'RHOC' Elizabeth Lyn Vargas Puts Desert Oasis Back On Market ... Nearly $9M After Renovations
-
Exclusive

'RHOC' alum Elizabeth Lyn Vargas has put her beautiful desert home back on the market after makin' some changes ... and the spot could be yours if you have nearly $9 million to spend.
TMZ broke the story, Elizabeth first put the Palm Springs-area spot for sale in March 2022, but it looks like no one chomped down on the $9.95 million price tag.
We're told she's since made some major renovations to the property -- including a full exterior paint job and a complete redo of the kitchen. It's now back on the market, but she's only asking for $8.995 mil -- that's a million less than previous.
The 10,000-square-foot home is located in the gated community of La Quinta Polo Estates and comes with landscaped gardens and greenery that surround a large koi pond with over 300 fish.
It's got 6 bedrooms and 8 bathrooms, and the property's covered with sweet perks like a sparkling pool, tennis court and loads of fruit trees.
The sale is staying in the 'Real Housewives' family ... 'cause current 'RHOC' housewife Gina Kirschenheiter and Dave Archuletta -- no, not that one -- of First Team Real Estate hold the listing.

Brie Larson Late Press Not Enough ... To Save 'The Marvels' Box Office
Brie Larson was able to do a last-minute press push to plug her new Marvel movie -- this after the SAG-AFTRA strike ended -- but not even that could salvage ticket sales.
The actress -- who plays the lead in "The Marvels" -- got the green light from Kevin Feige and co. to hit the red carpet for the debut of their latest superhero flick ... not to mention a TV spot on 'The Tonight Show' with Jimmy Fallon, which squeezed her in in the 11th hour.
Her late-night appearance went about as well as you could imagine ... she talked about the movie, the director, the studio -- everything you could want mentioned ahead of a film's release. Unfortunately, though ... that doesn't seem to have boosted interest in her project.
Per box office estimates, "The Marvels" is on pace for an awful domestic opening -- by Marvel's standards -- with experts saying it's on pace to snag between $47-$52 million.
Between Thursday previews and Friday's full slate of screenings, the movie's only raked in $21.5 million ... marking the second-lowest Marvel opening day gross behind the original 'Hulk' movie that came out way back in 2008, before Disney even snapped up the IP.
The reason this is extra ugly is the fact that the first 'Marvel' movie that starred Brie -- mind you, this is a sequel -- actually cleaned up among theater-goers ... bringing in over a billion dollars worldwide in 2019. Now, 4 years later -- not nearly the same interest.
The question ... was it the content, or lack of marketing that torpedoed "The Marvels" here? It didn't really get a chance to get much chatter on account of the actors' strike that was going on up until just a few days ago -- so it's possible folks simply didn't know about it.
Of course, the other possibility is that there's superhero film fatigue -- and Marvel movies just aren't the cash cow they used to be. If that's the case ... it could be a sign of trouble.

Brie Larson La prensa tardía no basta...

The Iceman won't be showing his icicle on OnlyFans anytime soon ... 'cause even though fellow former UFC fighter Paige VanZant is making a killing by ditching her clothes, Chuck Liddell tells TMZ Sports he's simply not about that life.
PVZ has been making a fortune on the subscription platform ... recently revealing she raked in more dough in one day than she did throughout her whole MMA career.
We spoke with the former champ out at LAX this week about Paige's thriving new venture ... and he's thrilled for the fighter-turned-model.
"That's awesome, that's good for her. I'm excited for her," Chuck told us. "I'm glad she's doing it. She's a cool girl."
While Liddell has nothing but love for Paige, he says he won't be following in her feet pics footprints.
"No, but thank you, though," Chuck said with a laugh.
All silliness aside, we talked about UFC 295 and the big matchup between Jiří Procházka and Alex Pereira ... and he spills on who he's got in the interim light heavyweight bout.
"It's gonna be a fun fight, that's an exciting fight. Can't miss that one."

