Miley Cyrus and Cody Simpson grabbed an early-night bite -- and a kiss too -- before hitting up Universal Studios for some scares ... a pit stop that ended up costing Cody a bundle.

The singer was out Saturday night with her new Australian beau and a bunch of friends checking out this year's Halloween Horror Nights. But before they even got there, we're told the group of about 10 stopped off for some Mexican chow at Casa Vega in Sherman Oaks.

Sources who were present tell TMZ that when it came time to pay the bill, one of Miley's pals tried paying ... but we're told Cody sneakily slipped his card to the waiter instead.

All told ... our sources say the entire meal ended up running him about $1,000. Him paying might explain the smooch Miley planted on him before everyone headed out.

Not long after, Miley and the gang made their way to Universal City, where Miley rocked what appears to be a sexy cop costume, while CS opted for something a little more caj.

The whole posse posed for pics as they made their way around the park, hitting up different haunted mazes no doubt. Gotta say, Cody probably scored some major BF points that night.

Lindsay Lohan doubled down on what we'd already heard -- that her apparent dig at Cody Simpson and Miley Cyrus was much ado about nothing ... and nothing more than jest.

We got LiLo out Friday in NYC where we asked her to clarify her since-deleted Instagram post that seemed to shade both Miley and Cody ... in which she implied Cody had "failed" and "settle[d] for less" by dumping her sister, Aliana, to be with Miley.

Lindsay also said that he may have won 'The Masked Singer,' but had lost at life. She quickly took down the post after putting it up, but it had gotten screenshot and spread around.

The 'Masked Singer' jab stems from her time as a judge on the Australian version of the show, when she called him out for left-behind furniture she'd bought him, and wanted back.

Hitting the point home, she said ... "If it is you, we have a lot to talk about, and this is not the arena for it. I want my furniture back! Because I bought your furniture for your house in Venice!" While jokey, Lindsay also sounded somewhat serious about her demand.

Well ... we'd spoken with sources close to Lindsay, who told us she was only kidding around and that her IG post was merely an inside joke. She confirmed that with us here on camera, saying it was, in fact, a joke ... and that she loves Miley and thinks Cody's a great guy.

Dennis Quaid's tapping into the fountain of youth, or at least a very youthFUL girlfriend ... and they hit the beach, flaunting ripped physiques -- and a nearly 40 year age difference.

We're told the two women "got along like a house on fire," and before long they were living together ... and there was even talk of marriage.

Jeremy Meeks has moved on from Chloe Green ... or so it seems.

Jeremy showed up at Catch Friday night in WeHo, and opened the car door on the passenger side like a curtain at a Broadway play, revealing what appears to be his new chick.

Her name -- Erica Peeples, an actress who's appeared in Netflix's "True to the Game" and 'Law and Order.' Erica says she's also a DJ, a poet and a producer.

They were inside the restaurant for 2 1/2 hours and, on the way out, Jeremy proudly introduced Erica to our photog.

It's a little weird ... just last Sunday we got Jeremy out and he insisted he's still with Chloe, the mother of one of his children. They were engaged, but it seems like that's history.

Britney Spears looked like she wanted to be anywhere else after she arrived with her boyfriend to the Daytime Beauty Awards, so after a few photos ... she was outtie.

Britney and Sam Asghari showed up to the awards show Friday looking stylish as they got out of their SUV, but as they walked up to take pics it appeared Brit immediately grew uncomfortable.

After a few seconds of cameras clicking and flashing, Spears said to her publicist ... "I just want to go."

She stuck around for a few more shots and forced smiles, but seemed to be urging Sam to keep moving ... until she finally had enough and said she was leaving.

Asghari -- who's being honored for Outstanding Achievement in Fitness -- had to reverse his course and walk her back to their SUV, where she got in and left.

Of course, this comes in the midst of a family showdown in court over Britney's conservatorship. As we told you ... a "fireworks show" was expected this week, but as of now things are still up in air.

