Drake No Collab With Taylor Swift ... Despite Throwback Photo

Published | Updated

Drake and Taylor Swift are NOT about to drop new music together ... despite a social media post from Drizzy fueling rumors about a potential collab in the works.

Sources with direct knowledge tell TMZ … sadly there is NO collab between Drake and Taylor that is about to be released, and Champagne Papi's Instagram post from Monday is just a throwback photo with no hidden message.

As we reported ... the OVO rapper posted a photo dump on IG, which included a photo of him with his arm around Taylor. Drake captioned the post, "They too soft to understand the meaning of hard work".

Our sources say there's nothing behind the pic other than memories ... and the photo with T-Swift is from a few years ago, sometime in 2017 or 2018.

Drake and Taylor are friends with a long history ... and the post and caption led many to believe Drizzy was signaling new music ... but we're told it's just a harmless throwback post.

As you were.

DJ Envy ... I May Be Pro-50 Cent But ... Benzino Has Zero Chance in Court!!!

HE CAN DO NO WRONG

DJ Envy has an admitted 50 Cent bias – but he's still calling cap on Benzino's plans to sue the "Power" series honcho for defamation.

We caught "The Breakfast Club" co-host with his wife Gia outside Fox News in NYC, and while he pledged his allegiance to 50 Cent (they came up through the same underground hip hop grind in Queens), he doesn't feel Benzino can truthfully present a winning case in court.

Envy acknowledged Young Buck and Benzino's beefs with 50 Cent ... after catching his social media wrath, but in his opinion, they're both out of legal luck.

Again, he's admittedly biased, but even Envy opted to deflect when we asked him about Fiddy's Easter Sunday shot at Jay-Z ... saying he looks like a "gay painter" and posting a side-by-side of Jigga and Basquiat.

HE'S A RAT

Back to Benzino ... he was just on TMZ's "It's Tricky With Raquel Harper," calling for 50's head in court and comparing him to Tekashi 6ix9ine ... in terms of alleged snitching, at least.

DJ Envy and Gia are currently promoting their book, the ridiculously long-titled "Real Life, Real Love: Life Lessons on Joy, Pain & the Magic That Holds Us Together" -- but what could feel longer than being married for 10 years without an orgasm?

FAKE IT 'TIL YOU MAKE IT

The couple recently stepped into The Shade Room to reveal they not only endured a cheating scandal, but 10 years of Gia faking the big O to satisfy Envy's ego. That admission stirred up a spicy convo on the latest episode of TMZ Hip Hop.

Trick Daddy My Biz Survived Beyoncé Backlash ... Throws Fresh Jab at Kevin Hart!!!

Published

Trick Daddy insists his restaurant did NOT take a hit, following his controversial take on Beyoncé's singing skills -- and yet, the rapper-turned-chef is firing some new shots.

He joined "TMZ live" to clear the air on those comments he made about Bey. ICYMI, his restaurant, Sunday's Eatery, got flooded with bad online reviews, starting last summer, when he said "Beyoncé can't sing."

Waiting for your permission to load the Instagram Media.

The joint's Google ratings dropped from 4.8 to 2.6, but TD tells us Sunday's Eatery weathered the storm just fine. Most importantly -- for the Beyhive, anyway -- he also called Beyoncé the greatest entertainer (not singer) in the world.

As far as those bad reviews, he blames trolls and not Beyoncé's dedicated fans ... because he says, "real fans" understand people have different opinions.

The whole experience isn't making him shy, though ... he offered up what he admits will be an "unpopular opinion" -- "Kevin Hart ain't funny."

We think he's just baiting Kevin to come on his new cooking show, "Bitch, I Got My Pots" -- which is airing nightly this week on Fox Soul. Trick Daddy says he's dishing up great food, big guests and yeah ... lots of hot takes.

Kid Cudi Pusha T Is My Guy, But Kanye Is NOT ... Enjoy Our Last Collab, EVER!!!

Published

If kids really do see ghosts, they're gonna see the corpse of what was Kanye West and Kid Cudi's once-tight relationship -- which Cudi is now laying to rest. For good.

Cudi put the final nail in the coffin Tuesday when Pusha T's "It's Almost Dry" tracklist hit the internet.

While the Jay-Z-featured "Neck & Wrist" has penetrated Hip Hop news, it's the song "Rock N Roll" that Kid Cudi has an issue with ... because it also features Ye.

The Man on the Moon crushed longtime Good Music fans by tweeting the ONLY REASON the song is being released to the public is his love for Pusha T. He added that "Rock N Roll" was recorded when he and Ye were on friendly terms.

