Scooter Braun I'm So Over 'Idol'

Published | Updated

Scooter Braun is like several million other TV viewers -- he's over "American Idol."

We've learned Justin Bieber's manager will not join the show as a judge, and the reason is simple.

A source very close to Scooter puts it this way: "The only reason to do it at this point is vanity and he doesn't do things for vanity. Without the right to manage the acts, it makes no business sense for him and ultimately he's a business guy."

Jennifer Lopez and several producers made a play for Scooter, but we're told the stumbling block has been that he wants his hooks in the careers of the contestants and "A.I." can't give him that because of Simon Fuller's deal -- that's his domain.

So Scooter moves on. We've also learned he thinks "A.I." is crazy not to sign Dr. Luke.

Charlie Sheen Halfway to $150 Mil Payday

Published | Updated

Charlie Sheen has officially made it halfway to the biggest payday of his life ... $150 million from "Anger Management" ... and no one really thought he'd make it this far.

Charlie just wrapped his 50th episode of the show ... a milestone in the broadcast world ... because once "Anger Management" hits 100 episodes, it's eligible for syndication.

Syndication -- where a show is packaged and sold off to TV stations around the world -- is where the big bucks are ... and we're told Charlie stands to earn at LEAST $150 million if a syndication deal goes through. It took Charlie nearly 3 times as long to earn the equivalent sum -- $150 mil -- for "Two and a Half Men."

Here's the rub. The 100th episode of "Anger Management" is set to film in October, 2014. That gives Charlie well over a year to do that thing he does ... which can sometimes derail a show. But, so far, so good.

Paris Hilton SIGNS HUGE DJ CONTRACT

Published | Updated

Paris Hilton's first major stint as an international club DJ was a huge success -- in fact, the legendary nightclub where Paris spent the past couple of months has already signed P for 2014, TMZ has learned.

Hilton has been a MAJOR draw this summer at Amnesia nightclub in Ibiza, Spain ... where she played to packed crowds on a weekly basis at the club's famous "Foam & Diamonds" parties.

We spoke to the owner of the club who admits he was "nervous" when he first signed Hilton earlier this year -- but his fears were alleviated quickly when she stepped in to the booth ... and the crowds went insane.

"The number of people attending kept on growing and the positive word of mouth in Ibiza was just phenomenal," the owner tells us.

Paris flew back to L.A. on Thursday, bragging that she "killed it" -- and said her Ibiza success is already translating into tons of offers.

It's unclear how much cash Paris will rake in for the 2014 gig -- but we're told it's not really about the money, Paris just wants to prove she can hang with the big boys.

Mel Gibson Mexican Dinner Date with World's Richest Spawn

Published | Updated

Mel Gibson went to dinner with the son of the RICHEST MAN IN THE WORLD last night ... in Mexico ... and no one was abducted. Hooray!

Gibson's dinner date was Carlos Slim Domit, eldest son of Carlos Slim Helu ... whose reported net worth is $73 BILLION. (Bill Gates is a close second with $67 billion).

Mel and Carlos Jr. were photographed on their way out of a fancy restaurant called Casa Anis in an upscale neighborhood of Mexico City called Polanco.

It's unclear how they know each other or what they talked about at dinner -- but we hear the restaurant has great crab cakes. So, there's that ...

Scottie Pippen Off The Hook for Malibu Sushi Beatdown

Published | Updated

Chalk up ANOTHER victory for Scottie Pippen ... TMZ has learned the retired NBA superstar will NOT be prosecuted for kicking a guy's ass outside of a Malibu sushi joint back in June.

The L.A. County D.A. determined there was simply not enough evidence to prove Scottie did anything wrong during a confrontation with 49-year-old Camran Shafighi outside of Nobu on June 23.

According to official documents, obtained by TMZ, Pippen -- who's now represented by mega-attorney Mark Geragos -- admitted pushing and spitting at Shafighi but officials determined it was impossible to tell if Pippen was the aggressor or if he was acting in self-defense.

Plus, officials concluded the victim was FAKING multiple injuries -- and even faked seizures -- in an effort to make Pippen look like the bad guy.

According to the document, doctors believe Shafighi's injuries were minor at best and included a cut to his lip and a bruised chin.

TMZ broke the story ... the two scuffled in the parking lot of the restaurant after Scottie refused to pose for a SECOND picture with Shafighi.

Officials claim Shafighi was extremely intoxicated at the time of the confrontation (.18 blood alcohol level) ... and also tested positive for opiates.

Shafighi can still go after Pippen in civil court -- he's already filed a $4 million suit -- but this is a pretty big blow to his case.

