Mark Ronson Bieber's $200M Catalog Sale ... GREAT Move, Get That $$$!!!

Published

Mark Ronson says Justin Bieber's call to sell off his music catalog is a sweet decision, and he also says Bieb fans can chill ... this is not a sign the singer's ready to hang it up.

We got the producer/DJ Tuesday at LAX, and he doesn't see J.B.'s estimated $200 million catalog sale as a dead end -- noting it could be a good thing for fans, possibly showing Justin has a bunch more music to make, and is just looking to maximize profits off what he's done so far.

Obviously, Mark doesn't know exactly what's going through Justin's head ... but he notes money's got to be a big factor.

As we reported, Justin had his eyes on the big deal with Hipgnosis Songs Capital in December, which included his entire music catalog -- 6 albums over a decade, as well as all singles and collabs. Hipgnosis announced the closing of the mega sale Tuesday.

BTW, Mark gives us his 2 cents about this year's Coachella lineup, too ... and he thinks headliners Bad Bunny and BLACKPINK are fire choices.

He says people who weren't at the show might not understand -- adding she gave respect and got respect back from the country, calling it an amazing moment.

MK notes his daughter's always stood for inclusiveness, and believes everyone was there for love. He adds she'd never do something to deliberately hurt someone.

As for the criticism about her NOT performing hits from "Renaissance," Mathew says hold tight ... Beyonce IS planning a tour, and she'll announce it when she's ready.

TMZ caught up with Bey's mom, Tina Knowles, Monday -- telling us her daughter was pretty nervous before her first big show in years, but notes she pulled it off and it was a great trip. She had less to say about the controversy, though.

As we reported, Beyonce's show brought down the house over the weekend as she performed to a packed house for the opening of the new Atlantis resort, and reportedly got paid $24 million.

The backlash, which Beyonce rarely faces, centered around some in the LGBTQ+ community feeling she'd "sold out" by performing in a "homophobic dictatorship."

Mathew says that's a narrow-minded view of what went down.

Panic! At The Disco Calling It Quits ... Says Brendon Urie

Published | Updated

Panic! at the Disco singer Brendon Urie is wrapping up a HUGE chapter in his life ... because he says his band, which stood for nearly 2 decades, is no more.

Brendon broke the news to his millions of fans Tuesday morning -- starting by saying, "Well, it’s been a hell of a journey."

He goes on to talk about how he and his wife are expecting a baby, which he's obviously thrilled about ... unfortunately, that means he's got to put the music behind him to focus on the fam, instead.

Brendon says, "Thank you all for your immense support over the years ... Whether you’ve been here since the beginning or are just finding us, it has been a pleasure to not only share the stage with so many talented people but also share our time with you."

The frontman goes on to further express his gratitude, before saying, "I am looking forward to seeing everyone in Europe and the UK for one last run together" -- referring to the final leg of his Viva Las Vengeance tour, which ends in Manchester this March.

Panic! was first formed back in 2004 with Brendon's childhood friends, growing huge popularity with their first big hit, "I Write Sins Not Tragedies" the following year.

The band would go on to top charts with songs like "Nine in the Afternoon," "High Hopes," "This is Gospel," "House of Memories," and more ... all while going through several different band members as the years went on, eventually turning the band into a solo project in 2015.

Britney Spears Watch Me Dance ... Posts Groovin' Clip After Calling Herself River Red

Published

Britney Spears -- or River Red, as she'd like to be called -- swapped outfits 3 times Sunday night, dancing to her heart's content ... just days after making the apparent name change.

The singer showed off her signature moves Sunday evening ... grooving to 3 separate tracks, complete with costume changes, too.

In her caption, Britney says she can't act "too kooky or silly like kids" because people will call her "CRAY CRAY" -- adding she's sharing her dancing because "every person I call TAKES 9 RINGS TO ANSWER" ... and, "I bet after I post this my security answers after 2 RINGS."

The freestyle session came after a now-deleted post from last week, showing off a picture of Mars and writing, "I changed my name to River Red" ... and saying "don't underestimate the power of purity."

She also changed her name on IG to match the announcement.

Waiting for your permission to load the Instagram Media.

Fans are scratching their heads at the supposed name change -- we are too -- but it might simply be her take on Mars, known as the red planet.

