"Boyhood" star Patricia Arquette and her son are being dragged into her ex's ugly divorce trial ... and it sounds like they're solidly on his side.

Back in the late '80s, Arquette gave birth to Enzo -- now 26 -- with then boyfriend, musician Paul Rossi. But similar to the movie ... he split when Enzo was just a month old and remained a present father.

Fast forward to the divorce ... estranged wife Kerry-Ann Johnston-Rossi claims in court docs Rossi is verbally abusive, threatening, and she lives in constant fear. Rossi has fired back that she's a liar, and that's why he's calling Patricia and Enzo to testify on his behalf ... as character witnesses.

The docs say Patricia/Enzo will testify about Rossi's "parenting abilities, lack of any violent or angry tendencies." And according to the docs, Patricia may have harsh words for Kerry-Ann ... regarding her "parenting abilities, her anger and/or violent tendencies."

The trial is set for March. Nothing like having a possible Oscar winner in your corner.

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon have a prenup with a confidentiality clause ... and if she blabs out of school she gets socked for twice what he'd have to pay if he violates it.

Sources familiar with the situation tell TMZ ... if Nick violates the confidentiality clause he has to pay her a $250,000 penalty, but if she spills the beans she has to pay him $500K.

And the prenup makes it clear ... Mariah came into the marriage with a boatload of money ... Nick, not so much.

The prenup says Mariah is worth $150 million ... she has so much, $30 million is listed as "miscellaneous." Nick came into the marriage in 2008 with a little less than $500K.

He's done well since then, making millions on his various projects, but when they married he ended up buying her engagement ring for $500,000 but took a loan out for $470K. The ring was reportedly worth $2.5 mil, but that's not what he paid.

Travis Barker and Shanna Moakler were handcuffed and thrown in the back of squad cars for making criminal threats against each other ... she claimed he threatened to kill her, and he claimed
she threatened him right back.

It happened last month, but we just got the legal docs. On December 7, the two got into a verbal fight over a reality show Travis wants to do with their 2 kids. It's surprising, but the former couple STILL live under the same roof.

According to the docs -- which were filed by Shanna so the family could be evaluated for a possible custody change -- Travis said, "If I could, I'd put a bullet in your head." She then called the cops, who came to their L.A. home. Travis then told cops Shanna threatened to have her boyfriend come and beat him up.

They were then both cuffed, arrested and taken to the station.

Shanna told cops things have gotten extremely bad between the two of them. She said he would say to her, "F*** you bitch,' calling her a "f***ing piece of garbage and calling her "a cigarette smoking, coke-snorting bitch." She also has an email in which he said, "My poor kids have a whore for a mom."

Shanna says the drummer's erratic behavior started after the 2008 plane crash -- she claims he was suffering from mood swings while weaning off pain meds.

Sources tell TMZ ... charges will not be filed against either one. But, we've learned, The L.A. County Dept. of Children and Family Services was contacted and they are investigating.

Detroit Lions wide receiver Golden Tate says he DID NOT have sexual relations with Russell Wilson's wife ... despite rumors to the contrary ... and he claims the Seahawks QB knows it.

Of course, Wilson and his wife Ashton split up back in April -- and there were rumblings that it all had to do with an alleged affair involving one of Russell's Seattle Seahawks teammates.

Golden -- who played with Seattle at the time --signed with Detroit a short time later ... fueling the rumors.

But now Tate is denying everything in a statement posted on TheCauldron -- writing:

"I did not have an affair with Russell Wilson’s wife, nor did I have anything to do with his divorce."

"That is laughable for anyone who knows us. His ex-wife, Ashton, is still best friends with my girlfriend."

"Russell and I were good friends when I was in Seattle, on and off the field — he knows the rumors about me were unfounded, damaging to my reputation, and an attack on my character."

In fact, Golden's GF posted a pic with Ashton just 4 months ago (pic below).

As for Russell, the details surrounding the split were kept super quiet. Neither he nor Ashton have talked about why they broke up.

Nick Cannon beat Mariah Carey to the courthouse ... we've learned he has quietly filed for divorce.

The timing is interesting. We found out Nick filed papers December 12. The date is relevant because on December 2, Mariah showed up 3 hours late to tape a segment for the NBC tree-lighting special.

At the time we posted a story ... Mariah was on the phone with her lawyers going over the terms of her property settlement. That syncs up with Nick filing papers a week later, after they hashed out a deal.

Short story ... Mariah has completely detached Nick from her new, very lucrative deal in Vegas.

She lived the Gucci lifestyle before the divorce ... and now Byron Scott's wife is demanding the Gucci lifestyle AFTER the split too -- telling a judge the Lakers coach needs to pay up so she can continue to live like a BOSS!

We broke the story ... Byron filed for divorce from his college sweetheart Anita Scott last year after 29 years of marriage -- right before he signed a $17 million contract with the Lakers.

But Anita says they were living large way before the Lakers gig -- and in new court docs obtained by TMZ Sports, she spells out why Scott needs to open up his checkbook.

BALLER VACATIONS
-- The Bahamas. Once a year. First class airfare. Suites at top-rated resorts. Oh, and they'd often pay for additional family members to join along.

Anita says she needs spousal support asap, since she doesn't have a job and is living in a cramped 3 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom condo in Culver City which is "not comparable to the lavish and spacious homes we purchased during the marriage."

Bruce Jenner looked mighty unhappy Wednesday ... after "In Touch" ran a cover story with a Photoshopped pic and a caption touting his life as a woman.

Jenner was tooling around Calabasas, smoking a cig, as he pondered whatever was on his mind.

