He suffered a stroke Thursday night and was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medial Center.

Jimmy Delshad, former two-time mayor of Beverly Hills, confirmed the news via Twitter: "It is with sadness in my heart that I share the terrible news of Bijan passing away. May he rest in peace."

According to sources Bijan was transported to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center Thursday evening. On a Facebook post Friday night, Bijan's son Nicolas said his father had "a stroke."

The 67-year old remains hospitalized, and according to Nicolas ... Bijan is "in critical condition."

TMZ has learned the necklace designer sold Kamofie & Co. the piece for $850 -- that price tag does not qualify for felony grand theft, which requires a value of $950 or more.

Kamofie was trying to sell the necklace to Lindsay for $2,500 bucks.

As we first reported, we're told Lindsay's lawyer, Shawn Holley, will argue the D.A. should only be allowed to charge her client with a misdemeanor because of the value of the necklace.

But even if Holley loses that argument, Kamofie's owner -- who we're told will be testifying at Lindsay's preliminary hearing -- is going to have a PR problem for the mark-up and for selling the surveillance video and shopping a book deal.

Shakira's publicist, Joseph Carozza, tells us, “There is no truth to this report. A fan grabbed her hand and she looked down. Her ring is still visible on her hand as she continued to walk through the crowd.”

Case closed.

Sources close to Kim tell us she struggled with the decision to work with Cosmo again -- because even though she has an "amazing relationship" with the magazine ... she's very passionate about her Armenian heritage.

Kim was upset because Cosmo didn't ask her permission to run the controversial cover -- it's controversial because Kim is Armenian and the Turks committed genocide against her people nearly 100 years ago ... and still refuse to acknowledge it.

Fact is, Kim didn't even know about the Turkish magazine cover until TMZ posted it yesterday.

We're told Kim's team and Cosmo talked things out Monday and Kim decided to let bygones be bygones ... and another photo shoot could take place as early as this week.

We're told Kim -- an Armenian-American who has been vocal about the genocide -- did an international photo shoot that went to various magazines published by Cosmo, but she didn't know it would end up on the Turkish version of the mag.

Sources say Cosmo let Kim's people know which international outlets of the magazine would use her picture -- but we're told Cosmo never mentioned Turkey to Kim or her reps. Our sources say Kim would never have approved the use of her pic in the Turkish version.

Rubbing salt in the wound ... April 24 is the day Armenians commemorate the genocide -- just weeks after her pic was splashed on the cover of Turkish Cosmo.

We contacted Cosmo for a statement ... and here's what they told us -- “Kim Kardashian is one of our favorite cover girls. We were thrilled to have the opportunity to photograph her for the Cosmopolitan editions worldwide.”

After her overdose/suicide attempt last year, it's good to see 'Tasia back on her feet again.

As John got off his plane, a random photographer (not a TMZ guy) -- shouted at Galliano, "F**king racist."

Galliano -- who issued an apology for the rant back in March -- didn't say one word to reporters as he walked through the airport ... but he WAS wearing a stupid hat.

It's a BIG STATEMENT -- because just last week, Hilton was sued by an insurance company for not returning $60,000 in jewelry she borrowed from Damiani Jewellers back in 2007 ... jewelry that was jacked from Hilton's home by the Burglar Bunch.

The company thinks Hilton is LYING about not being in possession of the bling -- because they believe cops recovered the Damiani pieces and gave it back to Paris ... who then FAILED to give it back to Damiani.

The company also alleges Hilton agreed to keep the jewelry in a safe when she wasn't wearing it ... but instead of locking it up, Paris simply tucked it away in her closet.

You may remember -- Hansons Auctioneers and Valuers wanted to buy the royal bloomers from the estate of the late "Baron" Joseph de Bicske Dobronyi -- who got the panties after the Queen left them on a plane in 1968.

TMZ spoke with Charles Hanson -- who tells us, "Out of respect and courtesy for a person of such dignity and rank," he doesn't want the deal to go down until after the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton.
