Kate Major will spend Thanksgiving behind bars and has a date tomorrow with a federal judge, who will ask her how she wants to plead in a case involving out-of-control behavior on a plane.

TMZ broke the story ... Kate was flying from Ft. Lauderdale to L.A. Michael Lohan's troubled estranged wife was apparently drinking in the Ft. Lauderdale airport bar and both she and the plane fueled up before takeoff ... she gassed up on shots.

We're told once in the air, Kate went nuts first on a passenger and then on flight attendants ... all over leg room.

The plane was diverted to New Orleans where Kate was met by airport police and then turned over to the FBI.

9:00 PM PST -- A law enforcement official tells TMZ once the plane landed, Kate was turned over to the FBI.

Michael Lohan's estranged wife Kate Major was wasted on a plane, and ended up getting busted by cops in New Orleans ... TMZ has learned.

Sources on the plane say Major was hauled off a JetBlue flight after she allegedly threatened flight attendants and other passengers during an argument over legroom. The flight was headed to L.A., but the pilot put it down in New Orleans when Major got out of hand.

Police officers walked her off the plane. It's unclear if she was arrested or booked for anything.

The saddest part of Kate's mid-air bender -- we're told she was flying to L.A. to enter a 30 day live-in rehab program.

John Stamos just pled no contest in his DUI case ... TMZ has learned.

Stamos was arrested in June after Bev Hills cops saw him driving erratically. He was in such bad shape he was taken to the hospital. As we reported, Stamos was under the influence of GHB and another non-narcotic drug.

Under the plea deal, Stamos was placed on 3 years probation and must complete 52 AA meetings in the next year. He's also required to get 2 hours of drug and alcohol counseling.

We spoke with a staff member at the RIO who confirmed Manziel was at the bar on Thursday night.

Stevie J just avoided going back to jail, but there's a catch ... he's going to rehab instead.

Stevie was in court last week for his child support case so the judge could decide whether to revoke his bail for failing a recent drug test. Luck was on Stevie's side -- instead of locking him up, the judge ordered him to enroll in an outpatient drug treatment program.

Under the order, Stevie must report to a facility twice a week and comply with drug testing.

Avril Lavigne is a great pal ... opening her doors to Ryan Cabrera and not charging him a cent.

The two had been spotted around LA together, sparking a bunch of dating rumors ... truth is, they're just longtime pals.

We're told Ryan's former girlfriend kicked him to the curb because of his hardcore boozing, and that's when Avril opened her doors.

Avril's been known to take care of guys with drinking problems ... she was married to Sum 41 frontman Deryck Whibley, and his out-of-control drinking reportedly caused the split.

Ty Lawson may not have a long season ... he just pled guilty to charges stemming from his January drunk driving arrest.

The Rockets point guard was arrested in January after he was pulled over by police in Denver. The cops smelled alcohol and said he had slurred speech ... Ty ultimately failed his field sobriety test.

Ty pled guilty to driving while ability impaired, as well as failure to drive in a single lane. He faces up to 180 days in jail.

The Denver incident is not his only arrest this year. He was pulled over and arrested this summer in LA and went to rehab afterwards. He's due in court next week for that charge.

Kyle Richards does not see any looming danger now that her sister Kim is back on 'Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,' despite the fact that there's booze on the set.

Justin Timberlake was on his game -- his country game, his drinking game, and his trash talking game -- as he walked out of a Chris Stapleton concert in L.A. ... and the video is HILARIOUS!

Lamar Odom is now in the crosshairs of prosecutors who may file cocaine possession charges against him, but if they do, it could be a first for the D.A., which raises troubling questions.

Nye County D.A. Angela Bello says her office is considering filing criminal charges against Lamar -- either possession of coke or being under the influence of a controlled substance.

We've done some checking, and we were unable to find a single case in Nye County where someone OD'd, landed in the hospital, and was prosecuted for drug possession.

An official from the Nye County Sheriff's office tells us they have definitely referred such cases to the D.A., but the official does not know of any cases that have actually been prosecuted.

We contacted the D.A. and asked if they ever prosecuted someone who ended up in the hospital after OD'ing on drugs, but we could find none.

What's particularly troublesome with Lamar ... as we reported, he's unable to walk, can barely speak and has substantially impaired cognitive function. He may not even be competent to stand trial.

Justin Bieber got all kinds of crazy celebrating his album release Thursday night -- so crazy, he downed a whole bottle ... of beer.
