A self-professed Kim Kardashian hater turned himself in to cops for trashing a bookstore display of one of her books.

Carl Puia was charged Monday with third-degree criminal mischief. The 74-year-old man walked into a Barnes & Noble back in October and destroyed 6 of Kim's "Selfish" books with a red dyed liquid.

Puia also left a lengthy note bashing the Glastonbury, CT bookstore for selling any Kardashian-related materials ... according to the Hartford Courant. Police tell us they weren't aware Puia was the perpetrator and were not actively searching for him.

He was released without posting bail.

Ty Lawson has some serious explaining to do ... because officials in Denver believe the Sacramento Kings star violated his probation and are gunning for a warrant, TMZ Sports has learned.

Lawson is currently on probation stemming from his 2015 drunk driving case in Denver -- but the Denver Probation Dept. has filed a complaint seeking to revoke his probation citing a potential violation.

Officials would not say what the alleged violation is ... but confirmed to TMZ Sports that a bench warrant has been requested so they can bring Lawson to court for a hearing on the matter.

We're told a judge has not signed off on the warrant at this point.

Some of the requirements of Lawson's probation -- which was scheduled to end on March 22 -- included monitored sobriety, 48 hours of community service, 52 hours of therapy and no marijuana use.

Vic Mensa got pulled over for a traffic violation, but ended up spending the night in jail for having a gun in his car with a permit -- the wrong one, allegedly.

The Roc Nation rapper was stopped in Beverly Hills last week for running a stop sign and having tinted windows ... according to law enforcement sources. We're told he informed cops he had a gun in his car and showed them his concealed carry permit. The problem is ... cops say the permit is for another state.

According to the police report ... Vic was arrested and booked on a felony count of carrying a concealed weapon. After one night in jail, he was released on $35,000 bail.

Robin Thicke and Paula Patton have decided it's better to get along than wage war, and that's why they are on the verge of settling the mega custody war.

Sources familiar with the situation tell us, Robin and Paula are far along in working out the details of their custody arrangement.

TMZ broke the story ... Paula got a restraining order against Robin after their 6-year-old son, Julian, complained to school officials his dad was using excessive physical force. Robin was limited to 3 visits a week with a court-appointed monitor present.

Cops have been called and accusations hurled, including Paula's claim Robin was trying to influence the monitor by giving him free sushi ... something Robin denied.

They were scheduled to continue their legal battle Monday, but the case was taken off calendar.

Neither side would comment, but we're told they're now very close to resolving custody.

Indianapolis Colts lineman David Parry has been formally charged with multiple felonies for allegedly beating up a taxi cart driver in AZ and stealing the vehicle ... and now prison time is in play.

As we previously reported, Parry was arrested on February 25 after cops say he went on a drunken violent bender in Scottsdale ... in which he also verbally attacked the police.

Now, court docs show Parry has been charged with felony robbery, felony unlawful use of transportation and misdemeanor threats.

If convicted on all counts, Parry could face more than 5 years behind bars.

Hollywood celebrities are being hit left and right by burglars ... but as far as the crooks are concerned they're nobody special, because high-end break-ins are out of control this year.

TMZ broke the story, Dodgers star Yasiel Puig was the latest to be hit, with thieves making off with more than half a mil in jewelry. Other celebs hit include Alanis Morissette, Cesar Millan and Derek Fisher.

Law enforcement tells us ... they believe the celebs were not targeted because they flaunted their jewelry and other riches on social media. The sources say these celebs all live in ritzy areas of L.A., and there has been an influx of criminals because California has recently opened the prison doors.

Recent laws have addressed terrible prison overcrowding by ordering the release of a number of non-violent criminals. There are also drug offenses that have been reduced from felonies to misdemeanors.

Our sources say a number of the people released are burglars, and now that they're out they're going back to what they know. As a result, there has been an explosion of burglaries in the L.A. area.

Tyga was just ordered to pay the steepest cover charge EVER for club-hopping in Vegas ... all because he flaked on a lawsuit.

Tyga got hit for nearly $65,000 in a case where a promoter sued him for allegedly breaking a performance contract. It wasn't hard for the promoter to win ... Tyga never showed up in court.

We broke the story ... Z Entertainment claimed Tyga had signed on with them in 2015 to perform at a show in Vegas, also promising not to perform at competing clubs around the same time frame.

Lo and behold they say Tyga did just that ... not to mention screwing them by being a no-show the year before at another gig.

Seems Tyga has even bigger legal fish to fry in 2017.

Louis Tomlinson is in for a legal battle with the paparazzo he allegedly attacked ... because the guy has sued in the past for a similar incident.

TMZ broke the story ... Karl Larsen -- the photog who says Tomlinson smashed his head on the floor Friday at LAX -- sued a company that produced a Lana Del Rey music vid in 2013, claiming 3 of its employees roughed him up for snapping pics of the shoot.

Larsen was taking photos of LDR near the L.A. river when 3 men from Black Hand Cinema allegedly accosted him. As you can see from the video ... things got pretty intense.

Larsen claimed the men shoved and jerked him and used a box cutter to slice his finger and take his camera ... then made him erase the memory card. He sued for $1 million, but the case was later dismissed ... which is generally code for settlement.