It was, in fact, Kanye who severed their friendship this last time around when he sliced Kid Cudi's "Donda 2" contribution ... because Cudi refused to end his friendship with Pete Davidson, which Ye wanted nixed for obvious reasons.

Kanye and Cudi's relationship has been roller-coaster-like for years, with some of the highs including collaborating on blockbuster albums such as "808s & Heartbreak" and "The Life Of Pablo" while Ye produced Drake's Kid Cudi diss "Two Birds, One Stone" is one reason they're at the end at the road.

Pusha T's album drops this Friday, kicking off a Hip Hop album release wave that includes Kendrick Lamar, Jack Harlow and Future.

And after "Rock N Roll," it's a wrap.

Jacqueline Avant Shooter Sentenced To Life In Prison After Pleading Guilty

Published | Updated
UPDATE

11:52 AM PT -- 4/19 -- We've obtained the Avant families letter to the judge that was read by the deputy district attorney during the sentencing, and it's gut-wrenching.

UPDATE

Dear Judge,

UPDATE

There are no words to describe the nightmare we have endured because of the cruel and vicious acts of the defendant. As I write this letter, painfully reflecting on the shocking horror of that night and the emotional and psychological aftermath that has followed, there is only one word that describes the state of our family: SHATTERED. We are shattered.  Jacqueline Avant, our beloved mother and wife, was very much alive and she loved her life. She was vibrant, she was active, and she was a critical support beam for her family, her many friends, and the communities she served. My mother devoted every cell in her body to helping others, spending over thirty years as an organizer, activist, and advocate for the people, and more specifically, the children of Watts. To have her life brutally taken from us and the countless people who depended on her support, love, and generosity is devastating and we will suffer from not only her loss, but also how it occurred, for the rest of our lives. Nobody who lived the way she did should have had to die the way she died. Second to her faith, my mother’s greatest belief was in the possibility of a safe and just world, and this is why we ask that the defendant spend the rest of his natural life in prison, without the possibility of parole. We will never get my mother back, but we feel it is our duty to act in her footsteps and work to protect the people in our communities. The trauma we are living through is immeasurable, we have no idea what healing from this violent loss looks like or if it is even possible, but we hold on to the hope that this individual will never have the chance to do this to another family.

UPDATE

Sincerely,

UPDATE

Nicole Avant and The Avant-Sarandos Family

Jacqueline Avant's murderer has just learned his fate after pleading guilty to the crime -- and he'll be doing some hard time for a good long while.

Aariel Maynor -- who was arrested and subsequently convicted of murdering Mrs. Avant after entering his plea in March -- was sentenced Tuesday in L.A. County ... and the judge threw the book at him, sending him to prison for the rest of his life.

APPREHENDING AARIEL

As we reported ... Maynor copped to breaking into Jacqueline and her husband Clarence's Beverly Hills home in December -- and then opened fire with an "assault long barrel pistol" when he came upon Jacqueline, who wasn't with Clarence at the time. Maynor then fled the scene.

Jacqueline was taken to a hospital, but succumbed to her injuries and died.

Photos of the crime surfaced shortly thereafter, and it looks like Maynor broke through a sliding glass door on a side of the property ... leaving behind a ton of shattered glass.

Prosecutors pushed for a lengthy sentence, telling the judge Maynor bragged and joked with his friends about the situation from a jail phone. According to court docs, he also said he expected to serve a max of 25 years because the prosecutors did not file a so-called "special circumstances" murder charge.

Jacqueline was deeply involved in her community, serving as the President of the Neighborhood of Watts, as well as serving on the Board of Directors of UCLA's International Student Center. She was 81.

Clarence, of course, is known as the Godfather of Black music -- having had a hand in a number of classic records and albums throughout the years ... with the likes of Jay-Z, Diddy, L.A. Reid and others singing his praises for his influence in the culture.

Golden State Warriors We're Takin' Over Music Industry ... Debuting BamBam's New Single, 'Wheels Up'

Published

The Warriors aren't just chasing rings anymore -- they're going after the entire entertainment industry ... as the team is set to release K-pop star BamBam's new single, "Wheels Up" this week!!

The Dubs just launched Golden State Entertainment ... with the intent to tell stories via music and documentaries, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

The team's first project with the new venture is to release the GOT7 rapper's new song ... which he performed during halftime of the Warriors game earlier this month.

Remember, BamBam -- the Warriors' global ambassador this season -- recently teamed up with the org. to release a special merch collab ... which was a big hit with the fans.

BamBam's love of the Warriors runs deep ... in fact, the GOT7 rapper was an integral part in securing Andrew Wiggins a spot in the NBA's All-Star Game ... by calling on his massive social media following (16 million Instagram followers) to vote for the 27-year-old.

