Lindsey Vonn's brief stint as an L.A. Rams fan might already be over -- because her boyfriend is no longer a member of the coaching staff ... TMZ Sports has learned.

Kenan Smith was an offensive assistant coach with the team for a couple years until late last season ... when he was promoted to tight end coach.

But with head coach Jeff Fisher getting the ax ... it seems Smith did too.

No word on where he'll go next -- but don't worry, with a few years of NFL coaching experience under his belt, he should be fine.

And until then, he's traveling the world with his smokin' hot Olympic legend girlfriend and learning how to ski ... so yeah, don't feel bad at all.

Robert James Waller, best known for penning the romantic novel "The Bridges of Madison County," has died.

Waller passed away in Texas either Thursday or Friday, according to his literary agency after battling some sort of illness.

Waller wrote several books but "Bridges of Madison County" was his most popular, spending over 3 years on the New York Times bestseller list. Rumor has it he wrote the book -- about a National Geographic photographer who falls in love with a married Italian woman while on assignment in Iowa -- in only 11 days.

The novel was later turned into a Clint Eastwood-directed film starring Meryl Streep that grossed millions and earned Meryl her 10th Oscar nom.

Some of other Waller's notable works include "Puerto Vallarta Squeeze", 'A Thousand Country Roads' and "Slow Waltz in Cedar Bend."

Aldon Smith insists he did nothing wrong -- was not detained -- and was only inside a San Francisco jail to visit a friend who was locked up inside.

As Smith left an S.F. jail following a car crash in which he was allegedly a passenger, he told a pack of reporters that he was doing great .... "nothing happened."

"I had to go handle something and talk to somebody" Smith said ... "I was talking to a friend who is locked up in there. That’s what I went to go do. If I did something I’d be in jail right now. Like I didn’t do anything."

He added, "So we need to, if you guys want to talk about me, let’s make these stories a little bit better. Let’s put me in a better spotlight and stop making me seem like I’m some badass criminal."

"Because that’s not who I am. I’m a good person. I’ve never done anything, I’ve never hurt anybody. I’m not that type of person. Let’s start replacing these stories. That’s your story alright? Get out of my face now please."

As we previously reported, Smith was detained for public intoxication early Thursday morning after a car he was a passenger in smashed into a cop car.

With Bob Dylan's "The Times They Are A-Changin'" playing in the background, Tony Romo just thanked Cowboys fans for all the love and support as he figures out his NFL future.

"I just wanted to come to tell you it's been a crazy 48 hours here," Romo said from what appears to be his home gym.

"Me and my family felt the outpouring of support and love from all of you ... it's been overwhelming and it doesn't go unnoticed."

At one point his wife Candice Romo walks by and says, "Babe, enough with the sad music."

More trouble for Aldon Smith ... who was detained by police in San Francisco around 8 AM Thursday after a car he was riding in smashed into a cop car and the officer says Smith was drunk at the time.

The troubled Oakland Raiders star was NOT driving the car at the time of the crash, however cops did arrest the driver for DUI.

The bigger issue for Smith ... the alcohol allegations.

The 27-year-old has struggled with substance abuse and is currently serving an NFL suspension for violating the league's substance abuse policy.

According to reports, he's still in the league's substance abuse program -- we're making calls to figure out his status.

DeMarcus Cousins lost his cool ... twice ... and it cost him.

The NBA has fined the New Orleans Pelicans star $50,000 after footage surfaced showing him telling a fan to "suck my d**k" during Sunday night's game against the Lakers.

The league also references an incident where he told a heckler the following night to "sit your fat ass down."

On both occasions, Cousins was being heckled by rival fans. Both were away games.

Don't cry too much for DeMarcus ... he's making $16.9 MILLION this season.

Vince Young is officially a professional football player again ... signing a standard one-year deal with the CFL's Saskatchewan Roughriders.

The 33-year-old ex-Texas Longhorns star -- who hasn't stepped foot on a football field as a player since 2011 -- vowed to return to the gridiron earlier this year, hiring big-time sports agent Leigh Steinberg.

Casey Anthony thinks it would be a blessing if she had another child.

