Bret Michaels continued to make tremendous progress in his recovery this weekend -- and one source close to the singer tells us the whole thing is nothing short of "amazing."

We're told Bret was "very aware" and in a "good mood" this weekend during an evaluation with a specialist -- the singer was even described as "somewhat talkative."

It's a major improvement from the "critical" state Bret was in after suffering a massive hemorrhage near his brain stem back on April 23 -- a condition that can often be fatal if not treated quickly by experienced professionals. 

TMZ has learned ... Katherine Jackson is downsizing the number of grandchildren in her San Fernando Valley mansion -- and the stun gun incident was the catalyst.


Sources with direct knowledge of the situation tell TMZ ...  Katherine has told Alejandra Genevieve Oaziaza -- who is currently living at the estate, along with two of her kids by Randy Jackson and two others by Jermaine Jackson -- that she must take the kids and move out of the estate next week, because supervising seven children is just too much for the 79-year-old grandmother.

But don't think Katherine is heartless.  It's the opposite.  She's moving Alejandra, along with Jaafar, Jermajesty, Donte and Randy Jr. to a San Fernando Valley condo owned by the estate.



We're told the move was prompted by the stun gun incident last month. TMZ broke the story that 13-year-old Jaafar bought a stun gun online and fired it in the house.  Sources say Jaafar pointed the gun at two of Michael's kids, but the family denies that. 

The L.A. County Department of Children and Family Services came to the estate, took the gun and interviewed people in the home, and it became apparent seven kids were too much for Katherine to handle. 

So as of next week, Prince, Paris and Blanket will have the run of the mansion, unobstructed.

Jon and Kate Gosselin better stock up on their #2 pencils -- TMZ has learned the reality parents have each been required to go to a court-mandated parenting class.



The judge in their bitter custody dispute has ordered both Jon and Kate to complete a 3-hour parenting class titled "Children in the Middle" -- a requirement for all parents involved in a custody war in Berks County, PA.

We're told Jon and Kate will NOT be required to take the class together -- in fact, parents are often encouraged to take separate classes ... for obvious reasons.  They have until June 8 to complete the class.

As for the course material -- the parents will learn about the dangers of exposing their children to loyalty conflicts ... like when one parent talks smack about the other parent's financial situation.

TMZ has obtained a photo of Tito Ortiz sitting behind bars at a Huntington Beach jail -- right after he was arrested for allegedly beating up Jenna Jameson.



Ortiz was arrested early this morning for felony domestic violence -- he has since been released after posting bail.

UPDATE 4:33 PM PT: Tito just posted $50,000 bail -- we're told he paid in full with a cashier's check.

UFC fighter Tito Ortiz was placed in handcuffs -- and then in a jacket -- when he was arrested this morning for domestic violence at the home he shares with Jenna Jameson.


In the above photo, Tito's hands are locked behind his back -- underneath the jacket. Apparently, it was a little chilly by the beach this morning.

As we previously reported, Ortiz was taken to a Huntington Beach jail in Orange County, CA this morning after somebody called 911 and reported a "disturbance" in the home.

TMZ has learned Lindsay Lohan's landlord has set the ball in motion for a restraining order against daddy Michael Lohan.


Here's what went down.  This weekend Michael came by Lindsay's West Hollywood apartment again, and caused a major commotion ... refusing to leave and, at one point, grabbing the house phone from the valet.

We're told the landlord contacted Lindsay's lawyer, Shawn Chapman Holley, and said Michael was becoming "a huge problem" and asked if there was any way to get a restraining order.

Holley tells TMZ, "In light of the landlord's concerns, I may go to court to keep Michael away."

Michael Lohan tells TMZ he's on his way to his lawyer's office to start the Lindsay Lohan conservatorship ball rolling.


As we reported this weekend, Michael was giving Lindsay an ultimatum -- either meet with him today or he's going to court.  Our Lindsay sources say she wasn't keen on a tête-à-tête -- actually, she said no way would she sit down with daddy.

But here's what's ironic. Michael says Lindsay did text him that she wanted him to help smooth things over with the bouncers from Trousdale, the club she was reportedly banned from after allegedly throwing a glass at Sam Ronson.

What a mess.

Donald Trump tells TMZ Bret Michaels is in "big, big trouble and the prognosis is not great."


Michaels is a contestant on this season's "Celebrity Apprentice" and, ironically, Trump says Michaels' scrappiness is the best thing he has going for him.

As Trump put it, "He turns out to be an amazing competitor and ultimately that is the thing that could save his life."

Trump, who is in touch with people in the hospital where Michaels remains in critical condition, thinks Michaels' fall on stage back in 2009 -- where he hit his head -- may have something to do with the recent turn of events, though we can't confirm this from Michaels' people.

One of Lindsay Lohan's former close friends tells TMZ virtually all of her friends have just thrown in the towel.

The ex-pal, who requested anonymity but we know was very close to Lindsay, says, "talking to Lindsay is like talking to a wall -- and if you ever say anything negative to her, she cuts you off."  The friend described her as "a lost cause."

As for getting Lindsay help, the friend says several of Lindsay's buddies have tried reaching out to her mother, Dina -- but mama is in denial.

Michael Lohan tells TMZ tomorrow is D-day for Lindsay Lohan -- either meet with him or he's going to court.  But the meeting now has a curious string attached.


Michael says he's been communicating with Lindsay since he went on TMZ Live last Thursday -- telling her he will not take legal action to protect Ali from Lindsay nor will he go to court for a Britney-like conservatorship IF she sits down with him face-to-face and hashes things out. 

Here's the catch.  On TMZ Live, Michael said he wanted to sit with Lindsay and Ali -- just the three of them ... no one else.  Now he's telling us he wants to sit with Lindsay and his lawyer.  BUZZKILL.

Last Michael told us, he was hiring attorney Lisa Bloom -- a very good, very smart lawyer, and daughter of Gloria Allred.  Lisa also just happens to work for an entertainment TV show.

So why suddenly throw a high-profile lawyer in the middle of a father/daughter heart-to-heart?  And where's Ali Lohan in all of this?

Will Lindsay meet with Michael?  Will Michael go to the L.A. County Department of Children and Family Services to get Ali out of Lindsay's clutches?  Will Michael try and become the 2010 version of Jamie Spears by becoming conservator/father of the year?  Will Michael leave town?  Will Michael go to Hyde tonight?

Kate Gosselin's new TLC show "Kate Plus 8" is all systems go -- because the local Department of Labor says the kiddies have been cleared to continue their careers as reality TV stars.


A rep for the Pennsylvania Dept. of Labor and Industry tells TMZ the correct paperwork for the show was submitted and approved ... and said, "The proper steps have been taken and the kids are permitted for 'Kate Plus 8.'"

But according to the rep, nothing has been submitted for Kate's other TLC spin-off "Twist of Kate" -- which could mean the kiddies may not be joining Kate on that one.

That's probably a good thing ... because 5-year-olds shouldn't have to work two jobs.