GSE exec David Kelly explained the shift into entertainment ... saying, "When you think about what we already do, we create content."

"We do storytelling, and this is just another form of storytelling. It’s a new type of content that we’re well-positioned to create."

"The line between sports and entertainment, we think, is pretty thin," he added, "and we just feel that we’re in a position to step a little over that line and begin to create original content."

Considering the success of the Warriors' previous collabs with BamBam, we're sure the new single will be a big hit -- especially with the support of the Ahgases.

Jacqueline Avant Prosecutor Says Murderer Bragged To Friends About Killing

Published

Aariel Maynor, the man that shot and killed Jacqueline Avant, bragged to his friends over the phone from jail after murdering the 81-year-old philanthropist ... this according to the prosecutor seeking to lock him up for the rest of his life.

According to court documents, obtained by the Los Angeles Times, Maynor laughed about all the publicity he's been getting to a friend during a jail call ... she didn't think it was funny, telling him he shouldn't be joking about someone's life. He told her it was all over the news, wondering "You think my mama's seen that, though?"

He told her he expected to get $50K from the Avant's house before the robbery went south.

He reportedly called another friend from jail and told them he expected to only serve a max of 25 years because the prosecutors did not file a so-called "special circumstances" murder charge -- which could've resulted in life without parole, or even the death penalty.

As we reported, Maynor broke into the Avants' Beverly Hills home in December, opening fire on Jacqueline with his assault long barrel pistol. She was taken to a hospital but died of her injuries.

Police caught Maynor an hour later ... after he was found attempting to burglarize another home in the Hollywood Hills but accidentally shot himself in the foot.

Maynor pleaded guilty in March to murder, attempted murder, possession of a firearm by a felon and two counts of burglary ... the D.A. is seeking 150 years to life for the murder charge plus a consecutive 43-year term for the other crimes.

Hi-Five's Roderick 'Pooh' Clark Dead At 49

Published

Roderick "Pooh" Clark, an original member of Hi-Five, has died.

Marcus Sanders, fellow Hi-Five member, tells TMZ ... Roderick died on Sunday from complications from an infection and pneumonia at a hospital in Waco, TX.

He tells us Roderick got into a car crash 30 years ago in Florida that left him paralyzed from the neck down, making him unable to walk. He developed an infection that spread through his body -- one that persisted for some time.

He also developed pneumonia over the last 2 weeks, being in and out of the hospital up until his death.

Those close to Roderick have been posting tributes to the late singer online, including the band's musical director Martinez Little, saying, "We had some amazing phone conversations in the past and some great visits when I came thru Waco! I'll cherish them forever."

Roderick and his quintet group of R&B singers formed in 1989 ... other than him and Marcus, they also had bandmates Tony Thompson, Russell Neal, and Toriano Easley. They reached the top of the charts in 1991 with their hit, "I Like The Way (The Kissing Game)."

Roderick was 49.

Drake Posts Photo With Taylor Swift ... Music Collab in the Works???

Published | Updated

If it's one thing Drake is good at, it's making a hit song ... and his latest photo with Taylor Swift has us thinking there could be one in the works with the pop artist.

The OVO rapper dropped a series of photos on Instagram, Monday ... and the last of five is with no one other than pop star, T-Swift.

It's not clear if it is a throwback photo or if it was taken recently ... but Drizzy captioned the gallery saying, "They too soft to understand the meaning of hard work".

And, he could be on to something ... both Taylor and Drake have worked super hard and rose from the ranks in the music industry. Drake's been bestowed the award of Artist of the Decade by Billboard and Taylor was named Billboard’s Greatest Pop Star of 2021.

Of course, a music collab wouldn't be the biggest stretch ... Taylor and the Champagne Papi have been friends for a minute. They've been spotted together as far back as 2013, at the MTV Video Music Awards.

In Taylor's 2019 song "I Forgot That You Existed" she sings ... "And I couldn't get away from ya. In my feelings more than Drake, so yeah."

Maybe they'll be sharing their feelings together on the same track soon?!? 👀

FRANKEL TAKES A FALL

Bethenny Frankel might've been groovin' out a little too much on the roller rink in New York City ... getting into the music before taking a hard fall.

The philanthropist/entrepreneur was at the Rockefeller Center ice skating rink for the opening of Flipper's Roller Boogie Palace -- where it's transformed into a roller rink. It's all the rage again ... decades after roller skating was a thing.

Bethenny was dancing away while putting on lip gloss ... then falling butt-first on the floor. Luckily, someone was nearby to offer the former 'RHONY' star an assist.

