AU REVOIR, GOPHER

Bill Murray just came face to face with an old nemesis on the golf course in Pebble Beach ... THE GOPHER.

It was pretty funny ... Bill took some time during the Pebble Beach Pro-Am to check out the varmint who popped up right near the hole -- just like in "Caddyshack."

Only this time, there were no explosives.

Though we know how Carl Spackler woulda handled the situation ...

Tom Cruise I'm Giving Senate Candidate a Filipino Pass

Published | Updated

Tom Cruise zealously guards his image, which is why it's shocking he's allowing a Senate candidate in the Philippines to use his mug on campaign billboards.

Cresente Paez is gunning for an upgrade from the Philippines House of Representatives to the Senate. So the campaign brain trust came up with this ad, showing Tom Cruise scoffing at Paez's candidacy ... calling it "Mission Impossible." But Paez fires back, "It's Paezible!"

Tom has gone on the attack against people who use his name and likeness without permission, but his longtime lawyer, Bert Fields, tells TMZ, "Since the ad's meant to be funny and doesn't imply an endorsement, I'm sure Tom's not going to assert the right to protect his name and likeness."

Sidenote ... the movie poster is from 2006. Sometimes there's a bit of a delay when movies go international.

Harrison Ford 'Star Wars' Charged in U.K. Over Broken Leg

Published | Updated

Harrison Ford's busted leg on the set of 'The Force Awakens' just got the 'Star Wars' production slapped with 4 criminal charges in England.

The U.K.'s Health and Safety Executive brought the charges against Foodles Production Ltd. -- a Disney subsidiary -- claiming it violated health & safety codes when Han Solo went down during filming.

Back in June 2014 ... a hydraulic metal door on the Millenium Falcon slammed on Ford at Pinewood Studios. Foodles will have to face the judge in May.

Good thing they didn't see what happened to Han later during filming!

Josh Brolin Throws Up Black Power Fist ... Idris Got Stiffed & So Did I

Published | Updated

Josh Brolin's got issues with the Academy Awards -- not only because they dissed some worthy black actors, but they also gave him the cold shoulder.

Josh and his fiancee Kathryn Boyd were at LAX when one of the paps brought up the lack of diversity in Oscar nominees this year, and he quickly pointed out he wasn't invited either.

BTW, Josh was awesome in "Sicario" ... and probably shoulda been nominated.

Anyway, JB says he's happy Idris Elba at least won a SAG Award, but his reaction when someone wished him luck in getting a future nomination was, umm ... unexpected.

Josh is down.

THE ACADEMY STILL DOESN'T GET IT

Jada Pinkett Smith doesn't think loading the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences with black people is a solution to the obvious problem.

We got Jada Tuesday in Flint, Michigan, where she met with the Mayor over the water crisis. Jada doesn't like the notion that black people will automatically vote black.

She has a fascinating point to make about "Beasts of No Nation" and Idris Elba, and why they got overlooked.

As for whether she's softened her position on attending the Oscars ... take a guess and watch the video.

Ben Stiller Like Father, Like Son Nails Blue Steel

Published | Updated

Ben Stiller mugged for the cameras at their "Zoolander 2" premiere -- and by mugged we mean he and his son went full Blue Steel.

Stiller and his wife, Christine Taylor, made it a family affair with their kids Ella and Quinlin at the world premiere of "Zoolander 2" at Alice Tully Hall in New York Tuesday night.

The family stopped to pose on the purple carpet and Stiller's son grabbed the spotlight and flashed a perfect Blue Steel to the crowds.

Stiller's been on a tear promoting "Zoolander 2" in Milan at a department store and breaking a record for exposing his ultra-long stick.

NA NA NA NA ...

Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill aren't the only ones with hard bodies in 'Batman v Superman' ... the new batmobile's also flexing for tourists.

We got this footage of Batman's whip cruising around the Warner Bros. lot, and the guy behind the wheel is a dead ringer for Affleck. Sources on the lot tell us they're not shooting scenes for the movie, which comes out next month.

Instead the batmobile was just on promotional duty -- rolling around to pique the interest of people taking the WB Studio Tour.

This new model reportedly goes up to 205 mph, but the thing looks badass just sitting still.

Ben Stiller whipped out an extra long surprise at the 'Zoolander 2' premiere -- something totally necessary when your career is being "professionally good looking."

Stiller and the cast pulled off a record breaking selfie Thursday night in London with a 28 foot long selfie stick!

Cast members Owen Wilson, Kristen Wiig, Will Ferrell, Penelope Cruz and Justin Theroux all squeezed into the shot, along with many others -- they had plenty of room ... with a stick THAT big.

Rose McGowan Files for Divorce

Published | Updated

Rose McGowan is pulling the plug on her marriage ... filing for divorce.

According to the divorce docs -- obtained by TMZ -- Rose cites the boilerplate "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for ending her 2 year marriage to David Leavitt, who works as a visual artist.

The couple had no kids and we don't know if there's a prenup. Rose's net worth is reportedly around $18 mil.

The 42-year-old actress is asking the judge to reject any claim for spousal support.

It looks like there won't be much of a fight, because the papers indicate there will be a "stipulated judgment," which sounds like a settlement between the 2 of them.

'Sharknado' Famous Prop Priced to Move ... Meaning, It's FREE!!!

Published | Updated

If you're a 'Sharknado' fan with access to a tow truck or flatbed ... that cool RV used to blow up the latest windstorm of flesh-eating great whites is up for grabs!

The Asylum, the production company responsible for the franchise, listed the battle worn ride from 'Sharknado 3' on Craigslist. Asylum's landlord gave them 24 hours to move it or lose it -- so, we're told it's going to the first person who can get it off their lot in Burbank, CA.

The reason it's so trashed has nothing to do with flying sharks, and everything to do with a transient who recently set fire to the thing. Hence, the steal of a price. Asylum thinks the engine's still salvageable though.

C'mon, Ian Ziering ... think of it as a cool DIY project!

'Groundhog Day' Business is Booming at 'Punxsutawney' Inn

Published | Updated

Bill Murray starred in "Groundhog Day" 23 years ago, and the place his character called home continues to cash in ... especially today, February 2nd.

Royal Victorian Manor in Woodstock, IL was the site of Punxsutawney's Cherry Street Inn -- the joint Murray's character inhabited.

The owners tell us the 5 bedroom B&B sold out weeks ago to celebrate the day. In the spirit of capitalism, the owners hiked the room rates 15% for the occasion.

Everyone wants to stay in Murray's room, so they can drop a toaster in bathtubs or dominate "Jeopardy." Problem is ... only the exterior appeared in the flick.

Still, guests can feel a part of movie history, and there are even nearby memorials ... like a plaque commemorating the puddle Murray stepped in every morning ... BING!