Teresa & Joe Giudice Clash with Cops Over Five Whole Bucks

Published | Updated

Five stinkin' dollars ... that's what started a massive argument this weekend between several police officers and "Real Housewives" stars Teresa and Joe Giudice -- all because the couple didn't want to pay a tiny beach entrance fee, sources tell TMZ.

Here's the back story -- the Giudices were kickin' it on Ship Bottom beach on Long Beach Island, NJ Saturday afternoon (with roughly 30 friends and family members) when they were approached by a teen girl beach worker.

Sources on the scene tell us, the employee asked to see the Giudices' "beach badges" -- basically $5 admission tickets required to chill in the sand -- and the family flipped, refusing to "pay to go to the beach."

We're told one family member even yelled at the girl, saying, "F*** you, f*** this we are not paying for the f***ing beach. This is a joke!" Remember: 5 dollars per person.

We're told the girl started crying, and when beach PD responded ... the Giudices continued to kick up a stink, but eventually coughed up chump change.

Of course, Teresa and Joe are facing massive money fraud charges, but still -- 2 TV stars oughta cough up 5 dollars without a fight.

He originally faced up to two years in the slammer for the crime -- but was ultimately sentenced to just 4 months and a $15,000 fine, plus one-year supervised release.

Jay Z's Rocawear Sued Accused of T-Shirt Jacking

Published | Updated

Jay Z and Rocawear have no business plastering the phrase "Hood Love" all over t-shirts ... so says the pissed off company that owns the phrase and is now suing the pants off Jigga's clothing label.

HoodLove, LLC -- a for-profit company dedicated to improving poverty stricken communities -- filed the lawsuit against ROC Apparel Group earlier this month ... over one specific shirt in the Rocawear line, which reads HoodLove in giant letters.

HoodLove says it's owned the trademark since 2006 -- and claims Jay's company came along and started making a buck ... confusing the public, and trading off their good name.

It's not clear how much cash Rocawear's made off the shirts, but HoodLove is suing for the profits ... and also wants the apparel yanked from stores.

Drake Sued By Stylist Over Insane Shopping Bills Rapper Owes Me $76,000

Published | Updated

Drake spends over $30,000 per month on expensive stylists -- whom he also flies around the country -- plus thousands upon thousands more on clothing and jewelry ... and now the mounting bills are biting him in the ass.

A stylist formerly employed by the rapper has filed a lawsuit against Drake, claiming Drake owes him $76,490 as of December 2012 ... including consulting services, hotel bills, plane tickets, and endless shopping expenses.

The stylist Michael Raphael says Drake hired him in August 2012 for consulting services at a monthly rate of $39,583 -- services that include styling, clothing and graphic design for Drake's company OVO, brand direction, photography, etc.

According to the lawsuit, the wages do NOT cover the exorbitant expenses Raphael also incurred on Drake's behalf -- dropping stacks at stores like Nike, Diesel, American Rag, and countless boutiques ... plus insane travel expenses (SLS hotel, anyone?).

Raphael even includes a bunch of receipts to show just how much he spent -- one Nike receipt was for $1,162, one for Diesel was $1,483, $714 at American Rag, and that's just the tip of the iceberg.

Raphael claims Drake faithfully paid his bills from August to November last year, but suddenly stopped paying in December -- a month where Raphael racked up nearly $40,000 in shopping and other expenses on top of his monthly salary ... for a total of $76,490.

Raphael is now suing Drake for the full amount.

We reached out to Drake, so far no word back.

'Piolin' Sues I'm The Victim of a Spanish Radio SHAKEDOWN

Published | Updated

Spanish radio superstar Piolin has filed a lawsuit against 6 former co-workers ... claiming they were all part of a diabolical plot to shake him down for roughly $5 mil by threatening to go public with false allegations of sexual harassment, TMZ has learned.

Piolin -- real name Eddie Sotelo -- claims 6 former Univision employees contacted him last week and offered to "seal their lips" if he forked over $4.9 million in hush money.

In his lawsuit, filed today in L.A. County Superior Court, Piolin claims the six had threatened to come forward with allegations that mirrored those of another Univision employee who recently accused the radio star of sexual harassment and workplace misconduct. Piolin claims the accusers "have attempted a naked money grab, but have sorely underestimated their target."

As we previously reported, the other Univision employee is Alberto "Beto" Cortez -- who complained to Univision honchos that Piolin would grab his ass and genitals when he would arrive to the workplace. He claims Piolin would also berate him with homophobic slurs.

Piolin adamantly denied Beto's allegations -- claiming Beto concocted the whole story in a pathetic attempt at a shakedown.

