World's Deepest Pool Go for a Dip, 150-Feet Down ... In Poland, of All Places!!!

Published

If you truly wanna go off the deep end, head for Poland ... which now has bragging rights on pierogies AND the world's deepest swimming and diving pool.

The fittingly named Deepspot opened in Mszczonów over the weekend, featuring a depth of 45.5 meters ... which is nearly 150-feet deep. The pool holds 8,000 cubic meters of water, which is more water than 25 Olympic-sized swimming pools!!!

Ya might've figured this isn't your local YMCA lap pool ... the venue will serve as a training facility for military and firefighters -- and give otherwise landlocked scuba and free divers a place to explore.

Waiting for your permission to load the Instagram Media.

Deepspot also features manmade underwater caves, faux Mayan ruins, and a reproduction of a shipwreck. It's open to visitors as well, and includes a hotel with underwater views, a tunnel for spectators ... and a restaurant.

If going down is your thing ... you know where to go.

'2001: A Space Odyssey' Giant Monolith Found in Desert ... It's Happening!!!

Published

Cue up Richard Strauss' 'Also Sprach' and the enchanting wailing sirens, because it sure looks like Stanley Kubrick's classic SciFi flick is coming to life ... in the Utah desert.

A sleek metallic monolith was discovered last week in the middle of freakin' nowhere -- an incredibly remote area in the southeastern part of the state, according to officials at the Utah Department of Public Safety Aero Bureau.

Of course, that instantly reminded them and everyone else of "2001: A Space Odyssey" -- which featured a similar monolith as a crucial part of the plot.

The government officials found it while they were helicoptering over the land to count bighorn sheep (no, they weren't suffering insomnia) when someone spotted the monolith down below.

No word if there were any pre-evolution apes roaming around and killing each other with bones!

The object -- which is estimated to be anywhere from 10 to 12 feet tall -- is said to have been "installed" in the red rock ground ... almost like it had been planted there. The UDPSAB team says it doesn't know who put it there -- no clues at this point.

Now, before you go jumping to alien theories ... you should know the scientists say it's like an art installation piece placed by someone (aka homo sapien) rather than any type of out-of-this-world phenomenon. In fact, they go so far as to scold whoever might've done it because it's illegal. Still, they can't find a culprit.

We know what you're thinking, but officials aren't giving away the monolith's exact location because they fear people will come out searching for it, and get lost ... and require rescue.

Shannon Sharpe Blasts Tom Brady For Not Shaking Goff's Hand

Published

Shannon Sharpe believes it's complete "bulljive" that Tom Brady didn't stick around after "Monday Night Football" to shake Jared Goff's hand ... and now, the Hall of Fame tight end says it's time to "call his ass out" for it.

Brady played REALLY poorly in the Buccaneers' loss to the Rams -- his interception with seconds to go in the 4th quarter sealed the 27-24 L for Tampa Bay.

And, as the clock was expiring, Tom bolted straight to the locker room pissed off ... leaving Goff without a postgame QB-to-QB handshake.

The scene was actually kind of sad ... Goff appeared to be looking for Brady after the game -- but the G.O.A.T was nowhere to be found.

Of course, Tom did the same thing to Nick Foles earlier this year after a loss to the Bears ... and now Sharpe is straight-up calling the guy a sore loser over it all.

"I guess Brady doesn’t know Goff well enough to shake his hand after losing. Yet, he knows every qb after he wins," Sharpe said. "Brady is full of what the elephant left on the show ground."

"His attitude is bulljive and it’s time to call his A** out on it."

The NFL has recommended players limit their contact postgame in order to prevent a possible spread of coronavirus ... but to Shannon's point, Brady has stuck around after every Bucs win to still shake his opponents' hands.

No comment from Jared yet on the snub ... but something tells us he's happier with the win anyway.

Lukas Gage Zoom Audition Director Apologizes ... He Deserved Better

SORRY, NOT SORRY
UPDATE

7:00 AM PT -- 11/24 -- Shapeero has changed his tune and decided to issue a wholehearted apology to Lukas Gage for what he said on the Zoom call ... but also explain how it wasn't as bad as it seemed.

UPDATE
UPDATE

The director says ... "First and foremost I offer Mr. Gage a sincere and unvarnished apology for my offensive words, my unprofessional behavior during the audition and for not giving him the focus and attention he deserved. My job is to evaluate performers against the part I am trying to cast. Lukas deserved better."

