12:10 PM PT -- El hombre detrás de la nueva "alerta ébano" en California está defendiendo la nueva ley, ante la avalancha de reacciones en línea, diciendo que las disparidades y la falta de recursos para los niños negros desaparecidos ha forzado a los legisladores a actuar.

El senador estatal de California Steven Bradford se unió a nosotros en "TMZ Live" el martes y nos dijo que la ley era necesaria porque la aplicación actual no estaba haciendo su trabajo cuando se trata de emitir alertas para los jóvenes negros que desaparecen.

Bradford dice que los jóvenes negros representan el 38% de las personas desaparecidas del estado, a pesar de que la comunidad representa el 13% de la población estatal. Los datos son un ejemplo de por qué es necesaria una alerta de este tipo.

También hay un componente mediático. Bradford dice que los niños negros que se extravían no reciben ni de lejos la misma cobertura, señalando el caso de Gabby Petito en 2021.

Los legisladores también están argumentando que este nuevo sistema alentará a los medios a informar sobre la desaparición de personas de esas comunidades.

El problema es que muchos están reclamando que NO debiesen existir sistemas de alerta separados para los niños desaparecidos, en función de la raza, con algunos diciendo que el cambio es solo un medio para que las autoridades "decidan la rapidez con que quieren responder" o bien, que estos simplemente ignorarán las "alertas ébano" por completo.

Los legisladores de California están siendo criticados por no haber pensado en esto y muchos se preguntan si existirán alertas para otras razas también. Un usuario, por ejemplo, propuso la "alerta Juan" para los hispanos que desaparezcan.

A pro-Palestinian protest in Australia had 1,000 supporters take to the Sydney Opera House ... chanting antisemitic slogans towards those in Israel like "Gas the Jews."

The crowd marched through downtown Sydney Monday evening, heading to the steps of the world-famous theater -- which Australian officials had lit the colors of the Israeli flag after the country was first attacked by Hamas terrorists on Saturday.

Anti-Semitic chants were heard throughout the protest -- apart from "Gas the Jews," they were also chanting "F*** the Jews" while flying Palestinian flags.

The group lit flares in the middle of the crowd and even appeared to throw what looked like a smoke grenade toward officers stationed on the Opera House steps.

Australia's Prime Minister Anthony Albanese called Monday's protest "horrific," adding, "I understand that people have deep views about issues relating to the Middle East conflict but here in Australia we have to deal with political discourse in a respectful way."

New South Wales police said Tuesday the footage is being investigated to determine if any crimes were committed.

The longtime 'Extra' host fumed over Governor Gavin Newsom recently signing AB 418 into law -- which has become known as the "Skittles ban" ... although that's a little misleading over what this actually requires in California going forward.

Essentially, the law requires companies selling food in the state to remove certain additives ... which CA now deems harmful. One of the big-ticket chemicals being targeted is Red Dye 3 -- prominently found in Skittles -- and corporations have until 2027 to get their act together.

That's not how it's been advertised though -- many are falsely peddling this new law as an outright ban of Skittles, and it seems ML got ticked off over a social media headline.

He writes, "Crime is through the roof, worst drug epidemic ever & homelessness at an all time high in CA… Let’s focus on Skittles." Mario's criticism actually got a lot of praise in the comments, with folks saying he was right to point out the priorities seem out of whack.

Others, however, noted that this is actually a good thing ... and will help keep Californians safer in the long run. There've been a number of concerns over these now-banned additives in food -- which were never approved by the FDA, to begin with -- including cancer fears.

So, in other words ... Mario can still have his Skittles if he wants 'em -- not that he looks like he eats much of them, anyway. Tasting the rainbow ain't going anywhere!

Playboy sent out an email to its subscribers Monday, after Mia expressed her pro-Hamas thoughts online -- the company said, "Mia has made disgusting and reprehensible comments celebrating Hamas’ attacks on Israel and the murder of innocent men, women and children."

It goes on to say the company encourages free speech and expression ... but adds, "We have a zero-tolerance policy for hate speech." Playboy says it's terminated its relationship with her, "including deleting Mia’s Playboy channel on our creator platform."

