Pharrell's latest feat as Louis Vuitton's creative director is a $1 million dollar crocodile-skin handbag, which some might call high fashion -- but PETA insists it's a barbaric display of animal cruelty!!!

TMZ Hip Hop obtained an open letter Tuesday, penned by PETA's Senior VP Lisa Lange and addressed to Pharrell, which reads ... "Dear Pharrell, This is an invitation the likes of which you’ve never been offered before."

The correspondence is filled with references to Pharrell-produced hits, yet there's nothing joking about it as Lange says ... "When you were made men’s creative director of Louis Vuitton, we hoped animals would get lucky and that you would choose vegan fabrics, which are the preference of today’s ethical and environmentally conscious consumers. But we aren’t happy to note your newest design, the "Millionaire" Speedy bag, which is crafted from crocodile skin, because when it comes to animals being used for fashion, it isn’t beautiful—it’s abuse."

Lange also accused the Neptunes' superproducer of sitting idle as the crocs get mutilated for their skin -- a complaint she also recently leveled at Offset for his birthday bag blowout for Cardi B.

The letter continued, "A PETA Asia investigation found workers at LVMH’s suppliers cutting live crocodiles’ necks open and ramming metal rods down their spines while they were still conscious. Another investigation revealed that workers at facilities supplying LVMH struck pythons repeatedly on the head, suspending them in the air, inflating their bodies with water, and disemboweling them -- even as they moved about."

Lange wants Pharrell to go to a crocodile factory farm, where she says bags like the Millionaire Speedy are made ... and she's warning it won't be a fun trip to the zoo.

In her words -- "You’d want to bring along nose plugs and high boots to wade through fetid, waste-filled water. If we go to an indoor tank, also bring a flashlight, because you won’t see daylight. There are no blurred lines here. Killing wildlife for a bag isn’t cool—it’s cold. Are you up for this trip?"

Kim wore a shiny -- and revealing -- crystal top, with a skirt to match ... which was on top of a pair of her Swarovski x SKIMS boxers. She also showed up in a sparkling, custom taxi with the brand's logos on it, sticking with the night's theme.

Kim certainly had backup star power ... Serena Williams, Jeremy Pope, Billy Porter, Lake Bell, La La Anthony, Ashley Graham, Jasmine Tookes, Teyana Taylor, Madelaine Petsch, Georgia May Jagger and more all pulled up to the big event.

Even Kim's "American Horror Story" costar, Emma Roberts, made an appearance -- taking a night off from being a scream queen to support her pal.

SKIMS seems to keep moving up and up, despite already appearing to dominate the fashion industry -- she recently launched a line just for men, and the company became the NBA's official underwear partner.

Some of Hollywood's hottest stars flew east to the Big Apple to attend the so-called "Oscars of American Fashion" -- squeezing into their tight outfits that were just smokin'.

Kim Kardashian, Anne Hathaway, Gwyneth Paltrow, Demi Moore and Serena Williams all showed up for Monday night's annual Council of Fashion Designers of America's fashion awards at the Museum of Natural History in Manhattan.

KK was a real head-turner in her black, form-fitting leather dress with silver chains and a cross medallion around her neck.

Hathaway, who hosted the gala, sported a denim corset and full-length denim skirt with classy high heels -- topped off by Bulgari jewels.

Paltrow, Williams and Moore looked just as radiant. Gwyneth chose all-black attire with a stylish dress cut down the center ... Serena also wore all black and appeared ravishing. Moore took the silver route in her flashy gown.

As for the top honorees ... Gwyneth and her Goop brand snagged the CFDA Fashion Award for Innovation, while Serena won the CFDA Fashion Icon Award.

Other celebs also attended the ceremony including ... Martha Stewart, Mary J. Blige, Nina Dobrev, Karlie Kloss, Emma Chamberlain, Winnie Harlow, Nicky Hilton, Naomi Watts, La La Anthony, Lori Harvey and Shay Mitchell.

