Rosie O'Donnell Offers Senators $2M to Vote Against Tax Bill ... Flirts with Federal Crime

Published | Updated

Rosie O'Donnell could be in big trouble for offering millions to GOP senators to vote against the new tax bill.

Rosie tweeted Tuesday at Republican Senators Susan Collins and Jeff Flake -- who both hold key votes for the legislation -- offering to pay 'em $2 mil each if they voted no.

The comedian immediately came under fire for what many called straight-up attempted bribery of a U.S. official, which is a crime. Rosie will likely say she's a comedian and it's just a joke ... however, she did say, "no s**t."

Worth noting -- the Senate passed the bill early Wednesday morning.

Boston's Cardinal Law Dead at 86 Head of Church During Priest Sex Scandal

Published | Updated

Cardinal Bernard Law -- the disgraced Boston archbishop at the helm during the Catholic church's sex abuse scandal, and prominently portrayed in the Oscar-winning movie "Spotlight" -- is dead.

The Vatican made a one-sentence announcement, "Cardinal Bernard Law died early this morning after a long illness." Law, who died in Rome Wednesday, was forced to resign as archbishop in 2002 after the Boston Globe's investigative reporting revealed he covered up for pedophile priests.

Law, who was never criminally prosecuted, was promoted to archbishop in 1984 by Pope John Paul II. That same year, a bishop brought forward concerns about a priest molesting kids. Law re-assigned that priest to another parish where the molestation continued.

The scandal and the Globe's investigation was the plot of "Spotlight."

Track Palin Allegedly Assaulted His Dad ... Sarah Palin Called Cops

Published | Updated

Sarah Palin's oldest son allegedly broke into his parents' house and beat his dad bloody until cops showed up and busted him ... TMZ has learned.

According to an affidavit by the arresting officer, Sarah called police in Wasilla, Alaska Saturday saying her son, Track, was "freaking out" and on "some type of medication."

As cops were responding, they got an update that Track had broken through a window at the Palin house and was assaulting his father, Todd. Upon arriving, cops say they found Todd fleeing in a vehicle and bleeding from the face ... with Track still inside.

While trying to subdue him, the officer says Track called the cops "peasants" and told them to drop their guns. Eventually, they arrested him and got the full story.

According to Todd, he and Track got into a heated argument earlier in the night about picking up his son's truck. Todd told Track not to come since he'd been drinking and was on pain meds, but Track came anyway.

Todd told cops that he had armed himself with a pistol and was prepared to "protect his family." That's when Track busted through the window, disarmed his dad and started pounding on his head ... before Todd was able to escape.

As we reported ... Track was arrested on 3 separate charges related to domestic violence. It's the 2nd time in two years he's been busted for similar cases.
