Colts' Darius Leonard Drug Tested After Monster Game ... 'Can't Be Coincidence'

AWKWARD TIMING

Coincidence that Colts linebacker Darius Leonard was drug tested after single-handedly wrecking the Dallas Cowboys offense on Sunday?

He thinks not ...

The rookie superstar logged 11 tackled and broke up 2 passes in Indy's 23-0 route of America's Team -- and after the game, Leonard says the NFL selected him to pee into a cup.

"NFL this can't be a coincidence," the 2nd round draft pick posted on social media.

"Everybody else gone home after the game," Leonard said ... "Last one in here. Got a drug test. Once again! Once again after a game! Got a drug test. Still stuck in here, an hour and a half after the game."

Good news for Darius ... he's yet to fail one of the tests.

Better news for Darius?? The Colts have won 7 of their last 8 games and are now right back in the AFC playoff picture!!

Adam Vinatieri Best Kick Of My Career? Snow Bowl, Baby!!!

Remember the two field goals Adam Vinatieri made that won Tom Brady and the Patriots two Super Bowls??

Yeah ... A.V. says they aren't the best of his career.

"As proud as I am of those two kicks, I think the one that I'm probably the most proud of is the one in the Snow Bowl game in the divisional playoff game against Oakland."

That's right ... the dude who's made over 575 kicks in his career and owns the most points in NFL history says his 45-yard, 4th-quarter boot back in 2001 tops 'em all.

"There were five, six, seven inches of snow on the ground, we’re down by three and it’s a 45-yard field goal," Vinatieri said on the Talk of Fame Network.

"And, if you miss, the season’s over and you’re cleaning out your locker."

Adam continued: “To be able to put that one through the posts … to be able to tie the game up and then go into overtime and have a shorter field goal to win … I think that’s probably the one I’m most proud of just because of the sheer difficulty."

Of course ... that WAS the field goal that kicked off the whole Pats dynasty -- so maybe Adam's got a point.

Then again, if the Tuck Rule never happened -- neither does the kick.

Sorry, Oakland.

Jim Tressel Stoked for Anthony Gonzalez NFL Experience Will Make Him Great Politician

THE RIGHT MAN FOR THE JOB
TMZSports.com

Ex-Ohio State football coach Jim Tressel says he's THRILLED his former player Anthony Gonzalez was elected to Congress Tuesday night ... saying he'd been planning for a political career ever since he was in the NFL.

The 34-year-old wide receiver -- who was selected by the Indianapolis Colts in the 1st round of the 2007 NFL Draft -- was running for Congress in Ohio's 16th District (as a Republican) and WON!

Tressel -- who also worked as a consultant with the Colts while AG was on the team -- says he's convinced Gonzalez will be spectacular in his new role.

"I think anyone that becomes a 1st round draft choice in the NFL doesn’t just do it on talent and anyone that becomes a U.S. congressman doesn’t do it just by showing up," Tressel said.

"The hard work he put into preparing himself for both things, the hard work he has most recently put in on the campaign trail ... he’s there for the people and he’ll be tireless."

He added, "It’s just an exciting time for our country to have a young guy like that who's got the best interests of the people in mind to be going to serve in tough times."

"It’s not easy to serve in Congress. There’s nothing easy about it. They got a guy going there for all the right reasons."

As for Anthony's football career, he was pretty good until knee injuries forced him to retire in 2012.

Edwin Jackson Drunk Driver Gets 16 Yrs. In Prison For Killing NFL Player

The drunk driver who killed Colts linebacker Edwin Jackson in February just got sentenced to 16 years in prison.

As we previously reported, 26-year-old Jackson and his Uber driver were hit by a pickup truck while they were standing on the shoulder of a highway in Indiana.

37-year-old Manuel Orrego-Zavala pled guilty to 2 counts of "DUI that causes the death of another" in July.

Today, he faced a judge in Indiana ... and was hit with the maximum penalty -- 16 years in state prison.

After his prison sentence, Orrego-Zavala -- who's a Guatemalan citizen in America illegally -- faces deportation.

The case became a national story when President Trump tweeted that it was "disgraceful" that Jackson was killed by a man who was in the U.S. illegally.

Orrego-Zavala is currently locked up ... and ain't goin' anywhere for 16 years.

Andrew Luck 'Fun' To Be Pummeled ... By Terrell Suggs!!

FELT GREAT
Colts

Ever seen a person giddy to be smashed to the ground by a 6-foot-3, 265-pound man??

Well, now you have ... 'cause Andrew Luck says he was downright HAPPY to have been destroyed by Terrell Suggs during the Ravens-Colts tilt Monday night.

"I told Anthony [Castonzo] on the sideline, I said, 'Man, it was sort of fun to get hit by Suggs right there!'" Luck said.