There was a big shindig at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art this weekend -- and a crap ton of A-listers showed up ... doing their best impression of a tourist along the way.

The event was a LACMA Art and Film Gala -- sponsored by Gucci -- that was hosted by a trustee of the institution, Eva Chow, and one Leo DiCaprio ... where everyone was coming together Saturday to honor artist Judy Baca, and pat themselves on the back, etc.

In other words, just another reason to get dressed up and step out in La La Land -- and the stars who attended certainly didn't disappoint ... nor did they miss the chance to pose at one of the most iconic IG-friendly spots in L.A., which is normally crawling with sightseers.

Of course, we're talking about the Urban Light display right outside of LACMA's front doors -- and right next to the tar pits there too, which stink to high heaven. A lot going on there!

Anyway, take a peek at who swung by to be fancy and flashy in front of the famed forest of street lamps that folks like to run through and snap pics in front of ... just about everyone got the opportunity to act like an out-of-towner, and they all certainly took it.

Kim K struck a pose, as did Ben and Jen ... and let's not forget Paris Hilton, Salma Hayek, Heidi Klum and Lenny Kravitz, just to name a few. BTW, Lupita N'yongo and Jodie Turner-Smith were both also there ... which is a little awkward considering the Joshua Jackson connection they share lately. Unclear if they crossed paths, but each came off as chill.

At any rate ... looked like a fun night out, and it also seems they booted all the normies. 😅

And, it didn't take long for Biebs to show that his last appearance at the venue wasn't a fluke ... as he blew by defenders over and over again, scoring easily throughout the night.

Bieber finished the game with 13 points, three rebounds, one assist and a ton of highlights ... although it wasn't enough to score his team a win -- as Nahmias fell to Surgeon, 110-102.

Bieber was hyped up for the game beforehand ... but afterward, he seemed to take the loss hard.

Adam Silver is lovin' the NBA's new collaboration with Kim Kardashian's SKIMS underwear brand ... so much so the commissioner was actually wearing 'em when TMZ Sports spoke with him this week in NYC!

We caught up with the 61-year-old commish just days after the NBA announced its multi-year partnership with SKIMS MENS ... which Kardashian recently introduced.

In fact, KK used OKC star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander as one of the models for the SKIMS MENS launch ... in addition to Neymar Jr. and Nick Bosa. The line did millions of dollars in sales in minutes upon launch.

But, is the product any good? Silver's clearly a big fan!

"Although I'm not going to show you, I'm wearing them right now," Adam told us.

"I strongly recommend them to everyone."

Silver even believes the undies could help the players perform better on the court.

"When guys are more comfortable, makes them play better," Silver said. "So yes, gonna have a direct impact on the game."

Speaking of playing better, LeBron James is fresh off a monster game ... scoring 35 points, grabbing 12 rebounds, and dishing out 7 assists in 42 minutes against the Clippers.

Lizzo hit the bullseye with her Halloween mission to honor female pioneers in entertainment, and all it took was a colorful impression of "Brazilian Bombshell" Carmen Miranda ... and a whole lot of crystals.

Celebrity designer and "Metal-and-Chain Queen," Laurel DeWitt tells TMZ Hip Hop ... it took her days and HUNDREDS of crystal embellishments to recreate one of Carmen’s iconic headdresses -- the colorful fruit arrangements the Portuguese-born actress popularized in her films throughout the 1930s, '40s and '50s.

Laurel says Lizzo's assortment of berries and florals is actually composed of beaded faux fruit and many colored sequins ... which got pretty heavy when fully assembled, but Lizzo's a showbiz pro and mastered the balancing act.

Stylist power couple Matthew and Reginald Reisman fleshed out the rest of Lizzo's homage to Carmen ... a shimmery gown and floral garnishes that capture the elegance of the Latina icon who broke through with American audiences.

Miranda appeared in dozens of films, and released even more music -- something Lizzo has been looking to mirror within her own award-winning career.
