Merrick says her organization has been working for decades to make substantial changes in how we talk about, create policy around and engage big influencers to help make an impact on this issue ... and PCAA has learned that it takes all kinds of partners – researchers, media, other nonprofits and individuals – to stop abuse BEFORE it starts

Applauding the show's creators for acknowledging their influence in changing the narrative around abuse, Merrick adds they set a powerful example for others in entertainment ... and hopes others in Hollywood will take steps to create awareness on the serious issue.

"It makes me like the Simpsons even more," she adds.

As we reported, in the 3rd episode of Season 35, titled "McMansion & Wife," HS declared he would not be choking his cartoon son anymore while meeting his new neighbor.

Knicks fans AND players are prepared for Wemby ... especially Mitchell Robinson, who said earlier this week he knows how to handle a 7'4" guy like Victor.

The Internet is in a frenzy right now over what looks like big 'Shrek' news -- the apparent leaking of the release date for the 5th movie ... courtesy of an intern, of all people.

Here's the deal ... "Shrek 5" is trending, and it all has to do with a screengrab of an alleged LinkedIn resume from a young woman who claims to have recently worked at NBCUniversal -- the parent company of the green guy's studio, DreamWorks.

If the screenshot is legit, the woman made a big blunder ... because she's hyping the fact she worked on 'Shrek 5' this year, which she says is set to come out in 2025.

As far as what she says she was doing on the film -- she says consumer product work ... aka, figuring out how to subtly shove brands into the movie, or product integration, if you will.

Since it was posted and widely shared ... the woman's profile's been tweaked, with the 'Shrek' mention scrubbed. NBCU hasn't officially announced a 'Shrek 5' just yet, but has certainly teased it in recent 'Shrek'-adjacent films.

Obviously, there's a HUGE fanbase for 'Shrek' ... and folks have long been waiting for the next installment -- even though the last 2 had less than great reception.

NBCU hasn't commented on the purported leak ... but some people think this will force an official announcement to come soon.

BTW, speaking of 'Shrek' ... there were some other related updates that surfaced, including Rita Ora dressing up as Princess Fiona (ogre version) and cruising the new Shrek swamp house that AirBnB was plugging recently. She did a weekend stay, and it looked awesome.

Breakout R&B singer Tyla arguably has the R&B hit of the year with "Water" ... but Trevor Jackson's rendition is tarnishing some of that shine, at least that's the reaction he's getting online.

The "Grown-ish" star dropped his "Water" cover earlier this week along with a visual showing him performing the track and getting extremely animated as he strived to hit the notes ... which left his face distorted with emotion.

Taylor Hale -- the first Black woman to win "Big Brother" -- says the show certainly has a racism problem, but thinks there's an easier way to deal with it besides outright canceling.

We talked to the reality show winner, who took home an $800k cash prize last year, in L.A. about what she made of a recurring theme on 'BB' lately ... namely, white contestants continuing to say problematic things about fellow Black competitors year in and year out.

Taylor says she's definitely aware of that trend but doesn't think it's unique to the famous CBS series. On the contrary, she says it's simply a microcosm of American society.

Interestingly enough ... TH also doesn't think the racism and/or microaggressions -- of which she fell victim to on several occasions -- are a cardinal sin in and of themselves in the context of the show. In fact, Taylor says it's a strategic tactic that could be used to win.

What she does take issue with, however, is when people get called out for it ... only to try and deny any wrongdoing. In her eyes, if folks just owned their bad behavior and chalked it up to competition ... they'd probably come out on the other side relatively unscathed.

It's a fascinating take ... basically, Taylor sounds like a realist here -- noting that racism absolutely exists, but also pointing out that people showing their true biased colors in the course of the show isn't as big a deal as Twitter makes it out to be each season.

Case by case, of course ... sometimes contestants say/do things that are actually cancelable -- and when they do, they're booted ASAP. Taylor says 'BB' handles all this well enough.

While on a panel last week with 9th Wonder at the Kennedy Center for Performing Arts, Timbaland quipped JT needed to "put a muzzle" on Britney, blaming today's social media climate for her actions.

Fans thought Timbaland was being insensitive and he saw their perspective, and when some of them asked if he respects women, he fired back a hearty "hell yeah."

JT and Tim go way back -- but so do JT and Britney. In her book, she says they both decided to have an abortion when she got pregnant back in 2000 ... among other shocking revelations from her heyday.

Por supuesto, esto ocurre un mes después del ataque inicial y desde entonces, Israel parece haber perdido algo de apoyo público a medida que continúa su campaña en Gaza. Eso se avecina aquí, también.

La primera proyección de "Bearing Witness" está prevista para esta semana en un lugar no revelado y, según los informes, se ha invitado a más de 120 personas. Se proyectará primero en Los Ángeles y en función de la acogida es posible que haya más proyecciones en el futuro.

Haciéndose eco de ese sentimiento, hay otra organización llamada Alianza para la Paz (ALLMEP) en Oriente Medio, que nos dice: "Ha habido una negación y ofuscación muy preocupantes de los terribles crímenes cometidos el 7 de octubre. Es comprensible que se quiera evitar que esa negación se generalice. Sin embargo, esto debe equilibrarse con el hecho de que estamos tratando con personas cada vez más traumatizadas -tanto en la región como en todo el mundo- que han estado expuestas a imágenes, tanto de los ataques en Israel como ahora de los ataques aéreos en Gaza, que no pueden dejar de ver".