As we reported, Larsen has already lawyered up in the Tomlinson case, hiring Gloria Allred.

The paparazzo who Louis Tomlinson allegedly attacked has gloated that he sometimes berates celebrities and then watches them unravel on camera.

Karl Larsen -- the photog who says Louis smashed his head on the floor at LAX Friday -- went on 'Howard Stern' back in 2010 and boasted about his super aggressive tactics ... in particular his confrontation with Mel Gibson. At the beginning you hear Larsen say, "We're gonna be rich."

Larsen told Stern ... he sometimes lets celebs "dig their own hole."

Gloria Allred tells TMZ she now reps Larsen, though she wouldn't disclose the nature of the representation. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out a civil suit is on the horizon.

As we reported, Tomlinson was arrested and we're told the cops are going to refer the misdemeanor battery investigation to the L.A. City Attorney for possible prosecution.

As for Larsen, he made a name for himself shooting the now-famous photo of Paris Hilton being returned to jail after her DUI/probation violation case back in 2007.

Azealia Banks is a wanted woman after failing to show up in court for her now infamous boob biting case ... TMZ has learned.

Azealia was supposed to be in an NYC courtroom Monday, but never showed up, and we've learned a bench warrant was issued just now.

Cops want to have another chat with Young Thug, this time about whether or not he slapped a woman in the face in a nightclub parking lot ... TMZ has learned.

Police were called to Palace nightclub in Atlanta early Sunday morning to respond to a verbal dispute, which allegedly resulted in the rapper hitting a woman he used to work with -- 27-year-old Valerie Raven, aka Akbar V ... according to the report.

Akbar V claims she was arguing with Thug's fiancee, Jerrika Karlae, in front of the club when YT stepped in ... and slapped her on the left side of her face. Akbar said there were several witnesses, but Thug and Karlae had already left when cops arrived.

Law enforcement sources tell us they want to speak with Young Thug to get his side of the story. Akbar filed a report for battery, but cops say videos they've seen of the altercation don't show him making any contact.

We reached out to a rep for YT ... so far, no word back.

Louis Tomlinson has no worries about his immigration status after getting arrested for allegedly roughing up a paparazzo and a woman at LAX ... even if he's convicted.

We've done some checking and Louis -- who has an entertainer visa -- will not be flagged or blocked from U.S. entry, because even if he's charged ... it will be a misdemeanor "simple" battery.

Under immigration law, Louis' status could be compromised if the crime involves moral turpitude or great bodily harm, but neither applies in this case.

There are countries -- like Canada -- that are super strict and sometimes block people who have even misdemeanors on their records.

Lakers honcho Jeanie Buss came out swinging against her brothers in new court docs -- claiming Jim Buss was a failure in his role with the team and Magic Johnson must undo the "damage" he caused.

Chris Brown's ex-GF, Karrueche Tran, is getting ready to go face-to-face with him in court Thursday, where she'll tell a judge he must be kept away from her for good ... or else he might kill her.

Sources familiar with the situation tell us, she's been trying in vain to serve Chris with the temporary restraining order she got last month, but he's evaded service 3 times.

TMZ broke the story, a judge issued the emergency order requiring Chris to stay away from her after she claimed he was threatening to shoot her and also telling friends ... if he couldn't have her no one else could. She also claimed in her legal docs that he brutalized her, punching her in the stomach and throwing her down the stairs. One of her friends also got a restraining order against Chris last week.

Chris has been insinuating Karrueche is lying, but she's now determined to prove to a judge he's such a threat he should be given an ultimatum ... stay away from her for 3 years, or go to jail.

We're told Karrueche is preparing her case for a permanent restraining order. She's not afraid to take the stand and swear under oath: Chris was as violent to her as he was to Rihanna.

Lira Galore filed a police report and is lawyering up to take down the perps responsible for spreading an old sex tape of her online ... including the bloggers.

The model tells us she already knows who's responsible for dishing out the sex vid starring herself and an ex-boyfriend -- not Rick Ross -- and her legal team's not wasting any time going after them.

She's also trying to keep the mood light over her situation ... and explains the reasoning behind her tweet that some thought was lewd.

Jackie Warner came face-to-face with a cop's gun during her arrest in West Hollywood, and TMZ obtained some intense video of her brief standoff with law enforcement.

The video shows an L.A. County Sheriff's deputy aiming the gun while Jackie is behind the wheel of her car. The deputy's barking commands at Jackie, like ... "stay in the f****** car!" Jackie eventually emerged, in handcuffs, a white t-shirt, and a towel wrapped around her waist.

We broke the story ... the fitness queen crashed her car in WeHo, and when cops showed up things went south. Law enforcement sources say she backed into a patrol car ... forcing a deputy to jump out of harm's way, and leading to what happened in this video.

Jackie was arrested for felony assault with a deadly weapon. As for the towel around her waist ... we're guessing deputies put it on her. She was not wearing pants because, as sources connected to Jackie put it, she was "sleep driving" on Ambien.

8:27 AM -- Jackie's rep tells TMZ, "It is unfortunate that a bystander filmed Jackie without her knowledge and then released that footage to the media in an obvious attempt to humiliate her." The rep goes on, "Jackie was in an extremely vulnerable state, having driven in her sleep after taking doctor-prescribed Ambien."