As for Piolin's new accusers -- the radio star acknowledges he made outrageous and sarcastic comments on the air ... but says, "Everyone knew this 'horseplay' was all in good fun." Piolin also believes his zany antics were part of why his radio show was a success.

Piolin is suing for civil extortion and intentional infliction of emotional distress. He's asking for unspecified damages.

The leader of the free world President Barack Obama has done something only great men do ... he tipped his server ON TOP of already added gratuity. He DOUBLE TIPPED!

Obama stopped for lunch in Rochester, NY Thursday at a little deli called Magnolia's. It was widely reported that the Prez ate a grilled cheese and some cream of tomato soup. Big stuff.

But what you didn't know ... Obama not only bought lunch for his secret service men (the ones who checked the place for WMD's before hand) ... he also double tipped his waiter, like a champ.

TMZ obtained a copy of the receipt ... his total bill for 9 people was $89.84. The restaurant added a 20% tip for the large party -- $16.64 -- but Obama felt more needed to be done. He gave an additional $30.

In total, B.O. left a 52% tip.

So, we gotta ask ...

'Gilmore Girls' Star Drops $500,000 For Photo Of Strangers

Screw Kickstarter ... celeb photog Tyler Shields was able to fund his first movie ever by selling one of his photos to a huge "Gilmore Girls" star ... for a cool $500,000.

Tyler -- famous for his bloody Lindsay Lohan art, among other things -- sold the piece to Scott Patterson ... known to people with TVs as Luke from "GG".

The sale did more than just line Tyler's pockets. We're told he specifically created the piece with the intention of using it to finance his first film "The Outlaw" (which he wrote, directs and stars in). In fact, the models in the pic are two of the flick's stars.

FUN FACT: the $500,000 pic is bigger than it looks on your tiny computer ... 16 feet by 9 feet ... i.e. the size of a wall in your house.

Adrienne Maloof Toughing Out Single Life In 14,000 Sq. Ft Pad

Published | Updated

Adrienne Maloof is surviving divorce in a big way -- 5 months after hers she's dropped $12.75 million on a GINORMOUS 14,000-square-foot mansion in Beverly Hills ... TMZ has learned.

Adrienne's been renting a 10,000-square-foot casa ever since breaking things off with Paul Nassif -- but apparently that wasn't nearly enough house for her.

Instead, our real estate sources say Adrienne swooped up a bigger, better place last month in the same swanky gated BH community ... which means Charlie Sheen's still her neighbor.

Money can't buy everything -- but it did get Adrienne 14,025 square feet, 6 bedrooms, 8 bathrooms, a pool and epic views from her balcony.

Gloria Gaynor would be proud.

Conrad Murray MJ Hired Me And Hated AEG

Published | Updated

Michael Jackson -- NOT AEG -- hired Dr. Conrad Murray and MJ actually kept AEG at complete arms length on issues of medical treatment, because he felt a bunch of snakes ran the concert promotion company ... and these are the words of Conrad Murray captured on tape.

TMZ has obtained a voice mail Murray recently left on a friend's answering machine. If it were testimony in the wrongful death trial, it could be explosive. Among other things, Murray says:

-- Michael personally offered him the job of being his doctor on the "This Is It" tour

-- AEG actually wanted to hire a less expensive doctor, but Michael got his way with Murray

-- AEG never ordered Murray to give MJ any specific medical treatment. All requests came from Michael

-- AEG was not even aware of the medical treatment Michael was receiving. This point is critical

-- Michael despised AEG and referred to people who worked for the company as "snakes"

-- Michael had particular disdain for "This Is It" producer/director Kenny Ortega. MJ said he hated Ortega, who had no idea how much pain he was inflicting on Michael with the breakneck pace.

And Michael's venom extended to his family. Murray claims during the Jackson 5 Pay for View project, Joe (whom he called Papa Bear) demanded $1 million. Katherine (whom he called Mama Bear) also wanted $1 mil. And each of the brothers wanted $500k.

You gotta hear the audio.

Kristin Cavallari GIVE ME 5 DOLLARS ... Bitches

Published | Updated

This video is pretty great ... Kristin Cavallari messing with the paps after a night of clubbing in Hollywood -- shakin' 'em down for cab fare in exchange for a photo ... and it's awesome.

It's that classic KC bitchiness we all know and love ... with the reality star shaming the paparazzi for $5 outside Hooray Henry's in Hollywood -- "I just posed for you. Pony the f*ck up."

Eventually, one of the snappers opens his wallet ... but Kristin was clearly not impressed.

It's not like she needs the money -- her husband Jay Cutler is at the end of a 5-year $50 million contract.

Still, gotta take what you can get.