The event was packed with celebs ... Usher hosted the opening, and fellow icons Mary J. Blige, Dr. Dre, Floyd Mayweather, and Meek Mill all laced up.

Bethenny's quite the talented skater, although ice is more her thing ... she was the runner-up on "Skating With The Stars" in 2010 -- making it all the way to the finale with her partner, professional skater Ethan Burgess.

Have a nice trip, Bethenny ... see ya next fall!!!

Benzino 50 Cent is 'the First 6ix9ine!!!' Brings Up 'Rat' Allegation 50's Denied

HE'S A RAT

Benzino says the bad outweighs the good when it comes to 50 Cent's track record in hip hop ... claiming when you talk "just the facts," the facts aren't great for Fiddy.

The former "Love & Hip Hop" star is the latest guest on the "It's Tricky With Raquel Harper" podcast, and he's addressing his 50 Cent beef head-on by strongly hinting he's about to drop a lawsuit on him and several others.

Then Benzino, who was co-owner of The Source, rips his nemesis, saying ... "He's the first 6ix9ine. Like, the first hip hop rat!!!"

As you know Tekashi 6ix9ine infamously snitched to the feds on fellow gang members to get a reduced sentence -- and Benzino's referencing an old allegation Fif ratted on former record exec Jimmy Henchman.

Waiting for your permission to load the Instagram Media.

Benzino even references federal "paperwork" allegedly signed by 50 that would prove he snitched -- a claim often repeated by Ja Rule and others at Murder Inc. Records.

However, 50 Cent's always denied this, and as TMZ first reported ... law enforcement sources told us those documents were fake.

Here's the odd part ... Benzino reminded Raq he went out of his way, back in 2000, to help 50 -- and possibly save his life -- when he got stabbed at Hit Factory studios.

Clearly, things have gone way south between them since then, and Benzino's not backing down.

Make sure to follow "It's Tricky with Raquel Harper" on Apple, Spotify, Google -- or wherever you get your podcasts -- so you never miss any of Raq's episodes.

Asian Doll to Erica Banks 'You Sound Dumb As F***!!!' Don't Put Your Nicki & Coi Issues On Me

Published

Erica Banks is on an island by herself after unloading on Nicki Minaj and the female rappers on her collabs -- Asian Doll is making sure she doesn't get dragged into the simmering feud.

The beef started sizzling when Erica – who earned a Gold plaque last year after her single "Buss It" blew up on TikTok – revealed on REVOLT's Big Facts podcast that Nicki blocked her on social media, because she feels the Queen Barbz prefers working with female rappers who lack lyrical skills.

When the Big Facts crew pressed Erica to name her peers who can't find bars, the Dallas native pleaded the Fifth ... which led the Internet to speculate it was yet another Coi Leray dig. She's been taking shots from every which way following Billboard's report she only sold 9,000 units for her debut album, "Trendsetter."

The album featured the colorful Nicki collaboration "Blick, Blick" ... which does have 15 million YouTube views, but clearly isn't helping move her album

When Coi got wind of Erica's shade, she reacted to the clip with a series of laughing emojis ... a much softer reaction than that of Asian Doll.

Erica's fellow Dallas native has also been vocal about her desire to work with Nicki, but in a fiery round of tweets, she shut down all association with Banks' salty remarks, and even went as far as to say she played herself.

As for Coi ... she's taking the wave of newfound attention in stride, and claiming her final sales figures were closer to 11.5 million.

Buss it.

Tekashi 6ix9ine I'm Flashing Fake Money in Videos ... 'I Ain't Got it,' Judge!!!

Published
DON'T START IF YOU CAN'T FINISH

Tekashi 6ix9ine is all flash and no cash ... at least that's what he wants a judge to believe, because he's claiming to be broke at the same time he's flaunting $2 mil on camera.

Hip-hop's most infamous heel was on "TMZ Live" Monday when he copped to using "prop money" in a recent video where he boasted he has more cash on hand than a rival rapper's net worth. Most people took it as a subliminal shot at Fivio Foreign, though 6ix9ine never says his name.

041522_6ix9ine_kal 4/14/22
RETURN OF THE KING

All that money flew in the face of Tekashi telling a judge he's broke.

He still owes $1 million to robbery victims in the criminal case where he snitched on ex-friends to get a reduced sentence.

Claiming he's faking his riches because, "I'm an entertainer," won't help Tekashi's street cred -- but, to that point, he also told us he doesn't get why everyone blames him for ongoing beefs with Fivio, Lil Durk and others.

In his new music video for "Gine," 6ix9ine calls out Durk over the murder of King Von -- one of Durk's closest friends. It's a brazen and cold-hearted line, for sure.