Reality (TV) doesn't get much better than this -- Scheana Shay and DeMario Jackson bringing their two franchises together with some lovin' at the Mouse House.

The "Vanderpump Rules" star and the former 'Bachelorette'/'BiP' contestant were spotted canoodling Tuesday at Disney California Adventure in Anaheim, where they were showing off some pretty significant PDA as they went ride-hopping with a few 'VPR' pals.

DeMario ('memba him?!) had his arms wrapped around Scheana a few different times throughout the day, and she seemed pretty down. Of course, it could all be for show.

Remember, DeMario was spotted with Corinne Olympios at Disnyeland a couple years ago after their 'BiP' scandal ... when she all but insinuated he'd violated her. It looked like they were romantically linked, but we were told otherwise ... just friends, apparently.

That whole thing is well behind us at this point, and DeMario and Corinne remained cool since then. Now, it looks like he's found a good match from across channels.

Diddy and Lori Harvey's whirlwind summer romance just wrapped its Mexican leg, and it looks like it was a very successful vacay, and by that we mean ... they're doing a lot of belly rubbing!

The Bad Boy honcho and Steve Harvey's daughter arrived at the Cabo San Lucas airport Sunday on their way back stateside. Cabo was just the latest hot getaway for the couple -- remember, they were just in Italy along with her dad.

Jerry Rice's daughter says Julian Edelman was a great prom date and a lovely boyfriend ... but she tells TMZ Sports her ultra-famous father wasn't so hot on the guy ...

"My dad wasn't always the nicest to him," Jaqui Rice says ... "But, I mean, I guess that's understandable because he's my dad, you know?"

33-year-old Julian grew up in the same Northern California neighborhood as Jerry in the 1990s ... and, turns out, he and the G.O.A.T.'s daughter had a thing for each other.

Jaqui joined the guys on the "TMZ Sports" TV show (airing weeknights on FS1) to explain it all ... and says, "This goes a while back. I've known Julian since we were kids."

"He played Pop Warner football, I was a Pop Warner cheerleader."

Jaqui says she and Julian dated -- and didn't just go to prom together -- but went to several other school dances ... despite not going to the same high school!!

As for how Jerry felt about the young Edelman ... Jaqui says the two didn't always have the most friendly relationship, telling the guys, "I think [Julian] was a little intimidated by my dad growing up."

Good news for everybody? Julian has seemed to have grown on Jerry -- the two attended the Kentucky Derby together back in 2017, and Jerry posted a cool pic with the Patriots star.

As for Jaqui and Julian, their romantic relationship didn't make it much further than high school ...  but she says she still considers Edelman a good friend!

By the way, Jaqui is helping her pops launch a new energy drink called G.O.A.T. FUEL ... and ya gotta hear why she says the stuff is going to change the energy drink game.

Genie Bouchard might've left the U.S. Open in defeat -- but she's definitely winning back home at the beach with none other than Hannah Davis' hunky big brother.

The Canadian tennis star -- who got knocked out of the U.S. Open in the first round a couple weeks ago -- was seen cuddling up with Connor Davis Jr. Sunday in Miami. He's directly related to the model who's now married to Derek Jeter. Worlds are colliding!!!

YG and Kehlani kept their relationship under wraps for months before finally going public this week ... but she's NOT the reason he's no longer with the woman who recently gave birth to his child.

Sources close to the couple tell TMZ ... YG separated from his baby mama, Catelyn Sparks, BEFORE he got into a relationship with Kehlani, and all parties are cool with how things played out.

YG's baby mama gave birth to their second child in July ... and we're told the rapper will still provide for both kids and their mother, at least financially.

As we reported ... YG and Kehlani confirmed they're dating Thursday night, making their first public appearance together as they strolled hand in hand into a show for New York Fashion Week.

Kehlani actually became a mother herself back in March ... but she's never been in a romantic relationship with the father, who happens to be her guitarist. Nevertheless, they've decided to co-parent.
