Porn legend Ron Jeremy busted a left turn while driving through Bev Hills, but failed to see a guy crossing the street and hit him -- now cops are on the case ... TMZ has learned.

It all went down Wednesday night and Jeremy says he never saw the pedestrian, who was dressed in all black. He says he "nicked" the guy. Cops and paramedics responded -- the victim was hospitalized with non life-threatening injuries.

8:00 AM PT -- TMZ Sports spoke with Tolbert who says he tried to pay with a check, but the shop said they would only take cash.

So, he went to the bank and got the money ... in change.

As for the dispute, Tolbert says he NEVER threatened anybody -- but says he firmly believes he was intentionally overcharged by more than $1,000 because he's an NFL player.

Tolbert says his car still isn't running correctly and he'll be taking it to another shop for further repairs.

One last thing ... Tolbert says the shop is slandering him -- and if they don't stop, he'll consider taking legal action.

Here's a jerk move -- Carolina Panthers fullback Mike Tolbert paid an auto shop $3,900 IN COINS after feuding with the owner over the price of a new motor.

It all started when Tolbert went to Motion Lab Tuning to get some work done -- but MT says the place tried to rake him over the coals because "I'm a millionaire." He posted on Instagram calling the owner a crook.

But the shop has now fired back in a Facebook post (likely written by the owner) -- claiming Mike was the real problem ... demanding free work because of his NFL status.

The shop says the dispute got so intense, Mike and a friend threatened him -- so he called police and the Charlotte-Mecklenburg PD banned Tolbert from the property.

However, that wasn't the end of the war ... the owner claims, "In a passive aggressive manner, [Tolbert] thought he would get the last laugh by paying in coins."

"Pretty dumb really. All $3,900 in coins were easily identifiable as they came from a bank in boxes and perfectly counted out. I will say this, those coins will be taken in the boxes they came in and will be taken to a teller at BOA for deposit."

The worst part of the story -- the shop owner says, " I also have to break it to my son who is a fan of Mike Tolbert that he is a real scumbag that doesn't want to pay his bills."

French IndyCar racing champion Simon Pagenaud has a winning record on the track, but in the streets, it's a different story.

TMZ Sports got Simon in NYC Wednesday (a few days after he clenched the Verizon IndyCar Series Championship) ... and asked him if he ever races fans on the road.

To our surprise, he says he actually always LOSES ... but wait till you hear why.

He's what the French call tres agreable.

Swizz Beatz screwed a car leasing company out of 10s of millions of dollars in super expensive whips, including McLarens, Bentleys, Porsches and Ferraris ... this according to a new lawsuit.

The famed music producer formed a car leasing company and used another company -- Metro-Gem Leasing and Funding -- to bankroll the venture.

Metro claims it plunked down millions so Swizz's company could snag the fancy cars, but over a 3 year period screwed them out of millions.

The suit mentions Swizz's wife, Alicia Keys, claiming in 2013 Swizz and Alicia started leasing some of the vehicles for personal use. She is not named as a defendant in the lawsuit.

The suit alleges massive fraud with 27 vehicles. Metro is asking for $42 mil in damages.

Tommy Lee's big ass motorcycle saved a man's life.

A friend and the Motley Crue drummer were hanging in Malibu over the weekend when the friend asked if he could switch motorcycles and ride Tommy's ... which was much bigger.

It was a lifesaving stroke of luck, because minutes later a car rear-ended the chopper, partially crunching it, and the cycle the guy should have been riding would have been utterly destroyed.

Still ... Tommy's friend was rushed to the hospital and sustained multiple vertebrae fractures. He's expected to recover.

Cleveland Cavs star Iman Shumpert has been hit with charges stemming from his arrest last month in Georgia ... TMZ Sports has learned.

As we previously reported, the 26-year-old guard was pulled over outside of Atlanta on August 10th for a lane change violation.

Police say they did a field sobriety test and determined Shumpert was high. Cops also found a mason jar of marijuana in the car.

According to court records, obtained by TMZ Sports, Shumpert was charged with DUI (drugs), marijuana possession (less than an ounce) and failure to maintain lane -- all misdemeanors. He was also hit with a few traffic citations.

DJ Khaled can make huge hits, Snapchat like a king and also drive the hell out of a Lyft while going totally incognito.

Khaled recently put on a not-so-intricate disguise, and drove unsuspecting passengers around NYC. Check out the video ... he dropped a ton of very "key" hints, but most of the riders didn't have a clue.

An expensive BMW registered to L.A. Rams star wide receiver Tavon Austin was involved in a police chase in California on Wednesday and the driver was arrested ... TMZ Sports has learned.

Cops say Dominic Makell -- a longtime friend of the NFL star -- was driving a silver BMW X6 on a California highway. For some reason, cops tried to pull him over ... but Makell allegedly took off.

Eventually, the vehicle came to a stop and Makell was arrested for felony evading an officer and willful disregard. He was hauled to a nearby station where he was booked. Bail was set at $50,000.

We're told Austin's name was listed as the registered owner of the car on the official police report.

We spoke with the Rams and the team confirmed Austin was at practice all day and was NOT involved with the arrest.

We also reached out to Tavon's agent for comment -- so far, no word back.