Trinidad James Taylor & Ashanti Earned Right to Rerecord ... Music Biz a Dicey Game!!!
-

Trinidad James is straddling the fence on record labels' decision to block artists from rerecording their music. but does think their primary reason for doing so -- Taylor Swift -- should be allowed to keep cookin' the system!!!
Ditto for Ashanti, who's been actively redoing her Murder Inc. albums in order to nab the biggest piece of the pie for herself!!!
JULY 2022
TMZ Hip Hop got the 567 Agency exec at LAX, and he admits some newer artists might be affected by the rules changes in the wake of Taylor's historic, and financial, victory over her old label.
No male artist charts in the Top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 for the second time in history. pic.twitter.com/dQv4ymQATG
— Pop Base (@PopBase) November 6, 2023 @PopBase
TS is largely responsible for the Billboard Hot 100's top 10 going dude-free twice through the boom of her rerecorded albums -- which labels are down in the dumps over because it devalues the OG master recordings. 🥴
Trinidad argues both Taylor and Ashanti were treated like slaves during their record label tenures ... and he thinks female artists tend to get the short end of the stick in the music biz.
However, speaking for the other side ... TJ says it takes $250K just to get a record off the ground, which is probably why labels are particularly tight with their budgets.
He also echoes the notion the industry needs new blood ... too many garbage A&Rs!!!

will.i.am and Van Jones want minorities to be at the forefront of tech space -- so they hosted a full-blown summit in L.A. to raise awareness for its future leaders.
The shindig was billed "Make Wakanda Real" -- like bringing the gadgets found in "Black Panther" to life -- and was held inside Will's FYI Campus Thursday night.
Tiffany Haddish, Ashton Kutcher, Jason Lee, and Quincy Jones III were just some of the supporting guests, as were dozens of innovators, tech experts and entrepreneurs.
Ashton helped raise hundreds of millions of dollars through his VC firm earlier in the year and stressed to the summit how he believes AI could help bridge the gap for underserved communities in the medical and legal realms.
LinkedIn cofounder Reid Hoffman, actor Boris Kodjoe, InfectionAI co-founder Mustafa Suleyman, Waye Talks founder Sinead Bovell, Black Ambition Opportunity Fund CEO Felecia Hatcher also tuned in virtually to lend their various expertise to the panels.
Naturally, the biggest topic of the evening was the boom of AI ... and the Black Eyed Peas frontman got a crash course during his panel with Van and 1500 Or Nothin' producer Larrance “Rance” Dopson debating with an AI bot!!!
Will was arguing the case that AI could end up sentient and conquering humans and exchanged in back-and-forth banter with the CPU.
Experts are confident they debunked the theory, a point the bot made as well, but the chat still felt real enough!!!

C.T. Tamburello, known from his time on MTV's "The Challenge," has finalized his divorce ... this coming a year after heading to court to pull the plug on their marriage.
According to new docs, obtained by TMZ, C.T. and his ex, Lilianet Solares, reached a settlement earlier this month -- agreeing to split custody of their 7-year-old son, Christopher Jr., and also to evenly divvy up expenses for the child.
But C.T.'s also gonna have to pay Lilianet $761.39 each month in child support ... and an additional $332.45 for each week he is working, and unable to exercise equal timesharing for their little one.
In addition, C.T. keeps their home, but will give Lilianet another $30,000 for her portion of the property's equity -- he'll also retain ownership of his company, New Leaf Investments, and she keeps her business, Solares Management.
TMZ broke the story, C.T. filed for divorce in Florida last November, following a very up-and-down relationship.
Docs filed in September showed they agreed on strict rules when it came to raising their kid -- which included them not being able to ask Christopher Jr. about the other parent while spending time with them.
Also, whichever parent isn't spending time with Christopher Jr is only allowed 2 phone calls a day with the kiddo. Seems they've thought of everything.

KYLE RICHARDS & MAURICIO UMANSKY Not in Couples Therapy It's About Giving Each Other Space

Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky have said they're separating, and we've learned they're doing pretty much everything separately, including therapy.
Sources with direct knowledge tell TMZ ... the estranged couple is not in marriage counseling or couple's therapy. We're told they're both in individual therapy, but nothing together at the same time.
It seems strange on the surface ... that they're not working on the issues that have driven them to separate, but we're told they are not. Multiple sources tell us ... they just want space -- to explore individually.
Our sources also tell us there are still no talks whatsoever of divorcing ... even though Kyle recently referenced their separation as a straight-up divorce, which was an apparent slip of the tongue.
One source in the know tells TMZ ... "Look, they may get back together, but they may not. They just don't know right now. They will decide at some point whether they stay married, but not now."
As we reported, ... there's no prenup in place ... so, with Mauricio's $100M real estate net worth and Kyle's 'Real Housewives' earnings, the division of their assets would really put some accountants and lawyers to work.