There's also a little known 1998 film called "River Red" -- a disturbing family drama -- but that seems much less likely.

Lisa Marie Presley Graceland Memorial Service

Published | Updated

Lisa Marie Presley's celebration of life at Graceland took place today, as her family members, friends and countless Elvis Presley fans gathered to honor her.

Priscilla Presley arrived with her family, including son Navarone Garibaldi, daughter Riley Keough and Lisa Marie’s ex-husband, Michael Lockwood.

It's unclear if Lisa's daughters Harper and Finley were in attendance for the public service ... or if the twins only attended the private family memorial that took place earlier this weekend.

Lisa's close friend Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, arrived a few minutes before the Presley family.

Austin Butler, who played Elvis in the new movie, arrived with Kaia Gerber. Austin's sister Ashley Butler is said to have joined him to pay respects as well.

Lisa's father Elvis' solemn song, "He Touched Me" played while the memorial live stream waited to begin, as well as a touching duet of Lisa and her father singing “Where No One Stands Alone.”

The memorial started with a performance of "Amazing Grace," sung by Jason Clark & the Tennessee Mass Choir.

Producer Joel Weinshanker then gave the opening remarks. He said Lisa Marie left instructions on her wishes for her memorial, and stated "don't make it sad."

During a tribute, former Mayor of Memphis AC Wharton listed off a lot of the famous children born after Lisa Marie, and spoke of Lisa as being the one that came before them all ... calling her a bright light and, "the image of a king."

Billy Corgan of The Smashing Pumpkins then performed his band's 1998 song "To Sheila."

Sarah Ferguson spoke of her friendship with Lisa, and reminisced on how they called each other "Sissy."

Alanis Morissette performed her 2021 song "Rest" in honor of Lisa.

Talent manager Jerry Schilling spoke of an 18-year-old Lisa telling him, "I need to have a meeting with you. I need a job, I know people don’t think I’m responsible, but I really am."

He says they then went to an exclusive place to have a meeting, "The Hamburger Hamlet." He and the audience chuckled.

He continued, "She became my secretary, and every time I would say that she would correct me and say “I’m your ASSISTANT,” which made the crowd laugh again.

Priscilla then read a beautiful personal poem titled, "The Old Soul," saying "... a broken heart was the doing of her death, now she is home where she always belonged, but my heart is missing her love.”

Riley Keough was listed to speak, but instead, a note she wrote, titled "A Letter to My Mama," was read on stage by her husband, Ben Smith-Petersen.

Beyonce Proves She's Still The Queen Of Music... In New Dubai Performance Photos

Published | Updated

Beyonce most certainly lived up to her nickname, "Queen Bey," during her Dubai performance Saturday night ... and we got the pics to prove it.

Check out these new images, obtained by TMZ, showing Bey in a yellow sequined gown with a feathered cape -- which was fit for a queen!!! She was surrounded by dancers in large red dresses and a Middle Eastern orchestra.

Bey then changed into a gold body suit with a matching corset and long train. She also wore a red dress with a different corset, stockings and gloves.

Safe to say ... Bey brought the house down at the star-studded event ... Kendall Jenner, Liam Payne and Ronan Keating were just a few of the celebs on hand.

Everyone got to enjoy Bey's 90-minute set that included her biggest hits ... "Crazy In Love," "Naughty Girl", "Halo" and "XO." The show ended with a huge fireworks display.

As we reported, Bey hit the stage at Atlantis The Royal hotel in the United Arab Emirates after an almost 5-year hiatus. The singer was paid a whopping $24 million to be the centerpiece of the hotel's launch party. Recording devices were banned, but many in the packed crowd didn't follow the rules and leaked footage of the event on social media.

The concert was also a family affair ... Jay-Z was present along with Bey's parents, Tina and Mathew Knowles.

Bey/Jay's 11-year-old daughter Blue Ivy, and 5-year-old twins, Rumi and Sir were there as well. Ivy even jumped on stage to perform a duet with her mom, singing a song from the album, "The Lion King: The Gift."

Beyoncé Dubai Performance Caught on Camera Despite Strict Restrictions

Published | Updated

In the digital era, not even Beyoncé can beat cell phones -- her performance in Dubai was caught on camera by several people ... despite going above and beyond to keep it secret.