Don't take cars from hotel valets that aren't yours or you'll be punished ... just like ex-NBA player Jeff Adrien.

We broke the story, the 30-year-old former Timberwolves player essentially stole a Mercedes from a West Hollywood valet stand back in December and took it on a 6 hour joyride.

The REAL owner says Adrien damaged the car and police were called. He was charged with felony grand theft auto. Adrien claimed it was all one big misunderstanding.

Now, we've learned Adrien struck a plea deal with prosecutors, pleading no contest to misdemeanor unauthorized use of a vehicle -- and got 25 days community labor.

Tyga should have a rewards card for the repo man -- in addition to his Ferrari, we found out he recently lost a Maybach too!

Sources with direct knowledge of the deal tell us the rapper's 2014 Maybach 62 S Landaulet broke down a couple months ago, and got towed to a Laguna Niguel repair shop. We're told Tyga had missed a few payments, naturally, so the financing company put someone on the job.

We're told a source tipped off the repo man about the $2.2 million whip's whereabouts, and Tyga never saw it again. He had the whip for a couple years though, so as his vehicles go ... that's a pretty good stretch.

As for Tyga's Ferrari, which Kylie tried to insinuate had not been repossessed -- we got a pic of it back with the rightful owner.

TMZ Sports obtained police footage from the night NFL cornerback Damian Swann was arrested in Georgia in which he throws a serious Hail Mary ... asking the cop to give him a break because he plays for the New Orleans Saints!

L.A. Angels superstar Mike Trout was involved in a bad crash in Orange County after his game Wednesday night -- but miraculously, the outfielder was NOT hurt.

The crash occurred around 8:50 PM -- after the Angels defeated the Reds in Anaheim.

Officials say 4 cars were involved in the wreck on the 55 Freeway -- very close to the Angels Stadium -- and one car was wrecked so badly, rescuers needed the Jaws of Life to cut one person out their vehicle.

Trout was driving a black Mercedes, which suffered pretty significant damage to the front passenger side.

Two people were hospitalized in the wreck. Unclear how serious their conditions are.

Trout appeared to be okay ... with Angels general manager Billy Eppler issuing a statement saying, "I have spoken with Mike this evening and he feels fine."

"He is at home with his roommate and is planning on traveling with the club to Seattle tomorrow afternoon. We will update as more information becomes available."

The California Highway Patrol is currently investigating the cause of the crash.

In footage obtained by Fox 11's Liz Habib, Trout appears relatively calm at the scene.

Kylie Jenner just gave Tyga a very expensive smoke screen -- a new Bentley Bentayga.

Kylie says the $300k SUV was the reason she was at the dealer on Tuesday. She claims the story we broke -- about Tyga's Ferrari getting repo'd -- nearly blew her surprise.

Check out the video ... they took it out to Neuehouse Hollywood on Wednesday night.

KJ was super excited for the Bentley's unveiling, but Tyga was speechless. Probably still thinking about losing his sports car .. and a bit of dignity.

As for Kylie insinuating the repo was a "fake story?" LOL. We've seen the paper work.

MLB player Hector Olivera is giving Floyd Mayweather a run for his money -- really -- 'cause the free agent outfielder is dropping $3.5 MILLION on a one-of-a-kind SUPERCAR.

TMZ Sports spoke with Alex Vega from The Auto Firm, who tells us Olivera was so blown away by the Lykan HyperSport ... that he placed an order for the whip despite the HUGE price tag.

The car's ridiculous. It's the 1st of only 7 that'll be built ... has 780 HP, and goes 0 to 62 in 2.8 seconds!! If you're keeping score at home, it cost a whole million dollars more than Floyd's newest masterpiece.

The best part? Olivera isn't content keeping the car in factory condition. He's tasked Vega with tricking out the HyperSport's interior ... and adding a custom set of Avorza rims.

Tyga reunited with his old pal the repo man, who made off with the rapper's Ferrari at perhaps the most embarrassing time possible ... right in front of Kylie Jenner.

We're told Tyga hopped in his fancy red sports car Tuesday with Kylie and drove to the Bentley dealership in Calabasas. Little did he know that while they were checking out new whips ... his current one was about to get swiped.

Sources on the lot tell us the repo man showed up armed with a spare key for the Ferrari, jumped in, started it up and headed down the nearest freeway.

We're told Tyga missed a couple of his lease payments, and the lessor wasn't taking any chances.

Don't worry, Kylie and Tyga got a ride home from one of his homies.

Thomas Gibson says he's just one of many Americans who got screwed by Volkswagen's massive recall last year, and now he wants to settle the score in court.

In a new lawsuit obtained by TMZ ... Thomas claims an L.A. dealership, and VW by association, lied to his face when they told him his 2012 Audi Q7 offered him horsepower, fuel efficiency AND clean diesel.

He says those claims were BS, noting the feds found VW -- Audi's parent co. -- passed government emissions tests under false pretenses ... which lead to its recall of roughly 11 million cars worldwide.

Thomas -- who's freshly unemployed -- says he's opted out of the class action suit against VW. He's going all lone wolf, presumably because he thinks it'll net him more dough out of zee Germans.