UPDATE

Shapeero goes on to explain the Zoom audition was back in August after months of lockdown, and it was emotional for him to see how hard actors were working in the tough conditions to land roles.

UPDATE

He explains when he was referring to actors like Lukas when he said "These poor people," but he meant "in the sense of deserving sympathy, as opposed to any economic judgment."

UPDATE

The director says he truly appreciates what actors have been going through, and he's still mortified about what happened. However, he vows to "move forward from this incident a more empathetic man; a more focused director and I promise, an even better partner to actors from the audition process to the final cut."

The director who seemingly got busted for trash-talking actor Lukas Gage's apartment on a Zoom call says he's not going to apologize for it ... because important context is missing.

Tristram Shapeero -- a British TV director best known for directing episodes of "Community," "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt" and "Veep" -- is the guy on the other end of Gage's instantly infamous online audition.

Shapeero -- who apparently thought he was muted -- is heard saying, "These poor people live in these tiny apartments," referring to where Lukas was staying ... and goes on to criticize his TV before he realizes Lukas can hear him.

The director is now suggesting he wasn't talking smack and won't say sorry ... but does claim a statement will be coming out on the matter. Funny thing is, Shapeero said sorry multiple times to Lukas on the call when he was busted, and even added that he was mortified.

The actor -- known for roles on "American Vandal" and "Euphoria" -- posted the clip saying ... "psa: if youre a sh*t talking director make sure to mute ur mic on zoom mtgings."

The incident led to an outpouring of support in Hollywood for Gage, but the director seems to think it was all overblown.

NJ Gov. Phil Murphy Responds, Keeps It Classy After Family's Accosted 'I'm a Big Boy, But ... '

Published
UPDATE

3:50 PM PT -- Murphy, at his Monday news conference, responded to being accosted and said, "I'm a big boy. Thick skin. It doesn't impact me at all and I think I can say the same thing for my wife." Murphy did, however, make one request ... keep his kids out of it.

UPDATE

That being said ... the Gov doesn't hold any ill will towards the women ... acknowledging there's definitely a lot of stress in this country right now. In short ... he kept it classy despite the insults. Take note, 'Merica.

LET'S MOVE ON

The Governor of New Jersey can't mask himself from angry constituents -- a couple of them went after him and his family for daring to eat out at a restaurant.

Gov. Phil Murphy was dining out with is wife and their 4 kids when the apparent Trump-supporting women accosted them this weekend, and began hurling insults. One of them immediately called Murphy "such a d**k" and chided.

The women were clearly pissed off about the new coronavirus lockdowns, and one of Murphy's sons asks if they're drunk -- you gotta see their response. Stereotypical Jersey shore stuff here ... 'cause the f-bombs really started flying.

Like many governors around the country, Murphy's getting backlash from many citizens ticked off about COVID restrictions heading into the Thanksgiving holiday. He's also getting push back from some police departments which say they won't respond to reports of people breaking the rules.

Still, the Murphy fam's night out -- seated outdoors wearing jackets in cool November temps -- seems far less egregious than say California Gov. Newsom's infamous night at French Laundry.

Thanksgiving 2020 Turkey Sales Are Brisk Nationwide ... Folks Aren't Heeding Dire Warnings

Published | Updated

It seems every doctor or scientist from Dr. Fauci on down is URGING people NOT to celebrate Thanksgiving, but based on our unscientific survey, folks don't seem to be listening.

We called around the country to various supermarket chains ... and turkey sales are pretty much the same they were last year, and in some cases, even more birds are going to have their gooses cooked.

-- Star Market in Boston has sold roughly the same number of turkeys as last year. And, get this ... they sold 30% more large turkeys this year, at least so far.

-- Stop & Shop in New York City has sold out all of its smaller birds -- we're talking 900 turkeys. The larger turkeys are not flying off the shelves. This could be a good sign that people aren't planning super-large gatherings.

-- Wegmans in Princeton, New Jersey has also seen an increase in smaller turkeys over last year. Again, maybe a sign of smaller gatherings.

-- Jewel-Osco market in Chicago is seeing the same number of turkeys sold this year as last, but small turkeys seem to be selling faster than larger ones.

-- Hy-Ve market in Minneapolis again says they're selling the same number of turkeys this year as last.

-- Giant Eagle Supermarket in Pittsburgh is also seeing the same number sold this year as last.

-- Kroger Fresh Fare in Dallas has seen a 20% increase in turkey sales this year as compared to last. They've actually sold out and are waiting for another shipment of 1,000 birds.

