Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon have quietly figured out how to remain a family for the sake of their kids ... and they successfully spent the first big holiday together since they separated.

Mariah made it SEEM like Thanksgiving was Cannon free ... posting a pic of her in the foyer of a home.

But we know not only was Nick there ... it was HIS L.A. home.

Our Carey/Cannon sources say their relationship was extremely toxic when they were together, but they actually get along as friends now and both are committed to the welfare of their 3-year-old twins.

We're told Thanksgiving was calm and happy, although Mariah and the kids bolted for a hotel after the meal.

As for how the kids are doing ... we're told they're not really conscious or affected by the separation, because they're used to being cared for by one parent or the other ... interaction with both Mariah and Nick was infrequent over the last 3 years.

Lil Wayne and his ex Toya Wright battled for their daughter's affection this weekend -- and Toya was the clear winner ... because she got their daughter a much cooler ride.

As we previously reported ... Weezy's daughter Reginae Carter was gifted two cars for her 16th birthday -- a Ferrari GTO and a BMW SUV -- but the big question, which parent bought which ride?

Sources close to the family tell us Toya and her husband Memphitz purchased the GTO ... and they had Wayne's blessing before making the purchase.

We're told Wayne, Toya and Memphitz all agreed Reginae was a capable driver who could handle such a powerful car -- even though her day-to-day whip will be the BMW Weezy bought.

Beats having to borrow the family car.

Carrie Mathison from "Homeland" should have been married to Sophie B. Hawkins -- because her kid would have a real parent who actually wanted the kid.

Sophie has just filed legal docs, gunning for custody of her 6-year-old son Dashiell. She shouldn't have any problems, because her soon-to-be ex domestic partner, Gigi Gaston, has already filed her own docs saying she's washing her hands of the whole full-time child rearing thing.

Based on what we see it looks like Gigi will end up with some visitation, but Sophie will take the reins.

50 Cent's son can hoop -- and mixtape footage showing him ballin' out went viral this week -- but Marquise Jackson says sometimes having a famous dad can work against him on the court.

The 18-year-old prep basketball star appeared on "TMZ Hollywood Sports" on Reelz this week and said he's sometimes targeted on the court by rivals looking to make a name for themselves.

But as Marquise says he welcomes the challenge because "at the end of the day I show that I can play."

Jackson says he hopes the publicity from the mixtape can help him lock up a spot with a big college program -- and says he's hopeful he'll land a scholarship.

The UCLA Daily Bruin ran a classified ad Friday seeking an egg donor who looks like Brad Pitt's newly-minted wife.

The company that placed the ad -- Beverly Hills Egg Donation -- presumably has a client who wants their kid to be an outlier.

The ad is specific ... white, tall, slender, the right cheekbones and forehead. Anyone with the right stuff can make $30K for 2 cycles.

Devon Still's baby mama says there's NO court order requiring the Cincinnati Bengals player to pay child support for their cancer-stricken daughter Leah ... but says the two had a "voluntary agreement" which Devon stopped paying in July.

TMZ Sports spoke with Channing Smythe who says the two had worked out an unofficial financial arrangement ... but it fell apart over the summer when Devon wanted Channing and Leah to move to Cincinnati to be near him.

"I don’t feel that it was right for me to move her," Channing says ... "[Delaware] is where all her friends and family are and this is where we have been building our life. He was very upset about that and that’s when he stopped giving me money."

Channing says Devon has been paying for some of Leah's clothes, medical bills and other things -- and she's "grateful" for all of the help -- but says she needs more money from Devon due to Leah's medical condition which prevents her from working.

Channing says she has started the paperwork to get court ordered child support in Delaware -- but so far, they have not reached an agreement.

Channing tells us Devon is a "wonderful father" to Leah and visits her almost weekly -- and takes her to doctor's appointments whenever he can.

Waka Flocka Flame grew up on video games ... but he just met his Mario Kart match -- a 9 year-old boy who LOVES talking crap after beating his ass!

Waka hit up an event for Project Cry No More Wednesday in Compton ... and that's where the rapper was challenged.

Three Dallas Cowboys legends are back on the same sideline ... rooting on their daughters who all play in the same elite youth soccer league ... TMZ Sports has learned.

Emmitt Smith, Tony Dorsett and Charles Haley -- together they have 9 Super Bowls, 17 Pro Bowls and 2 Hall of Fame busts -- and they get together every weekend as soccer dads.

"[Our daughters] are out there ballin', Dorsett tells us ... "The apples don't fall far from the tree."

Tony -- who was inducted into the Hall of Fame in '94 -- says his daughter plays on the same team with Haley's kid ... and even though Emmit's daughter plays on another squad, "They go head to head sometimes."

