With the Ray Rice sweepstakes officially underway, rapper The Game tells TMZ Sports he would LOVE to see RR on his favorite squad ... the 49ers ... but there's one big caveat.

Game -- rockin' a pretty freaky masquerade ball mask -- was leaving his birthday party at the Supper Club in Hollywood Friday night when he explained why San Fran could benefit from #27.

But while Game says he's happy to see Rice reinstated -- there are 2 big things that could get in the way of the 9ers bringing the running back to S.F.

Steve Young ... Jerry Rice ... Teri Hatcher -- they ALL have rings from Super Bowl XXIX -- even though one of them wasn't actually on the team.

The former "Lois & Clark" star WAS a cheerleader for the 49ers back in 1984 ... but in the video, she explains why she was allowed to enjoy the spoils of victory when the team beat the Chargers 10 years later.

FYI -- Teri just returned from NY where she gave a speech to the U.N. about eliminating domestic violence -- and encouraged people to wear orange ... the official color to unite women against D.V.

San Francisco 49ers defensive end Ray McDonald will not be charged with a crime for allegedly beating up his pregnant fiancee ... after cops say the victim refused to cooperate.

McDonald was originally arrested on August 31st on suspicion of felony domestic abuse after an incident at the NFL star's San Jose home.

According to the police report, the victim had "visible injuries" ... and an unidentified person who called 911 told authorities McDonald was "hitting her" and "trying to pull her out of the house."

But apparently, the Santa Clara District Attorney felt there was not enough evidence to convict McDonald -- and today announced no charges will be filed against the 30-year-old.

"Conflicting versions of the event, a lack of verifiable eyewitnesses and a significant lack of cooperation from Jane Doe, we cannot prove a crime occurred," a spokesperson for the Santa Clara D.A.'s office said.

"In this particular case, there were particular pieces of information missing ... We really don't know what happened between the two parties."

The fitness model who reportedly hooked up with Colin Kaepernick is now rumored to be messin' around with Trey Songz ... and Trey isn't exactly denying it.

The woman in the mix is Brittany Renner -- the self-proclaimed leader of the "Fit Thick Army" -- which has become a social media battle cry for ultra-fit women who embrace their curves.

So, when we saw Trey out in Hollywood this week -- we had to ask how he felt about Ms. Fit Thick ... and he responded with high praise.

He also had a chance to put the rumors to rest ... but didn't.

Which begs the question -- they bangin' or what?

Another "iCarly" star has a thing for a HUGE celebrity athlete -- this time, it's Miranda Cosgrove who tells TMZ Sports she thinks Colin Kaepernick is the hottest QB in the NFL.

The 21-year-old actress -- who plays Carly on the Nickelodeon show -- was rockin' her 49ers shirt through LAX yesterday when she told us Kap's not only attractive ... but he's "doing amazing" this season.

They've got a lot in common -- starting with the fact they're both super rich ... because Miranda (who also starred in "School of Rock" back in the day) was listed as the highest paid child actress in 2012. And Colin just signed a $126 million contract.

Of course, Miranda isn't the first "iCarly" star to show interest in a pro athlete -- last year, Jennette McCurdy dated NBA star Andre Drummond for a short time ... but that fizzled pretty quickly.

SF 49ers superstar Vernon Davis has SURVIVED ELIMINATION ... 'cause his superhero short film made it from the Final 20 to the Final 10 in HBO's "Project Greenlight" competition.

As we previously reported, Davis plays the title character in the comedy/action flick "Captain Torpedo" ... and if it WINS "Project Greenlight," the movie's director will get to helm a full-length Hollywood feature film.

The good news for Davis (an aspiring actor) -- the director LOVES him ... and if he wins, he's vowed to include Davis in the cast.

The competition started with hundreds of films ... it was narrowed to 200 ... then to 20 ... now it's at the final 10. And the winner will be announced in November.

Colin Kaepernick is coming out swingin' against allegations he knocked up self-proclaimed fitness model Brittany Renner ... and he's using a rap song to shoot down the claims.

The pregnancy talk started when Brittany went to her Instagram page and wrote that she was "preggers" by the SF 49ers quarterback.

Brittany and Colin reportedly hooked up back in July -- and she even posted pics to her Instagram appearing to show Colin hanging out at her place.

So when she posted the "preggers" thing -- people thought there could be some truth to it.

But clearly, Colin ain't buyin' it ... 'cause moments ago, he went to Instagram and posted the album cover for a rap song called "STOP LYIN'" ... and included the caption, "We just goin call this my anthem now! Keep trying."

He made no specific mention of Brittany -- but, c'mon ... doesn't take a rocket scientist to understand what he's talking about.

Police went to Ray McDonald's house back in May ... when a woman pulled a gun on a man in the San Francisco 49er's house.

San Jose cops just released an incident report describing the altercation between an "engaged couple" on the evening of May 25th. According to the doc ...while the couple was arguing the woman grabbed a firearm and held it at her side. The man then told her he was going to call 911 -- and she ran out of the house.

Cops say the woman did not make any threats or point the gun at her fiance. The report doesn't mention McDonald's name.