-- Whole Foods in New Orleans is seeing the same sales this year as last.

-- Publix in Atlanta has sold more turkeys -- both big and small -- this year compared to last.

-- Ralphs in Los Angeles is seeing the same rate of turkey sales this year as last.  They're almost sold out of small turkeys but larger birds are also selling well.

-- Albertsons in Kingston, Washington has seen an increase in smaller turkeys. The larger turkeys are not selling well.

-- Smart & Final in Phoenix is seeing an increase in turkey sales -- both big and small -- over last year. They fill their shelves with 8 cases of turkeys at a time and they sell out in just 4 hours.

So, the unscientific takeaway ... people are definitely celebrating Thanksgiving. What we don't know is whether the smaller turkeys signal scaled-down Thanksgiving dinners, but the level of sales is at least the same as last year and in some cases higher.

ALS Ice Bucket Challenge Co-Creator Patrick Quinn Dead at 37

Published | Updated

Patrick Quinn -- who co-created the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge -- has died.

Quinn passed away Sunday after a 7-year-long battle with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis -- also known as Lou Gehrig's disease -- this according to his official Facebook page.

A remembrance post read, "It is with great sadness that we must share the passing of Patrick early this morning.  He was a blessing to us all in so many ways.  We will always remember him for his inspiration and courage in his tireless fight against ALS."

Pat's involvement with the IBC is tied to his pal, Peter Frates, who was widely seen as the face/inspiration behind the challenge and why it went viral. Had it not been for PQ catching wind of a similar challenge happening earlier in 2014 and then linking it directly to ALS while spreading the word ... Frates might've never blown up.

Together, the two of them formally affiliated the challenge with ALS -- which took off all over the world and went on to raise significant awareness about the disease ... not to mention money. As of late, the Ice Bucket Challenge has helped raise upwards of $250 million to help study and, hopefully, eradicate the ailment.

As we reported, Frates -- who also had ALS -- died quite young as well at the age of 34 just last year. His Fenway Park video was the spark plug that made everyone jump on the challenge in August 2014 -- which also spurred folks to challenge other people as a result.

Celebs have also taken up the challenge over the years -- folks like David Spade, Charlie Sheen, Kim K, Ellen and others. Then-President Barack Obama rejected the challenge ... but opted to donate instead, which is probably worth more anyway.

As for Quinn, he was only 37 years old.

NYC Sheriff's Office Break Up Underground Swingers Party ... No Sex for You!!!

Published | Updated

A bunch of free-spirited sex revelers had their good time cut short by cops in the Big Apple -- an interesting contrast to another attempted New York bust gone bad.

The NYC Sheriff's Office busted in and broke up an underground swingers club early Sunday morning in Queens ... which is said to have been hosting upwards of 80 people -- a big no-no under Gov. Cuomo's new 10-person-or-less rule.

Sure enough, there was a rager going down -- music was blasting and people were mingling and sipping on booze, which the Sheriff's Office says was being illegally served. Oh, and there were some people making whoopee too ... all together.

The cops say they found three couples having sex in a small room -- apparently, this swinger joint -- which goes by Caligula, of all names -- has services for that if you're looking to get busy. The Sheriff's Office even snapped a shot of one of those rooms, plus a price sheet going over rates, and what looks like a box of condoms!

All in all, two organizers and one patron were charged with misdemeanors -- and the place was cleared out. The NYP reports that the manager was hit with lots of fines ... which amounted to about $16,000 for violating emergency measures issued by the state. The guy reportedly also got dinged for booze infractions.

This is almost a complete 180 from what went down in neighboring Buffalo just the night prior -- when Sheriff's deputies and county health workers tried barging in on a packed business meeting to shut it down, only to get chased off by the mob.

Maybe the Erie County crew should call up the city boys and get a few pointers on how to go about handling these types of situations. Just a thought!

Tyler Perry Studios Thousands Flock to Line Up ... For Thanksgiving Giveaway

EARLY BIRDS

Tyler Perry was in the giving mood this weekend -- and it appears thousands more were in the receiving mood ahead of an extremely challenging Thanksgiving.

Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta became the site of incredibly long lines of cars Sunday morning as folks came from all over to jump on the food drive giveaway the studio dubbed TPSGiving ... which aimed to feed 5,000 families.

TP and co. promised to offer up nonperishables as well as gift cards to the first 5,000 families to pull up to their grounds ... and the people heard them loud and clear, because the cars started arriving as early as Saturday afternoon, and only grew bigger going into Sunday -- with the drive going from 8 AM ET to noon.