The Indianapolis QB hasn't gone crazy ... he's just been out for the past year nursing a shoulder injury -- and when he came up from the hard tackle and felt no pain, it was a happy moment.

"I was like, 'Oh, I landed on my right elbow.' It was sort of reminiscent of how I injured my shoulder a couple years ago. And, I didn't feel anything."

"I didn't give it a second thought. So, I think that's actually a big deal for me."

It was just about the only happy moment for Luck against Baltimore ... he ended the night just 6-for-13 with a brutal interception.

But ... for a guy who's taken just a handful of legit game snaps since January 2017 -- he'll happily take it.

Andrew Luck Wait, You Got Abs?!

FLEXIN' IN THE LOCKER ROOM

Did you know Andrew Luck was jacked? We didn't ... until now.

The Indianapolis Colts QB was flexin' a legit 6-pack Thursday night in the locker room after his pre-season game against the Seattle Seahawks ... a game where he went 6-9 for 64 yards.

It was Luck's first NFL action since 2016 -- but just because he missed playing time doesn't mean he missed the gym ... at least judging by the video.

Luck was standing behind coach Frank Reich -- who was talking about the importance of getting better every day -- and proved he's been doing that when it comes to his physique.

Now, go have a carb.

NFL's Chris McCain Charged w/ Battering Woman Allegedly Spit On Woman, Grabbed Her Neck

Another NFL player is accused of attacking a woman -- this time, it's Indianapolis Colts defensive end Chris McCain ... who's being charged with battery stemming from a January incident.

According to official documents obtained by TMZ Sports ... the 26-year-old is accused of spitting on a woman and forcefully grabbing her neck in Los Angeles on January 7.

Details surrounding the incident are unclear -- we know he's been formally charged with 2 misdemeanor counts of battery.

If convicted, McCain faces up to 6 months in jail plus fines and probation.

It's a big deal for the Colts ... they're expecting big things from McCain after a solid 2017 season with the Chargers ... when he racked up 5 sacks in 15 games.

McCain played his college ball at Cal and was initially signed by the Miami Dolphins as an undrafted free agent back in 2014.

Ex-Pats TE Jermaine Wiggins Praises Josh McDaniels: Indy's 'a S**t Show' Anyway

THE RIGHT MOVE
TMZSports.com

"Who the hell wants to go to the Colts organization and play for [Jim] Irsay. I mean, that place is an absolute s**t show" -- says ex-Patriots tight end Jermaine Wiggins.

Wiggins would know ... he played for the Colts back in 2002 and tells TMZ Sports he's convinced Josh McDaniels made the RIGHT choice in backing out of the Indy coaching job.

"[If McDaniels] goes to Indy, if they suck in two years, they'll be looking for a new head coach and he'll be out," Wiggins says.

So, the better decision is to stay with the best organization in football and take over when Bill Belichick leaves. Job security and more money. Boom.

Tony Dungy Rips Josh McDaniels You Screwed Over Your Assistants

Tony Dungy is ripping into Josh McDaniels -- saying there's "no excuse big enough to justify" screwing over all of the asst. coaches who are getting burned in his coaching flip-flop.

"It’s one thing to go back on your word to an organization," Dungy said ... "But having assistant coaches leave jobs to go with you then leave them out to dry is indefensible. For COMFORT??"

This all stems from Josh's last minute decision to back out of a deal to coach the Indianapolis Colts and go back with the Patriots ... AFTER he lured a team of assistants to leave other jobs and sign contracts with Indy.

Now Indy will have to hire a new head coach -- and that person will likely blow out McDaniels' entire team and bring in his own guys. Dungy clearly believes the assistants are getting screwed big time.

"Has nothing to do with the Colts. It’s about the families of those assistant coaches that he totally disregarded. But who cares about them???!"

Dungy added ... "You don’t do that to the families of your peers."

Edwin Jackson's Teammate Hey Trump ... Stop Using My Friend to Push Agenda

MISSING THE POINT
TMZSports.com

Donald Trump was wrong to use Edwin Jackson's death to push his political agenda ... so says one of Jackson's closest friends, who says POTUS needs to focus on the REAL issue -- drunk driving.

We spoke with Minnesota Vikings LB Antwione Williams -- who was Jackson's college roommate at Georgia Southern. The two have been good friends for years.

Williams says it made him "sick" to see Trump using Jackson's death as a rallying cry for his immigration policy ... since the guy who allegedly killed Jackson was living in the U.S. illegally.

Instead, Williams says Trump needs to focus on the drunk driving problem in America -- since the suspect was allegedly nearly three times the legal limit when he struck and killed Jackson.