The singer's down in the UAE, where she's been booked for a show at (or near) this swanky hotel called Atlantis The Royal ... which supposedly shelled out millions for her services, upwards of $24 million for just a ONE-HOUR set -- that's the word on the street, anyway.

Tons of videos circulated Saturday in the lead-up to her gig, where people who had snagged a seat to the show were reporting that the hotel and other honchos were demanding people put their devices in locked zip bags -- similar to how a lot of comics do these days.

There was also a live feed stream the hotel had up that had been capturing a lot of her sound checks in rehearsal ... which was promptly cut off right at the curtain call. And yet, despite their best efforts -- people on the ground were able to film it all regardless. 🤷🏽‍♂️

You can hop into the Beyoncé trend right now on Twitter and see all the footage for yourself -- it sounds like she opened with a cover of Etta James's 'At Last,' and then went on to perform a few of her own tracks ... like 'XO,' 'Brown Skin Girl' and other 'Renaissance' songs.

Bey was decked out in an elaborate, flowing yellow dress ... and the stage design was pretty intricate too -- coupled with a live orchestra and an awesome rising run backdrop to boot.

Sounds like things are going swimmingly, 'cause the crowd is cheering her on big time ... which is a good sign of what's to come. Reports say this is a precursor to her upcoming worldwide 'Renaissance' tour -- and so far, it seems like the product is being well-received.

BTW, this outing is a family affair ... Jay-Z was spotted near the Atlantis -- cozy up in his own private box with a bird's-eye view of the stage -- and Blue Ivy's there too. She even came on stage with mom at one point, continuing the tradition of sharing the spotlight.

Beyoncé fans are certainly stoked ... they've been waiting for her hit the road. 'Renaissance' came out about 6 months ago, and their appetite to see their Queen Bey get on the mic has been swelling like crazy. Now, they're getting their first taste of what's surely to come.

Official tour dates have yet to be announced, but after this mass leaking ... she might as well come out with it sooner than later. The people are restless!

Black Eyed Peas Poopsie Slime Surprise Sued Over 'My Humps' Parody

Published

A song-and-dance troupe of pooping toy unicorns could be in steaming hot trouble, legally speaking, all because the lil' stinkers did a send-up of a huge Black Eyed Peas hit.

Let us explain … a company called MGA Entertainment created a popular line of toys -- dancing unicorns that excrete sparkling slime called Poopsie Slime Surprise. Every kid's fantasy, right?

In order to market the lil’ poopers, MGA ran a bunch of ads with animated unicorns singing and dancing to a song called "My Poops" – featuring the catchy hook "my poops, my poops, my poops, my sparkly glitter poops!"

If that banger sounds familiar, that's because it’s a play on BEP's classic "My Humps," and that's what lead to a lawsuit. Will.i.am and co's record label and music publishing company, BMG, owns the majority of the copyright to the 2005 smash hit, and it claims "My Poops" clearly rips off the melody, tempo, chord progression, and even features a vocalist who sounds a lot like Fergie.

BMG says MGA never got the rights to use the song, and now it wants at least $10 MILLION in damages. If that sounds a bit high, it’s worth remembering that "My Humps" was a HUGE hit, garnering more than 700 million views on YouTube alone and taking home the award for Best Hip Hop Video at the 2006 MTV Video Music Awards.

If BMG ends up winning even a fraction of the $10 mil in court, this could be the most expensive poop joke in history! We reached out to MGA for comment … so far, no word back.

The real shocker -- as God is our witness we thought unicorns pooped rainbows. 🤷🏽‍♂️

David Crosby Dead at 81

UPDATE

5:10 PM PT -- David was the biological father to Melissa Etheridge's 2 children, and she posted a tribute to her dear friend, thanking him for the "gift of family."

UPDATE

David Crosby, the singer, songwriter and guitarist and member of The Byrds and Crosby, Stills & Nash, has died.

His wife, Jan Dance, told Variety Thursday, "It is with great sadness after a long illness, that our beloved David (Croz) Crosby has passed away. He was lovingly surrounded by his wife and soulmate Jan and son Django. Although he is no longer here with us, his humanity and kind soul will continue to guide and inspire us."

