Multiple sources connected to the situation tell us ... roughly 2-3 months ago, the mother of the child had a paternity test done with an ex she suspected to be the father, in an effort to collect child support from him.

But the test turned up negative, so the woman went to Adrian ... with whom she had a sexual encounter several years ago.

We're told ... when Adrian was first informed about the matter, he didn't question the possibility he was the dad -- but rather asked how he could help the situation.

Sources tell us ... a few weeks ago, A.P. started to plan a trip to South Dakota to meet the child for the first time and he was supposed to fly out later this month.

But when he heard the news about the attack on the 2-year-old, Peterson dropped everything and jetted over to Sioux Falls as soon as he could.

We're told Adrian met the child for the first time while the boy was on life support.

Multiple sources tell us ... Adrian has been very involved since the tragedy and was the one pushing to have the child's organs donated to other people in need of a transplant.

As for the suspect, Joey Patterson, we're told Adrian has never met the guy.

Some guys give their wives diamonds when they give birth ... but Indianapolis Colts player Antoine Bethea just set the bar even higher ... lavishing his fiancee with a super tricked-out BMW.

Antoine tells TMZ ... he bought the 2013 BMW X6 to celebrate the birth of their daughter (that's called a push present, guys) and his fiancee's birthday ... then had the whip completely rebuilt.

Sources close to the customizing shop say the car has about $30K worth of modifications, including:

-body lowered 3 inches
-custom grill
-smoked head and tail lights
-customized bumpers
-powder coated black rims

And the sickest part of all ... lighted projectors in the doors that project the BMW logo onto the ground when the doors are open.

Arnold Schwarzenegger's son Joseph Baena is turning 16 today ... and he's getting the perfect gift from his dad -- A COMPLETE HOME GYM ... TMZ has learned.

In case you haven't noticed, Joseph is a behemoth -- a virtual carbon copy of a very young Austrian immigrant ... and Arnold clearly feels the apple may not fall far from the gigantic redwood tree.

Although Joseph lives with his mom in Bakersfield ... we've learned Arnold has established a very close relationship with the boy. They talk regularly on the phone and Arnold has flown him to several premieres.

As one source put it, "Once the truth came out, Arnold embraced Joseph. Since then, they've been slowly building a great relationship."

FYI -- Arnold started pumping iron around the time he was 16 and he quickly blew up to become Mr. Universe. So, current Mr. Bakersfield ... watch your back!

Lauren's responsibilities -- according to the couple, Lauren is tasked with making the decision about filming the birth of their child.

If there was any doubt Arnold Schwarzenegger shtuped his former maid .... DOUBT NO MORE ... 'cause his love child is about to turn 16 -- and he looks just like his humungous father.

Standing roughly 8'2" and weighing an estimated 475 lbs (pure muscle) ... genetic jackpot winner Joseph Baena strolled alongside his mother Mildred during a shopping excursion in Bakersfield, CA yesterday.

Joseph was sporting a shirt from a swimming and diving competition -- it's unclear if he participated, but we're guessing if he did, he dominated ... based purely on his enormous physique.

Fun Fact -- Arnold first began competitive bodybuilding around the age of 16 ... and eventually excelled in competitive adultery.

It's like deja vu all over again -- Michael Jordan has just been sued by another woman claiming he's the father of her baby ... but just like last time, MJ says she's a fame whore liar out for cash.

Laquetta Theus filed the paternity suit in Georgia, claiming she gave birth to Juyana Rachelle Henderson in August 2010 ... and MJ's the daddy.

Shocker, Laquetta's out for child support ... big time ... she even wrote on her Facebook profile, "Michael Jordan, when are you going to support your 2-year-old daughter? You drop 10 million on your nice wedding ... that was nice but don’t you think it time that you support your daughter?"

Laquetta's lawsuit is pretty much a carbon copy of a suit that was filed against Jordan earlier this year by Pamela Smith, who made nearly identical claims. Pamela's claim has already been tossed out.

As for Laquetta ... Jordan filed legal docs claiming her kid's paternity has already been established. Some other guy's the baby daddy -- not him.

And we haven't even mentioned the picture ...

If Camille Grammer promises to desecrate you, she will desecrate you ... at least that's the lesson her boyfriend's bitter ex just learned in court.

You'll recall, Camille filed a lawsuit against Lisa Chynoweth last year, claiming her boyfriend's ex and baby mama illegally recorded a phone call in which Camille threatened to "desecrate" the woman and her family.

Camille claimed Lisa baited her into making the angry threats, and illegally recorded the conversation without her consent. Lisa then used the recording as ammo in her custody battle with Camille's BF Dimitri Charalambopoulos, making Camille look like a crazy, vindictive person.

Among the threats, Camille said, "I will desecrate you ... I have lawyers that are beyond what you can imagine and they will pull stuff on you and you will be so mortified about your life and your family and what you have done."

The phone call was played during a deposition for Dimitri and Lisa's custody war, and a recording surfaced on YouTube soon after. Camille blamed Lisa for recording and then leaking it.

Camille just won the lawsuit, and she won without a fight, because Lisa never filed an answer to the complaint ... so the judge just issued a default judgment.

Blake Griffin couldn't have knocked up Matt Leinart's baby mama at a better time -- because now that Matty's looking for a new NFL gig ... well, let's say someone's gotta pick up the financial slack.

Blake Griffin had it bad for his baby mama Brynn Cameron's brother ... and the NBA star even filmed a video to prove it.

