Well actually, our spies first spotted Ross Mathews sitting alone having some drinks while patiently waiting for his gal pal. When G finally arrived, the pair were like two high school girls giggling up a storm.

Paltrow and her pal met four years ago when Ross was sent to London on assignment for "The Tonight Show." He interviewed Gwyneth, they went shopping for posh duds and have been friends ever since.

As Joel left swanky Mr. Chow with girlfriend Nicole Richie, his actions were a marked change from the last time the pair left the swanky joint, when a snarky Madden pushed his way out, causing one female photographer to file a "crime report" claiming that he injured her after shoving her into a car.

Lindsay Lohan celebrated the advent of a Monday night by hitting up at three fiestas in just a single evening, an astonishing feat of fetes, even for the rehabbed party princess.

The wife of Velvet Revolver frontman Scott Weiland was arrested this weekend after cops say she torched the rocker's $10,000 wardrobe in front of the couple's home in Toluca Lake, Ca.

According to police, 31-year-old Mary Weiland was booked for investigation of felony arson vandalism after cops responded to a "female burning clothes" call late Saturday evening.

The couple's two kids were placed in the custody of family friends.

Weiland was booked at a Burbank police station just after midnight Sunday morning and was released after posting $50,000 bail three hours later.

Velvet Revolver frontman Scott Weiland and his wife trashed a Burbank hotel room during a rockstar-caliber rampage last weekend, and now the hotel is pressing charges against the Weilands for the damage they caused.

Sources tell TMZ that Weiland and his wife Mary ripped alarm clocks and phones from their sockets and threw them, made "dents and gauges" in the walls, and that there was even blood found on some of the linens afterward. (A picture taken at the scene shows a note attached to a trash bag that says, in Spanish, "with blood.")

The trouble started when Mary arrived at the hotel Saturday, whereupon the couple got into "a huge argument" witnessed by their two young children, who had to be taken away by Weiland's assistant. Weiland himself then left, leaving behind Mary, who could be heard throwing things in the room. The police were called, and the hotel is pressing charges for the damage caused. There's no word whether either Weiland or his wife were injured in the spat.

Anna Nicole Smith's estranged mother Virgie Arthur is in hot water over alleged unpaid legal bills. She's been summoned to the Bahamas once more because her former attorney Jamal Davis claims she hasn't coughed up the money she owes him.

Davis, who says he helped Arthur obtain an order to keep Dannielynn in the Bahamas while paternity is being determined, told Entertainment Tonight, "We represented her to the best of our abilities. We managed to avoid the child being removed from the Bahamas up until the point of time that we stopped representing her and we haven't received payment for our time and devotion spent on this matter."

"We're just exercising our right as any creditor would do to recover our fees. It's unfortunate we have to take this route," he said.

After a tumultuous reign, former boozer beauty queen Tara Conner passed her Miss USA crown on to Miss Tennessee, Rachel Smith, last night. Conner was almost prematurely dethroned in December, after allegations of wild partying and heavy drinking emerged. It was only after a heartfelt plea to pageant boss Donald Trump and a stint in rehab that Conner was allowed to keep her crown.

Now that it's all over, she told People magazine that, "the reign of Tara was miraculous. Literally, because I got sober during it, and that's the most important thing."

The Donald, too, seems satisfied. "We're very happy with Tara, very proud, and hopefully she will have set the example for many people that have problems with drugs and alcohol."

Conner offered her successor some advice. "Be yourself and put your own flavor on the title" -- just as long as that flavor isn't whiskey, vodka or beer.

Brit singer and new tabloid princess Amy Winehouse is making frenemies with Lindsay Lohan. Lohan was recently seen purchasing a Winehouse CD, and Winehouse, whose star is rising thanks to a song called "Rehab," recently told Giant magazine that she's worried about Lohan. "I want to coddle that girl. I really want to hug her," she said. She then goes on to poke a little fun at Lohan, adding that "I saw pictures of her coming out of the doctor's [office], and she's crying. She's holding papers in her hand, like, 'Oh, it's a note from my liver saying, "Dear Lindsay, I've gone to Vegas!" Winehouse is no teetotaler herself -- she has quite a rep for putting in booze-fueled performances, and in recent weeks she's canceled several concerts, allegedly for alcohol-related reasons. Maybe Winehouse should stick to singing, and leave the stand-up schtick to the pros.

The duo's duet took place at the All-Star Kickoff Party at JET Nightclub at the Mirage, hosted by Diddy and NBA superstar Tracy McGrady. Busta, who was busted last month for allegedly beating up a man back in December, also performed "Touch It," from his current album, "The Big Bang."

The next night, Diddy and Busta rolled back to the $40,000-a-night Hugh Hefner Sky Villa in the Fantasy Tower at the Palms Casino Resort, where they partied with Dave Chapelle, Kendra Wilkinson, Gabrielle Union, and a few bunnies from the Playboy Club. It pays to be rich, biatch.

TMZ has obtained the exclusive VIP keychain membership list at hot NYC nightclub The Plumm, and it's an odd mix of who's who in the Big Apple. A keychain gets you carte blanche access; if you've got one, you and three pals can enter the ultra-exclusive VIP area.

The A-list members include Lindsay Lohan, Bill Maher, Elizabeth Berkley, Ivana Trump (!), Tyra Banks, David Schwimmer and Nora Jones. Plumm doesn't discriminate because of age; Harrison Ford and Janice Dickinson also have chains. And we're not yankin' yours.

Owner Noel Ashman told TMZ, "It's not that simple, you must be approved by one of the co-owners," which include Damon Dash and Joey McIntyre. "The chain is a VIP membership and it's numbered and matched with the a persons ID at the door. Ashman added, "I was once offered $25,000 for one." That's a lotta lettuce for The Plumm, but they're not for sale.

Howard Stern sidekick Artie Lange played to sold-out crowds over the weekend at Luxor in Las Vegas, and was promptly puked on.

After the shows, Artie and fellow Stern sidekicks Reverend Bob Levy and Nick DiPalo headed to Body English, a nightclub at The Hard Rock. Once in the VIP area, Artie egged-on Wee Matt (a little person star in Jeff Beacher's Madhouse comedy show at the Joint) to chug his beer. Wee Matt obliged, then looked up at Artie and vomited on his leg and all over Artie's VIP table.

It all went down at PURE nightclub in Las Vegas two weeks ago. Danny Masterson was the house DJ for the club's two year anniversary party -- he spins under the name DJ MomJeans. Masterson was chilling at a table that included Helio CEO Sky Dayton, the creators of YouTube, and "Alpha Dog" star Emile Hirsch. But Prince wanted Masterson's table for himself -- and what Prince wants, Prince gets.

Masterson and his crew had to scram, but the Purple One did manage to compliment Masterson on his DJ skills before having him evicted from the table. Classy.

When you're a funny, charming and handsome star like Zach Braff, there aren't many women out of your reach, right? Not so much.

A TMZ spy spotted Zach at a party in Hollywood where the "Scrubs" star was trying to sweet-talk one of the female caterers.

He pulled every card he had up his sleeve -- but to no avail. After telling the server how beautiful she was and informing her that he would have her added to the guest list at Hyde, she still kindly refused. Although Braff didn't show any signs of a bruised ego, it had to hurt.

The reconciled BFFs gorged on junk food during one of Justin's slower numbers at L.A.'s Staples center. Paris, seen here leaving her house for the concert, had her hands full with hot dogs, a pretzel and a Red Bull, while Nicole tried to fill out her petite frame with a huge plate of nachos and a soda almost as big as she is. Whatever could JT have meant by that?
