The Rock's Mom Car Smashed by Drunk Driver in Head on Collision

Published | Updated

The Rock says his mom, Ata Maivia-Johnson and his cousin were struck HEAD ON by a drunk driver this week ... and luckily, they survived.

Dwayne Johnson's uncle Afa tells us Ata and Lina Fanene were driving home from a fundraiser their family runs every year -- the Usos Foundation Banquet -- when they were crashed into by the alleged drunk driver.

Both women were rushed to a local hospital and we're told Ata was hospitalized for 3 nights. Afa wouldn't say what injuries the 65-year-old sustained ... but he did tell us it was a very scary scene.

The Rock posted a picture of the crash and his mom's white Escalade -- the one he bought her for Christmas in 2012 -- clearly totaled. Same goes for the other car involved.

Fanene -- who currently works for WWE's NXT division -- posted a photo of the actor/wrestler visiting her in the hospital.

Ata and Lina also posed for a pic in the SUV on August 2nd on their way to the fundraiser.

The Rock tweeted, "First reaction is to find the person who did this and do unrelenting harm to them. But then you realize the most important thing is my family lived thru this and we can hug each other that much tighter these days."

Chad Johnson Domestic Violence Arrest ... Ruined My Career

Published | Updated

Seems Chad Johnson fully understands the consequences of his actions -- saying his 2012 domestic violence arrest didn't just ruin his NFL career ... it also destroyed his legacy.

The former Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver went to Twitter this morning and in an obvious reference to the incident with then-wife Evelyn Lozada wrote, "3 seconds of anger cost me a lifetimes worth of work."

He continued, "I LOVE everything in sight for a reason, those few seconds I stopped doing so."

After Johnson's arrest, he was immediately cut from the Miami Dolphins and was essentially blacklisted from the NFL.

Johnson is now playing ball in Canada ... but it's clear he believes his arrest overshadows his achievements on the gridiron.

Chad then tweeted ... "Now that was a #TBT"

'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' Studio Deletes Offensive 9/11 Tweet

Published | Updated

Paramount Pictures Australia quickly deleted a tweet promoting the new "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" movie ... featuring the turtles falling from an exploding building ... and a release date of 9/11.

The tweet was posted Tuesday morning and it didn't take long for Twitter users to see what apparently the entire marketing department did not. Retweets included: "WOW. Someone's getting fired for this" ... "Did Paramount really think this was a suitable poster for a movie release on September 11th?" and "'Too soon?' 'Nah, who cares.'"

A rep for Paramount Australia tells TMZ, "We are deeply sorry to have used that artwork for the marketing materials promoting the September 11 opening in Australia. Combining that image and date was a mistake. We intended no offense and have taken immediate action to discontinue its use."

'Major Crimes' Star Twitter Criminal Wishes Him Death On Malaysian Jet

Published | Updated

"Major Crimes" star Graham Patrick Martin is being terrorized by a cyber stalker who wished him a violent death aboard one of the doomed Malaysian jets.

Someone has created a Twitter account with Martin's name ... using a different middle initial but making it appear it's the actor's official Twitter account. The impostor is going to town, sending more than 100 tweets a day, in one case tweeting, "How unlucky I wasn't on board Flight 370."

The fake Martin also wrote, "I sure have the likability of a Hitler youth." And the fraud is also bashing the real Martin's girlfriend, tweeting, "I think it's sad dat now at her 30s whore doesn't look older than 80, but tomorrow she'll look like infinity."

The guy has been sending more than 100 tweets a day. Twitter shut down the account but the guy just fired up a new one.

The 22-year-old actor has gone to the LAPD asking for help. He's worried people are confusing the impostor for him, which is hurting his image and scaring him and his family.

LAPD just executed a search warrant on Twitter to get info allowing them to track the guy down and arrest him.

Michelle Beadle Rips ESPN Colleague Over Dom. Violence Comments

Published | Updated

ESPN has a civil (and gender) war on its hands ... as "SportsNation" host Michelle Beadle has lashed out on Twitter at "First Take" host Stephen A. Smith for his comments about domestic abuse.

It began Friday morning when Smith, in the context of the NFL's suspension of Ray Rice, brought up the idea that there are things women can do to prevent themselves from becoming domestic violence victims.

Beadle, who revealed she was once in an abusive relationship, said she "would never feel clean again" after taking in Smith's comments. She wrote, "I'm thinking about wearing a miniskirt this weekend...I'd hate to think what I'd be asking for by doing so @stephenasmith. #dontprovoke"

She added, "Violence isn't the victim's issue. It's the abuser's. To insinuate otherwise is irresponsible and disgusting. Walk. Away."

For his part, Smith did apologize to Beadle and said he "could've been more articulate on the matter."

But he seemed to make the situation worse when he went on to say, "... What about addressing women on how they can help prevent the obvious wrong being done upon them? ... I was simply saying that preventive measures always need to be addressed because there's only but so much that can be done after the fact....once the damage is already done."

Oh, the damage is done alright.

Stephen A. Smith has issued another apology, for his apology. Read it here.

Biggs tweeted his mea culpa moments ago ... saying he's deleted the crash joke from his page because he didn't mean to offend.

Perhaps understanding how strange his sudden 180 sounds ... Biggs said, "No one is making me send these [apology] tweets- I simply understand that my comments might have come off as insensitive and ill-timed. For that, I apologize."

Jason added, "Sending positive thoughts to the victims and their families."

Rihanna I Didn't Even Realize I Tweeted #FreePalestine

Published | Updated

3:45 PM PT -- Rihanna has now tweeted a message praying for peace ... and an end to the conflict in the Middle East.

Rihanna deleted her #FreePalestine tweet 8 minutes after she posted it because she says it was never meant to be sent out in the first place ... a source close to the singer tells TMZ.

One source connected to the situation tells TMZ, "She deleted it because it was never meant to be tweeted," adding, "She didn't even realize it was a tweet until she started hearing from her fans."

The source says Rihanna was reading about the Middle East conflict online when she clicked a link. The next thing she knew ... her fans were asking her why she was pro-Palestine.

The explanation is obviously curious. In order to tweet, someone would either have to type the message or cut and paste it, and then click the "Tweet" button.

Our source says Rihanna is not pro-Palestine or pro-Israel ... "she is pro-peace," saying, "She doesn't want innocent people dying."

So we gotta ask ...

The reality star does have an idea for a fair fight between the animals and the college sophomore.

Still, we gotta ask ...