A little background: Brynn's bro Jordan Cameron was a standout tight end for USC football back in 2011, and for some reason, Blake really really wanted to make sure Jordan got drafted by an NFL team.

So ... Blake filmed a hype video (and homage to Mars Blackmon) for Jordan -- co-starring Jordan -- before the draft.

Guess it worked ... the Browns picked Jordan -- mazel tov -- but did Blake only agree to shoot the hype video because he was banging Jordan's sister at the time? We can't say for sure (probably).

Former USC basketball star Brynn Cameron has an eye for athletic sperm. You may recall she had a baby with NFL QB Matt Leinart. Well guess whose baby she just had ... that would be Clippers superstar Blake Griffin!

TMZ has learned ... Brynn and Blake are now the proud parents of Ford Wilson Cameron-Griffin, who was born August 1st. The birth certificate lists Brynn as the mother and Blake Austin Griffin as the daddy.

As for the child she had with her baby daddy Matt, 6-year-old Cole lives primarily with her and we're told she's getting a boatload of child support -- we know she was getting $15k a month.

Brynn and Blake were dating, and apparently it went well for a while -- or for at least one night. And, we just found out ... Brynn and Blake are NO LONGER TOGETHER.

Let's just say ... in the baby daddy sweepstakes, Brynn is a Hall of Famer.

It never ends ... Dwyane Wade's ex-wife is poking the hornet's nest again -- this time demanding the right to publicly bash the NBA star.

Dwyane and Siovaughn Funches wrapped up their bitter six-year divorce in July, after Wade agreed to provide a generous financial settlement. As part of the deal Funches agreed to a gag order, prohibiting her from talking smack about their relationship.

But Funches has now filed legal docs challenging the settlement, claiming she never agreed to several terms -- including the gag order.

She wants a judge to nullify the agreement, which would force Wade back to the bargaining table.

As for the gag order, Funches says ... if Wade is free to bash her in his book , she should have the same right to bash him. A judge has yet to rule on her request.

Hide ya eggs, hide ya uterus, 'cause Antoine Dodson is IMPREGNATING PEOPLE!

The former bedroom intruder-fighting YouTube star has announced he's knocked up his "queen" -- and the two are having a baby.

Dodson tweeted, "I just became the happiest man alive!! My beautiful Queen and I are having a baby!!"

As we previously reported, Dodson used to be an openly gay man ... but after becoming a member of the Hebrew Israelites earlier this year, he "renounced" his homosexuality ... saying, "I want a wife and family, I want to multiply and raise and love my family that I create."

As for the baby mama -- so far, no word on her identity.

Dodson called in to "TMZ Live" about the whole thing ... and was eerily mysterious. It was bizarre. Take a look.

Floyd Mayweather Jr.'s current GF better not get too comfortable ... because the boxing legend is banging at least SEVEN other women behind her back -- so claims Floyd's baby mama Josie Harris.

Harris called in to "TMZ Live" today to explain her beef with Floyd's on-again-off-again girlfriend Shantel Jackson, after Jackson allegedly ripped off her 10-year-old daughter's dress at the big fight in Vegas on Saturday ... but the beef wasn't the bombshell.

Harris is clearly pissed, but says Jackson has bigger things to worry about than some 10-year-old's dress ... namely Floyd's parade of women he's banging on the side. You gotta watch the clip!

All that said ... Harris still feels the designer who sold Jackson the same dress committed a "cardinal sin" in the fashion world. Listen below.

Floyd Mayweather Jr.'s baby mama is LIVID -- telling TMZ, her 10-year-old daughter was dressed up like some gold-digging hoochie at the big fight on Saturday ... and it's all one designer's fault.

The designer in question is Project Runway's Michael Costello -- and Floyd's baby mama Josie Harris tells us, Costello was hired to design a very special dress for the boxer's 10-year-old daughter Jirah to wear at the Canelo fight in Vegas (left).

Josie says the dress came out great -- but when they showed up to the fight, she noticed Floyd's on-and-off-again side piece Shantel Jackson wearing the same exact dress (right).

According to Josie, she paid Costello $795 for a one-of-a-kind dress, and now she's pissed the guy gave a replica to none other than Floyd's girlfriend ... who also sat ringside.

Josie tells us, "It's an unspoken rule and a cardinal sin for a 'real designer' to dress clients alike going to the same major event ... Tacky, tacky, tacky."

And Josie didn't stop there, turning her anger toward Jackson as well ... adding, "She is a total gold digger ... She conveniently came back around 2 days before Floyd got his $41.5 million check."

As for the designer, Costello says he will NOT be giving anyone a refund -- telling us, "No exclusivity was promised regarding the dress. If you want exclusivity, you need to pay more." Costello says his people told Miss Jackson that Floyd's daughter would be wearing the same dress and she didn't care.

Former NBA star Allen Iverson -- who raked in more than $140 million during his career -- says he's a pathetic shadow of the man he once was ... at least financially ... and he wants his ex-wife to drop her child support demands.

TMZ broke the story -- Allen’s ex-wife Tawanna Iverson went to court last month, asking a judge to force Allen to pay $1,272,000 into a trust fund for child support. She wanted the money in a lump sum because she was sick of chasing him every month.

Allen has now filed court docs scoffing at her demand, because he doesn't have the dough.

Allen says the only steady source of income he has is a Reebok deal. We don't know exactly how much he pulls in, but he claims it's nowhere near enough to meet his ex-wife's demands.

Allen also says he resents his ex's claim that he's a deadbeat dad, boasting that he paid more than half-a-mil in support this year alone.