Williams also tells TMZ Sports about the kind of person Jackson was like off the field ... and shares his favorite memories from when they lived together.

R.I.P.

A FAMILY MAN

Donald Trump 'Disgraceful' That Illegal Killed NFL Player

Donald Trump says it's "disgraceful" that a former Indianapolis Colts linebacker Edwin Jackson was killed by a man who was in the United States illegally ... and is calling for democrats to get tough on the border.

As we previously reported, 26-year-old Jackson was hit by a pickup truck early Sunday morning while he was standing on the shoulder of a highway in Indiana.

Officials believe the man driving the truck is 37-year-old Manuel Orrego-Savala -- a Guatemalan citizen who had been living in the U.S. illegally. Officials believe Orrego-Savala was drunk at the time of the crash and tried to flee the scene.

Once apprehended, officials say Orrego-Savala had been previously deported twice before -- once in 2007 and again in 2009 -- yet somehow made it back and had been living in Indiana.

Now, Trump is weighing in ... saying, "So disgraceful that a person illegally in our country killed @Colts linebacker Edwin Jackson."

"This is just one of many such preventable tragedies. We must get the Dems to get tough on the Border, and with illegal immigration, FAST!"

"My prayers and best wishes are with the family of Edwin Jackson, a wonderful young man whose life was so senselessly taken. @Colts."

Colts LB Edwin Jackson Dead at 26 Hit by Suspected Drunk Driver

Colts linebacker Edwin Jackson was killed this weekend after being hit by a suspected drunk driver.

According to Indiana State Police, Jackson and another man, Jeffrey Monroe, were struck early Sunday morning by a driver off of I-70 in Indianapolis. Both men were killed.

Cops say Jackson and Monroe were standing near a stopped vehicle on the shoulder of the highway when a black Ford F-150 truck swerved into their area and hit them.

Police say they believe the driver of the truck, Alex Cabrera Gonsales, was intoxicated. He reportedly tried fleeing the scene on foot after the crash, but he was apprehended by authorities.

The Colts released a statement on Jackson's death, saying, in part ... "We were heartbroken to hear the news of Edwin Jackson’s passing. Edwin was loved by all in the Colts organization." A rep for the team added ... "We are shocked and saddened by this tragedy, and our thoughts and prayers are with the families of both men during this difficult time."

Jackson was only 26 years old. RIP

Peyton Manning Might Not Get My POTUS Vote ... Says Reggie Wayne

POLLING FOR PEYTON
TMZSports.com

If Peyton Manning runs for President ... he's gonna have to WORK to get Reggie Wayne's vote.

With rumblings that Manning could transition into politics, we asked the QB's former Indianapolis Colts teammate if he'd pull the lever for the guy out of NFL loyalty.

The answer -- NOPE.

Wayne says he'd only vote for Peyton if he's "talking about the right stuff" ... adding, "If he don't, he might not get my vote."

"Just because we're teammates doesn't mean that what you stand for is right."

Might not be an issue ... Peyton keeps playing down a possible political run -- despite support from guys like John McCain.

Colts Owner Jim Irsay Tweets Graphic Naked Woman Pic ... Hacked?!

Jim Irsay's Twitter followers got a very x-rated surprise -- a spread eagle vagina pic!

The photo went out on the Indianapolis Colts owner's Twitter page early Thursday morning -- but was promptly deleted 12 minutes later ... which is an eternity on the Internet.

The question ... was it an innocent mistake or was he actually HACKED?!

Neither Irsay nor the Colts have issued an official statement yet. We're guessing it's just a matter of time at this point.

In the meantime, change your password, Mr. Irsay.

Ex-College Hoops Player Signs with NFL Team I Can Be The Next Antonio Gates!

I'VE GOT THE SMARTS
TMZSports.com

The Indianapolis Colts just signed a guy who hasn't played football in 9 years ... but the dude has the potential to be the next big NFL superstar.

Meet Mo Alie-Cox -- a 6'7", 250 pound ex-college basketball player at VCU -- who is now trying to make it as a tight end in the NFL.

Earlier this month, Alie-Cox had a private workout and almost every NFL team sent scouts. The Colts liked what they saw and signed him to a free agent contract.

We spoke with Mo -- who hasn't played football since his freshman year in high school -- and he's very confident he's got what it takes to make it.

After all, Tony Gonzalez, Antonio Gates, Jimmy Graham, Julius Thomas ... all had a similar career path.

Good luck!

File Under: DRUNK MORON?

It all went down around 2 AM on Saturday morning. The driver of the golf cart taxi (common in Scottsdale) told police he picked a group of people up from a bar and dropped them off another location.

But when it came time to pay, 6'2", 300 pound Parry allegedly struck him in the head and stole the cart.
