TMZ broke the story ... the '80s rocker was pulled over in L.A. at around 8 last night ... and when officers approached his vehicle, they smelled booze.

Law enforcement sources tell us Rick's blood alcohol level was .10 -- exceeding California's .08 legal limit.

Springfield was taken to a nearby jail ... where he was booked and released on his own recognizance.

According to law enforcement, the 61-year-old singer was pulled over by the L.A. County Sheriff's Dept. around 8:00 PM for a traffic violation. When officers approached the vehicle, they noticed the smell of booze and asked Springfield to perform several field sobriety tests.

We're told Springfield performed poorly on the sobriety tests -- and was arrested on suspicion of DUI.

Law enforcement sources tell us Rick's blood alcohol content was measured at .10 and .08. The legal limit in California is .08.

Springfield was taken to a nearby jail -- where he was booked and released on his own recognizance.

According to reports, Lowe was pulled over by state patrol at around 10:00 PM and police say troopers smelled alcohol. Lowe refused a sobriety test and was taken into custody and the Porsche he was driving was impounded.

Lowe was charged with DUI, reckless driving and an improper lane change.

He was released early this morning after posting bail of $2,944.

Lowe is best known for his performance in the 2004 playoffs, where he became the first pitcher in history to win the final game of three postseason series while a member of the Boston Red Sox.

The L.A. County District Attorney has officially rejected the case against Rutler -- citing insufficient evidence to prosecute for driving under the influence of alcohol.

Law enforcement sources tell us ... Rulter's blood alcohol content was ultimately determined to be .06 at the time of his arrest ... which falls safely under California's legal limit to operate a vehicle, .08.

As TMZ first reported, Aguilera was a passenger in the car that morning ... and was arrested for public drunkenness when officers determined she was too hammered to take care of herself.

The rapper stopped by a place called The Lounge for their "Hip Hop Thursday" event -- where he performed three songs, including "Gangster's Paradise" ... and we're told, he could barely speak the words.

Lounge owner Bryan Bell tells us, "Coolio was completely hammered ... a trainwreck, he was totally vulgar and completely incoherent and I did not want to be there for it” -- adding, “This is not what the Lounge does. This is not what we do at our club."

According to the report, the arresting officer asked Elena to recite the alphabet -- and she responded, "A B C D E F G A B C H I D J K L M NO P Q R S T U V X W Z." Yes, that's 29 letters.

It got worse from there -- the report continues, claiming Elena also couldn't count back from 100-80 ... counting, "100 99 98 97 96 (PAUSE) 94 96 95 94 93 92 91 90 ... 80 89 88 87 86 85 84 83 82 81 80."

According to WDIV in Detroit, Elena -- currently the head of global marketing at Ford -- ran the curb and drove onto the median ... before eventually swerving back into traffic.

Police confirm Elena was pulled over -- and she failed a field sobriety test. Her 11-year-old son was in the car with her at the time.

Ford's attorney released a statement saying, "Ms. Ford recognizes that this is a very serious matter, and she expresses her deepest apologies for the embarrassment this has caused her family and others around her."

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... highway patrol in Grand Forks found Angle sitting in his car in the median separating lanes. We're told Angle told cops he had hit an icy patch in the road. During the conversation, cops say they smelled alcohol on Angle's breath. He failed a field sobriety test and was arrested.

Since cops didn't see Angle driving, he was arrested and later charged with being in control of a motor vehicle while intoxicated -- which basically means he was allegedly drunk behind the wheel but not actually driving.

Jowett pled no contest to driving drunk in West Hollywood back in January -- on the night her show premiered.

TMZ has learned Jowett was ordered to three years probation, must attend alcohol education classes and will have to pay hundreds of dollars in penalties in fines.

But Jowett isn't happy with the deal at all -- telling us, "I can't believe it ... i thought they'd drop [the case]."

Watts was busted at 1:30 AM in Hollywood and was booked into jail in Van Nuys at 4:07 AM. She is currently being held on $15,000 bail.

Watts worked at WNBC in New York for several years, was a correspondent for "Inside Edition," and hosted her own talk show, "The Rolanda Show." According to her website, she currently hosts an Internet talk show, called “A BraveHearTView.”

She joins Christina Aguilera's boyfriend Matthew Rutler and Oakland A's outfielder Coco Crisp on the list of celebs popped for DUI this week.

The Oakland A's outfielder -- who's in AZ for Cactus League spring training -- was pulled over by Scottsdale PD while driving his 2009 Rolls Royce Phantom.

The A's tell TMZ, Coco "was arrested and detained early this morning under the suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol."

Team officials say Coco got out of jail this morning and showed up on time for pregame drills.

The A's didn't mention what, if any, disciplinary action Coco would face.

BTW -- A couple weeks ago Coco was in Los Angeles hanging with Charlie Sheen. It's not what you think though ... just a little batting practice.

UPDATE: Cops say Coco was stopped after officers noticed him "failing to stay in one lane of traffic."

Cops say, "After the stop, the officer observed signs of intoxication on the driver. After Mr. Crisp agreed to, and performed field sobriety tests, he was arrested without further incident."

Cops say ... Aguilera was a passenger in a car driven by Matthew Rutler when officers noticed he was driving erratically around 2:45 AM ... so they pulled the vehicle over.

Officers determined Rutler was drunk and arrested him for misdemeanor DUI.

Cops say the deputies determined Aguilera was also "extremely intoxicated" ... and since she was unable to care for herself, Aguilera was taken into custody.

Aguilera was booked for public intoxication -- and according to the booking sheet, she was listed at 5'2" and 100 lbs.

According to the L.A. County Sheriff's Department, Rutler's bail was set at $5,000.

However, the source adds, "If the driver had NOT been arrested for DUI, [Christina] would have never been in trouble."

The 18-year-old reality star -- and younger brother of skateboarding superstar Ryan Sheckler -- was pulled over in San Clemente early Saturday morning after cops say he was driving erratically in his white GMC truck.

According to law enforcement sources, officers believe Shane displayed signs of intoxication and eventually arrested him for driving under the influence.

Shane was taken to a nearby jail -- where he was booked and released several hours later.

He's due back in court next month.

Salling was letting loose after a pretty hectic week at the office -- and dude celebrated his first day off in three weeks by partying with a bunch of friends ... who ALL insisted on keeping the streets safe by cabbing it home.

A rep for the Miss USA Organization tells TMZ, it was Megan Burgess' resident assistant at her University of Arkansas dorm who called the cops on Megan for being a drunk nuisance -- and when police found her, she was sitting in the snow outside by herself.

But the Miss USA Organization isn't holding any grudge -- telling us, Megan "is a sweet girl who exemplifies the values of a Miss Teen title holder and is mortified about this."

The rep adds, "She even called over to us and said she was 'sorry if I brought any shame on my state.'"
