Taste of the City Lounge in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, was the site of a deadly shooting in August 2025, where three people were killed and nine more were injured.

And after the dust had settled, it was reported that two of the three men who'd been killed allegedly had ties to a local gang, which had been terrorizing the area in recent years.

We're going to take a look at some of the details of the shooting see what led up to the violent altercation.

One of the shooters, a man named Jamel Childs, was allegedly affiliated with Folk Nation -- a national gang organization dating back to the 1970s -- and New York City Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch stated he'd been listed in a police database as a member of the gang, according to NBC News.

Tisch described the gang as a "violent" group that "terrorizes Brooklyn." The gang's members have are suspected of involvement in six shootings in 2025.

Childs had a criminal history of his own ... he was sentenced to almost eight years in prison after being convicted in 2018 for robbery, according to the New York Daily News. He served part of his sentence before he was let out on parole in 2023.

Although Childs was accused of participating in the shocking event, his friends and family have publicly described him as a "peacemaker" and as an individual who was not inclined to violence.

The accused shooter's friend Rajawn Philips spoke to the New York Daily News and characterized Childs as "a cool dude" who would often try to stop conflicts. He said Childs wasn't one of the usual "knuckleheads" who would try to start trouble at clubs and events. Jamel's brother, Richard Childs Jr., also spoke to the outlet and claimed his brother "wanted to save everyone."

The shooting at Taste of the City Lounge commenced just before 3:30 in the morning on Sunday, August 17 ... Childs was recorded on surveillance video arguing with Marvin St. Louis ... they eventually became separated.

St. Louis reportedly found Childs 10 minutes later and opened fire on him -- Childs and two other men then returned fire with their own guns.

Both Childs and St. Louis were struck multiple times, and they were later both pronounced dead at a local hospital. Another bystander was also shot and killed.

Dak Prescott's got lots to be thankful for these days -- like being the most well-compensated player in the NFL with a cool $60 million annual paycheck!

The Buffalo Bills quarterback was first linked to the actress in May 2023, when they were pictured on what appeared to be a date in New York City.

A source spoke to People the same month and confirmed Josh and Hailee were a couple, stating they had been "having fun" despite their connection being relatively "new" at the time.

The football star waited until the following July to make his relationship with the singer Instagram official -- although hey, they set things in stone not long after then!

Hailee and Josh let their fans know they were planning on getting married in November 2024, when they shared photos from his proposal on their respective Instagram accounts.

There was just one more thing to do before the nuptials, though -- they made their red carpet debut as a couple at the 14th NFL Honors ceremony in February 2025.

Sha'Carri Richardson's earned herself lots of fans over the years ... and it looks like her boyfriend Christian Coleman is part of that group.

Richardson, an Olympic track and field star, and Coleman, a sprinter, became a well-known couple within the athletic world ... although a troubling incident at an airport sparked speculation about the state of their relationship within their respective fan bases.

We're going to take a look at Coleman's background ... and see how his girlfriend responded after facing backlash for her troubling actions.

Coleman's originally from the Atlanta area of Georgia, and he attended college at the University of Tennessee, where he majored in sports management, according to the school's official website.

The sprinter joined the institution's track and field program, and he competed in numerous events over the length of his college career.

He won plenty of awards while competing with the Volunteers, and he became the NCAA Indoor 60-meter champion in 2017.

Coleman's professional career began later in 2017, when he decided to forgo his last year of eligibility with the University of Tennessee and signed an endorsement deal with Nike.

Coleman raised his public profile further when he began competing internationally, and he became world champion in the 100-meter dash at the 2019 World Athletics Championships.

The thing is, his career briefly came to a halt in 2019 when he was issued a two-year ban from competition in 2020 after racking up three Whereabouts failures for anti-doping tests over the course of a 12-month period.

Coleman's ban was eventually reduced to 18 months, according to Sports Illustrated, although it still prevented him from competing at the Tokyo Summer Olympics in Japan.

He eventually returned to competition, and he made an appearance at the 2023 World Athletics Championship in Budapest, Hungary.

Coleman was photographed embracing Richardson at the Championship, and they eventually began dating.

However, friction between the two became apparent when Ricardson got physical with her boyfriend during a trip through the Seattle-Tacoma airport in Washington in July 2025, and she was caught calling him a "coward" on camera.

The Olympic gold medalist was ultimately charged with fourth-degree domestic violence assault and spent almost an entire day in jail before she was released.