Y añaden: "Esto es especialmente preocupante para los niños y los jóvenes. ALLMEP centra sus esfuerzos en reparar las relaciones entre israelíes y palestinos y promover la paz. Que es, en última instancia, como podemos evitar que escenas espeluznantes como estas se vuelvan a repetir".

Otras fuentes de la organización nos dicen que creen que el gobierno israelí está utilizando a Gal, y un ex soldado de las FDI, para impulsar su agenda, con la esperanza de utilizar sus contactos en Hollywood para difundir su mensaje y así ganar una "guerra por poderes" en el tribunal de la opinión pública.

Se nos dice que ALLMEP reconoce las atrocidades cometidas por Hamás el 7 de octubre, pero dice que la verdadera solución para poner fin a la violencia radica en mostrar el derramamiento de sangre en todo su alcance, tanto de Israel como de Gaza. Gal Gadot plans to host a screening this week that'll show off nearly an hour of nonstop carnage undertaken by Hamas in Israel ... but it's being slammed by a Jewish org in the U.S.

The Israeli actress is said to be lending a hand to director Guy Nattiv in airing a roughly 45-minute film, of sorts, called "Bearing Witness" -- originally compiled by the Israeli Defense Forces ... and which depicts graphic footage and images of Hamas' Oct. 7 rampage.

The whole point of this is to showcase what really happened there that day -- this amid a lot of skeptics and others who've alleged Israel is planting false flags to justify their retaliation in Gaza. Reports of beheaded Israeli babies, for instance, have been scrutinized.

Of course, it comes a month after the initial attack ... and since then, Israel seems to have lost some public support as its campaign in Gaza continues. That's looming here, too.

The first screening of "Bearing Witness" is supposed to go down sometime this week at an undisclosed location -- and according to reports, upwards of 120 people have been invited. L.A. is first, and based on the reception ... more screenings might happen down the line.

In terms of reaction to this ... there's been a lot of pushback from pro-Palestine supporters -- but interestingly enough ... she's also catching flak from an activist organization called Jewish Voice for Peace ...which, FWIW, pegs itself as anti-Zionist.

Its L.A. chapter tells TMZ ... they consider this screening to be a "propaganda event," going on to say it simply won't tell the full picture of this war -- including what's happening right now in Palestine ... namely, thousands of innocent civilians being killed in the crossfire.

JVFP-LA says this type of material only serves to "[fan] the flames of war and genocide" ... adding, Israel is undermining its own mission of trying to save hostages still being held by Hamas through their brutal tactics. In other words ... they're not on board with Gal and co.

Echoing that sentiment is another org called Alliance for Middle East Peace, which tells us ... "There has been some very disturbing denial and obfuscation of the terrible crimes committed on October 7th. It is understandable that there would be a wish to prevent that denial from becoming more widespread. However, this needs to be balanced by the fact that we are dealing with increasingly traumatized people -- both in the region and around the world -- who have been exposed to images, both in the attacks in Israel and now the airstrikes in Gaza, that they cannot unsee."

They add, "This is particularly worrying for children and young people. ALLMEP is focusing efforts on repairing relations between Israelis and Palestinians and furthering peace. Which is ultimately how we can prevent shocking scenes such as these from ever occurring again."

Other org sources tell us they believe Gal -- an ex-IDF soldier herself -- is being used by the Israeli government to push an agenda -- hoping to use her Hollywood connections to spread their message in hopes of winning a "proxy war" in the court of public opinion.

The calls for Brian Cashman's job have never been louder, but the Yankees general manager ain't goin' down without a fight ... the longtime baseball exec got feisty with reporters on Tuesday while defending his team!

"I think we're pretty f***ing good, personally, and I'm proud of our people," Cashman told a horde of reporters at the GM meetings in Scottsdale, AZ.

Today's media sesh with Cash was highly anticipated... it's the first time Brian spoke since the end of an incredibly disappointing season that saw the Bronx Bombers finish in second to last place, just 2 games over .500, despite their near-$279 million payroll.

Cashman also addressed the perception that he's made a bunch of bad trades ... bringing up Sonny Gray and Joey Gallo, two former Yankees who struggled mightily in NYC, but have had success since leaving, with BC saying he "gets a kick out of" people criticizing the moves.

"Since Joey Gallo's left us, who's picked him up? Two playoff teams. Sonny Gray, he's currently in the competition for a Cy Young Award."

Cashman touched on a bunch more ... including the perception that the Yanks are overly dependent on analytics, something Brian says is flat-out untrue.

"No one is doing their deep dives, they're just throwing bulls*** and accusing us of being run analytically. To be said we are guided by analytics as a driver is a lie," Brian said.

Team owner Hal Steinbrenner also talked to the media during a virtual press conference, promising "big changes" to come.

The question is, as another season passes without a World Series win, will any of those changes involve Cash or skipper Aaron Boone losing their jobs as much of the fanbase wants?