Our Bruce sources tell us he doesn't care what the tabloids say about him, but it must have been hard to avoid seeing the cover.

As for Kris, she says the magazine was mean, whether or not its story had any foothold on the truth.

Stephen Collins claims his bitter ex-wife was out for blood and caused the now-famous audio recording to be leaked ... the audio in which Collins confesses to child molestation.

Collins -- who was in court Wednesday along with estranged wife Faye Grant -- says in new legal docs Grant put his stuff in trash bags and put them in the driveway of their Brentwood home for pickup by the V.A. He says the audiotape was inside one of the bags and labeled, "Stephen Collins/predator."

Collins claims it was all part of her "devious design" to get the tape out without directly releasing it. He says he foiled her plot by getting a P.I. to retrieve the bags before they were picked up.

The actor says he believes TMZ got the audio via Grant, either directly or indirectly. She denies it.

The judge in the divorce case has ordered them to meet next week to try and settle the case, but hizzoner made it clear he fully expects a full trial next month.

Kris Jenner is telling close friends ... she's outraged at "In Touch" for photoshopping a pic of ex-hubby Bruce Jenner on the cover with all the female fixin's.

The cover is shocking ... Bruce has never said he's going down the road to change his sex, but the cover reads that way. Kris is telling friends, "It's just mean to do whether or not it's true."

Her reaction is interesting and somewhat equivocal, but she's saying she has contempt for the mag jumping to conclusions and then altering the image to fit its story.

As for Bruce ... one of his close friends just told us, "He doesn't even pay attention to this stuff."

Stephen Collins' divorce trial is set to begin next month ... but first the judge wants to hash out as many details as possible -- and you can be sure his child molestation admissions will be one of them.

Collins and his estranged wife Faye Grant were in a L.A. court Wednesday for the start of divorce proceedings. The judge set Feb. 9 for a trial date.

Next week, both sides will meet for a settlement conference -- basically, one last chance for them to reach agreement on issues in their divorce before the trial begins.

One of those hot topics -- Collins' claim the molestation controversy has cost him work, so he's making less money ... and can't afford to pay Grant. She wants her share of their assets protected in case he gets sued by one of the victims.

Now we know what Nick Cannon was saying about in his new song referencing Mariah Carey ... He's actually talking about a text ... and not what it sounded like.

It sounded like he said "I got a check," referring to his soon-to-be ex-wife. But someone involved in the production tells us he says "text" and not "check."

Nick does brag he gets an A in the bedroom ... rapping he makes Mariah hit the high notes.

Nick, producer Mally Mall and rapper's French Montana and Too Short were at a Hollywood strip club Sunday shooting the video for the song, and we got Nick's verse on cam. So it's a little hard to make out, but here's what we think he says:

Matt Lauer says he and Giada De Laurentiis never banged ... and reports saying otherwise are flat-out false.

Lauer was heading out of the LAX Saturday when he put the rumors to rest ... telling a photog the reason they've been spotted together in the past was only due to their long-time friendship.

Matt -- who was cool as a cucumber, even in the rain -- was unequivocal about the bogus story. Giada has also said the story was made up.

The "Today" anchor feels bad about what Giada's going through .... her husband has filed for divorce.

Lauer did give us a scare ... it looked like he was getting on the Hertz Shuttle.

Nicholas Sparks and his wife may have announced their separation this week, but they are so far down the road to divorce she's already bought her own house ... TMZ has learned.

Catherine became the owner of a $1.1 million mansion on December 9. It's 2 1/2 miles from the Sparks family home, which makes sense ... they have 5 kids together. The house sits on 4 acres of lakefront property.

As TMZ reported ... Nicholas and Catherine signed a "postmarital agreement" back in August, which indicates they have reached a property settlement deal. They both waived their right to alimony.

Turns out famed author Nicholas Sparks didn't suddenly decide this week to end his 25-year marriage ... it looks like the deed was done months ago, and there are BIG financial repercussions.

TMZ has obtained a "postmarital agreement" filed by "The Notebook" author and wife Catherine back in August. They agreed neither would seek alimony from the other.

They acknowledge neither has a claim on the assets the other accumulates after their separation.

What's pretty clear is this ... they seem way more than "separated," which is what they told People. The document was signed after a quarter century of marriage, and it seems obvious ... Nicholas and Catherine decided last Summer their marriage was over.

Here's what it smells like ... they worked out a property settlement agreement and Catherine got a big chunk of change.

Famed author Nicholas Sparks has separated from his wife after 25 years of marriage.

"The Notebook" author told People, "This is, of course, not a decision we've made lightly. We remain close friends with deep respect for each other and love for our children."

The Sparks have 3 sons and twin daughters, between the ages of 12 and 23.

The language, "we remain close friends" sounds like more than a separation.

We checked and so far there's no evidence anyone has filed legal docs to end the marriage.

Lil Wayne's baby mama Toya Wright is about to be single once again ... because TMZ has learned she's separated from music producer hubby Memphitz ... and they're now living 2,500 miles apart.

According to our sources, Wright (who has a kid with former husband Lil Wayne) and Memphitz have been having big problems ... Memphitz recently moved to LA, leaving her behind in ATL.

We're told Memphitz -- who appeared with Toya on the BET reality show "Toya: A Family Affair" -- no longer wanted to be part of a "celebrity marriage." For him, it's now all about career.

The couple has been married since 2011. Neither side has filed for divorce yet ... but we're told Memphitz will let Toya file the papers. He's made it clear ... reconciliation is NOT in the cards.

As for rumors Memphitz knocked another woman up, not so ... apparently he had a vasectomy years ago.