The former porn star-turned-influencer has been scrubbed from the company's Centerfold platform ... her page has been replaced with a simple "Not Found" graphic.

As we reported, Mia caught heat over the weekend, as Israel was being attacked by Hamas terrorists ... writing things like, "Tell the freedom fighters in Palestine to flip their phones and film horizontal."

Despite the hate she got, Mia doubled down -- writing, "I’d say supporting Palestine has lost me business opportunities, but I’m more angry at myself for not checking whether or not I was entering into business with Zionists."

Gunplay is getting more fallout from his alleged domestic abuse drama -- sources with direct knowledge tell TMZ Hip Hop the MMG rapper recently lost custody of his newborn daughter.

The courts made the final decision Monday ... a decision that can only be reversed if his estranged wife Vonshae Taylor-Morales requests the court grant him custody, which seems unlikely, considering the alarming chain of events that dissolved their marriage.

We're told Gunplay is only permitted to see his daughter virtually through an app called TalkingParents ... and visits have to be set and monitored by the court.

Per the source, Vonshae is also requesting child support, and the amount he pays will be determined during a later court date.

The embattled rapper has missed 3 previous hearings regarding the temporary restraining order Vonshae currently has against him. If he misses the next one, the TRO will become permanent, and it will keep him away from their daughter until she's 18.

As we reported in August, Gunplay was charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, false imprisonment, and child abuse following an explosive fight in their home where cops were called.

As videos continue to come out showing the terror in the middle east, another has surfaced highlighting the innocent people who were killed ... living and enjoying their lives before evil swept in.

Young music festivalgoer Shani Louk danced with a big smile on her face around friends near the Gaza Strip over the weekend without a care in the world. Of course, Shani had no idea only minutes later terrorists would attack, kill, and kidnap hundreds at the festival.

Louk was tragically taken by Hamas terrorists and murdered -- her naked body was then paraded through the streets in the back of a pickup truck, displaying her multiple broken bones as onlookers spat on her dead body.

Her mother, Ricarda, has spoken out online after Louk's horrifying death made the rounds online ... pleading for anyone with info to come forward -- adding she's already seen the brutal video of her daughter.

Ricarda says her daughter -- who is German but grew up in Israel -- went to the festival with a group of tourists.

The so-called "QAnon Shaman" remains steadfast in his support of Donald Trump ... despite doing hard time in federal prison for his part in the Jan. 6 Capitol riot.

Jacob Chansley, easily the most recognizable Capitol rioter, says he's still on Team Trump ... and he's not blaming the former president for the insurrection, or the prison sentences he and others received.

In his first interview since being released early from prison, Chansley told Channel 5 with Andrew Callaghan the riot wasn't Trump's fault in the slightest ... he says Trump should NOT be "blamed for the actions of free citizens."

The way Chansley sees it ... the rioters made their own individual decisions to storm the Capitol and Trump had no responsibility to bail them out or pardon them before leaving office.

The one thing Trump could've done, Chansley says, was start a legal defense fund for the Capitol rioters.

As we reported ... Chansley, who stormed the Capitol in a Viking-style outfit, copped a plea deal with prosecutors and pled guilty to obstructing an official proceeding before Congress ... after initially being arrested for knowingly entering/remaining in a restricted building or grounds without lawful authority, among other counts.

Chansley was sentenced to 41 months in federal prison ... but he got out early after about 16 months, reportedly for good behavior, and now he's back home in Arizona.

Former porn star-turned-influencer Mia Khalifa is catching heat online after voicing support for the people of Palestine on the heels of the deadly Hamas attacks that sparked the intensifying war with Israel.

Mia shared her controversial thoughts online over the weekend, as Israel declared a state of war after the Hamas attack ... saying a slew of things not in favor of the people of Israel.

She tweeted, "Can someone please tell the freedom fighters in Palestine to flip their phones and film horizontal," and, "I just wanna make sure there’s 4k footage of my people breaking down the walls of the open air prison they’ve been forced out of their homes and into so we have good options for the history books."