Check out this drone footage TMZ obtained that shows a bird's-eye view of the scene -- you can see traffic backed up all along the surrounding freeway there ... and word on the ground is that it was even more packed than what this shows.

As for how it was carried out, Tyler's staff made sure to keep coronavirus in mind ... the hand-off of goods was all curbside pickup, and everyone receiving a care package was asked to wear masks. The TPS employees were covered in PPE from head to toe as well, so by all accounts ... it was as safe as can be for this type of thing.

The charitable deed is nothing new on Tyler's part, especially as the pandemic has ravaged much of the country. Tyler's done everything from tipping the hell out of a local restaurant staff -- with upwards of $20k-plus -- and also picked up the tabs of grocery shoppers in NOLA and Atlanta earlier this year too.

Elephant Rescue Beast Lifted From Well in Crazy Video!!!

Published | Updated

This tops every video this week ... an enormous elephant hoisted from a well and pulled to safety ... and it only took 12 hours!!!

It was an incredible feat. The majestic beast fell into a deep well in India and rescuers jumped into action. The dilemma -- how to pull all that tonnage up to solid ground.

The rescue effort began in daylight Thursday but extended into darkness, as the elephant was secured by ropes and then a crane was dispatched to lift the creature.

The animal was sedated and slowly ... it was lifted from the base of the well and ascended.

When all was said and done, the elephant emerged from the darkness ... with cheers from rescuers and onlookers. It was freed from the ropes and stood with obvious relief. The elephant's fine!

Apparently, wells are an attractive nuisance for elephants ... 2 others have fallen into Indian wells recently ... not to be confused with Indian Wells outside Palm Springs.

So, who said elephants couldn't fly!?!

Coronavirus Oxford Scientists Slam Facebook for Censorship ... Flagged Mask-Wearing Article as 'False'

Published

Two Oxford scientists have skewered Facebook, claiming the company is engaged in anti-democratic censorship by flagging their article on mask-wearing "false information."

Professor Carl Heneghan and Dr. Tom Jefferson authored a paper called, "Landmark Danish Study Shows Face Masks Have No Significant Effect." They based the article on a study done in Denmark in which 6,000 folks were divided into 2 groups -- half wearing masks outside their homes and half not wearing masks. According to the study, the infection rate for mask-wearers was 1.8%. The rate for those who didn't wear masks was 2.1%.

The study called the results "inconclusive," but the 2 Oxford doctors went further, saying, " ... it seems that any effect masks have on preventing the spread of the disease in the community is small." That was enough for Facebook to step in and call BS, slapping a warning on the article and adding that it was "checked by independent fact-checkers."

Professor Heneghan railed on Facebook, saying, "I'm aware this is happening to others -- what has happened to academic freedom and freedom of speech. There is nothing in this article that is 'false.'"

Dr. Jefferson told the Daily Mail, "It is censorship and it is one of the reasons we face a global meltdown of free thinking and science."

On the scientific front, the study did not address what appears to be an indisputable fact ... that masks do reduce the spread of COVID-laced droplets and that's just common sense ... if someone who is infected wears a mask it's harder for the droplets to escape into the air.

That said, on the subject of censorship, this is exactly what critics have been screaming but few have cared to listen ... to make Facebook the gatekeeper of the information we receive is fraught with peril. It assumes Facebook can tell us what to think about everything from auto repair to cancer ... at least, that's what critics charge.

Erie County, NY Authorities Attempt Meeting Shutdown Chased Off by Anti-maskers!!!

Published | Updated

A large group of biz owners in Erie County, NY called the local authorities' bluff when they tried shutting down their get-together ... and sent Johnny Law packing.

This went down Friday night at a CrossFit gym called Athletes Unleashed in Orchard Park -- not too far away from Buffalo -- where upwards of 100 local businessmen and women congregated to discuss how to navigate the state's new COVID-19 guidelines ... which again are limiting hours, customers and access in NY.

While these folks were having their meeting -- with most people not wearing masks -- Erie County Sheriff's Deputies and Health Dept. officials made their way inside and attempted to disperse the crowd ... saying they were in violation of Gov. Cuomo's new 10-person-or-less rule for public gatherings.

What happened next is nothing short of shocking ... the crowd actually stood their ground and demanded the cops and county workers beat it -- which they did.