She continues, "His legacy will continue to live on through his legendary music. Peace, love, and harmony to all who knew David and those he touched. We will miss him dearly. At this time, we respectfully and kindly ask for privacy as we grieve and try to deal with our profound loss. Thank you for the love and prayers.”

Born in Los Angeles, David founded the band The Byrds in 1964, finding their first number one hit ... only a year later thanks to a cover of Bob Dylan's "Mr. Tambourine Man."

It was in 1968 when Crosby formed Crosby, Stills & Nash with Stephen Stills and Graham Nash. The group won a Grammy for Best New Artist in 1969.

Over the years, members of the group were able to collab with other artists freely -- and did so with the likes of Neil Young at Woodstock.

Crosby was inducted into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as both a member of The Byrds and for his efforts with Crosby, Stills & Nash.

It was boy band heaven for Aaron Carter fans wanting to honor their favorite pop star while raising money for charity at the same time ... all thanks to an effort organized in part by Aaron's older siblings, Nick and Angel Carter.

Nick, alongside his Backstreet Boy bandmate AJ McLean, NSYNC's Lance Bass, 98 Degrees' Jeff Timmons, members from O-Town and LFO all gathered at HEART in West Hollywood.

Not only did the guys perform some fan favorites, the tribute show also raised $150k for On Our Sleeves -- a charity that works to help children facing mental and emotional health struggles -- with a goal to give every community in America access to free, evidence-informed educational resources, educating families and breaking stigmas.

We're told 100% of the proceeds raised at the show will benefit the charity.

TMZ broke the story, Nick penned a song for Aaron shortly after his death called "Hurts to Love You" ... and he performed it at Wednesday night's benefit show.

Britney Spears Justin Timberlake On Her Mind ... Sucky Tattoo On Her Arm!!!

Published | Updated

Britney Spears has clear regrets ... about a tattoo, and about her ex, Justin Timberlake -- she's even posting throwback pics of him -- which can't feel great for her husband, Sam Asghari.

She posted a video of herself getting inked up while in Maui, but never revealed the finished product. As Brit put it, "Can’t show it because it sucks 😂😂😂 !!! Like really really sucks !!! S–t 🙈🙈🙈 !!!”

That's probably exactly what Sam is saying about the Justin pics Brit posted right before her tattoo video. They were throwbacks to JT and Brit in 2001 wearing matching basketball jerseys, and the caption said, "When we used to shoot hoops TOGETHER … that’s when miracles happened."

It wasn't all gushing, though ... she also said, "I came out of my mom’s stomach just like we all did !!! Psss … why always cast me out ??? I’m equal as all !!!"

Brit didn't leave up the cryptic, yet definitely critical, Justin post for too long. That one's been deleted, but she left up the tattoo vid.

As you'll recall, Britney accused Justin last year of using her name to gain serious popularity ... referring to his hit, "Cry Me A River," as a way to blast her publicly for their split.

Sam later said his wife was just freaked out by fans taking photos of her, and he denied leaving her in the restaurant. Chivalry at its best.

Lisa Marie Presley Public Memorial At Graceland

Published | Updated

Lisa Marie Presley will be laid to rest alongside her father, son and grandparents during a public memorial service at Graceland -- a very special place for the Presleys.

A rep for Graceland announced the service will take place Sunday at 9 AM at Graceland in Memphis, Tennessee ... and the general public is invited to attend.

Graceland is obviously significant to the Presley family history -- it was home to Elvis Presley before he died on the property in 1977. Family members including Lisa Marie's son Benjamin Keough, her grandparents, Vernon and Gladys Presley, as well as Elvis’ grandmother, Minnie Mae, have also been buried there.

Graceland has also served as a backdrop for other family celebrations over the years -- including what would have been Elvis' 80th birthday in 2015 -- and a vigil to honor Elvis on the 40th anniversary of his death in 2017.

TMZ broke the story ... Lisa was rushed to the hospital last week after going into full cardiac arrest. She later died at the hospital surrounded by her loved ones.

As for Lisa Marie's service, the announcement also notes, "In lieu of flowers, the family encourages all who wish to send something to do so in the form of a donation to The Elvis Presley Charitable Foundation."

The foundation is known to support different orgs, focusing on arts, education, and children's programs in the Memphis area.

