Pharrell Williams 'Happy' Lift & Concert Hookup For Young Leukemia Patient
Pharrell Williams just made a little kid's dream come true by getting him a ride to his concert and serenading him with "Happy" onstage.
Eight-year-old Reef Carneson suffers from acute lymphoblastic leukemia and has been in the hospital since he turned one. He's a huge Pharrell fan and dreamed of meeting him someday.
Enter celebrity weed mogul turned cancer advocate Milk Tyson, who made a video last Wednesday with Reef asking Pharrell for a FaceTime session.
Once Pharrell got word, he invited Reef to his Saturday night show in Philadelphia. However, Reef's immune system is too weak for air travel, so Pharrell hired a private car to drive him all the way from Cincinnati.
Milk says the singer put them up in a 5-star hotel, got them tickets and backstage passes. Best of all, Reef and his sister got onstage with him for "Happy." Keep in mind, Pharrell hopped a plane the next day to perform at One Love Manchester.
That's a big-hearted weekend.

Cortez Kennedy Hospitalized Days Before Death ... Swollen Legs
NFL Hall of Famer Cortez Kennedy was hospitalized for swollen legs just days before he died ... and the information could hold the clue as to why he passed away.
TMZ Sports obtained the police report in the 48-year-old's death -- which says Kennedy had called a friend the night before he died because he was concerned about his health.
During the call, Kennedy said he was feeling dizzy and asked the friend to check on him in the morning to make sure he was okay.
Sadly, by the time the friend went to Kennedy's Orlando, FL home on May 23, he was already dead.
Investigators say medical paperwork found in Kennedy's home confirm he was hospitalized from May 10 to May 15.
Though a cause of death has not been revealed, it wouldn't be far-fetched to link his death to his hospital stay the week before. Swollen legs can sometimes be a symptom of anything from a blood clot to diabetes to heart failure.

Bailey also says he plans on releasing a book about "how being innocently shot gave me a whole new outlook on life."

Chris Cornell Toxicology Report Rx Drugs in System
12:55 PM PT -- Vicky tells us, "Many of us who know Chris well, noticed that he wasn’t himself during his final hours and that something was very off. We have learned from this report that several substances were found in his system. After so many years of sobriety, this moment of terrible judgement seems to have completely impaired and altered his state of mind."
She added, "Something clearly went terribly wrong and my children and I are heartbroken and are devastated that this moment can never be taken back. We very much appreciate all of the love we have received during this extremely difficult time and are dedicated to helping others in preventing this type of tragedy.”
Chris Cornell had several prescription drugs in his system when he hanged himself in a Detroit hotel room ... according to the toxicology report.
According to the report, obtained by TMZ, the singer had Naloxone (Narcan), Butalbital (sedative), Lorazepam (Ativan), Pseudoephedrine (decongestant) and barbiturates in his system at the time of death. It appears Chris had taken 4 (1 mg) Lorazepam tablets.
We broke the story, Vicky claims she was on the phone with Chris a half hour before his death ... when he began speaking in tones she hadn't heard since he was addicted to Oxycontin 14 years ago. She was so alarmed by the slurring and tone she asked Chris' bodyguard to break his hotel door down.
As we reported, cops observed fresh track marks on Chris' arm. According to the tox report, he had 4 needle puncture wounds on his left arm, but it appears the marks were from EMTs administering Narcan to counteract an opiate OD.
Family sources tell us Vicky and others are angry the medical examiner "jumped to conclusions" Chris committed suicide. They believe he was so high on drugs he did not really form an intent to kill himself ... he was out of his mind when he put the exercise belt around his neck.
In essence, Chris' family believes this was an accidental death.

-
EXCLUSIVE
Stan Lee and his wife got a visit from cops earlier this week after one of Stan's ex-business partners went to cops and said Stan's wife was the victim of elder abuse at the hands of their daughter ... but cops now say the allegation is B.S.
Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... cops got their hands on photos last week showing severe bruising on Joan Lee's left arm ... and the person who filed the report implored them to investigate. The person filing the complaint claimed Joan suffered the injuries after being pushed by her daughter.
Police went to the home of the Marvel Comics icon behind the 'Avengers,' 'Spider-Man,' 'X-Men' and 'Guardians of the Galaxy' franchises. Both he and his wife could not have been clearer ... there was no abuse whatsoever. Cops say Joan is 93 and bruises easily. Police spoke with their daughter separately and determined the allegation of abuse was baseless.
It's interesting ... the photos were taken 3 years ago, and the ex-business partner told police he came forward because he felt guilty he stayed silent for so long. Stan says the guy is bitter the 2 no longer work together and that's his motivation.
Case closed. Or as Stan would say ... 'nuff said.

Jamie Foxx Oprah Saved Me From Alcohol
Jamie Foxx was on a fast track to blowing his career after he made the movie "Ray" ... and Oprah told him so and scared him straight.
The Academy Award-winning actor went on "The Howard Stern Show" and confessed he was drinking and partying way too much back in 2005 when Oprah staged what amounts to an intervention.
O called him and told Jamie straight-up he was ruining his career, saying, "All of this gallivanting and all this kind of s**t that's not what you want to do. I want to take you somewhere."
Jamie met Oprah at Quincy Jones' house after the call for a come-to-Jesus moment, where Sidney Poitier and other black Hollywood actors were on hand to push Jamie toward more sober and responsible living. Unclear whether he went to rehab, but whatever he did worked.
Jamie won the Best Actor Oscar award for "Ray."