They were chased off in dramatic fashion, with the angry mob chanting "Get out!" and "We will not comply!" as they followed the Sheriff's deputies and others out into the parking lot and all the way back to their vehicles ... like dogs with their tail between their legs. It's cringe-worthy to see -- the cops pretty much folded.

This also raises a serious question -- what sort of powers does law enforcement actually have in trying to enforce state-mandated regulations??? We reached out to the Erie County Sheriff's Office for further comment ... no word back yet.

American Airlines Jet Strikes Bird, Windshield Shattered ... Emergency Landing in Chi-Town

Published | Updated
UPDATE

2:17 PM PT -- Sources close to the investigation tell TMZ ... the culprit for the cracked windshield is believed to be a bird that came into contact while in the air. Mystery solved, or so it seems.

An American Airlines flight encountered one of the most terrifying things a plane could go through mid-flight -- one of its windows started looking like a spider web ... and it happened in the cockpit, no less.

Check out these wild photos TMZ obtained of an AA flight that was on its way to Cleveland, OH Saturday ... something apparently struck the cockpit's windshield and damn near shattered it to pieces.

BTW, this happened midway through the trip ... the plane was forced to turn around for an emergency landing in Chicago.

The passengers didn't know anything was amiss, until the captain got on the intercom and said it looks like they hit something and the window was cracked. The pilot reassured passengers the plane was still fully operational ... nonetheless, it was really scary.

The jet was greeted by fire trucks and other emergency vehicles. It taxied to the gate and the relieved passengers disembarked.

After an hour's wait, passengers boarded another plane and were off on their merry way. American tells us they're looking into the incident.

Hopefully, Sully was on standby ... just in case.

MSNBC's Brian Williams On Trump's 'Rona Response Most Sarcastic Monologue Ever

Published

Anyone looking to get schooled in sarcasm, irony or satire ... check out Brian Williams going full Jonathan Swift on President Trump's COVID response, and Geraldo's praise for the Prez.

The MSNBC anchor ended his broadcast Friday night by mocking Geraldo Rivera over-praising Trump's handling of the virus on 'FOX & Friends' ... which Brian then proceeded to piggy-back on and take it to a whole new level of ass-kissing.

If you take BW at his word here, it sounds like he's completely on Trump's side -- but, as his remarks go on ... it becomes clear he's doing nothing but making fun of the Prez, because everything he's saying isn't true. Watch for yourself, it's a riot.

Brian says it's possible we aren't giving Trump enough credit for his FDR-like commitment to eradicating the virus and the relief efforts he's fast-tracked to help people struggling. He also asks where would we be without Trump's constant lecturing to the American people that masks are crucial and must be worn.

Then comes the full farce ... Brian goes on to compare what Trump Steaks did for the hungry, what Trump Water did the for thirsty, and what Trump University did for the uneducated -- comparing all that to what Trump did here with 'rona.

It's a master class in tongue-in-cheek humor -- but honestly, Brian's tongue might be tearing out of his cheek with this one. 😝

'Home Alone' Xmas Decorations at House Recreate Iconic Movie Scenes to a T

Published | Updated

The Wet Bandits are once again being chased off a property by young Kevin McCallister this holiday season ... because somebody went to extreme lengths to bring 'Home Alone' to life at their own crib ... almost quite literally.

The house in question is decked out in perhaps the most EPIC Christmas decoration set-up ever ... with this home-owner going above and beyond to recreate some of the most iconic scenes and snapshot moments from Macaulay Culkin's 1990 comedy classic.

Waiting for your permission to load TikTok Post.

They even have life-size figurines of the three main characters -- little Kevin's up on the roof with his memorable paint can booby trap ... while Marv and Harry try to make a run for it from the porch below. Not exactly how things played out in the flick, but close enough.

If you'll recall, Kevin actually throws the paint cans from inside the huge Chicago-based McCallister mansion, tossing 'em over the stair banister and hitting each crook in the head to send them toppling back down to the first story.

There's more décor from the movie all over the house -- including the Michael Jordan cardboard cutout that Kevin used to make the bandits think someone was home ... plus the front page of the newspaper showing that Marv and Harry had escaped from prison. Whoever shot this also had the good sense to throw Brenda Lee's 'Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree' as the background music ... a prominent song featured in 'Home Alone.'

Oh, and who could forget the classic line from the fake noir film Kevin used to scare people -- like an unwitting pizza boy -- as well ... 'Angels with Filthy Souls,' which had the best tagline ever?!? That makes a cameo here too, in spirit (and signage).

Merry Christmas, ya filthy animal!!! Ah ... that never gets old.