McDonald was arrested in August by San Jose police for a felony domestic violence incident involving his pregnant fiancee. The 49ers have said McDonald will remain active while he goes through the legal process.

Forget protein bars or power shakes or a pasta carb-loading ... Jerry Rice tells TMZ Sports he used to take the field on an EMPTY STOMACH.

Seriously, kinda crazy considering how dominant he was -- but #80 swears he never scarfed down any food before a game.

Rice was just out in NYC -- nicest guy ever btw -- and we chatted about food, TD dances and hecklers.

A superhero movie featuring NFL superstar Vernon Davis in the title role is a FINALIST for HBO's "Project Greenlight" show ... TMZ Sports has learned.

As we previously reported, the San Francisco 49ers star played Captain Torpedo in a recently produced short film by French Mustache ... a comedy production company.

In the 2 minute and 4 second flick, Captain Torpedo finds himself in a tough situation ... being held captive by a deranged military guy with an inconsistent accent.

SPOILER ALERT: The Capt. takes a slug to the dome.

Turns out, the head producer behind the flick decided to enter the movie into the HBO competition -- famously started by Ben Affleck and Matt Damon -- and the movie made it all the way to the final 20.

FYI -- the previous round contained 200 movies!

If "Captain Torpedo" wins (based on voting on the official website with ends on 9/26), the filmmaker will get the chance to direct a real-life feature film.

It's huge for Davis -- considering the producers LOOOVE him and believe he can be a major Hollywood star one day. In fact, one of the producers tells us, "This is not the last we will see of Vernon Davis."

San Francisco 49ers defensive lineman Ray McDonald was arrested early Sunday morning on allegations of felony domestic violence.

Police in San Jose, CA tell TMZ Sports ... McDonald was arrested at his home at around 3:00 AM. No other details were known.

Colin Kaepernick's giant new tattoo took 27 long painful hours to complete -- over 3 days -- with one of the top celebrity tattoo artists in L.A. wielding the needle ... TMZ Sports has learned.

As we previously reported, Colin recently had biblical imagery symbolizing "money is the root of all evil" tatted on his left torso. Now, we've learned the guy who applied the tat is Carlos Torres of Timeline Gallery tattoo shop in L.A. ... an artist who's worked on huge stars like 50 Cent and Nas.

Torres tells TMZ Sports ... Colin initially reached out on Instagram to inquire about a session, after being referred through a friend.

"He sent me a drawing of his idea ... There was a lot going on so I simplified it. Not every piece of art makes a great tattoo, so I refined it so it'd be a great tattoo. But Colin came up with the concept."

Torres explains ... "We did three sittings. They were each eight, nine hours long. The side of the ribs are a painful area, but Colin laid there like a rock."

Torres wouldn't tell us how much Colin paid for the art work, but says he usually runs around $250 per hour ... and he still has a few hours of work left before Colin's tat is complete. So, figure CK's total bill will run upwards of $7,500.

SF 49ers star Patrick Willis knows what he likes ... CHICKS IN THONGS ... and he went after it hard on a beach vacation to Australia.

Willis -- along with former NFL linebackers Takeo Spikes and Carlos Emmons -- are on a boys trip Down Under and decided to go searchin' for ass on Bondi Beach.

Good news -- they found it.

While Willis was able to pull off the 2-on-1 all by himself, Spikes and Emmons teamed up to chat up two other thong'd up ladies who were catchin' some rays.

Jonathan Martin's nightmare in Miami is finally over ... the alleged bullying victim has been just been traded to the 49ers, his agent has confirmed to TMZ Sports ... and J-Mart couldn't be happier.

We spoke with Martin's agent Kenny Zuckerman ... who tells us, "Jonathan's really excited. He's up at Stanford now. That's where he went to school. The 49ers are in his backyard."

Martin will be reunited with his old college coach Jim Harbaugh -- who's the head coach of the 49ers.

As for Martin's alleged tormentor Richie Incognito, still no word on his future in the NFL.

7:43 PM PT -- TMZ Sports also spoke with 49ers offensive lineman Adam Snyder who tells us he thinks the team is a great fit for Martin.

"It's a great new opportunity for him. He's coming in to a great group of guys, specifically the offensive line."

When asked if Martin will be treated with kid gloves due to the situation in Miami, Snyder shot that down -- saying, "We're gonna treat him like any other free agent that comes into our locker room."

As for his opinion on the trade -- Snyder says, "If he can help us win a Super Bowl, I'm all for it."

8:00 PM PT -- Dolphins GM Dennis Hickey issued a statement saying, “We feel that this move is in the best interests of all parties involved. We wish Jonathan well.”

Send out the coroner ... because Cam Newton and Colin Kaepernick completely murdered the Katy Perry song "Roar" last night ... and it's absolutely HILARIOUS!!

The NFL superstars co-hosted the "Hall of Game Awards" on Cartoon Network ... and at the beginning of the show, they had some goofy banter about who should have been the MAIN host of the event.

That's when Cam grabs the mic and busts out his best tone-def version of the pop song ... and Colin followed suit.

The best part ... Colin screws up some of the lyrics and the kids actually BOO.
