Georgia Athletic Director Sorry For Giving Ludacris Condoms ... To Perform at Football Game

Published | Updated

The University of Georgia's athletic director has apologized for "mistakes" in booking talent to perform at sporting events -- and it's obvious he was talking about the Magnum condoms and booze he gave to Ludacris last month.

Long story short, after Ludacris performed at the school's spring football game in April, his rider was obtained by CBS Sports ... which showed Luda demanded things like vodka, fruit roll-ups and Trojan Magnum condoms.

Luda was also paid $65k for a 15 minute performance.

Good times.

But according to OnlineAthens, UGA athletic director, Greg McGarity, finally addressed the issue during a board meeting Wednesday -- and, while not mentioning Ludacris directly, it was obvious what he was talking about.

"I do want to take this opportunity to apologize to our board for mistakes we made with certain aspects of the details of an entertainment agreement," McGarity said.

"Few things in my professional life have bothered me more than this situation. There are no reruns in life so we need to turn the page, learn from our mistakes and do everything we can to make sure errors of this nature do not reoccur."

Miesha Tate Ronda's Emotionally Unstable

Published | Updated

Miesha Tate says Ronda Rousey is "somewhat emotionally unstable" -- and says it explains why the UFC legend went off on Paige VanZant at a party last month.

Tate appeared on Rush Fight Club on SiriusXM -- and went off about the issue when asked about the April encounter, when Rousey cussed out PVZ for congratulating Holly Holm after UFC 193.

"I think Ronda is somewhat emotionally unstable and I think that's been characteristic for a long time," Tate said.

"Doesn't mean she fights any worse for it. I'm not knocking her as an athlete but emotionally she's just got some things that are a little bit strange and I think that that was one of them."

Tate says the incident brought her even closer with VanZant -- despite the fact Tate says she would've handled the encounter in a much different way.

"This is why I feel like I identify with Paige more. She's so kind and when this whole thing happened she was like, 'We're emotional beings and hopefully I can make it right with Ronda,' and she's still such a sweetheart but I'm not that way."

"When Ronda does things like that to me I'm just like, 'No, eff you.' I'm not gonna bow down and not say how I feel."

Baylor School Officials 'Retaliated' Against Sexual Assault Accuser

Published | Updated

This is disgusting ...

Baylor University officials actively discouraged possible sexual assault victims from reporting incidents against athletes -- and in one case RETALIATED against a woman who did.

It's all part of an investigation by a law firm hired by Baylor to look into alleged misconduct by school officials regarding SEVERAL violent allegations against student athletes, primarily football players.

The report states clear as day ... investigators say University administrators directly discouraged complainants from reporting or participating in student conduct processes ... contributing to a hostile environment.

Baylor Football Head Coach Fired Alleged Mishandling of Player Rape Accusations

Published | Updated

Baylor football head coach Art Briles has been fired -- in the midst of allegations that several of his football players were accused of sexual assault on his watch ... but essentially no action was taken by the school.

Baylor president Ken Starr has also been removed from his position -- and will instead serve as Chancellor "on terms that are still being discussed."

Additional members of the administration and athletics program have also been dismissed.

The school issued a statement saying an investigation by an independent law firm "revealed a lack of strong institutional management and control on a number of levels."

ESPN's "Outside the Lines" had reported that several Baylor officials, including coaches, knew about violent allegations against football players -- but essentially did nothing. ESPN points out that most of the accused players didn't miss a single second of playing time.

“We were horrified by the extent of these acts of sexual violence on our campus," said Richard Willis, chair of the Baylor Board of Regents.

"This investigation revealed the University's mishandling of reports in what should have been a supportive, responsive and caring environment for students."

The law firm, Pepper Hamilton, found "specific failings within both the football program and Athletics Department leadership, including a failure to identify and respond to a pattern of sexual violence by a football player, to take action in response to reports of a sexual assault by multiple football players, and to take action in response to a report of dating violence."

"Pepper’s findings also reflect significant concerns about the tone and culture within Baylor’s football program as it relates to accountability for all forms of athlete misconduct."

Briles took the job in 2008 and led the Bears to BCS bowl games in 2013 and 2014.

Toronto head coach Dwane Casey played down the alleged casino run when asked about it after the game. "This isn’t why we lost ... This is the NBA, they’re grown men."

This ain't the first time NBA players got ROCKED following a late-night before a game.

Boise State Football 2 Players Expelled After Sexual Assault Investigation

Published | Updated

Two Boise State football players have been expelled from the school -- and another player has been suspended for a year -- in the wake of sexual assault allegations against them.

The school launched an investigation after the alleged victim claimed she was forced into performing oral sex on all three players during incidents last year, this according to the Idaho Statesman.

Redshirt freshman linebacker Marquis Hendrix and redshirt freshman corner Donzale Roddie were expelled. Redshirt freshman safety Darreon Jackson has been suspended.

The woman reportedly told investigators the men essentially trapped her (blocking doors) on different occasions, and intimidated her into performing oral sex.

All three men have denied wrongdoing -- with Jackson saying, "nobody forced her to do anything.”

BSU issued a statement saying, "Boise State is committed to thorough and fair investigations into all allegations of sexual misconduct -- and to holding parties accountable when they are found to be responsible for violating the student code of conduct."

So far, no criminal charges have been brought against any of the players.

A rep for the Boise PD tells us, "The Boise Police department has not received a report concerning Marquis Hendrix, Donzale Roddie and Darreon Jackson and there is no current investigation."

Kermit Washington Faces 45 Years In Prison ... For Screwing Needy Africans

Published | Updated

Ex-NBA All-Star Kermit Washington faces 45 YEARS in prison for allegedly running a scheme where he stole hundreds of thousands of dollars that were SUPPOSED to help needy people in Africa ... officials say.

TMZ Sports broke the story ... the 64-year-old was arrested at an L.A. supermarket on Tuesday for running a scheme to steal from an African charity he started to fund his lavish lifestyle.

Long story short ... officials say Washington would induce people, including several former pro athletes, to donate to Project Contact Africa, telling them 100% of the money would benefit a clinic in Africa for needy families.

Instead, the Dept. of Justice says he stole "hundreds of thousands of dollars" to pay for everything from rent to vacations, jewelry and entertainment.

Translation -- what a scumbag (allegedly).

He's been charged with several crimes including corrupt interference with tax laws, conspiring to commit wire fraud, obstruction and aggravated ID theft.

If convicted on all charges, Washington is looking at 45 years in prison -- though it's more likely he'd strike a plea deal and serve significantly less time (if any at all).

Washington has been released on bond -- but had to surrender his passport and wear a GPS device so authorities can keep track of him.