"When we're together, we talk about football. It's not usually about the old days. We talk about what's going on in the league now," Dorsett says.

Tony says the guys are all very supportive of each other's kids -- "All of the girls are very talented" -- but says Charles' daughter is a star among stars.

Michael Lohan has finally made an honest woman out of GF Kate Major ... but no one alerted his kids.

Lindsay Lohan's old man got hitched Oct. 30th in a private ceremony at Hillsboro Beach in Florida. It was so private neither Lindsay nor Mike Jr. were invited ... or even told.

Here's the thing. When Lindsay finally did find out ... she didn't care.

We're told Michael's motivation was his soon-to-be-born child. This is #2 for Michael and Kate.

Halle Berry just took Gabriel Aubry to court ... claiming he's trying to make their 6-year-old daughter white.

Halle was furious Gabriel was straightening Nahla's naturally-curly hair, lightening it with highlights and she is convinced it's because he does not want the girl to appear to be African American.

Halle didn't show in court Monday morning, but her lawyer Steve Kolodny did, along with Gabriel and after a lot of arguing the judge ruled NEITHER Halle nor Gabriel could change Nahla's look from its natural state.

So the judge is allowing Nahla's hair to grow back naturally.

Robin Thicke must be serious about his new girl ... because she's now hanging out with his kid.

Thicke, his boy Julian and his super young GF April Love Geary were snapped at the USC/UCLA game at the Rose Bowl Saturday night ... where they got a good view of the Bruins whooping the Trojans.

As TMZ first reported, while Thicke has been coy about his dating situation, 19-year-old April has been going full bore, posting photos that were snapped inside Thicke's home.

One thing about April ... she LOVES the spotlight.

Dwight Howard's son has had a rougher time than anyone thought ... the baby mama who reported Dwight to Children's Services for belting their son was herself investigated for the exact same thing.

The Florida Dept. of Children and Families (DCF) got a call in February from 6-year-old Braylon's school, informing authorities the boy had been belted on the back of his neck and leg for using "potty words."

According to docs, baby mama Royce Reed fessed up and said she did indeed belt the boy because he "dropped the f-bomb" in school. Authorities checked out the kid and there were no obvious marks ... she told them she only hit him once with a child fabric belt. The case was closed out, but school officials spoke with Reed and accused her of using excessive force on the child.

TMZ broke the story ... Reed called DCF in August, saying Howard belted Braylon badly ... and Howard subsequently copped to it. Howard is currently the subject of a criminal child abuse investigation for the incident.

Musician Skylar Grey is claiming a 14-year-old street artist has ripped off her name, and she wants him to change it ... or else.

According to a letter obtained by TMZ ... Skylar wants 14-year-old Skyler Grey (with an 'e') to go by a different name because it's causing confusion -- she suggests "Skyler Grey Arthurs" or "Skyler G" or just "SG."

Here's the irony ... Skylar Grey isn't even HER legal name. It's actually Holly Hafermann. Nonetheless, she's already trademarked it and used it in all her videos and marketing.

The REAL Skyler Grey just so happens to be a legit prodigy himself ... he's sold his street art to Snoop Dogg, The Game and other big names.

We're told Skyler the kid refuses to fold.

A seven-year-old boy should be having his birthday at Chuck E. Cheese's, NOT Hooters ... but that's exactly what Dwight Howard's baby mama did for their son's 7th birthday.

"Basketball Wives" star Royce Reed, the boy's mother, posted the photo on her Instagram showing Braylon grinning from ear-to-ear ... and it probably wasn't because of the wings.

As TMZ first reported ... Howard is angling for full custody, while simultaneously being investigated for child abuse.

In court docs, Howard has accused Reed of exposing Braylon to sexual situations. Howard claims his son has witnessed Reed engage in sexual acts with her "numerous companions."

We're told Howard believes this photo is just the latest example of his son being exposed to sex.

A source close to Royce says her son's birthday party was at a Monkey Joe's bounce house earlier in the day -- with his classmates -- and she merely stopped at Hooters for food. The source also says Royce has never had any man in and out of her house, and has never exposed Braylon to sex.

Tyga pulled a no-show for a club appearance when the place shot down his demands to get his underage GF Kylie Jenner into the West Hollywood hot spot.

Sources at Greystone Manor tell TMZ ... Tyga begged and pleaded with promoters to get 17-year-old Kylie admitted -- calling several times throughout the day. We're told he even pushed his arrival time to 1:30 AM while trying to negotiate Kylie's entry.

When the club wouldn't budge -- y'know, because of the law and stuff -- he bailed.

We're told Tyga pulling out of the event pissed off a liquor sponsor in a big way. The club is trying to reschedule, but since the 21-and-over rule isn't changing ... seems pretty hopeless.

They may wanna call him back ... in four years.