MAKEOUT MADNESS

If you want Madonna's truth -- that she's going on tour again -- you're first gonna have to sit through several racy dares with her celeb friends ... so, apologies to Diplo's balls!!!

Yep, that's just a taste of what went down in Madonna's 'Celebration Tour' announcement video ... which features Madge playing Truth or Dare with the likes of Jack Black, Lil Wayne, Amy Schumer, Eric Andre, Judd Apatow, Bob the Drag Queen, Meg Stalter and yes ... Diplo.

This is the only place you could see Diplo dip his junk in a margarita and then chug it ... followed by Madonna jamming her tongue down Jack Black's throat ... before she strikes an R-rated ménage à trois pose with Weezy and Jack!!!

That's just a sample of what went down at Madonna's twisted game night -- which was a fun tip of the hat to her 1991 concert film, "Truth or Dare."

The tour announcement came when Amy dared Madonna to "do a world tour and play your greatest muthaf***ing hits." The iconic singer responds, "Four decades? All those songs?" -- which gets the whole room singing their fave Madonna classics.

The 35-city world tour will kick off in North America ... first show is July 15 in Vancouver, BC ... and the last is December 1 in Amsterdam -- and yes, she'll be singing all THOSE songs.

In her media announcement, Madonna added, "I am excited to explore as many songs as possible in hopes to give my fans the show they have been waiting for."

There ya have it ... no deep album cuts, bitches!!!

Aaron Carter Family Says He Didn't Drown in Tub ... Believe He Had Fatal OD

Published | Updated

Aaron Carter was found dead in his bathtub, but his family now says he didn't die from drowning ... instead, they believe drugs killed him.

Aaron's fiancée, Melanie Martin, and mother, Jane Carter, tell TMZ ... the L.A. County Coroner's Office told them there was no water found in Aaron's lungs, which rules out drowning as a potential cause of death.

Melanie and Jane say the coroner is still waiting on toxicology results to determine what was in Aaron's system when he died, and the family wants law enforcement to investigate an alleged drug deal the night of Aaron's death.

TMZ broke the story, cops were called to Aaron's L.A. area home back in November for a report of a drowning.

Law enforcement believes Aaron's body was in the tub for a long time as there was a smell of decomposition and the water had turned an unnatural color.

Plus we're told the tub's jets were still running when Aaron's body was found.

Melanie has Aaron's phone and she says she found text messages with an unidentified person telling Aaron he owed $800 for an unknown substance. She says the conversation includes Aaron telling the person he didn't need the substance anymore, to which the person responded that it didn't matter and he still owed money.

Melanie says Aaron asked the person if he was being threatened, and that's where the conversation ends. She tells us she met with investigators last week, and submitted the exchange for evidence.

The family believes Aaron might have met with the person he was texting before his death ... and they fear Aaron took a substance that could have ultimately killed him.

As we first told you, cops found multiple cans of compressed air in Aaron's bathroom and bedroom, as well as prescription pills.

However, Aaron's family believes his death was NOT caused by huffing compressed air ... and they want police to investigate the possibility someone sold Aaron a substance that caused a fatal overdose.

'American Idol' Alum CJ Harris Dead At 31

Published | Updated

CJ Harris, the former "American Idol" contestant who made it to the top 6 in 2014, has died.

A family member tells us CJ suffered an apparent heart attack Sunday night in Jasper, Alabama ... he was taken to a local hospital by ambulance, but didn't make it.

Fans of the show remember the Jasper native auditioning for the judges back in 2014 in Salt Lake City ... blowing them away with his version of Allman Brothers Band's "Soulshine."

Judge Keith Urban told CJ, "You sing 'cause you have to sing, not 'cause you want to sing. And, I mean that in the deepest way. And, that's why it's so believable and real."

Following his incredible audition, CJ rocked America with powerful versions of "Too Close," "American Woman," and "Free Fallin'." He was chosen by the judges as a wild card in the semi-finals after not receiving enough votes, getting kept in the competition -- making it all the way to the top 6 before getting eliminated.

After "Idol," CJ performed with Darius Rucker at The Grand Ole Opry, someone he's said was a massive influence on his style. He even played for audiences in the competition show's season 13 tour.

He was only 31.