Casey insists she still has no idea what happened to Caylee 9 years ago, and swears it would've come to her during years of mental evaluations -- "I've been tested, I've gone through the psychological evaluations, I've talked about this to the point where I've been in a puddle not being able to talk about it for days afterwards."

AP didn't directly ask her about having a new baby, but she offered this up ... Boxing champ Terence Crawford found himself playing the role of referee during a violent girl-on-girl street fight in Omaha ... and one of the combatants was his own sister.

Here's the deal ... a woman named Mystery Wakefield says she was working at the Citi Trends clothing shop in Omaha when she was approached by Terence's sister who wanted to fight.

Mystery says she clocked out of her job (don't wanna fight on company time) and met Iesha Crawford outside ... where they proceeded to throw down.

Terence -- who was recently released from jail -- can be seen trying to break up the fight.

The boxer eventually left the scene, but cops tracked down his car and pulled him over. A gun was found inside the vehicle and he was taken to a nearby station for questioning. He was later released with no charges.

As for why the women were fighting and why Terence was there ... we're still looking into it.

Dez Bryant unleashed the fury all over a Twitter troll Wednesday -- saying haters "have no clue" what he's been dealing with off the field over the past 2 years and should "shut the f**k up."

It all started when Cowboys reporter Jon Machota posted a list of WRs with the most receiving yards since 2012 which showed Dez ranked 8th ... below Calvin Johnson, T.Y. Hilton and Brandon Marshall.

Dez explained that he's finally getting his first healthy off-season training in 2 years and suggested he'll bounce back strong in 2017.

Not everyone's buying it -- including one guy who tweeted at Dez, "Injury prone. If your not on the field, talent means nothing! If you miss more than 5 games in 17' you'll be cut 2018!UNDERSTAND."

Dez didn't like that and fired back ...

"Bro shut the f**k up.. the game of football is more than training and playing.. you have no clue what I was dealing with these pass 2 years."

We know SOME of what he's dealt with off the field ... he's been sued for allegedly trashing a mansion and blasted by animal groups over a pet monkey ... but it seems like Dez is hinting at bigger issues.

Faizon Love unleashed extreme violence on that valet in the Columbus airport -- and the surveillance video shows the full brutality of the attack.

Airport officials just released this footage which show the actor and comedian talking to parking staffers, then getting so pissed he grabbed the valet by the back of his head and slammed him into a counter.

It's not really much of a fight because the much larger Faizon tossed the guy around like a rag doll until the guy's coworkers broke it up and police arrived. He was arrested for assault, arraigned in court Wednesday morning and released on $2,000 bond.

We obtained aftermath video, and Faizon was still super pissed.

Scarlett Johansson filed to divorce Romain Dauriac ... her husband of just over 2 years.

Scarlett filed divorce docs in NYC on Tuesday, and she's asking for primary custody of their daughter, Rose ... according to the NY Post.

Romain reportedly plans to fight for custody of Rose ... which could set up an ugly court battle. He's French and his attorney told the Post he plans to move back there.

There's been speculation for months about their marital status. Scarlett announced early this year they had actually separated last summer -- but then they were photographed together in January, and seemed ... congenial.

We've reached out to Scarlett's reps ... but no word back.

The Uber driver who picked up Dwyane Wade from a Waffle House in Orlando Tuesday damn near lost his mind when he realized he had an NBA superstar in his ride ... and the video is awesome!

Wade had rented out the restaurant to grub with his Chicago Bulls teammates Rajon Rondo, Jerian Grant and others when he ordered an Uber to take him back to the team hotel.

But his driver happened to be a HUGE Miami Heat fan -- and fanboys out over the future Hall of Famer.

In fact, he tells D-Wade he couldn't believe the Heat ever let him go.

Wade loved the guy -- and said they're already "fast friends."

A self-professed Kim Kardashian hater turned himself in to cops for trashing a bookstore display of one of her books.

Carl Puia was charged Monday with third-degree criminal mischief. The 74-year-old man walked into a Barnes & Noble back in October and destroyed 6 of Kim's "Selfish" books with a red dyed liquid.

Puia also left a lengthy note bashing the Glastonbury, CT bookstore for selling any Kardashian-related materials ... according to the Hartford Courant. Police tell us they weren't aware Puia was the perpetrator and were not actively searching for him.

He was released without posting bail.