Yet, Tekashi says everyone's got it wrong ... claiming he's not the one stoking the flames and -- love him or hate him -- he's just trying to finish the feuds others have started with him.

Mac Miller Drug Dealer Gets 11 Years in Prison

Published | Updated

One of the drug dealers who supplied fentanyl-laced pills to Mac Miller just received his sentence after copping a plea last year -- and he's going to prison for a long time.

Ryan Reavis will be behind bars for 10 years and 11 months after pleading guilty in November to one count of distributing fentanyl. The sentence is longer than what Reavis himself had asked for -- 5 years -- but shorter than the 12.5 years prosecutors were gunning for.

Remember ... the feds say Reavis supplied the deadly oxycodone pills to Mac's alleged drug dealer, Cameron Pettit ... on orders from Stephen Walter, who also recently pled guilty to distributing fentanyl. Reavis said in court Monday that he was just a middle man.

More importantly ... he claimed he had no idea that the pills he was supplying were counterfeit. Despite this, the judge seemed to have dished out an even-handed sentence -- but not before hearing a statement from MM's mother, Karen Meyers.

It read, in part ... "He would never knowingly take a pill with fentanyl, ever. He wanted to live and was excited about the future. The hole in my heart will always be there." In other words, she insisted the alleged dealers/suppliers in this case were solely responsible for his perish.

As we reported ... Reavis was first arrested back in 2019 out in Arizona -- where authorities say they found a bogus doctor's notepad, from which he presumably filled prescriptions. They also claimed they found firearms and drugs ... including prescription-only pills and marijuana.

So, just to keep track ... Reavis (the alleged supplier) is the first out of three men charged who's received his sentence. Walter (the alleged runner) hasn't officially learned his fate yet ... neither has Pettit (the alleged dealer,) whose case is still pending.

Kendrick Lamar Take it From Me, and Only Me ... Drops New Album Name!!!

Published | Updated

Kendrick Lamar just turned the hip hop world upside down with a single Instagram post --.a platform he hardly ever uses, but this time it was to reveal some gigantic news.

The rap megastar has been keeping an extremely low profile in preparation for his final album on Top Dawg Entertainment and now, we not only have a name but an actual release date to expect new music!

It appears King Kunta has settled on the album title "Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers" ... with an expected release date of May 13.

The self-explanatory statement was posted on pgLang letterhead, the music imprint he runs with his longtime friend/manager Dave Free. In the brief message, Kendrick is adamant he will be the only source for information regarding the album.

Waiting for your permission to load the Instagram Media.

After launching in 2020, all appears to be going well: pgLang's flagship artist, Baby Keem, just took home a Grammy for Best Rap Performance for the Kendrick duet, "Family Ties."

K Dot is coming fresh off the still-buzzing Super Bowl LVI Halftime show opposite legends, Dr. Dre, Eminem, Snoop Dogg and Mary J. Blige. Spotify numbers following the performance revealed he saw a 250% increase in his 2015 "Alright" streams — and that was just one song.

With so much talk about artists not sustaining an audience due to low streams and sales, Kendrick could ignite a jolt in rap, much like he's done several before.

We'll all know for sure come May 13.

Moneybagg Yo Gifts Morant Iced-Out BGC Chain ... Here's Yo Trophy!!!

Published | Updated

Moneybagg Yo kept his word to ice-out Ja Morant with a Bread Gang Chain ... and gave it to the Memphis Grizzlies star after Game 1 of the NBA Playoffs!

As we previously reported, the Memphis rapper and Morant have been cool since last season ... and Moneybagg Yo copped a diamond BGC chain last week for the NBA All-Star.

"Come get yo trophy" Moneybagg Yo said last week. "Proud of ya bra #Big12."

It seems Ja didn't have much time to go get his gift with the playoffs starting ... so Big Bagg pulled up.

You can see the "Time Today" rapper sitting courtside at the Timberwolves-Grizzlies game on Saturday at FedExForum ... and Yo gave Morant the BGC pendant right on the court after the game.

FYI, the Grizzlies actually lost after the T'Wolves beat them 130-117 ... and one fan questioned Moneybagg why he would still give Morant the new bling if he took a L.

"U have to except yo losses like u do yo winnings," the 30-year-old rapper said.

"Either way, it go he a champ to me. He been putting on for our city regardless."

The 22-year-old guard did go off in Game 1 with 32 points and the 2nd overall pick in the 2019 draft has led the Grizzlies to their second consecutive playoff appearance.

For Memphis' sake, here's hoping the new bling will give the Grizz some momentum Tuesday's game 2.
