kid”
4. Usman visits Disney world pic.twitter.com/CkUBZ5aVYM
"Listen to me, I don't think Jake Paul has enough medical insurance, coverage, to even talk, not even to fight Kamaru Usman," Ali says.
"To fight Kamaru, he'll need to be in bed or hospital for long time because listen, he's a internet kid, he's a YouTuber. I'm talking about pound for pound greatest fighter right now, Kamaru Usman."

Wrestling legends Shawn Michaels and Kevin Nash (Diesel) were WWF Tag Team champs in the mid-'90s ... but initially got linked up together 'cause Nash's WCW character reminded the "Heartbreak Kid" of ... Andrew Dice Clay!!
Yes, Michaels was a HUGE fan of the "Diceman" ... and that's why he tells TMZ Sports that's what instantly attracted him to Nash's "Vinnie Vegas" character -- and ultimately gave birth to "Two Dudes with Attitudes."
"I had seen him on WCW as Vinnie Vegas. I can remember at that time coming off believing that Andrew Dice Clay was the funniest, and he sorta had an aspect of that in Vinnie Vegas," Michaels' says.
"Seeing it, and then, of course, quite some time later talking to Rick Steiner about it, and him mentioning [Kevin] and wanting to have a bodyguard for me."
Shawn was down, so Nash's "Diesel" character became his bodyguard. Together, they were 2x WWF Tag Team champions ... in addition to having a ton of success individually.
Michaels was a 2x Intercontinental champ ... while Diesel was Heavyweight champ and Intercontinental champ.
"There certainly were times we brought out the best in one another from an in the ring standpoint, and taking ourselves to a new level," Shawn says ... "Maybe less so personally. We were kinda troublemakers. But, to look back on it now, I'm very fond."
It's been decades since the men teamed up in the squared circle ... but the duo will be featured in an upcoming doc called "WWE Untold: Dudes With Attitudes" -- airing May 2 on Peacock.
Looking for even more of the "Heartbreak Kid" ... there's an A&E doc called "Biography: Shawn Michaels" airing May 16.

Andy Ruiz Opens Up On Depression After Joshua Loss 'I Got On My Knees & Started Praying'
-
Exclusive
"I needed to make a change because I was tired of the way I was living."
That's 31-year-old former heavyweight champion Andy Ruiz opening up about depression that literally brought him to his knees ... after losing his belts to Anthony Joshua.
TMZ Sports talked to Ruiz days before he makes his return to the squared circle on May 1 ... where "The Destroyer" will take on Chris Arreola.
When Ruiz starts letting his hands fly ... he'll look a little bit different than the last time we saw him in the ring with Joshua -- 'cause the 6'2" boxing star has lost nearly 60 pounds!!
"I think the weight loss is gonna be good and gonna be an advantage for me," Ruiz tells us.
"I think I'm gonna be a little faster, I'm gonna be able to slip more punches, bob and weave and things that we've been practicing in the gym and you know, I'm still not where I wanna be at but I'm still way better than I was before."
Of course, Ruiz SHOCKED the world and KO'd AJ in June 2019 ... one of the biggest upsets in heavyweight boxing history.
But, the December 2019 rematch didn't go nearly as well for Ruiz ... who stepped into the ring weighing 284 pounds, and looking out of shape in a unanimous decision loss.
After the fight, Andy says he was depressed and knew he had to change his life ... and that started with the drastic weight loss.
"There was just this one day that I was just depressed with myself and I was weighting 310 lbs. I thought losing weight would be the big issue and learning discipline, because I lacked discipline in my whole professional career," Ruiz says.
Andy continued ... "Like I said, I was depressed, I had got on my knees, I started praying and started telling God for a new change, a new mentality, and the next day I woke up and I woke up like a brand new man and that's when I messaged Canelo and told him if he could open the doors for me, and here we are now."
If the new, improved Ruiz beats Arreola (and he's a massive favorite) ... Andy could potentially face Deontay Wilder, Tyson Fury, Dillian Whyte or even Joshua for a third time.
All he's gotta do is win.

Wonderboy continued ... "He’s not known for his kicking, he’s known for his striking, his wrestling, so that’s the thing that makes this not very worrisome.