Anthony Volpe Yankees Should Pursue Ohtani 'He's The Best Of The Best'

Yankees shortstop Anthony Volpe is hoping to share a dugout with Shohei Ohtani next season ... telling TMZ Sports he believes New York should go after the former MVP in free agency.
"Yeah!" he said emphatically while out at the MLB Flagship Store in NYC on Thursday. "Of course!"
Ohtani is eligible to leave the Angels this year ... after he spent the last six seasons with the team turning himself into one of the biggest superstars the sport's ever seen.
In his time in LA, he racked up three All-Star appearances, a .274 batting average, a 3.01 ERA and 171 home runs.
And, despite undergoing a second surgery on his throwing elbow in September, Volpe made it clear to us he really wants to see the 29-year-old in pinstripes.
"I mean, I think he's the best of the best," Volpe said.
Ohtani is expected to stay off the mound in 2024 while rehabbing, but he is slated to be healthy enough to hit at the dish -- and many in the MLB believe he's now poised to land the biggest contract in the history of the sport.
The Dodgers are currently the favorite to get him ... but we all know the Yankees aren't afraid to outspend anybody -- something Volpe is obviously hoping happens.

Robert De Niro Jury Ordered Actor's Company to Pay $1.2M to Ex-Assistant
Robert De Niro just lost big in a New York courtroom, after a jury socked his production company with a $1.2 million judgment.
A jury shut down De Niro's claim that his ex-personal assistant, Graham Chase Robinson, embezzled from him. He had sought $6 million in damages but after 5 hours of deliberation, the jury tossed his claim.
The jury was way more sympathetic to Robinson's $12 million countersuit, awarding her $1.2 mil against De Niro's company, Canal Productions.
De Niro testified during the 2-week trial, and the jury heard about the tensions between him. The actor admitted he had called her a "f**king spoiled brat" when she failed to wake him for an important appointment. He also admitted that he asked her to scratch his back several times, but scoffed at the notion it was sexual. Robinson called it "creepy" and "disgusting."
Robinson claimed she was bullied by De Niro's girlfriend, Tiffany Chen, whom Robinson called a sociopath.
The trial, which lasted 8 days, was explosive, from start to finish.
We covered it all on the latest episode of The TMZ Podcast, available on all podcast platforms.

Tuohy Family Michael Oher Was Paid $138K In 'Blind Side' Profits ... We've Got The Receipts!!!
The Tuohy family says it's doled out $138K to Michael Oher from profits it received from "The Blind Side" ... and it's now claiming it's got the receipts to prove it.
Sean and Leigh Anne Tuohy shared images of the alleged payments inside new court documents filed in Tennessee this week ... insisting they show Oher received money from them in 10 separate installments.
The Tuohys said in the docs the payments began in June 2007 -- roughly two years before the blockbuster movie about Oher's life was released in the U.S. -- and most recently ended in April.
The payments to Oher, according to the docs, ranged from $117 all the way to $31,500 ... and represented an agreed upon split of the cash the Tuohys got from the "Blind Side" movie and the book that came out just before the hit flick.
"By agreement between the family members including Sean and Leigh Anne Tuohy, their children SJ and Collins as well as Michael Oher, the book and movie proceeds were to be split five ways," the Tuohys' attorneys wrote in court documents.
"These funds represent funds paid to Mr. Tuohy and the portion paid over to Mr. Oher."
As we previously reported, Oher had accused the Tuohys of essentially tricking him into a conservatorship ... before screwing him out of a ton of cash in the "Blind Side" deal that they negotiated -- which precipitated this week's court filings from the Tuohys.
'Blind Side' Inspo Michael Oher Says Tuohys Never Adopted Him, It Was Conservatorship
Meanwhile, the Tuohys have consistently maintained they did nothing wrong ... accusing Oher of actually trying to shake them down for $15 million, before willingly ending the conservatorship in September.
"The Tuohy's have never received any money as conservators on behalf of Michael Oher," the Tuohys' attorneys wrote in this week's court documents, "and further never had control over any funds or any dealings on behalf of Mr. Oher during the entire term of the conservatorship."
"In fact," they continued, "the Tuohy's spent tens of thousands of dollars of their own money to support Mr. Oher during his high school and college years."
